In this paper, we consider a stationary model for a nucleon interacting with the ω and σ mesons in the atomic nucleus. The model is relativistic, and we study it in a nuclear physics nonrelativistic limit. By a shooting method, we prove the existence of infinitely many solutions with a given angular momentum. These solutions are ordered by the number of nodes of each component.  相似文献

In this paper we study a dynamic unilateral contact problem with friction for a cracked viscoelastic body. The viscoelastic model is characterized by Kelvin–Voigt's law and a nonlocal friction law is investigated here. The existence of a solution to the problem is obtained by using a penalty method. Several estimates are obtained on the solution to the penalized problem, which enable us to pass to the limit by using compactness results. To cite this article: M. Cocou, G. Scarella, C. R. Acad. We introduce a class of kinetic-type equations on the real line, which constitute extensions of the classical Kac caricature. The collisional gain operators are defined by smoothing transformations with rather general properties. By establishing a connection to the central limit problem, we are able to prove long-time convergence of the equation??s solutions toward a limit distribution. For example, we prove that if the initial condition belongs to the domain of normal attraction of a certain stable law ?? ??, then the limit is a scale mixture of ?? ??. Under some additional assumptions, explicit exponential rates for the convergence to equilibrium in Wasserstein metrics are calculated, and strong convergence of the probability densities is shown.  相似文献

We consider the problem of passing to the limit in a sequence of nonlinear elliptic problems. The “limit” equation is known in advance, but it has a nonclassical structure; namely, it contains the p-Laplacian with variable exponent p = p(x). Such equations typically exhibit a special kind of nonuniqueness, known as the Lavrent’ev effect, and this is what makes passing to the limit nontrivial. Equations involving the p(x)-Laplacian occur in many problems of mathematical physics. Some applications are included in the present paper. In particular, we suggest an approach to the solvability analysis of a well-known coupled system in non-Newtonian hydrodynamics (“stationary thermo-rheological viscous flows”) without resorting to any smallness conditions.  相似文献

The real rectangular tensors arise from the strong ellipticity condition problem in solid mechanics and the entanglement problem in quantum physics. In this paper, we study the singular values/vectors problem of real nonnegative partially symmetric rectangular tensors. We first introduce the concepts of l k,s -singular values/vectors of real partially symmetric rectangular tensors. Then, based upon the presented properties of l k,s -singular values /vectors, some properties of the related l k,s -spectral radius are discussed. Furthermore, we prove two analogs of Perron-Frobenius theorem and weak Perron-Frobenius theorem for real nonnegative partially symmetric rectangular tensors.  相似文献

In this Note, we present a result concerning the non existence of linear monotone schema with fixed stencil on regular meshes for some linear parabolic equation in two dimensions. The parabolic equations of interest arise from non isotropic diffusion modelling. A corollary is that no linear monotone 9 points-schemes can be designed for the one-dimensional heat equation emerged in the plane with an arbitrary direction of diffusion. Some applications of this result are provided: for the Fokker–Planck–Lorentz model for electrons in the context of plasma physics; all linear monotone scheme for the one-dimensional hyperbolic heat equation treated as a two-dimensional problem are not consistent in the diffusion limit for an arbitrary direction of propagation. We also examine the case of the Landau equation. To cite this article: C. Buet, S. Cordier, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 340 (2005).  相似文献

This paper provides a mathematically rigorous foundation for self-consistent mean feld theory of the polymeric physics. We study a new model for dynamics of mono-polymer systems.Every polymer is regarded as a string of points which are moving randomly as Brownian motions and under elastic forces.Every two points on the same string or on two diferent strings also interact under a pairwise potential V.The dynamics of the system is described by a system of N coupled stochastic partial diferential equations(SPDEs).We show that the mean feld limit as N→∞of the system is a self-consistent McKean-Vlasov type equation, under suitable assumptions on the initial and boundary conditions and regularity of V.We also prove that both the SPDE system of the polymers and the mean feld limit equation are well-posed.  相似文献

We show that the non-embedded eigenvalues of the Dirac operator on the real line with complex mass and non-Hermitian potential V lie in the disjoint union of two disks, provided that the L 1-norm of V is bounded from above by the speed of light times the reduced Planck constant. The result is sharp; moreover, the analogous sharp result for the Schrödinger operator, originally proved by Abramov, Aslanyan and Davies, emerges in the nonrelativistic limit. For massless Dirac operators, the condition on V implies the absence of non-real eigenvalues. Our results are further generalized to potentials with slower decay at infinity. As an application, we determine bounds on resonances and embedded eigenvalues of Dirac operators with Hermitian dilation-analytic potentials.  相似文献

