Double spin effects in polarized pp-elastic scattering in the Coulomb nuclear interference (CNI) region are sensitive to small contributions to the nuclear amplitude in addition to Pomeron exchange dominating at high energies. Measurements of double spin asymmetries require external luminosity normalization using collision counts for all spin combinations. Several possible sources of such data from various STAR subsystems were thoroughly analyzed to make the best choice. BBC arrays were found to be free of double spin effects to the level of ~ 2 × 10?4 thus leading to the systematic uncertainty ~10?3 in the value of (A NN + A SS )/2.  相似文献

Lifetimes and feeding times of high spin states in 156 Er have been measured employing the recoil distance method in the reaction 123 Sb(37 Cl,4n) at bombarding energies of 158 and 166 MeV. The yrast states up to spin 20 ? were found to be collective. These levels are fed, however, from long-lived high spin states, causing time delays up to ~ 100 ps, the existence of which is interpreted as a signature for an oblate shape at high spin.  相似文献

The influence of in-plane magnetic field on spin polarization in the presence of the oft-neglected k3-Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling was investigated. The k3-Dresselhaus term can produce a limited spin polarization. The in-plane magnetic field plays a great role in the tunneling process. It can generate the perfect spin polarization of the electrons and the ideal transmission coefficient for spin up and down simultaneously. In energy scale, complete separation between spin up and down resonance was obtained by a relatively higher in-plane magnetic field while a comparatively lower in-plane magnetic field vanishes the spin separation. On the other hand, the spin relaxation can be suppressed by compensating the oft-neglected k3-Dresselhaus spin orbit coupling using a relatively lower in-plane magnetic field.  相似文献

87Rb and 39K nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of RbKSO4 single crystals were measured at room temperature. 87Rb central line has the angular dependences of second-order quadrupolar shifts. From these results, the quadrupole coupling constant and the asymmetry parameter were determined at room temperature. In addition, the spin–lattice relaxation rate, 1/T1, and the spin–spin relaxation rate, 1/T2, were measured as a function of temperature. The values of 1/T1 for the 87Rb and 39K nuclei were found to increase with increasing temperature, and 1/T1 was determined to be proportional to Tn. Therefore, for the 87Rb and 39K nuclei, Raman processes with n=2 are more significantly in nuclear quadrupole relaxation than direct processes.  相似文献

High spin states in85Rb and85Sr were populated in the reactions76Ge(12C,p2n) and76Ge(12C,3n), respectively. The lifetimes of twelve states were measured via the recoil distance Doppler shift technique. The positive parity bands in both nuclei associated with theg 9/2 orbit exhibit decrasingE2 strengths for increasing spin value marking the onset of multiparticle excitation.  相似文献

The gamma decay mode and the possible spin values of the second excited state of48Ca (E x =4.28 MeV) were investigated by studying the48Ca(p, p′γ) reaction at an incident proton energy of 10.30 MeV. No ground state gamma transition was observed. The analysis of thep 2 -γ angular correlation — using method II of Litherland and Ferguson — supports the spin assignmentI=0 for this level and excludes all spin values higher thanI=1.  相似文献

In a spin space, with noncommutative spinorial coordinatesC A which satisfyx AB =1/2{C A ,C *B }, we investigatex-dependent spin coordinate transformations which correspond to a local fermi-bose symmetry. The average magnitude and alignment of the intrinsic spin of the heavy partner from the reaction of 252 MeV 20Ne with 197Au and 238U were determined as a function of Q-value. These spin values were extracted from sequential fission angular distributions obtained in coincidence with projectile-like products. For all Q-values a large out-of-plane anisotropy was observed, while for large negative Q-values an in-plane anisotropy was observed. A very large entrance-channel mass-asymmetry was chosen to provide a stringent test of equilibrium statistical model predictions for the spin alignment. The importance of determining the direction of the line-of-centers of the dinuclear system at scission is discussed. Large values of PZZ were deduced for all Q- values. PXY was observed to be positive in the quasielastic region and negative in the deep-inelastic region. The extracted alignment data are compared to equilibrium statistical model calculations.  相似文献

High spin states of175, 176Pt have been populated in144Sm(35Cl,pxn) reactions at beam energies of 175–185 MeV. In-beamγ-ray spectroscopic techniques using the ESSA30 spectrometer array were adopted. Levels up to spin 26 in176Pt and tentatively up to spin 45/2 in175Pt have been identified. The data are interpreted within the framework of Cranked Shell Model calculations using the deformed Woods-Saxon potential and including monopole pairing.  相似文献

In single crystal colquiriite LiCaAlF6 doped with Gd3+ ions two EPR spectra of the Gd3+ ions with the Laue site-symmetry groups Ci and C3i were observed. The spectrum angular dependence for trigonal Gd3+ centre was investigated in detail and corresponding spin Hamiltonian parameters were fitted. From analysis of the spin Hamiltonian tensorsB 4 andB 6 it was established that Gd3+ with the Laue group C3i substitutes at Ca2+ site with the excess charge compensation by an ion located along the threefold axis from this site. The transformation formulas for a sixth-rank irreducible Hermitian tensor under coordinate rotation are tabulated in an explicit form. By using the EPR data for Gd3+ substituted in a variety of host crystals, the fourth-rank and sixth-rank tensors of Gd3+ spin Hamiltonians were tabulated and correlated with structures of the coordination polyhedra at substitution sites. The results suppose a predominance of quadratic crystal field contributions into the spin Hamiltonian tensorB 4 of Gd3+.  相似文献

