Experimental results on the multiplicity distributions of various particles produced in the interactions of 7Li with emulsion nuclei at a momentum of 3 GeV/c per projectile nucleon are reported. A comparison with data on collisions induced by other nuclei at a nearly identical momentum per nucleon is presented in order to reveal the dependence on the projectile mass. The internal structure of 7Li is explored by studying the projectile fragment. The mean multiplicity of shower particles, 〈n s〉, induced by 7Li is found to be less than that in the case of 6Li projectiles. The angular distributions of target fragments and relativistic charged secondaries are investigated. No shock-wave phenomena are observed. Forward-to-backward ratios are calculated for each case. The probability distributions for relativistic secondaries produced per unit rapidity are studied in detail, along with the rapidity densities and their dependence on the projectile and the target mass. A comparison of the angular spectra of shower particles produced in central and peripheral collisions supports the limiting-fragmentation hypothesis. The collisions in question seem to become more central with increasing shower-particle multiplicity.  相似文献

Absolute coincidence cross sections for three-particle final states have been measured inplane in the 6Li + 118Sn and 6Li +208Pb reactions at incident energies of 22.2 and 23.0 MeV, respectively. Most strongly populated is the α + d branch, proceeding sequentially through the first excited state (Ex = 2.18 MeV, Jπ = 3+) of 6Li. The angular distributions are fitted by DWBA calculations including Coulomb interaction in the excitation of the projectile. The main competing reaction channels above and at the Coulomb barrier (118Sn: E/Ec ≈ 1.3; 208Pb: E/Ec ≈ 0.9) are: neutron transfer (6Li, αp) and the non-sequential α + d break-up of 6Li. The latter spectra are consistent with a quasi-free break-up mechanism. No 3He or tritons have been found in the coincidence spectra, as well as no evidence for a three-particle dissociation of 6Li into α + p + n.  相似文献

We calculate the inclusive momentum distribution of particles produced in a hadron-nucleus (hA) collision. The exchange of colour between the projectile and target nucleons leads to the formation of colour strings which are assumed to fragment like strings formed in deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering. Making a few basic hypotheses we consistently and parameterfree describe the projectile fragmentation region in collisions of the typehAh′X withh=p, π+ andh′=p, π+, π? at 100 GeV incident energy.  相似文献

The fragmentation of deuteron, 6He and 11Be have been studied during interaction with the 208Pb nucleus at various projectile energies. The Coulomb dissociation cross-sections and the momentum distribution of the break-up fragments have been analysed within the framework of the direct fragmentation model. The post-acceleration effect of deuteron during break-up and the halo structures of both the 6He and 11Be have been investigated.   相似文献

The cross sections for nonelastic break-up modes have been studied for the 6Li + 40Ca reaction at ELi = 156 MeV. Gamma-ray spectra from target-like residual nuclei were measured in coinci- dence with beam-velocity projectile fragments and a value for the nonelastic break-up cross section σb.unon = 582 ± 110 mb has been found. Together with results of inclusive charged-particle measure- ments we infer for the total break-up cross section σb.utot = 930 ± 115 mb comprising about 50% of the total reaction cross section. The nonelastic contribution of the break-up reaction appears to be less than predicted by the DWBA break-up theory. This result is directly evident from the differential cross sections by comparing inclusive and exclusive results.  相似文献

Correlation measurements of the reaction of stopped pion absorption 11B(π?, tt)X are made with a semiconductor double-arm charged particle spectrometer on a low-energy pion beam at the LAMPF meson factory. Analysis of a two-dimensional Dalitz plot and the momentum distribution of the residual nucleus allows us to identify the absorption of pions in a 6Li intranuclear cluster and demonstrate the configuration 6Li + 5Heg.s is present in the 11B nucleus.  相似文献

It is proposed that the major part of the low energy (l/v)6Li(n, α)3H cross section may be explained as being due to a direct deuteron exchange mechanism. This proposal is in agreement with recent experimental data on the spin-dependent6Li(n, α) cross section; it may be used to extract information on the6Li-αd vertex constant. The importance of the assumption of ad-exchange process for the6Li(n, α) angular distribution is discussed in the framework ofS-matrix theory.  相似文献

We have studied the optical beam-foil spectra of Li, Be, and Mg in the wavelength region 200–550 nm by use of a quantum efficiency calibrated monochromator at projectile energies of 210 keV for Li, 156, 256, and 356 keV for Be, and 100 keV for Mg. The relative population for different Rydberg levels of the same term series decreases in most cases somewhat faster than (n *)?3, as is also observed in ion-atom encounters under single collision conditions. The relative level population for levels of the same principal quantum number increases generally with the orbital angular momentum quantum number, and superimposed on this increase is a peaking forp levels. The relative population of levels of the same charge state and with the same core configuration is unaffected by change of the projectile energy.  相似文献

The results of an experimental study of the reaction 6Li(α, 2α)2H at 700 MeV are given. A comparison with the data from seven other reactions pertaining to the α+d cluster structure of 6Li is presented. The amplitude for the virtual transition 6Li→α+d obtained three of these experiments and the present one are comparable. The internal momentum distributions extracted with the plane-wave impulse approximation in four of the experiments are compatible with a pole form, the width parameter being given by the α-separation energy in 6Li. The remarkable consistency among these results is seen as evidence for the validity of the simple models used for both the reaction mechanism (PWIA) and to describe the α d-vertex (pole approximation) in 6Li.  相似文献

