In this paper, we consider H control problem with measurementfeedback for flexible beam equation systems. The aim is to constructa finite-dimensional H controller with a given level for theflexible beam equation system. For that purpose, we first formulatethe system as an infinite-dimensional system in l2 and derivea finite-dimensional reduced-order system for the infinite-dimensionalsystem. Then, an H controller with level d less than is constructedfor the reduced-order model. The finite-dimensional controllertogether with a residual mode filter plays a role of a finite-dimensionalH controller with level for the original flexible beam equationsystem, if the order of the residual mode filter is chosen sufficientlylarge.  相似文献

The problem of H filtering of continuous-time systems with sampledmeasurements has been investigated. Both finite-and infinite-horizoncases have been considered. It has bas been shown that the sampled-dataH filtering problem can be solved in terms of a differentialRiccati equation with finite discrete jumps. When the systemis time-invariant with zero initial condition, and an infinitehorizon is concerned, the solution to the above problem is equivalentto a solution to a discrete-time algebraic Riccati equation.  相似文献

In this paper, a new method for robust H controller of uncertainsystems with time-varying state and control input delays isproposed. A sufficient condition, which is dependent on themaximum value of the time derivative of time-varying delay,is also presented for the existence of H controller. The proposedcontroller not only stabilizes closed-loop uncertain systemsbut also guarantees a prescribed H norm bound of the closed-looptransfer matrix from the disturbance to controlled output. Furthermore,we propose a new robust stability criterion to decide the allowedmaximum bound of plant uncertainty which still can be stabilizedby proposed robust controller. An example given illustratesthe availability of the proposed design method.  相似文献

On The Profinite Topology on a Free Group   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
If F is a free abstract group, its profinite topology is thecoarsest topology making F into a topological group, such thatevery group homomorphism from F into a finite group is continuous. It was shown by M. Hall Jr that every finitely generated subgroupof F is closed in that topology. Let H1, H2, ..., Hn be finitelygenerated subgroups of F. J.-E. Pin and C. Reutenauer have conjecturedthat the product H1 H2 ... Hn is a closed set in the profinitetopology of F; also, they have shown that this conjecture impliesa conjecture of J. Rhodes on finite semigroups. In this paperwe give a positive answer to the conjecture of Pin and Reutenauer. Our method is based on the theory of profinite groups actingon graphs.  相似文献

A Conjecture on the Hall Topology for the Free Group   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The Hall topology for the free group is the coarsest topologysuch that every group morphism from the free group onto a finitediscrete group is continuous. It was shoen by M.Hall Jr thatevery finitely generated subgroup of the free group is closedfor this topology. We conjecture that if H1, H2,...,Hn are finitelygenerated subgroups of the free group, then the product H1 H2...Hn is closed. We discuss some consequences of this conjecture.First, it would give a nice and simple algorithm to computethe closure of a given rational subset of the free group. Next,it implies a similar conjecture for the free monoid, which inturn is equivalent to a deep conjecture on finite semigroupsfor the solution of which J. Rhodes has offered $100. We hopethat our new conjecture will shed some light on Rhodes' conjecture.  相似文献

Let G be a group endowed with its profinite topology, then Gis called product separable if the profinite topology of G isHausdorff and, whenever H1, H2, ..., Hn are finitely generatedsubgroups of G, then the product subset H1 H2 ... Hn is closedin G. In this paper, we prove that if G=FxZ is the direct productof a free group and an infinite cyclic group, then G is productseparable. As a consequence, we obtain the result that if Gis a generalized free product of two cyclic groups amalgamatinga common subgroup, then G is also product separable. These resultsgeneralize the theorems of M. Hall Jr. (who proved the conclusionin the case of n=1, [3]), and L. Ribes and P. Zalesskii (whoproved the conclusion in the case of that G is a finite extensionof a free group, [6]).  相似文献

Let 2 m n. The paper gives necessary and sufficient conditionson the parameters s1, s2, ..., sm, p1, p2, ..., pm such thatthe Jacobian determinant extends to a bounded operator fromHs1p1 x Hs2p2 x ... x Hsmpm into S'. Here all spaces are definedon Rn or on domains Rn. In almost all cases the regularity ofthe Jacobian determinant is calculated exactly.  相似文献