The spin structure of the nucleon can play a key testing ground for the Quantum Chromo-Dynamics(QCD) at wide kinematic ranges from smaller to large four momentum transfer Q 2. It is far more challenging to understand the QCD at small Q 2 region due to the non-perturbative nature. Jefferson Lab has been one of the major experimental facilities for the spin structure with its polarized electron beams and various polarized targets. A few QCD sum rules have been compared with the measured spin structure functions g 1 and g 2 at low Q 2 and the most surprising results have been obtained for the spin polarizabilities, γ 0 and δ LT .  相似文献

Spin crossover behavior in tris(N,N′-dialkyldithiocarbamato) iron(III) complexes with varying alkyl groups has been studied by variable temperature magnetic moment and Mössbauer spectral studies. All the complexes may be divided into three broad groups; high spin (μ eff > 4.8 BM), intermediate spin (μ eff?=?3.5???4.6 BM) and low spin (μ eff?< 3.2 B.M). Room temperature (RT) Mössbauer spectra exhibit an asymmetric doublet resolved into two doublets corresponding to high and low spin states. Estimated % contributions of HS and LS states and calculated μ eff were comparable with the experimentally determined values. It has been shown that some complexes undergo spin crossover, 6A1g→2T2g whereas others exhibit spin transitions 6A1g →4T1g or 4T1g → 2T2g. IR spectra show characteristic ν (Fe???S) bands in the region 208–285 (HS) and 311–380 cm???1 (LS). Nature of alkyl groups affects the spin state.  相似文献

A spectroscopic study is performed for high spin states of55Fe,55Co and57Ni. To populate the investigated residues with a relevant cross section, the fusion evaporation reactions of30Si(28Si, 2pn)55Fe,30Si(28Si, 2np)55Co and4He(54Fe,n)57Ni were chosen. To identify the newγ transitions and to build the energy level schemes,γ — γ coincidence techniques together with excitation functions were employed. Angular distributions andγ — γ angular correlations allowed us to assign the spin values of the nuclear states. The previous level scheme of55Fe is extended into the region between 6.5–11 MeV of excitation energy, up to spin 27/2, while the yrast decay paths of57Ni and55Co are reported here for the first time. Experimental data are fairly well reproduced by Glaudemans' shell model calculations.  相似文献

A Na target has been polarized by brute force to 22% and the γ-radiation produced by polarized thermal neutron capture has been investigated. The Jπ = 2+ channel spin contribution has been determined model-independently and unambiguously for 22 primary transitions. The average Jπ = 2+ channel contribution is 5.8(5)%. The data resulted in one spin assignment and two spin restrictions. The energies and lifetimes of positive-parity levels as well as branching ratios and the magnetic moment of the ground state are in agreement with a shell-model calculation in the complete sd shell.  相似文献

We discuss the idea that the nontrivial vacuum structure in QCD may induce transverse momentum and spin correlations of the initial state partons in Drell-Yan type reactions, i.e. in hadron-hadron collisions with production of a vector bosonV=γ *,Z,W ±. Transverse momentum correlations are found to have practically no effect on observable quantities, but spin correlations have drastic consequences for the polarization density matrices of theV-bosons. We therefore propose measurements of theV polarization as a good test for the basic factorization hypothesis which, so far, has been assumed to be valid in numerous applications of the naive and QCD-improved parton model. We compare our ansatz for a spin correlation violating factorization with data from the NA 10 collaboration onγ * production inπ ? N scattering. We find that the data give an indication of spin correlations of the partons in the initial state to be present.  相似文献

We report the first observations of optically induced electron spin resonance signals in doped and undoped amorphous silicon. We also report the observation of equilibrium surface or interface spin densities ~ 1013cm?2 and volume spin densities ~ 6 × 1015 cm?3. The small number of spins observed in equilibrium compared to the large optically induced spin density shows that most electrons are spin paired in equilibrium. We conclude that this implies a very small mean effective correlation energy, UkT.  相似文献

We discuss the design and performance of a very sensitive low-field magnetometer based on the detection of free spin precession of gaseous, nuclear polarized 3He or 129Xe samples with a SQUID as magnetic flux detector. Characteristic spin precession times $T_2^\ast$ of up to 115 h were measured in low magnetic fields (about 1 μT) and in the regime of motional narrowing. With the detection of the free precession of co-located 3He/129Xe nuclear spins (clock comparison), the device can be used as ultra-sensitive probe for non-magnetic spin interactions, since the magnetic dipole interaction (Zeeman-term) drops out in the weighted frequency difference, i.e., Δω?=?ω He ???γ He /γ Xe ·ω Xe . We report on searches for Lorentz violating signatures by monitoring the Larmor frequencies of co-located 3He/129Xe spin samples as the laboratory reference frame rotates with respect to distant stars (sidereal modulation).  相似文献

We investigate spin squeezing and the mean quantum Fisher information per particle χ 2 for mixed Hamiltonian model. By adopting frozen-spin approximation, we first derive a analytical expression of spin squeezing parameter ξ 2 and then numerically calculate ξ 2 and χ 2. It is shown that most of the time the spin squeezing appears alternatively in the x and y directions, but it cannot appear simultaneously in the two directions. It is also shown that the smaller external field strength induces better entanglement and larger period.  相似文献
