The dynamic behavior of partially delaminated at the skin/core interface sandwich plates with flexible cores is studied. The commercial finite element code ABAQUS is used to calculate natural frequencies and mode shapes of the sandwich plates containing a debonding zone. The influence of the debonding size, debonding location and types of debonding on the modal parameters of damaged sandwich plates with various boundary conditions is investigated. The results of dynamic analysis illustrated that they can be useful for analyzing practical problems related to the non-destructive damage detection of partially debonded sandwich plates.  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamic behavior of a buried rigid ellipticcylinder partially debonded from surrounding matrix under the action of anti-planeshear waves (SH waves). The debonding region is modeled as an elliptic arc-shapedinterface crack with non-contacting faces. By using the wave function (Mathieufunction) expansion method and introducing the dislocation density function as anunknown variable, the problem is reduced to a singular integral equation which issolved numerically to calculate the near and far fields of the problem. A complete analytical solution has been obtained of the elasticity problem for a plane containing periodically distributed, partially debonded circular inclusions, regarded as the representative unit cell model of fibrous composite with interface damage. The displacement solution is written in terms of periodic complex potentials and extends the approach recently developed by Kushch et al. (2010) to the cell type models. By analytical averaging the local strain and stress fields, the exact formulas for the effective transverse elastic moduli have been derived. A series of the test problems have been solved to check an accuracy and numerical efficiency of the method. An effect of interface crack density on the effective elastic moduli of periodic and random structure FRC with interface damage has been evaluated. The developed approach provides a detailed analysis of the progressive debonding phenomenon including the interface cracks cluster formation, overall stiffness reduction and damage-induced anisotropy of the effective elastic moduli of composite.  相似文献

A complete solution has been obtained of the elasticity problem for a plane containing a finite array of partially debonded circular inclusions, regarded as the open-crack model of fibrous composite with interface damage. A general displacement solution of the single-inclusion problem has been derived by combining the complex potentials technique with the newly derived series expansions. This solution is valid for any non-uniform far load and is finite and exact in the case of polynomial far field. Applying the superposition principle expands this theory to the multiple inclusion problem and provides a simple and rapidly convergent iterative algorithm. The presented numerical data show an accuracy and numerical efficiency of the proposed method and discover the way and extent to which the elastic interaction between the partially debonded inclusions affects the local fields, stress intensity factors and the energy release rate at the interface crack tips.  相似文献

The elastic field of an elliptic nano inhomogeneity embedded in an infinite matrix under anti-plane shear is studied with the complex variable method. The interface stress effects of the nano inhomogeneity are accounted for with the Gurtin–Murdoch model. The conformal mapping method is then applied to solve the formulated boundary value problem. The obtained numerical results are compared with the existing closed form solutions for a circular nano inhomogeneity and a traditional elliptic inhomogeneity under anti-plane. It shows that the proposed semi-analytic method is effective and accurate. The stress fields inside the inhomogeneity and matrix are then systematically studied for different interfacial and geometrical parameters. It is found that the stress field inside the elliptic nano inhomogeneity is no longer uniform due to the interface effects. The shear stress distributions inside the inhomogeneity and matrix are size dependent when the size of the inhomogeneity is on the order of nanometers. The numerical results also show that the interface effects are highly influenced by the local curvature of the interface. The elastic field around an elliptic nano hole is also investigated in this paper. It is found that the traction free boundary condition breaks down at the elliptic nano hole surface. As the aspect ratio of the elliptic hole increases, it can be seen as a Mode-III blunt crack. Even for long blunt cracks, the surface effects can still be significant around the blunt crack tip. Finally, the equivalence between the uniform eigenstrain inside the inhomogeneity and the remote loading is discussed.  相似文献

Summary A solution to the thin plate bending problem of partially bonded dissimilar strips with two bond lines is presented. The two strips are symmetrically bonded with respect to the interface which is on theX-axis. The complex stress functions approach together with the rational mapping function technique are used in the analysis. A concentrated bending moment applied at each strip is considered. Distributions of bending and torsional moments, as well as the stress intensity of debonding (SID) at the debonding tips are obtained, and the debonding extension is investigated.  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of determining the nonlinear bimodular stiffness properties, i.e., the tensile and compressive Young’s moduli and Poisson’s ratios, and the shear modulus, of particulate composite materials with particle–matrix interfacial debonding. It treats the general case in which some of the particles are debonded while the others remain intact. The Mori–Tanaka approach is extended to formulate the method of solution for the present problem. The resulting auxiliary problem of a single debonded particle in an infinite matrix subjected to a remote stress equal to the average matrix stress, for which Eshelby’s solution does not exist, is solved by the finite element method accounting for the particle–matrix separation and contact at the debonded particle–matrix interface. Because of the nonlinear nature of the problem, an iterative process is employed in calculating the stiffness properties. The predicted stiffness properties are compared to the exact solutions of the stiffness properties of particulate composites with body-centered cubic packing arrangement.  相似文献

