2-Propoxyethanol (C3E1) is one of nonionic surfactants which are a particularly interesting class of substances due to both inter-molecular and intra-molecular association. Binary (vapor + liquid) equilibrium data were measured for {2-propoxyethanol (C3E1) + n-hexane} and {2-propoxyethanol (C3E1) + n-heptane} systems at temperatures ranging from (303.15 to 323.15) K. A static apparatus was used in this study. The experimental data were correlated well with a lattice fluid equation of state that combines the multi-fluid non-random lattice fluid model with Veytsman statistics for (intra + inter)-molecular association.  相似文献

In this communication we present topographic images of the Pt(1 1 1) surface in CO saturated 0.1 M HClO4, obtained by scanning tunneling microscopy. The topography presents two different structures, depending on the CO adsorption potential (Ead = 0.15 V or Ead = 0.5 V vs RHE). For adsorption at 0.15 V the system presents a heterogeneous appearance, which totally covers the surface and impedes the observation of steps on the substrate surface. When CO is adsorbed at 0.5 V large clusters forming chains along the steps are observed. These aggregates can be, tentatively, correlated with the H-bonded water structure suggested earlier on the basis of FTIR spectroscopy. The clusters have inhibitory effects on CO oxidation.  相似文献

Binary (vapor + liquid) equilibrium data were measured for the {carbon dioxide + isopropoxyethanol (iC3E1)} and the {carbon dioxide + isobutoxyethanol (iC4E1)} systems at temperatures ranging from (313.15 to 333.15) K. These experiments were performed with a circulating-type apparatus with on-line gas chromatography. The experimental data correlated well with the Peng–Robinson equation of state using the Wong–Sandler mixing rules.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium data for ternary and quaternary systems containing n-hexane (C6H14), toluene (C7H8), m-xylene (C8H10), propanol (C3H8O), sulfolane (C4H8SO2), and water (H2O) were measured at T = 303.15 K. Phase diagrams of {w1C4H8SO2 + w2C7H8 + (1  w1  w2)C6H14}, {w1C4H8SO2 + w2C8H10 + (1  w1  w2)C6H14}, {w1C4H8SO2 + w2C3H8O + w3C7H8 + (1  w1  w2  w3)C6H14} and also systems containing water: {w1C4H8SO2 + w2H2O + w3C7H8 + (1  w1  w2  w3)C6H14} and {w1C4H8SO2 + w2H2O + w3C8H10 + (1  w1  w2  w3)C6H14} (w = mass fraction) were obtained at T = 303.15 K. The (liquid + liquid) equilibrium data of the systems were used to obtain interaction parameters in non-random two-liquid (NRTL) and universal quasi-chemical theory (UNIQUAC) activity coefficient models. These parameters can be used to predict equilibrium data of ternary and quaternary systems. The root mean square deviations (RMSDs) using these models were calculated and reported. The partition coefficients and the selectivity factors of solvents for extraction of toluene or m-xylene from n-hexane at T = 303.15 K are calculated and presented. The experimental selectivity factors of sulfolane for the system {w1C4H8SO2 + w2C7H8 + (1  w1  w2)C6H14} at T = 298.15 K and T = 323.15 K were taken from the literature and the influence of temperature on the extraction of toluene was also investigated. The phase diagrams for the ternary and quaternary systems including both the experimental and correlated tie lines are presented. The tie-line data of the studied systems were also correlated using the Hand equation and the correlation parameters are calculated and reported.  相似文献

Given the importance that enthalpic and entropic contributions have in the interplay between thermodynamics and self-assembly of aqueous amphiphile systems, the energetic characterisation of the system {water + 1-propoxypropan-2-ol (1-pp-2-ol)} at T = 298.15 K was made by directly measuring excess partial molar enthalpies of 1-pp-2-ol and water, over the entire composition range, at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. Derivatives of the partial molar properties with respect to the composition are used to improve the understanding of molecular interactions in the water-rich region. The present results were compared with those for the well-studied system {water + 2-butoxyethanol (nC4E1)}, the two amphiphiles being structural isomers.  相似文献

The densities of the following: (pentane  +  1-chloropropane, or 1-chlorobutane, or 1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane), (hexane  +  1-chloropropane, or 1-chlorobutane, or 1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane), (heptane  +  1-chloropropane, or 1-chlorobutane, or 1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane), (octane  +  1-chloropropane, or 1-chlorobutane, or 1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane), were measured at T =  298.15 K by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volumes VmE, calculated from the density data, are negative for (pentane  +  1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane) and (hexane  +  1-chlorohexane) over the entire range of composition. (Pentane  +  1-chlorobutane), (hexane  +  1-chloropentane) and (heptane  +  1-chlorohexane) exhibit an S-shapedVmE dependence. For all the other systems,VmE is positive. The VmEresults were correlated using the fourth-order Redlich–Kister equation, with the maximum likelihood principle being applied for determining the adjustable parameters.  相似文献

