被动谐波锁模掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:2       下载免费PDF全文
 利用光纤的非线性偏振旋转效应产生可饱和吸收体的锁模机制,从掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器中得到稳定高阶谐波锁模光脉冲。理论分析了工作于正色散区的掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器的特性。实验中观测到了掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器3种不同演化方式产生高阶锁模光脉冲。4阶谐波锁模脉冲(107.2 MHz重复频率)经过1 m长高掺杂Yb3+光纤放大器放大后产生了平均功率100 mW,脉宽22.8 ps的脉冲,最后经过光栅压缩得到了平均输出功率20 mW,脉宽307 fs,脉冲中心波长1 051.2 nm,带宽13.76 nm的激光。  相似文献

A stretched-pulse mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber laser was passively synchronized to a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser at a low repetition rate of 240 kHz through large cross absorption modulation along additional 1-m-long erbium-doped fiber. The synchronous fiber laser with an ultra-long fiber cavity could produce not only nanosecond flat-top pulses with tunable pulse duration but also Gaussian-shape stretched pulses with its minimum pulse duration of ∼450 ps as confirmed by cross-correlation measurement. When operating in the stretched pulse regime, the sub-nanosecond fiber laser could be synchronously triggered by the master injection with the cavity-length mismatch tolerance up to ∼7.8 cm and timing jitter less than 400 fs, confirming that the stretched-pulse mode-locking of the ultra-long slave fiber laser could be robustly controlled by cross absorption modulation effects in the erbium-doped fiber with appropriate femtosecond master injection.  相似文献

The phase noise and the amplitude noise of optical pulses from the amplitude modulated harmonically mode-locked (AM-HML) Er-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser was investigated by measuring the power spectra of the optical pulses. The root mean square (RMS) timing jitter and the RMS amplitude noise are 1.26 ps and 2.5% (500 Hz-50 kHz), respectively, when the pulse repetition frequency is 1.58 GHz. They are smaller than those in conventional harmonically mode-locked EDF ring lasers.  相似文献

We demonstrate the generation of 10-GHz optical square pulses by injecting a picosecond pulse train into an SOA-based mode-locked fiber laser. The novel scheme exploits nonlinear effects and gain saturation phenomenon in the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). This technique uses gain-compression dynamics between the input pulses and the generated ones in gain-saturated SOA to form square pulses. The center wavelength of the generated optical square pulse can be tuned from 1530 to 1570 nm by adjusting the center wavelength of the optical band pass filter (OBPF) in the SOA-based mode-locked fiber ring laser. The duty cycle of the output pulse can be tuned from 12.7 to 88.4%, which strongly depends on the input power and intra-cavity power.  相似文献

理论上推导了非等幅均匀复用的OTDM信号中时钟分量与各路脉冲幅度的关系式,并分别从频域和时域的角度给出了利用以半导体光放大器(SOA)作为调制器的锁模光纤激光器进行时钟提取的物理机制,对时钟提取的物理过程给出了形象解释.实验上通过利用锁模光纤激光器成功地从非等幅均匀复用的8×2.5 GHz OTDM信号中提取了2.5 GHz单路时钟和20 GHz群路时钟光脉冲.利用该方案提取的时钟脉冲稳定性好,对偏振态不敏感,是较理想的时钟源.此技术可用于高速OTDM信号的时钟提取.  相似文献

利用非线性光环形镜(NOLM)的可饱和吸收特性实现了可自启动的2μm全光纤高能量被动锁模掺铥光纤激光器。当泵浦功率大于3W时,激光器工作在连续或不稳定脉冲运转状态;泵浦功率达到4.69W后,输出为自启动锁模脉冲,重复频率4.26MHz,中心波长2 061.5nm,光谱半极大宽度18.1nm,平均输出功率8.8mW;继续增加泵浦功率到最大值7.56W,可以得到中心波长2 062.2nm、光谱半极大宽度17.1nm、斜率效率为6.2%、脉冲宽度和能量分别为424fs和65.6nJ的稳定锁模脉冲。这是目前已报道的在未经放大情况下脉冲能量最高的2μm锁模脉冲光纤激光器。  相似文献