We obtain a blow-up result for solutions to a semi-linear wave equation with scale-invariant dissipation and mass and power non-linearity, in the case in which the model has a “wave like” behavior. We perform a change of variables that transforms our starting equation in a strictly hyperbolic semi-linear wave equation with time-dependent speed of propagation. Applying Kato's lemma we prove a blow-up result for solutions to the transformed equation under some assumptions on the initial data. The limit case, that is, when the exponent p is exactly equal to the upper bound of the range of admissible values of p yielding blow-up needs special considerations. In this critical case an explicit integral representation formula for solutions of the corresponding linear Cauchy problem in 1d is derived. Finally, carrying out the inverse change of variables we get a non-existence result for global (in time) solutions to the original model.  相似文献

We present several numerical methods and establish their error estimates for the discretization of the nonlinear Dirac equation(NLDE) in the nonrelativistic limit regime, involving a small dimensionless parameter 0 ε≤ 1 which is inversely proportional to the speed of light. In this limit regime, the solution is highly oscillatory in time, i.e., there are propagating waves with wavelength O(ε~2) and O(1) in time and space, respectively. We begin with the conservative Crank-Nicolson finite difference(CNFD) method and establish rigorously its error estimate which depends explicitly on the mesh size h and time step τ as well as the small parameter 0 ε≤ 1. Based on the error bound, in order to obtain ‘correct' numerical solutions in the nonrelativistic limit regime, i.e., 0 ε■ 1, the CNFD method requests the ε-scalability: τ = O(ε~3) and h= O(ε~(1/2)). Then we propose and analyze two numerical methods for the discretization of NLDE by using the Fourier spectral discretization for spatial derivatives combined with the exponential wave integrator and timesplitting technique for temporal derivatives, respectively. Rigorous error bounds for the two numerical methods show that their ε-scalability is improved to τ = O(ε~2) and h = O(1) when 0 ε■1. Extensive numerical results are reported to confirm our error estimates.  相似文献

In this paper we consider symmetric games where a large number of players can be in any one of d states. We derive a limiting mean field model and characterize its main properties. This mean field limit is a system of coupled ordinary differential equations with initial-terminal data. For this mean field problem we prove a trend to equilibrium theorem, that is convergence, in an appropriate limit, to stationary solutions. Then we study an N+1-player problem, which the mean field model attempts to approximate. Our main result is the convergence as N→∞ of the mean field model and an estimate of the rate of convergence. We end the paper with some further examples for potential mean field games.  相似文献

We study boundary value problems posed in a semistrip for the elliptic sine-Gordon equation, which is the paradigm of an elliptic integrable PDE in two variables. We use the method introduced by one of the authors, which provides a substantial generalization of the inverse scattering transform and can be used for the analysis of boundary as opposed to initial-value problems. We first express the solution in terms of a 2×2 matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem whose “jump matrix” depends on both the Dirichlet and the Neumann boundary values. For a well posed problem one of these boundary values is an unknown function. This unknown function is characterised in terms of the so-called global relation, but in general this characterisation is nonlinear. We then concentrate on the case that the prescribed boundary conditions are zero along the unbounded sides of a semistrip and constant along the bounded side. This corresponds to a case of the so-called linearisable boundary conditions, however, a major difficulty for this problem is the existence of non-integrable singularities of the function q y at the two corners of the semistrip; these singularities are generated by the discontinuities of the boundary condition at these corners. Motivated by the recent solution of the analogous problem for the modified Helmholtz equation, we introduce an appropriate regularisation which overcomes this difficulty. Furthermore, by mapping the basic Riemann–Hilbert problem to an equivalent modified Riemann–Hilbert problem, we show that the solution can be expressed in terms of a 2×2 matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem whose “jump matrix” depends explicitly on the width of the semistrip L, on the constant value d of the solution along the bounded side, and on the residues at the given poles of a certain spectral function denoted by h(λ). The determination of the function h remains open.  相似文献

The Cauchy problem for a quasilinear parabolic equation with a small parameter ε at the highest derivative is considered. The initial function, which has the form of a smoothed step, depends on a “stretched” variable x/ρ, where ρ is another small parameter. This problem statement is of interest for applications as a model of propagation of nonlinear waves in physical systems in the presence of small dissipation. In the case corresponding to a compression wave, asymptotic solutions of the problem are constructed in the parameters ε and ρ independently tending to zero. It is assumed that ε/ρ → 0. Far from the line of discontinuity of the limit solution, asymptotic solutions are constructed in the form of series in powers of ε and ρ. In a small domain of linear approximation, an asymptotic solution is constructed in the form of a series in powers of the ratio ρ/ε. The coefficients of the inner expansion are determined from a recursive chain of initial value problems. The asymptotics of these coefficients at infinity is studied. The time of reconstruction of the scale of the internal space variable is determined.  相似文献

