Summary New neutral platinum complexes of Schiff bases or their hydrated derivatives were prepared and a new path to mixed ligand platinum(II) complexes is proposed. Reactions of [PtCl4]2– with multidentate Schiff bases give chelates which react further, resulting in cis-coordinated mixed N-donor ligand complexes. Structures are proposed on the basis of chemical analyses, electrical conductivities and i.r. studies.  相似文献

Summary Schiff bases (HL) produced by the condensation ofN-methyl-S-methyldithiocarbazate with -diketones and aromatic aldehydes or ketones react with [RuHClCO(PPh3)3] to yield hexacoordinated complexes of the type [RuClCO(PPh3)2(L)]. These Schiff bases react with [RuCl2{P(OR)3}4] in 11 molar ratio to yield [RuCl{P(OR)3}2(L)] in which L is a tridentate. The chlorine atom in the complex can be removed in coordinating solvents in the presence of anions such as [BPh4] to give cationic complexes. Bis chelate complexes, [Ru{P(OR)3}2(L)2] are prepared from 12 molar proportions of the reactants. These complexes were characterised by elemental analyses, i.r.,1H n.m.r., u.v. and conductivity studies.NCL Communication No. 4224.  相似文献

Two new reduced Schiff base ligands, [HL1 = 4-{2-[(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)-amino]-ethylimino}-pentan-2-one and HL2 = 4-[2-(1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylamino)-ethylimino]-pentan-2-one] have been prepared by reduction of the corresponding tetradentate unsymmetrical Schiff bases derived from 1:1: 1 condensation of 1,2-ethanediamine, acetylacetone and pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde/2-acetyl pyridine. Four complexes, [Ni(L1)]ClO4 (1), [Cu(L1)]ClO4 (2), [Ni(L2)]ClO4 (3), and [Cu(L2)]ClO4 (4) with these two reduced Schiff base ligands have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The mono-negative ligands L1 and L2 are chelated in all four complexes through the four donor atoms to form square planar nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes. Structures of 3 and 4 reveal that enantiomeric pairs are crystallized together with opposite chirality in the nitrogen and carbon atoms. The two CuII complexes (2 and 4) exhibit both irreversible reductive (CuII/CuI; Epc, −1.00 and −1.04 V) and oxidative (CuII/CuIII; Epa, +1.22 and +1.17 V, respectively) responses in cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemically generated CuI species for both the complexes are unstable and undergo disproportionation.  相似文献

A series of copper(II) complexes, CuL·imidazole, where L2? are tridentate Schiff base ligands formed by condensation of salicylaldehyde with a series of amino acids, have been synthesized. Visible spectral data indicate that copper(II) in these complexes are five coordinate in the solid state and in solution. Electrospray mass spectrometry has been used to show how these complexes react in alcohol/NaOH solutions with and without the presence of d-galactose. In the absence of d-galactose where the amino acid in the ligand is serine, the alcohol group on the ligand is converted to its alkyl ether after sonication of the solution for up to 4?h. In the presence of d-galactose, an alkoxy group is added to the ligands except for the ligand containing serine after sonication of the solutions for up to 4?h. At the same time, d-galactose is oxidized to its aldehyde. Where the ligand contains methionine, oxygen is also added to the ligand, most likely to the thioether sulfur.  相似文献

The ligands, 1-acetylferrocenehydrazinecarboxamide (HL1) and 1-acetylferrocenehydrazinecarbothioamide (HL2), and their Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes were synthesized. The properties of the synthesized compounds were determined by the elemental and spectroscopic analyses. Ni(II) and Co(II) acetates interact with the ligands at the molar ratios 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 to give coloured products. The complexes have octahedral geometry. The ligands are coordinated to Co(II) and Ni(II) centers via the azomethine nitrogen and thiolic sulfur /enolic oxygen atom. The ligands and their Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes were screened for antibacterial and antifungal activities. The Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes show enhanced inhibitory activity as compared to their parent ligands. The DNA cleavage activity of the Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes was determined by gel electrophoresis. It was shown that the complexes have better cleavage activity than the ligands. The antioxidant activity of the complexes was also evaluated and used to examine their scavenging ability on hydrogen peroxide.  相似文献