We report on a long-cavity passively mode-locked fiber laser in the anomalous dispersion regime. The nonlinear polarization rotation technique is employed to achieve mode locking. The output pulse from the fiber laser has a rectangular shape and a corresponding gaussian-shape spectral profile. Stable mode-locked pulses at a repetition rate of 278 kHz with single pulse energy as high as 715 nJ are obtained under equal bidirectional pumping power of 500 mW in cavity. The experimental results demonstrate that the passively mode-locked fiber laser operating in the anomalous regime can also realize a high-energy pulse, which is different from the conventional low-energy soliton pulse.  相似文献

We report, for the first time to our knowledge, the demonstration of amplitude equalization of high-repetition-rate pulses generated from a rational harmonic mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser. The output pulses are injected into another fiber laser with a nonlinear optical loop mirror. This scheme provides pulse-amplitude equalization up to the ninth rational harmonic mode-locked pulse train.  相似文献

An actively mode-locked fiber ring laser based on cross-gain modulation (XGM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is demonstrated to operate stably with a simple configuration. By forward injecting an easily-generated external pulse train, the mode-locked fiber laser can generate an optical-pulse sequence with pulsewidth about 6 ps and average output power about 7.9 mW. The output pulses show an ultra-low RMS jitter about 70.7 fs measured by a RF spectrum analyzer. The use of the proposed forward-injection configuration can realize the repetition-rate tunability from 1 to 15 GHz for the generated optical-pulse sequences. By employing a wavelength-tunable optical band-pass filter in the laser cavity, the operation wavelength of the designed SOA-based actively mode-locked fiber laser can be tuned continuously in a wide span between 1528 and 1565 nm. The parameters of external-injection optical pulses are studied experimentally to optimize the mode-locked fiber laser.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of a nearly single-cycle (3.7?fs), ultrafast optical pulse train at 78?MHz from the coherent combination of a passively mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser (6?fs pulses) and a fiber supercontinuum (1-1.4?μm, with 8?fs pulses). The coherent combination is achieved via orthogonal, attosecond-precision synchronization of both pulse envelope timing and carrier envelope phase using balanced optical cross-correlation and balanced homodyne detection, respectively. The resulting pulse envelope, which is only 1.1 optical cycles in duration, is retrieved with two-dimensional spectral shearing interferometry (2DSI). To our knowledge, this work represents the first stable synthesis of few-cycle pulses from independent laser sources.  相似文献

We report the generation of 6-nJ chirped pulses from a mode-locked Yb fiber laser at 1.03 micrometre. A linear anomalous-dispersion segment suppresses wave-breaking effects of solitonlike pulse shaping at high energies. The dechirped pulse duration is 50 fs, and the energy is 5 nJ. This laser produces twice the pulse energy and average power, and approximately five times the peak power, of the previous best mode-locked fiber laser. It is to our knowledge the first fiber laser that directly offers performance similar to that of solid-state lasers such as Ti:sapphire.  相似文献

We observe nonlinear pulse reshaping of femtosecond pulses in a waveguide array owing to coupling between waveguides. Amplified pulses from a mode-locked fiber laser are coupled to an AlGaAs core waveguide array structure. The observed power-dependent pulse reshaping agrees with theory, including shortening of the pulse in the central waveguide.  相似文献

We report a mode-locked ytterbium fiber laser that generates femtosecond pulses with energies as large as 2.2 nJ. This represents a 20-fold improvement in pulse energy compared with that of previously reported femtosecond Yb fiber lasers. The laser produces pulses as short as 52 fs, which are to our knowledge the shortest pulses to date from a Yb fiber laser. The laser is diode pumped by a wavelength-division multiplexing coupler, which leads to excellent stability.  相似文献

搭建了长腔"8"字型掺铒光纤激光器,并对产生的谐波锁模方波脉冲进行了实验研究.结果表明,该脉冲具有光滑的宽带光谱,示波器上显示为方波脉冲,但自相关迹证实其为类噪声脉冲,即为类噪声方波脉冲;通过调节偏振控制器和泵浦功率等激光器腔内参量,获得了高达5阶的谐波锁模类噪声方波脉冲;该类噪声方波脉冲并非可以无限增大脉冲能量,而是在一定条件下产生脉冲分裂,出现谐波锁模方波脉冲现象.  相似文献