We prove the quantum version - for Hecke algebras H An of typeA at roots of unity - of Kleshchev's modular branching rulefor symmetric groups. This result describes the socle of therestriction of an irreducible H An-module to the subalgebraH An–1. As a consequence, we describe the quantum versionof the Mullineux involution describing the irreducible moduleobtained on twisting an irreducible module with the sign representation.1991 Mathematics Subject Classification: 20C05, 20G05.  相似文献

Let U be a domain, convex in x and symmetric about the y-axis,which is contained in a centered and oriented rectangle S. Itis proved that Ht(U+)/Ht(U)Ht(S+)/Ht(S) where Ht stands forheat content, that is, the remaining heat in the domain at timet if it initially has uniform temperature 1, with Dirichletboundary conditions, where A+=A{(x,y):x>0}. It is also shownthat the analog of this inequality holds for some other Schrödingeroperators.  相似文献

Hopf-Cyclic Homology and Relative Cyclic Homology of Hopf-Galois Extensions   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Let H be a Hopf algebra and let Ms (H) be the category of allleft H-modules and right H-comodules satisfying appropriatecompatibility relations. An object in Ms (H) will be calleda stable anti-Yetter–Drinfeld module (over H) or a SAYDmodule, for short. To each M Ms (H) we associate, in a functorialway, a cyclic object Z* (H, M). We show that our constructioncan be used to compute the cyclic homology of the underlyingalgebra structure of H and the relative cyclic homology of H-Galoisextensions. Let K be a Hopf subalgebra of H. For an arbitrary M Ms (K)we define a right H-comodule structure on so that becomes an object in Ms (H). Under some assumptions on K and M we computethe cyclic homology of . As a direct application of this result, we describe the relativecyclic homology of strongly graded algebras. In particular,we calculate the cyclic homology of group algebras and quantumtori. Finally, when H is the enveloping algebra of a Lie algebra g,we construct a spectral sequence that converges to the cyclichomology of H with coefficients in a given SAYD module M. Wealso show that the cyclic homology of almost symmetric algebrasis isomorphic to the cyclic homology of H with coefficientsin a certain SAYD module. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification16E40 (primary), 16W30 (secondary).  相似文献

This paper deals with the robust H control problem of uncertainnonlinear stochastic systems with Markovian jump parameters. We assume that the uncertainties are structured such that suitablebounding functions can be found. A robust controller is thendesigned that will guarantee disturbance attenuation and asymptoticstability for all admissible uncertainties and L2-bounded disturbances. The solution to the problem is characterized in terms of a setof smooth-positive semidefinite functions satisfying certainHamilton-Jacobi-Isaac (HJI) inequalities with some appropriatescaling functions. Both the case of matched and unmatched uncertaintiesare considered.  相似文献

It is shown that the mod 3 cohomology of a 1-connected, homotopyassociative mod 3 H-space that is rationally equivalent to theLie group E6 is isomorphic to that of E6 as an algebra. Moreover,it is shown that the mod 3 cohomology of a nilpotent, homotopy-associativemod 3 H-space that is rationally equivalent to E6, and whosefundamental group localized at 3 is non-trivial, is isomorphicto that of the Lie group Ad E6 as a Hopf algebra over the mod3 Steenrod algebra. It is also shown that the mod 3 cohomologyof the universal cover of such an H-space is isomorphic to thatof E6 as a Hopf algebra over the mod 3 Steenrod algebra. 2000Mathematics Subject Classification 57T05, 57T10, 57T25.  相似文献

For n a positive integer, a group G is called core-n if H/HGhas order at most n for every subgroup H of G (where HG is thenormal core of H, the largest normal subgroup of G containedin H). It is proved that a locally finite core-n group G hasan abelian subgroup whose index in G is bounded in terms ofn. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification 20D15, 20D60, 20F30.  相似文献

Let P be an n-dimensional polytope admitting a finite reflectiongroup G as its symmetry group. Consider the set HP(k) of allcontinuous functions on Rn satisfying the mean value propertywith respect to the k-skeleton P(k) of P, as well as the setHG of all G-harmonic functions. Then a necessary and sufficientcondition for the equality HP(k) = HG is given in terms of adistinguished invariant basis, called the canonical invariantbasis, of G. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification 20F55,52B15.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the global existence, exponentialstability of solutions and associated nonlinear C0-semigroupas well as the existence of maximal attractors in Hi (i = 1,2, 4) for a nonlinear one-dimensional thermoviscoelasticitydescribing a kind of solid-like material. Some new ideas andmore delicated estimates are employed to prove the global existenceand exponential stability of solutions. The important featurefor the existence of maximal attractors in Hi+ (i = 1, 2, 4)is that the metric spaces H1+, H2+ and H4+ we work with arethree incomplete metric spaces, as can be seen from the physicalconstraints, i.e. > 0 and u > 0, with and u being absolutetemperature and deformation gradient (strain). For any positiveparameters 1, 2, ..., 5 verifying some conditions, a sequenceof closed subspaces Hi Hi+ (i = 1, 2, 4) is found, and theexistence of maximal attractors in Hi (i = 1, 2, 4) is established.  相似文献

