We show that time- and phase-resolved two-color nonlinear wave packet interferometry can be used to reconstruct the probability amplitude of an optically prepared molecular wave packet without prior knowledge of the underlying potential surface. We analyze state reconstruction in pure- and mixed-state model systems excited by shaped laser pulses and propose nonlinear wave packet interferometry as a tool for identifying optimized wave packets in coherent control experiments.  相似文献

Employing the two-state model and the time-dependent wave packet method, we have investigated the influences of the parameters of the intense femtosecond laser field on the evolution of the wave packet, as well as the population of ground and double-minimum electronic states of the NaRb molecule. For the different laser wavelengths, the evolution of the wave packet of 6{ }^1\Sigma ^ + state with time and internuclear distance is different, and the different laser intensity brings different influences on the population of the electronic states of the NaRb molecule. One can control the evolutions of wave packet and the population in each state by varying the laser parameters appropriately, which will be a benefit for the light manipulation of atomic and molecular processes.  相似文献

The shift of the atomic ground state due to the interaction with an external limited nonresonant laser field and vacuum fluctuation is calculated in resolvent formalism. The shift operator ¯R is taken to the fourth order of perturbation expansion. It is shown that the term which mixes these two interactions gives a slight correction to the total shift, which can be expressed by the Lamb shift of the excited state.  相似文献

Intense, nonresonant laser fields produce Stark shifts that strongly modify the potential energy surfaces of a molecule. A vibrational wave packet can be guided by this Stark shift if the laser field is appropriately modulated during the wave packet motion. We modulated a 70 fs laser pulse with a period on the time scale of the vibrational motion (approximately 10 fs) by mixing the signal and idler of an optical parametric amplifier. We used ionization of H2 or D2 to launch a vibrational wave packet on the ground state of H2(+) or D2(+). If the laser intensity was high as the wave packet reached its outer turning point, the Stark shift allowed the molecule to dissociate through bond softening. On the other hand, if the field was small at this critical time, little dissociation was measured. By changing the modulation period, we achieved control of the dissociation yield with a contrast of 90%.  相似文献

We perform a reconstruction of the polarization sector of the density matrix of an intense polarization squeezed beam starting from a complete set of Stokes measurements. By using an appropriate quasidistribution, we map this onto the Poincaré space, providing a full quantum mechanical characterization of the measured polarization state.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the control of the molecular wave packet of a linear molecule by two femtosecond laser pulses. It is shown that the odd and the even rotational wave packets created by a single laser pulse can be selectively excited by accurately controlling the time delay of another laser pulse. By inserting the peak of the second laser pulse at the position of maximum or minimum value around quarter or three quarter rotational period of the slope curve with odd (or even) rotational wave packet contribution that is created by the first laser pulse, the odd rotational wave packet can be enhanced (or suppressed) while the even rotational wave packet is suppressed (or enhanced). As a result, the molecular alignments around quarter and three quarter rotational periods can be obtained. Moreover, it is also shown that by inserting the second laser pulse around the quarter or three quarter rotational periods, the changes in the maximum degree of the molecular alignment for the odd and the even rotational wave packet contributions are consistent with their corresponding slope curves at these positions.  相似文献

The radiation emitted by a single-electron wave packet in an intense laser field is considered. A relation between the exact quantum formulation and its classical counterpart is established via the electron's Wigner function. In particular, we show that the wave packet, even when it spreads to the scale of the wavelength of the driving laser field, cannot be treated as an extended classical charge distribution, but rather behaves as a pointlike emitter carrying information on its initial quantum state. We outline an experimental setup dedicated to put this conclusion to the test.  相似文献

The physical mechanism of strong field quantum control using chirped femtosecond laser pulses is investigated. Dressed state control is exerted by making explicit use of the temporal phase changes of the pulse. In our experiment, the dressed state population is mapped by photoelectron spectra from simultaneous excitation and ionization of potassium atoms as a function of the chirp parameter. We show that chirped pulses can be used to selectively steer ground state atoms temporarily into a single dressed state realizing transient Selective Population of Dressed States (SPODS). 利用LAMMPS程序研究了氢原子团簇在飞秒强激光场下的动力学行为, 讨论了引起小氢原子团簇各向异性膨胀的原因.通过对外电离过程中团簇内部电子的行为以及团簇各个方向上最外层质子距离团簇中心的距离随时间的变化情况的分析, 发现团簇的膨胀呈现各向异性,且引起这种各向异性的根源在于团簇内部电子的抖动以及逃逸.对氢原子团簇与强激光场相互作用过程中质子各能量分量以及各向异性程度随时间变化情况进行了研究,发现各向异性程度是随时间变化的, 这种各向异性程度首先随着激光电场的增强而增加,随后又逐渐减小,直到最后趋于某一大于1的稳定值.分析了激光脉冲结束后质子的平均能量与观测角之间的关系, 并将分析结果与Ditmire小组的实验结果进行了比较,发现我们的模拟结果在定性上与实验相符合.  相似文献