We consider an arc-shaped conducting rigid line inclusion located at the interface between a circular piezoelectric inhomogeneity and an unbounded piezoelectric matrix subjected to remote uniform anti-plane shear stresses and in-plane electric fields. Moreover, one side of the rigid line inclusion has become fully debonded from the matrix or the inhomogeneity leading to the formation of an insulating crack. After the introduction of two sectionally holomorphic vector functions, the problem is reduced to a vector Riemann–Hilbert problem, which can be decoupled sequentially by repeated application of the orthogonality relations between the eigenvectors for two corresponding generalized eigenvalue problems.  相似文献

The effective elastoplastic behavior of a two-phase composite consisting of partially debonded elastic inclusions and a ductile matrix is investigated by a homogenization method. The method drew information from a recent study by the authors on the effective elastic moduli of the said composite and from an energy approach suggested by Qui and Weng, J. Appl. Mech., 59, 261 [1992] to address the homogenized plastic state of the heterogeneously deformed ductile matrix. Two types of partial debonding configuration are considered; the first is on the top and bottom of the aligned oblate inclusions and the other is on the lateral surface of the prolate ones, with special reference to spherical inclusions for both types of debonding. The transversely isotropic elastoplastic properties of the partially debonded composite are found to be highly dependent upon the debonding mode and the volume concentration and shape of inclusions. A damage mechanics based on Weibull's statistical function is also proposed to study the progressive partial debonding of the initially bonded composite under pure tension and under biaxial tension, respectively, for these two types of partial debonding. It is found that the interfacial strength, particle concentration, inclusion shape and debonding mode all play significant role in the overall response of the heterogeneous system during the progressive debonding process.  相似文献

Starting from Eshelby’s solution of the equivalent inclusion problem, an approximate solution is proposed in order to model interface debonding of a spherical inhomogeneity isolated in a uniform matrix. Both phases are linear elastic but the interface traction-separation law is non-linear. A semi-analytical incremental model is developed which is suitable for any type of loading. For computational efficiency, the model relies on two simplifying assumptions: (i) the eigenstrain is uniform inside the inhomogeneity and (ii) the interface compliance is averaged over inhomogeneity’s surface when computing the average strain within the inhomogeneity. An extensive parametric study is conducted for three loading modes and 144 combinations of non-dimensional parameters. The predictions are assessed against full-field finite element solutions based on two error measures of the mean stress field inside the inhomogeneity. The results show that the mean error value is acceptable in all cases and indicate the parameter ranges for which the model is most accurate.  相似文献

Summary In this paper, the scattering of SH waves by a magneto-electro-elastic cylindrical inclusion partially debonded from its surrounding magneto-electro-elastic material is investigated by using the wavefunction expansion method and a singular integral equation technique. The debonding regions are modeled as multiple arc-shaped interface cracks with non-contacting faces. The magneto-electric impermeable boundary conditions are adopted. By expressing the scattered fields as wavefunction expansions with unknown coefficients, the mixed boundary-value problem is firstly reduced to a set of simultaneous dual-series equations. Then, dislocation density functions are introduced as unknowns to transform these dual-series equations to Cauchy singular integral equations of the first type,which can be numerically solved easily. The solution is valid for arbitrary number and size of the arc-shaped interface cracks. Finally, numerical results of the dynamic stress intensity factors are presented for the cases of one debond. The effects of incident direction, crack configuration and various material parameters on the dynamic stress intensity factors are discussed. The stress fields of cylindrical and spherical multi-phase inhomogeneity systems with perfect or imperfect interfaces under uniform thermal and far-field mechanical loading conditions are investigated by use of the Boussinesq displacement potentials. The radius of the core inhomogeneity and the thickness of its surrounding coatings are arbitrary. The discontinuities in the tangential and normal components of the displacement at the imperfect interfaces are assumed to be proportional to the associated tractions. In this work, for the problems where the phases of the inhomogeneity system are homogeneous, the exact closed-form thermo-elastic solutions are presented. These solutions along with a systematic numerical methodology are utilized to solve various problems of physical importance, where the constituent phases of the inhomogeneity system may be made of a number of different functionally graded (FG) and homogeneous materials, and each interface may have a perfect or imperfect boundary condition, as desired. Also, the effect of the interfacial sliding and debonding on the stress field and elastic energy of an FG-coated inhomogeneity is examined.  相似文献