采用非线性光纤环形镜加脉冲锁模技术及可调谐光纤光栅滤波器,对8字形腔被动锁模掺铒光纤激光器进行了波长可调谐输出的实验研究.在EDFA抽运光功率一定的情况下,通过调节偏振控制器和可调谐光纤光栅滤波器,获得了光谱稳定、重复频率1.1 MHz、输出功率起伏小于0.8 dBm、中心波长在1 548~1 570 nm内连续可调的短脉冲输出.该激光器可实现自启动锁模,且长时间稳定工作无需任何调整.  相似文献

报道了一种基于石墨烯被动锁模的全正色散掺镱环形光纤激光器. 在激光器腔中应用激光诱导沉积法制备的石墨烯可饱和吸收体, 通过调节抽运光功率和偏振控制器的角度分别得到了明脉冲及其二阶谐波, 暗明脉冲对和暗脉冲及其二、三阶谐波这三类不同的脉冲. 其中, 暗明脉冲对和暗脉冲在基于石墨烯被动锁模的掺镱光纤激光器实验中都是第一次被观察到. 本文根据实验结果结合模拟分析了暗脉冲的产生机理, 并研究对比了明脉冲谐波和暗脉冲谐波产生的原因.  相似文献

A stable mode-locked fiber laser employing a 49 cm long bismuth oxide based erbium doped fiber (Bi-EDF) by using a slow saturable absorber is demonstrated. Near transform limited short pulses with a repetition rate of 8.27 MHz are obtained at a wavelength of 1560 nm with a maximum spectral width of 15 nm. Results indicate that pulse characteristics are strongly dependent on pump power rather than spectral width. Moreover the Time-Bandwidth products (TBWP), pulse duration, the energy fluctuation and timing jitter decrease with increasing pump power. The pulse width is continuously varied from 1.2 ps to less than 300 fs. It produces stable mode locking with a maximum spectral width of 15 nm, minimum timing jitter of 4 ps and energy fluctuations of 2.5%. The pulse train was amplified using a two-stage amplifier up to 447 mW average power corresponding to peak powers of 177.3 kW.  相似文献

The observation of dark pulse in a dispersion-managed fiber ring laser with net negative cavity group velocity dispersion (GVD) is reported. Both bright and dark pulses can be obtained in our fiber laser. When we appropriately adjust the cavity birefringence to achieve triple-wavelength mode-locked operation in the laser by rotating the polarization controller, the bright pulse could be switched to dark pulse. It is believed that the dark dispersion-managed (DM) pulse generation is caused by the linear and nonlinear intermodulation effects among the three wavelength pulses.  相似文献

An actively mode-locked fiber laser is demonstrated, for the first time to our knowledge, by modulation of a saturable-absorber mirror with the light used simultaneously for pumping the gain fiber. Stabilization of a harmonically passive mode-locked fiber laser that generates soliton pulses of 550-fs duration is obtained with this technique. The results indicate a reduction of supermode suppression by more than 55 dB. The timing jitter is improved by 9 dB.  相似文献

We experimentally investigate an all-fiber passively mode-locked laser generating ps pulses. The experimental setup is a figure eight fiber laser configuration, including a power-symmetric Nonlinear Optical Loop Mirror (NOLM) with highly twisted low-birefringence fiber in the loop. NOLM switching is achieved by polarization asymmetry between the counter-propagating beams in the loop. We used a Quarter-Wave Retarder in the loop to break the polarization symmetry. Using a polarizer beam-splitter cube as the NOLM output we got the best quality output pulses from the laser. At this output, we are monitoring the output pulse polarization component which is parallel to the input NOLM component. We achieved stable generation of ~25 ps pulses at the repetition frequency of 0.78 MHz with milliwatts average output power. The mode-locked laser ran in stable operation for hours.  相似文献