The wave packet evolution of an atom irradiated by an intense laser pulse is systematically investigated by using the numerical solution of the time-dependent Schr ?dinger equation. There are two types of spatial interference structures in the time-dependent evolution of the atomic wave packet. With the increasing of the evolution time, the interference fringe spacing for type Ⅰ(type Ⅱ) becomes larger(smaller). As the wavelength of the incident laser increases, the interference of the wave packet is changed from type Ⅱ to type Ⅰ, and the shift of interference type can be attributed to the contribution of excited states by using the energy analysis of the time-dependent wave function.  相似文献

We consider the new mechanism of X-ray generation by clusters under irradiation by femtosecond laser pulses, the so-called collective photorecombination. We develop the theory of the photo-recombination of electrons that pass from atomic clusters at the outer ionization to the ground level of a homogeneously charged cluster. Such a cluster is considered to be a quantum potential well. The dipole approximation is inapplicable for this process. We conclude that X-ray photons in collective photorecombination on a charged cluster as a whole have an energy that is much larger than that for photorecombination on separate atomic ions inside the cluster. For a typical cluster of 2.25 × 106 electrons, with a radius R = 300 Å, and a number density of plasma electrons n e = 2 × 1022 cm?3, we find that at a 5% outer ionization of this cluster, the energy of hard X-ray photons is 7.2 keV.  相似文献

We studied the ionization and dissociation of polyatomic molecule methane in an intense femtosecond laserfield with wavelength of 810 nm and intensities ranging from 1.4×10~(14)to 2.6×10~(15) W/cm~2 by massspeetroscopy.Abundant fragment inos were observed in addition to the strong parent ion.The effect offrequency chirp was investigated and it was found that the negatively chirped pulses dramatically enhancedthe dissociation probability,which might be used to control the dissociation pathways.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate the Coulomb explosion process of CS_2 molecule under a near-infrared(800 nm)intense femtosecond laser field by a DC-sliced ion imaging technique. We obtain the DC-sliced images of these fragment ions S~+, S~(2+), CS~+, and CS~(2+)by breaking one C–S bond, and assign their Coulomb explosion channels by considering their kinetic energy release and angular distribution. We also numerically simulate the dissociation dynamics of parent ions CS_2~(k+)(k = 2–4) by a Coulomb potential approximation, and obtain the time evolution of Coulomb energy and kinetic energy release, which indicates that the dissociation time of parent ions CS_2~(k+) decreases with the increase of the charge number k.These experimental and theoretical results can serve as a useful benchmark for those researchers who work in the related area.  相似文献

Using a recently developed approach for treating the three-dimensional anisotropic scattering we find considerable influence of a nonresonant laser field with intensity I> or =10(5) W/cm(2) on the Cs-Cs ultracold collisions. Strong dependence on the laser wavelength lambda(L) is shown at the optical region as lambda(L) becomes shorter than the critical value lambda(0) approximately 3000 nm (of the atomic de Broglie wave lambda) defining the region lambda(0)< or =lambda of the s-wave domination in the absence of the external field. Dependence on the laser polarization is also essential. The found effect can be applicable for controlling atom-atom interactions at ultralow temperatures.  相似文献

Rotational wave packet revivals on an excited electronic state have been measured by femtosecond time-resolved photoelectron imaging for the first time. The first full revival at 82 ps of S1 (n,pi*) pyrazine was clearly observed in the time dependencies of the photoelectron intensity and the photoelectron angular distribution (PAD). The PAD, measured for laser aligned pyrazine, clearly reflects the different characters of pi* and 3s molecular orbitals.  相似文献

The quantal behaviour of wave packet periodically kicked by a quadratic potential has been investigated using Floquet theory. The wave function of the particle afterN kicks has been determined. This wave function has been utilized to obtain the packet width, energy and loss of memory as a function of the number of kicks. It has also been shown that the free particle wave packet quasienergy spectrum makes a transition from discrete to absolutely continuous atɛ T=2.