Experimental data on the momentum distributions of 4He nuclei originating from 6He and 6Li breakup on various targets are presented over a wide beam energy range. The experiment with 6He was performed at the DRIBs accelerator complex for radioactive beams at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna). The intensity of the 6He beam used was 5 × 106 particles per second and its energy was 10 MeV per nucleon. The momentum distributions of breakup products were measured by means of the MSP-144 magnetic spectrometer. The distribution width was shown to be virtually independent of the target mass. A small value of this width, σ ~ 28 MeV/c, confirms the presence of a halo in 6He. The measurements performed with 6Li beams of energy 18 and 46 MeV per nucleon at the U-400M accelerator yielded a width value of σ ~ 50 MeV/c for the momentum distributions of 4He nuclei, which is intermediate between that for 6He and those for stable nuclei. A compilation of the widths of the momentum distributions of fragments originating from the breakup of various nuclei is presented versus the binding energy of one or two neutrons in these nuclei, the target mass and the projectile energy.  相似文献

Inclusive charged particle spectra were measured from nuclear reactions induced by 156 MeV 6Li on 40Ca. At forward angles the spectra exhibit broad break-up distributions centered around the energy corresponding to the beam velocity. The double differential cross sections together with previous results for a 208Pb target were analyzed in the framework of the DWBA approach to projectile break-up taking into account elastic and inelastic reactions of the break-up fragments. The high energy tails of the background due to preequilibrium emission of complex charged particles were estimated on the basis of the coalescence model.  相似文献

The reactions 6Li(e,e′α) and 6Li(e,e′d) have been studied at T0 ≈ 520 MeV and q ≈ 1.4 fm?1, by coincidence measurements. The angular dependence of the cross sections is interpreted in the plane wave impulse approximation to obtain the momentum distribution of α-particle and deuteron clusters in 6Li. Inclusive alpha particle and deuteron spectra from collisions of 156 MeV6Li-ions with12C and208Pb were measured at extreme forward emission angles including zero degree. The measurements were performed with the Karlsruhe magnetic spectrograph ‘Little John’ and required an efficient reduction of the background from small-angle scattering. The observed double differential cross sections and angular distributions have been analysed on the basis of Serber's spectator break-up model. When going to angles smaller than grazing, where Coulomb effects are expected to be dominating, transitional features may appear. Corresponding effects probably associated with Coulomb break-up are observed with the208Pb-target and require a slight extension of the Serber approach. In the case of the12C-target the break-up cross sections in forward direction seem to reflect the shape of the internal momentum distribution of the alpha particle and deuteron cluster in the6Li-projectile and are in agreement with a 2S-type wave function. However, at larger angles the shape appears to be distorted, possibly by final state interactions.  相似文献

A formulation of the (6Li, 6He) spin-isospin-flip scattering problem is presented. The method is applicable to quasielastic collisions between6Li described in pureLS coupling scheme and any target nucleus which can be described in a shell model or an adiabatic deformed-nucleus model picture. The effective interaction responsible for the (6Li, 6He) reaction involves an integration of the (σ1 · σ2) (ρ1 · ρ2) compo nent of the central part and the (τ1· τ2) tensor part of the nucleon-nucleon interaction over the internal wave function of the projectile. The 48Ca(6Li,6He)48Sc reaction populating the (πf72νf72?1) multiplet in 48Sc is analysed. It that the tensor force makes some contribution to the transitions to high spin states.  相似文献

A DWBA formulation of the knockout-exchange scattering of composite projectiles having zero internal orbital angular momentum is presented. The model problem assumes a target nucleus heavy enough to allow the neglect of its recoil. The formalism accommodates any form of nucleon-nucleon potential containing central, tensor and spin-orbit terms which are treated on the same footing, with no multipole expansions. The nonlocal radial integrals assume transition nucleon exchange density matrices characteristic of finite potential well shell-model target and cluster model projectile wave functions. The usefulness of the formalism is demonstrated with a PWBA numerical application to the 26Mg(6Li, 6He)26Al reaction.  相似文献

A comparison of transverse momentum (P T) distribution of the alpha particles emitted as projectile fragments from12C-emulsion interaction at 4.5 A GeV/c with double Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution yields two temperatures in the projectile fragmentation region, i.e., 10 MeV and 40 MeV with different reaction mechanisms, thereby giving rise to two classes of events. This work presents a detailed study of the multiplicity characteristics for pions and protons emitted in both forward and backward hemispheres in these two classes of events. Detailed angular distributions for the elastic and inelastic scattering of 7Li at E = 36, 42, and 48 MeV and of 6Li at E = 38, 44, and 50 MeV by 54Fe have been measured. It is not possible to describe both sets of data with the same set of optical-model parameters. The ratio of UW is 0.8 for 7Li and 1.4 for 6Li at the strong absorption radius, implying stronger absorption for 7Li than for 6Li. No energy dependence in the optical-model parameters was necessary for either 6Li or 7Li. The inelastic scattering from the 54Fe 2+, 1.41 MeV state was well described by the DWBA and the extracted deformation length (βR = 0.62) was the same for both 6Li and 7Li scattering. It was not possible to describe the 7Li projectile excitation data with collective-model DWBA calculations showing that more detailed calculations for the projectile excitation are necessary.  相似文献