Most industrial products and processes are characterized by several, typically correlated measurable variables, which jointly describe the product or process quality. Various control charts such as Hotelling’s T2, EWMA and CUSUM charts have been developed for multivariate quality control, where the values of the chart parameters, namely the sample size, sampling interval and the control limits are determined to satisfy given economic and/or statistical requirements. It is well known that this traditional non-Bayesian approach to a control chart design is not optimal, but very few results regarding the form of the optimal Bayesian control policy have appeared in the literature, all limited to a univariate chart design. In this paper, we consider a multivariate Bayesian process mean control problem for a finite production run under the assumption that the observations are values of independent, normally distributed vectors of random variables. The problem is formulated in the POMDP (partially observable Markov decision process) framework and the objective is to determine a control policy minimizing the total expected cost. It is proved that under standard operating and cost assumptions the control limit policy is optimal. Cost comparisons with the benchmark chi-squared chart and the MEWMA chart show that the Bayesian chart is highly cost effective, the savings are larger for smaller values of the critical Mahalanobis distance between the in-control and out-of-control process mean.  相似文献

In this paper we study a delayed free boundary problem for the growth of tumors under the effect of inhibitors. The establishing of the model is based on the diffusion of nutrient and inhibitors, and mass conservation for the two processes proliferation and apoptosis. It is assumed that the process of proliferation is delayed compared to apoptosis. We mainly study the asymptotic behavior of the solution, and prove that under some assumptions, in the case where c1 and c2 are sufficiently small, the volume of the tumor cannot expand without limit; it will either disappear or evolve to a dormant state as t.  相似文献

The behavior of free classical pointlike particles is governed by conservation laws in the anti-de Sitter space. We present the general form of these laws and their realization in the Beltrami coordinates. In these coordinates, we can pass to the nonrelativistic limit resulting in physics in the R space. We construct the initial covariant distribution function for an ideal gas uniformly filling the entire R space.  相似文献

Let ρ be a real-valued function on [0, T], and let LSI(ρ) be a class of Gaussian processes over time interval [0, T], which need not have stationary increments but their incremental variance σ(s, t) is close to the values ρ(|t ? s|) as t → s uniformly in s ∈ (0, T]. For a Gaussian processesGfrom LSI(ρ), we consider a power variation V n corresponding to a regular partition π n of [0, T] and weighted by values of ρ(·). Under suitable hypotheses on G, we prove that a central limit theorem holds for V n as the mesh of π n approaches zero. The proof is based on a general central limit theorem for random variables that admit a Wiener chaos representation. The present result extends the central limit theorem for a power variation of a class of Gaussian processes with stationary increments and for bifractional and subfractional Gaussian processes.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the characteristic initial-boundary value problem (IBVP) for the multi-dimensional Jin-Xin relaxation model in a half-space with arbitrary space dimension n?2. As in the one-dimensional case (n=1, see (J. Differential Equations, 167 (2000), 388-437), our main interest is on the precise structural stability conditions on the relaxation system, particularly the formulation of boundary conditions, such that the relaxation IBVP is stiffly well posed, that is, uniformly well posed independent of the relaxation parameter ε>0, and the solution of the relaxation IBVP converges, as ε→0, to that of the corresponding limiting equilibrium system, except for a sharp transition layer near the boundary. Our main result can be roughly stated as Stiff Kreiss Condition=Uniform Kreiss Condition for the relaxation IBVP we consider in this paper, which is in sharp contrast to the one-dimensional case (Z. Xin and W.-Q. Xu, J. Differential Equations, 167 (2000), 388-437). More precisely, we show that the Uniform Kreiss Condition (which is necessary and sufficient for the well posedness of the relaxation IBVP for each fixed ε), together with the subcharacteristic condition (which is necessary and sufficient for the stiff well posedness of the corresponding Cauchy problem), also guarantees the stiff well posedness of our relaxation IBVP and the asymptotic convergence to the corresponding equilibrium system in the limit of small relaxation rate. Optimal convergence rates are obtained and various boundary layer behaviors are also rigorously justified.  相似文献