Hydrogen adsorption isotherms, evaluated by combination of cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry, are reported on Pt(1 1 1) and Pt(1 0 0) surfaces in 0.1 M HClO4. We found that at E > 0.05 V Pt(1 1 1) and Pt(1 0 0) are only partially covered by the adsorbed hydrogen (Had). On both surfaces, a full monolayer of the adsorbed hydrogen is completed at −0.1 V, i.e. the adsorption of atomic hydrogen is observed in the hydrogen evolution potential region. We also found, that the activity of the hydrogen oxidation reaction is mirrored by the shape of the hydrogen adsorption isotherms, implying that Had is in fact a spectator in the HOR.  相似文献

We have measured the densities of aqueous solutions of l-methionine, l-methionine plus equimolal HCl, and l-methionine plus equimolal NaOH at temperatures 278.15  T/K  368.15, at molalities 0.0125  m/mol · kg−1  1.0 as solubilities allowed, and at p = 0.35 MPa using a vibrating tube densimeter. We have also measured the heat capacities of these solutions at 278.15  T/K  393.15 and at the same m and p using a twin fixed-cell differential temperature-scanning calorimeter. We used the densities to calculate apparent molar volumes Vϕ and the heat capacities to calculate apparent molar heat capacities Cp,ϕ for these solutions. We used our results and values from the literature for Vϕ(T, m) and Cp,ϕ(T, m) for HCl(aq), NaOH(aq), and NaCl(aq) and the molar heat capacity change ΔrCp,m(T, m) for ionization of water to calculate parameters for ΔrCp,m(T, m) for the two proton dissociations from protonated aqueous cationic l-methionine. We integrated these results in an iterative algorithm using Young’s Rule to account for the effects of speciation and chemical relaxation on Vϕ(T, m) and Cp,ϕ(T, m). This procedure yielded parameters for Vϕ(T, m) and Cp,ϕ(T, m) for methioninium chloride {H2Met+Cl(aq)} and for sodium methioninate {Na+Met(aq)} which successfully modeled our observed results. Values are given for ΔrCp,m, ΔrHm, pQa, ΔrSm, and ΔrVm for the first and second proton dissociations from protonated aqueous l-methionine as functions of T and m.  相似文献

The thermodynamic properties ofZn5(OH)6(CO3)2 , hydrozincite, have been determined by performing solubility and d.s.c. measurements. The solubility constant in aqueous NaClO4media has been measured at temperatures ranging from 288.15 K to 338.15 K at constant ionic strength (I =  1.00 mol · kg  1). Additionally, the dependence of the solubility constant on the ionic strength has been investigated up to I =  3.00 mol · kg  1NaClO4at T =  298.15 K. The standard molar heat capacity Cp, mofunction fromT =  318.15 K to T =  418.15 K, as well as the heat of decomposition of hydrozincite, have been obtained from d.s.c. measurements. All experimental results have been simultaneously evaluated by means of the optimization routine of ChemSage yielding an internally consistent set of thermodynamic data (T =  298.15 K): solubility constant log * Kps 00 =  (9.0  ±  0.1), standard molar Gibbs energy of formationΔfGmo {Zn5(OH)6(CO3)2 }  =  (  3164.6  ±  3.0)kJ · mol  1, standard molar enthalpy of formation ΔfHmo{Zn5(OH)6(CO3)2 }  =  (  3584  ±  15)kJ · mol  1, standard molar entropy Smo{Zn5(OH)6(CO3)2 }  =  (436  ±  50)J · mol  1· K  1and Cp,mo / (J · mol  1· K  1)  =  (119  ±  11)  +  (0.834  ±  0.033)T / K. A three-dimensional predominance diagram is introduced which allows a comprehensive thermodynamic interpretation of phase relations in(Zn2 +  +  H2O  +  CO2) . The axes of this phase diagram correspond to the potential quantities: temperature, partial pressure of carbon dioxide and pH of the aqueous solution. Moreover, it is shown how the stoichiometric composition{n(CO3) / n(Zn)} of the solid compoundsZnCO3 and Zn5(OH)6(CO3)2can be checked by thermodynamically analysing the measured solubility data.  相似文献

Two C–O stretching hot bands, (ν1 + 2ν3)  2ν3 and (2ν1 + ν3)  (ν1 + ν3), of the CCO radical in the ground electronic state were measured. These hot bands are red shifted by approximately 70 cm−1 compared to the C–O stretching fundamental. CCO was produced in a discharge through a flowing mixture of carbon suboxide and helium. The spectra were recorded using a diode laser spectrometer. The band origins were determined to be 1904.32512(62) and 1902.69130(56) cm−1 for (ν1 + 2ν3)  2ν3 and (2ν1 + ν3)  (ν1 + ν3), respectively. The measurements in this band together with previously reported frequencies in the C–C and C–O stretching regions were analysed to determine harmonic frequencies and anharmonicity constants.  相似文献