Three new Pd(II) complexes of Schiff base ligands, namely, [Pd4(L1)4] (1), [Pd2(L2)2Cl2] (2) and [Pd(L3)2Cl2] (3) [HL 1 ?=?N-(benzylidene)-2-aminophenol; L 2 ?=?N-(2,4-dichlorobenzylidene)-2,6-diethylbenzenamine, L 3 ?=?4-(2,4-dichlorobenzylide-neamino)phenol] have been synthesized using solvothermal methods and characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures of the free ligands were also determined. The ??-oxygen-bridged tetranuclear cyclometallated Pd(II) complex (1) contains four nearly planar units, in which PdII is four-coordinate. Complex 2 is a ??-chloro-bridged dinuclear cyclometallated Pd(II) complex, whereas complex 3 is mononuclear. The Heck reactions of bromobenzene with acrylic acid catalyzed by complexes 1?C3 have also been studied.  相似文献

Summary Some thorium(IV) complexes were synthesized with the tetradentate Schiff base ligands (N2O2 donor set) obtained by the condensation of ethylenediamine with salicylaldehyde (H2salen) or acetylacetone (H2 acacen). In all cases the neutral Schiff bases and not their anions are coordinated to the central thorium(IV) atom. The complexes have the general formula: ThL2Xa (L = H2 salen; X = Cl, Br, 1, NCS and L = lie acacen; X = Cl, 1, NCS, ClO4) or ThLX4 (L = H2 salen; X = NO3, ClO4 and L = H2 acacen; X = Br, NO3). The stoichiometry and coordination number of the complexes was determined on the basis of elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, i.r. spectra and t.g.a./d.t.a. data. The coordination number of the complexes is either 12 or 8 for the bisor monocomplexes respectively.  相似文献

The reactions of zinc(II) acetate with a variety of 2-substituted benzothiazolines afforded tetrahedral mononuclear complexes with a N 2S 2 donor set, [Zn(RPhC(H) NC 6H 4 S) 2]. The obtained zinc(II) complexes can be divided into three groups based on the characteristics of the absorption spectra; Group 1 (R = 2,4,6-triMe ( 1), 2,6-diCl ( 2)) showing an intense band at 250-300 nm and a weak band at 400-450 nm, Group 2 (R = 4-Cl ( 3), H ( 4), 4-Et ( 5), 4-OMe ( 6)) showing two intense bands at 250-300 nm and a weak band at 400-450 nm, and Group 3 (R = 4-NMe 2 ( 7), 4-NEt 2 ( 8)) showing an intense band at 250-300 nm and two very intense bands at 350-450 nm. The Group 2 and Group 3 complexes exhibited a strong emission on irradiating with ultraviolet light while the Group 1 complexes were not emissive at room temperature. However, all the zinc(II) complexes were luminescent in CH 2Cl 2/toluene glass at 77 K, and their emission peak energies were found to correlate with the Hammett constant of the substituent at para position of a pendent phenyl ring in each complex. Similar reactions of cadmium(II) acetate with 2-substituted benzothiazolines were also carried out to synthesize corresponding cadmium(II) complexes. While [Cd(RPhC(H) NC 6H 4 S) 2] (R = 2,4,6-triMe ( 9)) with bulky substituents at ortho positions of a pendent phenyl ring had a tetrahedral mononuclear structure, other cadmium(II) complexes [Cd 2(RPhC(H) NC 6H 4 S) 4] (R = 4-Et ( 10), 4-OMe ( 11), 4-NMe 2 ( 12)) possessed S-bridged dinuclear structures. These cadmium(II) complexes, which are assumed to have a mononuclear structure in solution, showed photophysical properties similar to those of the corresponding zinc(II) complexes.  相似文献

