Global Existence and the Optimal Decay Rates for the Three Dimensional Compressible Nematic Liquid Crystal Flow

The present paper is dedicated to the study of the Cauchy problems for the three-dimensional compressible nematic liquid crystal flow. We obtain the global existence and the optimal decay rates of smooth solutions to the system under the condition that the initial data in lower regular spaces are close to the constant equilibrium state. Our main method is based on the spectral analysis and the smooth effect of dissipative operator.

二维Stokes近似系统弱解的全局存在性

本文主要考虑了二维可压流体的Stokes近似系统,我们运用类似于Eduard Feireisl的方法证明了Stokes近似系统在,γ=1与γ>1时弱解的全局存在性.     

三维Keller-Segel-Navier-Stokes方程弱解的整体存在性

本文证明具有logistic源的一个3维Keller-Segel-Navier-Stokes方程弱解的整体存在性,并研究了弱解的长时间行为.     

Existence of Global Weak Solutions for Coupled Thermoelasticity under Non-Linear Boundary Conditions

The existence of global weak solutions for coupled thermoelasticity with non-linear contact boundary conditions corresponding to the friction problem is considered. The time-continuous Galerkin method and a priori estimates obtained with Gronwall's inequality in connection with embedding theorems are applied to accomplish a straightforward generalization of one of the results proved by Martins and Oden 9.     

一类强交错扩散的捕食模型弱解的整体存在性

考虑一类带有强交错扩散项的捕食模型解的整体存在性.借助于有限差分方法和熵不等式的相关性质及结论,证明了在高维空间上,该问题有整体存在的弱解.此外,还说明了所得的这个弱解是非负解.     

A Finite Element Algorithm for Nematic Liquid Crystal Flow Based on the Gauge-Uzawa Method

In this paper,we present a finite element algorithm for the time-dependent nematic liquid crystal flow based on the Gauge-Uzawa method.This algorithm combines the Gauge and Uzawa methods within a finite element variational formulation,which is a fully discrete projection type algorithm,whereas many projection methods have been studied without space discretization.Besides,error estimates for velocity and molecular orientation of the nematic liquid crystal flow are shown.Finally,numerical results are given to show that the presented algorithm is reliable and confirm the theoretical analysis.     

Weak Global Dimension of Coherent Rings

In this article, we study the weak global dimension of coherent rings in terms of the left FP-injective resolutions of modules. Let R be a left coherent ring and ? ? the class of all FP-injective left R-modules. It is shown that wD(R) ≤ n (n ≥ 1) if and only if every nth ? ?-syzygy of a left R-module is FP-injective; and wD(R) ≤ n (n ≥ 2) if and only if every (n ? 2)th ? ?-syzygy in a minimal ? ?-resolution of a left R-module has an FP-injective cover with the unique mapping property. Some results for the weak global dimension of commutative coherent rings are also given.     

Global Existence of Large BV Solutions in a Model of Granular Flow

In this paper we analyze a set of equations proposed by Hadeler and Kuttler [20 Hadeler , K. P. , Kuttler , C. ( 1999 ). Dynamical models for granular matter . Granular Matter 2 : 9 – 18 . [Google Scholar]], describing the flow of granular matter in terms of the heights of a standing layer and of a moving layer. By a suitable change of variables, the system can be written as a 2 × 2 hyperbolic system of balance laws, which we study in the one-dimensional case. The system is linearly degenerate along two straight lines in the phase plane, and therefore is weakly linearly degenerate at the point of the intersection. The source term is quadratic, consisting of product of two quantities, which are transported with strictly different speeds. Assuming that the initial height of the moving layer is sufficiently small, we prove the global existence of entropy-weak solutions to the Cauchy problem, for a class of initial data with bounded but possibly large total variation.

Global Existence and Asymptotic Limits of Weak Solutions of the Bipolar Hydrodynamic Model for Semiconductors

For the case of the adiabatic exponents being larger than , we establish the global existence of entropy weak solutions of the Cauchy problem to the bipolar hydrodynamic model for semiconductors. Using the theory of compensated compactness, we hence give finally a complete answer on the related existence problems with the -law pressure relation. A new kind of singular limit of the modified entropy weak solution is discussed. To some extent, the limit of this sort can provide some information about the uniform boundedness of the scaled solution sequences. The quasineutral-relaxation limit of the entropy weak solutions is also investigated.

A system of partial differential equations modelling a steady-statespace-charge problem is studied. The existence of a weak solutionis proved using an elliptic regularization under quite generalboundary conditions.