We have measured the densities of aqueous solutions of isoleucine, threonine, and equimolal solutions of these two amino acids with HCl and with NaOH at temperatures 278.15  T/K  368.15, at molalities 0.01  m/mol · kg−1  1.0, and at the pressure 0.35 MPa using a vibrating tube densimeter. The vapour pressures of liquid (3-diethylaminopropylamine (3-DEPA) + n-heptane) mixtures were measured by a static method between T = (303.15 and 343.15) K at 10 K intervals. The molar excess enthalpies HE at T = 303.15 K were measured for the systems {3-DEPA + CnH2n+2 (n = 6, 7, 12)}. The molar excess Gibbs free energies GE were obtained with Barker’s method and fitted to the Redlich–Kister equation. The Wilson equation was also used. Deviations between experimental and predicted GE and HE, by using group contribution UNIFAC (Gmehling version) model, were evaluated.  相似文献

The densities of (heptane + 1-chlorobutane, or 1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane) were measured at the temperatures (308.15, 318.15, and 328.15) K by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volumes, VmE, calculated from the density data, along with our previous data(1) determined at T=298.15 K for the same systems, provide the temperature dependence of VmE in the temperature range of 298 to 328 K. The VmE results were correlated using the fourth-order Redlich–Kister equation, with the maximum likelihood principle applied for the determination of the adjustable parameters. It was found that the deviations from ideal behaviour (both positive and negative) in the systems studied increase with increasing temperature.  相似文献

Microcalorimetric measurements of excess enthalpies at the temperature T = 298.15 K are reported for the two ternary mixtures {x1(C4H8O or C5H10O) + x2C5H12O + x3C8H18}. Smooth representations of the results are presented and used to construct constant excess molar enthalpy contours on Roozeboom diagrams. It is shown that good estimates of the ternary enthalpies can be obtained from the Liebermann and Fried model, using only the physical properties of the components and their binary mixtures.  相似文献

A flow mixing calorimeter followed by a vibrating-tube densimeter has been used to measure excess molar enthalpies HmE and excess molar volumesVmE of {xC3H8 +  (1   x)SF6}. Measurements over a range of mole fractionsx have been made at the pressure p =  4.30 MPa at eight temperatures in the rangeT =  314.56 K to 373.91 K, in the liquid region at p =  3.75 MPa andT =  314.56 K, in the two phase region at p =  3.91 MPa andT =  328.18 K, and in the supercritical region at p =  5.0 MPa andT =  373.95 K. The measurements are compared with results from the Patel–Teja equation of state which reproduces the main features of the excess function curves as well as it does for similar measurements on{xCO2 +  (1   x)C2H6} ,{xCO2 +  (1   x)C2H4} and{xCO2 +  (1   x)SF6} reported previously.  相似文献

We determined apparent molar volumes V? at 298.15 ? (T/K) ? 368.15 and apparent molar heat capacities Cp,? at 298.15 ? (T/K) ? 393.15 for aqueous solutions of HIO3 at molalities m from (0.015 to 1.0) mol · kg?1, and of aqueous KIO3 at molalities m from (0.01 to 0.2) mol · kg?1 at p = 0.35 MPa. We also determined V? at the same p and at 298.15 ? (T/K) ? 368.15 for aqueous solutions of KI at m from (0.015 to 7.5) mol · kg?1. We determined Cp,? at the same p and at 298.15 ? (T/K) ? 393.15 for aqueous solutions of KI at m from (0.015 to 5.5) mol · kg?1, and for aqueous solutions of NaIO3 at m from (0.02 to 0.15) mol · kg?1. Values of V? were determined from densities measured with a vibrating-tube densimeter, and values of Cp,? were determined with a twin fixed-cell, differential temperature-scanning calorimeter. Empirical functions of m and T were fitted to our results for each compound. Values of Ka, ΔrHm, and ΔrCp,m for the proton ionization reaction of aqueous HIO3 are calculated and discussed.  相似文献

A flow mixing calorimeter and a vibrating-tube densimeter have been used to measure excess molar enthalpies HmE and excess molar volumes VmE of {xC2H6 +  (1   x)SF6 }. Measurements over a range of mole fractions x have been made at T =  305.65 K and T =  312.15 K and at the pressures (3.76, 4.32, 4.88 and 6.0) MPa. The pressure 3.76 MPa is close to the critical pressure of SF6, the pressure 4.88 MPa is close to the critical pressure of C2H6, and the pressure 4.32 MPa is midway between these values. The measurements are compared with the Patel–Teja equation of state which reproduces the main features of the excess function curves as well as it does for similar measurements on {xCO2 +  (1   x)C2H6 }, {xCO2 +  (1   x)C2H4 } and {xCO2 +  (1   x)SF6 }.  相似文献
