We obtain close two-sided estimates for the best approximation of Laplace operator by linear bounded operators on the class of functions for which the square of the Laplace operator belongs to the L p -space. We estimate the best constant in the corresponding Kolmogorov inequality and the error of the optimal recovery of values of the Laplace operator on functions from this class defined with an error. In a particular case (p = 2) we solve all three problems exactly.  相似文献

We study the approximation of the classes of functions by the manifold R n formed by all possible linear combinations of n ridge functions of the form r(a · x)): It is proved that, for any 1 ≤ qp ≤ ∞, the deviation of the Sobolev class W r p from the set R n of ridge functions in the space L q (B d ) satisfies the sharp order n -r/(d-1).  相似文献

Let E and F be Banach spaces. A linear operator from E to F is said to be strictly singular if, for any subspace Q ? E, the restriction of A to Q is not an isomorphism. A compactness criterion for any strictly singular operator from Lp to Lq is found. There exists a strictly singular but not superstrictly singular operator on Lp, provided that p ≠ 2.  相似文献

We show that Peetre’s classical interpolation theorem in weighted L p -spaces is carried over to some classes of nonlinear operators containing in particular the Lipschitz operators and operators close to them in the properties satisfying less restrictive conditions than Lipschitz in each of the spaces of a Banach pair.  相似文献

Given 1≤ p,q < ∞, let BLpLq be the class of all Banach lattices X such that X is isometrically lattice isomorphic to a band in some Lp(Lq)-Banach lattice. We show that the range of a positive contractive projection on any BLpLq-Banach lattice is itself in BLpLq. It is a consequence of this theorem and previous results that BLpLq is first-order axiomatizable in the language of Banach lattices. By studying the pavings of arbitrary BLpLq-Banach lattices by finite dimensional sublattices that are themselves in this class, we give an explicit set of axioms for BLpLq. We also consider the class of all sublattices of Lp(Lq)-Banach lattices; for this class (when p/q is not an integer) we give a set of axioms that are similar to Krivine’s well-known axioms for the subspaces of Lp-Banach spaces (when p/2 is not an integer). For a newform f for Γ0(N) of even weight k supersingular at a prime p ≥ 5, by using infinite dimensional p-adic analysis, we prove that the p-adic L-function L p (f,α; χ) has finite order of vanishing at any character of the form [(c)\tilde] s ( x ) = xs\tilde \chi _s \left( x \right) = x^s. In particular, under the natural embedding of ℤ p in the group of ℂ* p -valued continuous characters of ℤ* p , the order of vanishing at any point is finite.  相似文献

The paper deals with the characterization of generalized order and generalized type of entire functions in several complex variables in terms of the coefficients of the development with respect to the sequence of extremal polynomials and the best L p -approximation and interpolation errors, 0 < p ≤ ∞, on a compact set K with respect to the set
$K_r = \left\{z \in \mathbb{C}^n, {\rm exp} (V_K (z)) \leq r\right\}$
where V K is the Siciak extremal function of a L-regular compact set K or V K is the pluricomplex Green function with a pole at infinity. It has been noticed that in the study of growth of entire functions, the set K r has not been used so extensively in comparison to disk. Our results apply satisfactorily for slow growth in \({\mathbb{C}^n}\) , replacing the circle \({\{z \in \mathbb{C}; |z| = r\}}\) by the set K r and improve and extend various results of Harfaoui (Int J Maths Math Sci 2010:1–15, 2010), Seremeta (Am Math Soc Transl 88(2):291–301, 1970), Shah (J Approx Theory 19:315–324, 1977) and Vakarchuk and Zhir (Ukr Math J 54(9):1393–1401, 2002).

  We obtain a new sharp inequality for the local norms of functions x ∈ L ∞, ∞ r (R), namely,
where φ r is the perfect Euler spline, on the segment [a, b] of monotonicity of x for q ≥ 1 and for arbitrary q > 0 in the case where r = 2 or r = 3. As a corollary, we prove the well-known Ligun inequality for periodic functions x ∈ L r , namely,

We establish the boundedness properties in L p for a class of integral transformations with respect to an index of hypergeometric functions. In particular, by using the Riesz-Thorin interpolation theorem, we get the corresponding results in L p (R +), 1 p 2, for the Kontorovich-Lebedev, Mehler-Fock, and Olevskii index transforms. An inversion theorem is proved for a general index transformation. In this paper we study the L p -discrepancy of digitally shifted Hammersley point sets. While it is known that the (unshifted) Hammersley point set (which is also known as Roth net) with N points has L p -discrepancy (p an integer) of order (log N)/N, we show that there always exists a shift such that the digitally shifted Hammersley point set has L p -discrepancy (p an even integer) of order which is best possible by a result of W. Schmidt. Further we concentrate on the case p = 2. We give very tight lower and upper bounds for the L 2-discrepancy of digitally shifted Hammersley point sets which show that the value of the L 2-discrepancy of such a point set mostly depends on the number of zero coordinates of the shift and not so much on the position of these. We consider multidimensional integral Volterra type operators with kernels homogeneous of degree (?n); the operators act in L p -spaces with a submultiplicative weight. For these operators we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions of their invertibility. Besides, we describe the Banach algebra generated by the operators. For this algebra we construct the symbolic calculus, in terms of which we obtain an invertibility criterion of the operators.  相似文献

The lattice vertex operator algebra VL associated to a positive definite even lattice L has an automorphism of order 2 lifted from –1-isometry of L. The fixed point set VL+ of VL for the automorphism is naturally a vertex operator algebra. We establish asymptotic equalities for upper bounds of approximations by partial Fourier sums in the metrics of the spaces L p , 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞, on classes of Poisson integrals of periodic functions belonging to the unit ball of the space L 1. We calculate the ordinal L p index defined in [3] for Rosenthal’s space X p , \({\ell_p}\) and \({\ell_2}\). We show that an infinite-dimensional subspace of L p \({(2 < p < \infty)}\) non-isomorphic to \({\ell_2}\) embeds in \({\ell_p}\) if and only if its ordinal index is the minimal possible. We also give a sufficient condition for a \({\mathcal{L}_p}\) subspace of \({\ell_p \oplus \ell_2}\) to be isomorphic to X p .  相似文献