Four new copper(II) complexes of the composition [Cu(H2L)(H2O)] have been synthesized by template method from reaction of copper(II) acetate, succinoyldihydrazine and some o-hydroxy aromatic aldehydes and ketones in aqueous methanol media. The composition of the complexes has been established on the basis of data obtained from analytical and mass spectral studies. The structure of the complexes has been discussed in the light of molar conductance, magnetic moment, Uv-vis, EPR and IR spectral studies. All of the complexes are non-electrolyte in DMSO. The μeff values for the complexes fall in the region 1.76–1.85 BM which rules out the possibility of any M–M interaction in the structural unit of the complexes. The ligands coordinate to the metal centre in enol form through phenolate/naphtholate oxygen atoms and azomethine nitrogen atoms. The NMR spectra show that ligands are present in anti-cis configuration in uncoordinated state. In all of the complexes the copper centre adopts square pyramidal stereochemistry. The unpaired electron is present in dx2-y2 orbital in the ground state for copper centre in the complexes. The electron transfer reactions for the complexes have been studied by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Unsymmetrical Schiff base obtained by the condensation reaction of (1R,2R)(-)cyclohexanediamine with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde was used as a ligand for copper(II) and nickel(II). The ligand and complexes were characterized by circular dichroism (CD), UV-VIS, fluorescence, IR and (1)H (NOE diff), NOESY and (13)C NMR (ligand) spectra. The X-ray crystal structures solved for (1R,2R)(-)chxn(salH)(naftalH) and Cu(II)(1R,2R)(-)chxn(sal)(naftal) revealed tetrahedral distortion of coordination sphere in the solid phase. The [Cu(1R,2R)(-)chxn(sal)(naftal)]·0.5EtOH·1.25H(2)O complex crystallized in the monoclinic chiral C2 space group with two molecules in the asymmetric unit as well as disordered ethanol and water molecules. For both molecules Cu(II) ions were found in square-planar environments and adopts conformation described as "semi-open armed", because of distinctly oriented arms according to cyclohexane ring defined by three torsion angles. The thin layers of the ligands, copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes were deposited on Si(111) by a spin coating method and characterized with scanning electron microscopy SEM/EDS and fluorescence spectra. The ligand layers exhibit the most intensive fluorescence band at 498 nm, which can be assigned to emission transition π* → n of Schiff base ligand. For copper(II) layers the most intensive band from intraligand transition at 550 nm was observed. The highest intensity band was registered for the layer obtained when rotation speed was 1000 rpm and time 20 s. The nickel(II) complex layers fluorescence spectra exhibit an intensive band at 564 nm. The emission maxima of the copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes are shifted towards longer wavelength in comparison to the free ligand layers. CD spectra of the complexes in solution are characteristic for tetrahedral planar distortion of the chelate ring. The (1)H NMR NOE diff were measured and the position of the nearest hydrogen atoms in the cyclohexane and aromatic rings were discussed, suggesting the tetrahedral distortion of the central ion of the coordination sphere in solution.  相似文献

Three Ni(II) complexes of cresol-based Schiff-base ligands, namely [Ni2(L1)(NCS)3(H2O)2], (1) [Ni2(L2)(CH3COO)(NCS)2(H2O)] (2) and [Ni2(L3)(NCS)3] (3), (where L1 = 2,6-bis(N-ethylpyrrolidineiminomethyl)-4-methylphenolato, L2 = 2,6-bis(N-ethylpiperidineiminomethyl)-4-methylphenolato and L3 = 2,6-bis{N-ethyl-N-(3-hydroxypropyl iminomethyl)}-4-methylphenolato), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction in addition to routine physicochemical techniques. Density functional theory calculations have been performed to understand the nature of the electronic spectra of the complexes. Complexes 1?C3 when reacted with 4-nitrophenyl phosphate in 50:50 acetonitrile?Cwater medium promote the cleavage of the O?CP bond to form p-nitrophenol and smoothly convert 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol (3,5-DTBC) to 3,5-di-tert-butylquinone (3,5-DTBQ) either in MeOH or in MeCN medium. Phosphatase- and catecholase-like activities were monitored by UV?Cvis spectrophotometry and the Michaelis?CMenten equation was applied to rationalize all the kinetic parameters. Upon treatment with urea, complexes 1 and 2 give rise to [Ni2(L1)(NCS)2(NCO)(H2O)2] (1??) and [Ni2(L2)(CH3COO)(NCO)(NCS)(H2O)] (2??) derivatives, respectively, whereas 3 remains unaltered under same reaction conditions.  相似文献

Salt effects on reactivity are reported for base hydrolysis of tris-ligand-iron(II) complexes of several diazabutadiene and Schiff base ligands in aqueous solutions of alkali metal halides and of tetraalkylammonium bromides. The observed patterns vary markedly with ligand nature, the trend paralleling ligand hydrophilicity. These patterns of salt effects on reactivity are compared with those for a variety of other inorganic substitution reactions.  相似文献

Three unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base ligands, H2salipn, H2salipn-Br4 and H2salipn-Cl2, have been synthesized from the typical condensation reactions of treating 1,2-diaminopropane with salicylaldehyde, 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde and 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde, respectively. Treatment of [RuCl2(PPh3)3] with one equivalent of H2salipn or H2salipn-Br4 in the presence of triethylamine in tetrahydrofuran (THF) afforded the corresponding ruthenium(III) complexes [RuIIICl(PPh3)(salipn)] (1) and [RuIIICl(PPh3)(salipn-Br4)] (2). Interaction of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] with one equivalent of H2salipn-Cl2 or H2salipn-Br4 under the same conditions led to isolation of ruthenium(II) complexes [RuII(CO)(PPh3)(salalipn-Cl2)] (3) and [RuII(CO)(PPh3)(salalipn-Br4)] (4), respectively, in which one of the imine bonds was nucleophilically attacked by hydride to result in the formation of a mixed imine-amine ligand. The molecular structures of 1?1.5CH2Cl2, 2, 3?0.5CH2Cl2 and 4 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical properties of 14 were also investigated. Their cyclic voltammograms displayed quasi-reversible Ru(IV)/Ru(III) and Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples with Eo ranging from 0.67 to 1.05 V and 0.74 to 0.80 V vs. Ag/AgCl (0.1 M), respectively.  相似文献

