Let (T, Σ, μ) be a measure space, E a Banach space, and Lp(E, μ) the Lebesque-Bochner function spaces for 1 < p < ∞. It is shown that Lp(E, μ) is smooth if and only if E is smooth. From this result a Radon-Nikodym theorem for conjugates of smooth Banach spaces is established, and thus a general geometric condition on E sufficient to ensure that Lp(E, μ)1 ? Lq(E1, μ) for all p, 1 < p < ∞. Alternate proofs of certain known results concerning the duals of Lp(E, μ) spaces are provided.  相似文献

Our paper treats the primal and dual program of ?p programming. ?p programming is a generalization of ?p approximation problems. There is a strict connection between ?p programming and geometrical programming, because in both of them geometrical inequality plays a fundamental role. The structure of our paper follows that of Klafszkys [1].In the first Sections duality theorems are proved, which play an important role in mathematical programming. Most of these results can be found in Petersons and Eckers [3,4,5], but our proofs are much more simple and we show these fundamental properties more detailed.Afterwards the relation between the Lagrange function and the optimal solution pair is investigated. Regularity is investigated as well and we show the marginal value of ?p programming. In the end linear programming ?p constrained ?p approximation problems, the quadratically constrained quadratic programming and compromise programming are shown as special cases of ?p programming.  相似文献

This is the fourth part in a series of papers developing a tensor product theory of modules for a vertex operator algebra. In this paper, we establish the associativity of P(z)-tensor products for nonzero complex numbers z constructed in Part III of the present series under suitable conditions. The associativity isomorphisms constructed in this paper are analogous to associativity isomorphisms for vector space tensor products in the sense that they relate the tensor products of three elements in three modules taken in different ways. The main new feature is that they are controlled by the decompositions of certain spheres with four punctures into spheres with three punctures using a sewing operation. We also show that under certain conditions, the existence of the associativity isomorphisms is equivalent to the associativity (or (nonmeromorphic) operator product expansion in the language of physicists) for the intertwining operators (or chiral vertex operators). Thus the associativity of tensor products provides a means to establish the (nonmeromorphic) operator product expansion.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a Ck/Cm/1/N open queueing system with finite capacity. We investigate the property which shows that a product of the Laplace Stieltjes Transforms of interarrival and service times distributions satisfies an equation of a simple form. According to this equation, we present that the stationary probabilities on the unboundary states can be written as a linear combination of vector product-forms. Each component of these products is expressed in terms of roots of an associated characteristic polynomial. As a result, we carry out an algorithm for solving stationary probabilities in Ck/Cm/1/N systems, which is independent of N, hence greatly reducing the computational complexity.  相似文献

We consider the finite exceptional group of Lie type G=E6ε(q) (universal version) with 3|q?ε, where E6+1(q)=E6(q) and E6?1(q)=2E6(q). We classify, up to conjugacy, all maximal-proper 3-local subgroups of G, that is, all 3-local M<G which are maximal with respect to inclusion among all proper subgroups of G which are 3-local. To this end, we also determine, up to conjugacy, all elementary-abelian 3-subgroups containing Z(G), all extraspecial subgroups containing Z(G), and all cyclic groups of order 9 containing Z(G). These classifications are an important first step towards a classification of the 3-radical subgroups of G, which play a crucial role in many open conjectures in modular representation theory.  相似文献

In this paper, we exploit basic formal variable techniques to study certain categories of modules for an (untwisted) affine Lie algebra , motivated by Chari-Pressleys work on certain integrable modules. We define and study two categories and of -modules using generating functions, where is proved to contain the well known evaluation modules and to unify highest weight modules, evaluation modules and their tensor product modules. We classify integrable irreducible -modules in categories and and we determine the isomorphism classes of those irreducible modules. We endow the homotopy category of well generated (pretriangulated) dg categories with a tensor product satisfying a universal property. The resulting monoidal structure is symmetric and closed with respect to the cocontinuous RHom of dg categories (in the sense of Toën [32]). We give a construction of the tensor product in terms of localisations of dg derived categories, making use of the enhanced derived Gabriel-Popescu theorem [27]. Given a regular cardinal α, we define and construct a tensor product of homotopically α-cocomplete dg categories and prove that the well generated tensor product of α-continuous derived dg categories (in the sense of [27]) is the α-continuous dg derived category of the homotopically α-cocomplete tensor product. In particular, this shows that the tensor product of well generated dg categories preserves α-compactness.  相似文献

For a simple ‐algebra A and any other ‐algebra B, it is proved that every closed ideal of is a product ideal if either A is exact or B is nuclear. Closed commutator of a closed ideal in a Banach algebra whose every closed ideal possesses a quasi‐central approximate identity is described in terms of the commutator of the Banach algebra. If α is either the Haagerup norm, the operator space projective norm or the ‐minimal norm, then this allows us to identify all closed Lie ideals of , where A and B are simple, unital ‐algebras with one of them admitting no tracial functionals, and to deduce that every non‐central closed Lie ideal of contains the product ideal . Closed Lie ideals of are also determined, A being any simple unital ‐algebra with at most one tracial state and X any compact Hausdorff space. And, it is shown that closed Lie ideals of are precisely the product ideals, where A is any unital ‐algebra and α any completely positive uniform tensor norm.  相似文献

Initial boundary value problems for the damped nonlinear wave equation wtt = σ(w)xx ? ywt arise in several areas of applied mathematics and, in particular, in studies of shearing flow in a nonlinear viscoelastic fluid; the problems of global existence and nonexistence of smooth solutions have been extensively studied in the strictly hyperbolic case σ′(δ) ? ε > 0, ?δ?R1 as well as in the case where σ′(0) > 0 and the initial data are chosen so small that σ′(w) > 0 for as long as a smooth solution w(x, t) exists. In this paper the global nonexistence problem is studied for the cases σ′(0) = 0 and σ′(0) > 0 but σ′(δ) < 0 for ¦δ¦ sufficiently large and growth estimates which are valid on the maximal interval of existence of a sufficiently smooth solution are derived.  相似文献

We describe the exponent of a group-theoretical fusion category C = C(G, ω, F, α) associated to a finite group G in terms of group cohomology. We show that the exponent of C divides both e(ω)expG and (expG)2, where e(ω) is the cohomological order of the 3-cocycle ω. In particular, expC divides (dim C)2.