Let A be a unital von Neumann algebra of operators on a complexseparable Hilbert space H0, and let {Tt, t 0} be a uniformlycontinuous quantum dynamical semigroup of completely positiveunital maps on A. The infinitesimal generator L of {Tt} is abounded linear operator on the Banach space A. For any Hilbertspace K, denote by B(K) the von Neumann algebra of all boundedoperators on K. Christensen and Evans [3] have shown that Lhas the form [formula] where is a representation of A in B(K) for some Hilbert spaceK, R: H0 K is a bounded operator satisfying the ‘minimality’condition that the set {(RX–(X)R)u, uH0, XA} is totalin K, and K0 is a fixed element of A. The unitality of {Tt}implies that L(1) = 0, and consequently K0=iHR*R, whereH is a hermitian element of A. Thus (1.1) can be expressed as [formula] We say that the quadruple (K, , R, H) constitutes the set ofChristensen–Evans (CE) parameters which determine theCE generator L of the semigroup {Tt}. It is quite possible thatanother set (K', ', R', H') of CE parameters may determine thesame generator L. In such a case, we say that these two setsof CE parameters are equivalent. In Section 2 we study thisequivalence relation in some detail. 1991 Mathematics SubjectClassification 81S25, 60J25.  相似文献

We study a preconditioner for the h-p version of the boundaryelement method for hypersingular integral equations in threedimensions. The preconditioner is based on a three-level decompositionof the underlying ansatz space, the levels being piecewise bilinearfunctions on a coarse grid, piecewise bilinear functions ona fine grid, and piecewise polynomials of high degree on thefine grid. We prove that the condition number of the preconditionedlinear system is bounded by maxj (1 + log Hjpj/hj)2 where Hjis the diameter of an element j of the coarse grid, hj is thesize of the elements of the fine grid on j, and pj is the maximumof the polynomial degrees used in j. Numerical results supportingour theory are reported. Received 9 March 1999. Accepted 19 July 1999.  相似文献

We produce a family of algebraic curves (closed Riemann surfaces)S admitting two cyclic groups H1 and H2 of conformal automorphisms, which are topologically (but not conformally) conjugate andsuch that S/Hi is the Riemann sphere . The relevance of thisexample is that it shows that the subvarieties of moduli spaceconsisting of points parametrizing curves which occur as cycliccoverings (of a fixed topological type) of need not be normal.1991 Mathematics Subject Classification 14H10, 30F10.  相似文献

Grushko's theorem [Mat. Sb. 8 (1940) 169–182] says thatany generating tuple (g1, ..., gm) of a free product H*K isNielsen-equivalent to a tuple (h1, ..., hl, kl+1, ..., km) withhi H and ki K for all i. The hi and ki are clearly not unique. In this paper we address the extent of this non-uniqueness.  相似文献

The singular homology groups of compact CW-complexes are finitelygenerated, but the groups of compact metric spaces in generalare very easy to generate infinitely and our understanding ofthese groups is far from complete even for the following compactsubset of the plane, called the Hawaiian earring: Griffiths [11] gave a presentation of the fundamental groupof H and the proof was completed by Morgan and Morrison [15].The same group is presented as the free -product of integers Z in [4, Appendix]. Hence the firstintegral singular homology group H1(H) is the abelianizationof the group . These results have been generalized to non-metrizable counterparts HI of H(see Section 3). In Section 2 we prove that H1(X) is torsion-free and Hi(X) =0 for each one-dimensional normal space X and for each i 2.The result for i 2 is a slight generalization of [2, Theorem5]. In Section 3 we provide an explicit presentation of H1(H)and also H1(HI) by using results of [4]. Throughout this paper, a continuum means a compact connectedmetric space and all maps are assumed to be continuous. Allhomology groups have the integers Z as the coefficients. Thebouquet with n circles is denoted by Bn. The base point (0, 0) of Bn is denoted by o forsimplicity.  相似文献