Three novel Schiff base Cd(II) trimeric complexes, [Cd3(L1)2(SCN)2(CF3COO)2] (1), [Cd3(L1)2(SCN)2(HCONMe2)] (2) and [Cd3(L2)2{N(CN)2}2] (3) have been prepared from two different symmetrical Schiff bases H2L1 and H2L2 (where H2L1 = N1,N3-bis(salicylideneimino)diethylenetriamine, a potentially pentadentate Schiff base with a N3O2 donor set, and H2L2 = N1,N3-bis(3-methoxysalicylideneimino)diethylenetriamine, a potentially heptadentate Schiff base with a N3O4 donor set). All the complexes have been synthesised under similar synthetic procedures and their crystal structures have been established by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The ligands and their metal complexes have been characterised by analytical and spectroscopic techniques. Among the three complexes, 1 and 3 are linear whereas 2 is a cyclic trimer. In 1 and 3, all the doubly phenoxo bridged Cd(II) metal centres are in a distorted octahedral environment. In complex 2, two of the three Cd(II) centres reside in a distorted octahedral environment and the remaining one enjoys a monocapped octahedral geometry. Altogether the variety in the bridging mode of two new salen-type ligands has been established through these complexes.  相似文献

Metal complexes of general formula [Cu(L)](ClO4)2, [Ru(L)(PPh3)2]Cl2 and [Ru(L)(PPh3)Cl]Cl2[L = 1,4-di- (o-benzylidiminophenoxy/benzylidiminophenylthio)butane] containing N2O2 or N2S2 donor atoms have been prepared and characterised by spectral, magnetic and cyclic voltammetric studies. The rhombic nature of the e.s.r. spectra of the RuIII complexes indicates an asymmetry in the electronic environment around the Ru atom. e.s.r. spectra of the CuII complexes show a typical four-line spectrum with approximate tetrahedral distortion. The observed low A values in the CuII complexes, of the order of 132–160 × 10–4cm–1, indicates a tetrahedrally distorted square planar structure. The influence of modified ligands is reflected in the metal-centered redox potentials. CuII complexes having the N2S2 chromophore, in MeCN on a glassy carbon electrode, undergo quasi-reversible reduction in the 540–680 mV range. A depression in E1/2 values for the open chain N2S2 chromophoric macrocyclic CuII complexes, compared to electronically similar cyclic tetradentate CuII analogues, is due to the increased stabilization of the CuI state by added flexibility provided through the open chain donor sites.  相似文献

Mononuclear copper(II) Schiff base complexes, Cu(BrSal2Pn) (I) and Cu(BrSal2MePn) (II), where BrSal2Pn = N,N′-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)propane-1,3-diamine and BrSal2MePn = N,N′-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Also, the optimized geometries of them have been calculated using density functional theory method (B3LYP/6–31g). Obtained structural parameters are in agreement with the experimental data. The geometry around the copper atoms display a distorted square-planner structure by coordinating with two oxygen atoms from the phenols moieties and two nitrogen atoms from the imino groups of ligands and thus established three 6-membered rings.  相似文献

Summary Ni(LH)3LX complexes (LH=hypoxanthine or xanthine; X=Cl, Br or I) are formed by boiling under reflux 2:1 molar mixtures of LH and hydrated NiX2 in HC(OEt)3–MeCO2Et. The new complexes appear to be linear chain-like polymers, characterized by bidentate monoanionic L ligands singly bidging between adjacent Ni2+ ions. A coordination number six is attained by the presence of three terminal unidentate LH and one X ligand in the first coordination sphere of each Ni2+ ion. The neutral LH and monoanionic L ligands bind exclusivelyvia ring nitrogens to NiII. The probable binding sites of the uni- and bi-dentate hypoxanthine and ligands in the new complexes are discussed.Presented in part at the 3rd Chem. Congress of North America (LH=xanthine) and the XXVI ICCC (LH=hypoxanthine), see refs. 1 and 2, respectively.  相似文献
