Let X be a separable Banach space with dual X *. A countable family of elements {g i }X * is a p-frame (1 p ) if the norm X is equivalent to the p -norm of the sequence {g i ()}. Without further assumptions, we prove that a p-frame allows every gX * to be represented as an unconditionally convergent series g=d i g i for coefficients {d i } q , where 1/p+1/q=1. A p-frame {g i } is not necessarily linear independent, so {g i } is some kind of overcomplete basis for X *. We prove that a q-Riesz basis for X * is a p-frame for X and that the associated coefficient functionals {f i } constitutes a p-Riesz basis allowing us to expand every fX (respectively gX *) as f=g i (f)f i (respectively g=g(f i )g i ). In the general case of a p-frame such expansions are only possible under extra assumptions.  相似文献

For a sequence of constants {a n,n1}, an array of rowwise independent and stochastically dominated random elements { V nj, j1, n1} in a real separable Rademacher type p (1p2) Banach space, and a sequence of positive integer-valued random variables {T n, n1}, a general weak law of large numbers of the form is established where {c nj, j1, n1}, n , b n are suitable sequences. Some related results are also presented. No assumption is made concerning the existence of expected values or absolute moments of the {V nj, j1, n1}. Illustrative examples include one wherein the strong law of large numbers fails.  相似文献

A famous dominated compactness theorem due to Krasnosel’skiĭ states that compactness of a regular linear integral operator in L p follows from that of a majorant operator. This theorem is extended to the case of the spaces , with variable exponent p(·), where we also admit power type weights . This extension is obtained as a corollary to a more general similar dominated compactness theorem for arbitrary Banach function spaces for which the dual and associate spaces coincide. Peculiar properties of hermitian and positive n-times integrated C-cosine functions on Banach spaces are investigated. Among them are: (1) Any nondegenerate positiven -times integrated C-cosine function is infinitely differentiable in operator norm; (2) An exponentially bounded, nondegenerateC -cosine function on L p () (1L 1(), C0 , in case C has dense range) is positive if and only if its generator is bounded, positive, and commutes with C.  相似文献

In this paper we study Banach spaces that admit weighted Chebyshev centres for finite sets. Such spaces have been extensively studied recently by Veselý using the approach of finitely intersecting balls. Following his approach we exhibit large classes of Banach spaces that have this property. Certain stability results for spaces of vector valued continuous and Bochner integrable functions are also obtained.  相似文献

Let (e i ) be a dictionary for a separable infinite-dimensional Banach space X. We consider the problem of approximation by linear combinations of dictionary elements with quantized coefficients drawn usually from a ‘finite alphabet’. We investigate several approximation properties of this type and connect them to the Banach space geometry of X. The existence of a total minimal system with one of these properties, namely the coefficient quantization property, is shown to be equivalent to X containing c 0. We also show that, for every ε>0, the unit ball of every separable infinite-dimensional Banach space X contains a dictionary (x i ) such that the additive group generated by (x i ) is (3+ε)−1-separated and 1/3-dense in X.   相似文献

We prove that the K-groups of the Banach algebra of bounded, linear operators on the pth James space , where 1 < p < , are given by and . Moreover, for each Banach space and each non-zero, closed ideal contained in the ideal of inessential operators, we show that and . A Banach space X is said to be isomorphic to another Y with respect to the structure of Birkhoff-James orthogonality, denoted by XBJY, if there exists a (possibly nonlinear) bijection between X and Y that preserves Birkhoff-James orthogonality in both directions. It is shown that X?Y if either X or Y is finite dimensional and XBJY, and that ?p?BJ?q if 1<p<q<. Moreover, if H is a Hilbert space with dim?H3 and HBJX, then H=X. In the two-dimensional case, it turns out that ?p,q2BJ?22, which indicates that nonlinear Birkhoff-James orthogonality preservers between Banach spaces are not necessarily scalar multiples of isometric isomorphisms.  相似文献

In this paper the question of what classes A of T 0-spaces should be paired with classes of domains in order that all function spaces [AB] for AA and B are -compact domains is considered. 把王宜举等人[Modified extragradient—type method for variational inequali—ties and verification of the existence of solutions,J.Optim.Theory Appl.,2003,119:167-183]在欧氏空间上求解变分不等式的一个超梯度型方法推广到Banach空间.变分不等式中的算子不要求是一致连续的,其主要优点在于不管变分不等式是否有解,算法都是可执行的.此外,变分不等式的可解性可以通过算法产生的序列的性态来刻画.在适当的条件下,算法产生的序列强收敛于变分不等式的一个解,这是Bregman距离意义下离初始点最近的解.本文的主要结果推广和改善了近来文献中的相应结果.  相似文献

This paper discusses the special properties of the spectrum of linear operators (in particular, bounded linear operators) on quotient indecomposable Banach spaces; shows that in such spaces generators of Co-groups are always bounded linear operators, and that generators of Co-semigroups satisfy the spectral mapping theorem; and gives an example to show that the generators of Co-semigroups in quotient indecomposable spaces are not necessarily bounded.  相似文献

Suppose that X, Y are two real Banach Spaces. We know that for a standard ε-isometry f : X → Y, the weak stability formula holds and by applying the formula we can induce a closed subspace N of *. In this paper, by using again the weak stability formula, we further show a sufficient and necessary condition for a standard ε-isometry to be stable in assuming that N is w*-closed in Y*.Making use of this result, we improve several known results including Figiel's theorem in reflexive spaces.We also prove that if, in addition, the space Y is quasi-reflexive and hereditarily indecomposable, then L(f)≡span[f(X)] contains a complemented linear isometric copy of X; Moreover, if X =Y, then for every e-isometry f: X → X, there exists a surjective linear isometry S:X → X such that f-S is uniformly bounded by 2ε on X.  相似文献
