Five arsenic species, trimethylarsine oxide, dimethylarsenic acid, monomethylarsonic acid, arsenobetaine and sodium arsenite, in urine were analysed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with ion chromatography (IC ICP MS). Since the toxicities of different arsenic compounds are different, speciation of arsenic compounds is very important in the investigation of metabolisms. In this paper, we applied ion chromatography (IC) as a separation device and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP MS) as a detection device. For separation of the five arsenic compounds, an anion-exchange column and, as mobile phase, tartaric acid were used. The eluent from the IC column was introduced directly into the nebulizer of the ICP MS and analysed at 75 amu. Detection limits were from 4 to 9 pg as arsenic.  相似文献

A simple and very inexpensive in-situ nebulizer/hydride generator was used with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for the determination of As, Sb, Bi and Hg in water samples. The application of hydride generation ICP-MS alleviated the sensitivity problem of As, Sb, Bi and Hg determinations encountered when the conventional pneumatic nebulizer was used for sample introduction. The sample was introduced by flow injection to minimize the deposition of solids on the sampling orifice. The elements in the sample were reduced to the lower oxidation states with L-cysteine before being injected into the hydride generation system. This method has a detection limit of 0.003, 0.003, 0.017 and 0.17 ng ml−1 for As, Bi, Sb and Hg, respectively. This method was applied to determine As, Sb, Bi and Hg in a CASS-3 nearshore seawater reference sample, a SLRS-2 riverine water reference sample and a tap water collected from National Sun Yat-Sen University. The concentrations of the elements were determined by standard addition method. The precision was better than 20% for most of the determinations.  相似文献

A novel pervaporation-flow injection (PFI) system for the determination of As(III) in aqueous samples at μg l−1 level is described. The analytical procedure involved stopping the acceptor stream and injecting acidified As(III) samples into a 0.3 M HCl stream which was mixed with a 0.14 M sodium borohydride in 0.025 M NaOH stream. The arsine generated was transported in the pervaporation unit across a semi-permeable membrane (1.5 mm thickness) into the static acceptor solution containing 1.0×10−4 M KMnO4 in 0.1 M H2SO4 where it was oxidised. The acceptor stream was restarted after 6.5 min, and the decrease in permanganate absorbance at 528 nm was monitored to determine the initial concentration of As(III) in the samples. The method is characterised by a linear calibration range from 0.25 to 2000 μg l−1, a detection limit of 0.18 μg l−1 and a sampling frequency of 7 h−1. Samples containing As(V) were pre-treated with KI and HCl prior to injection to reduce As(V) to As(III). The effects of common anionic and cationic interferences, and the elimination of some metallic interferences using -cysteine are discussed. The method was applied to the analysis of environmental waters and the results were in good agreement with hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometric data.  相似文献

Hydride generation inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (HG-ICP-OES) was used in the determination of As and Sb concentrations in fly ash samples. The effect of sample pre-treatment reagents and measurement parameters used for hydride generation was evaluated. Due to memory effects observed, the appropriate read delay time was adjusted to 60 s resulting in RSDs 0.6% and 2.3% for As and Sb, respectively. The most suitable volumes of pre-reduction reagents for 10 mL of sample were 4 mL of KI/ascorbic acid (5%) and 6 mL of HCl (conc.). The determination of Sb was significantly interfered by HF, but the interference could be eliminated by adding 2 mL of saturated boric acid and heating the samples to 60 °C at least 45 min. The accuracy of the method was studied by analyses of SRM 1633b and two fly ash samples with the recovery test of added As and Sb. As high a recovery as 96% for SRM 1633b was reached for As using 193.696 nm with two-step ultrasound-assisted digestion. A recovery rate of 103% was obtained for Sb using 217.582 nm and the pre-reduction method with the addition of 2 mL of saturated boric acid and heating. The quantification limits for the determination of As and Sb in the fly ash samples using two-step ultrasound-assisted digestion followed with HG-ICP-OES were 0.89 and 1.37 mg kg−1, respectively.  相似文献

A laser ablation system using a Nd:YAG laser was coupled both to a quadrupole inductively coupled plasma (ICP) mass spectrometer and to a double-focusing sector field ICP mass spectrometer. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) was applied for the determination of long-lived radionuclides in a concrete matrix. The investigated samples were two laboratory standards with a concrete matrix, which we doped with different long-lived radionuclides (e.g. 99Tc, 232Th, 233U, 237Np) from the ng g−1 to μ g−1 concentration range and an undoped concrete material (blank). Detection limits for long-lived radionuclides in the 10 ng g−1 range are reached for LA-ICP-MS using the quadrupole mass spectrometer. With double-focusing sector field ICP-MS, the limits of detection are in general one order of magnitude lower and reach the sub ng g−1 range for 233U and 237Np. A comparison of mass spectrometric results with those of neutron activation analysis on undoped concrete sample indicates that a semiquantitative determination of the concentrations of the minor and trace elements in the concrete matrix is possible with LA-ICP-MS without using a standard reference material.  相似文献

利用吡咯烷二硫代氨基甲酸铵(APDC)-CHCl_3萃取分离体系结合ICP-MS对高纯铝中的Co、As、Mo、In、Sn、Sb、Cd、Ag、Pd、Au进行测定,建立了测定高纯铝中痕量元素的方法.实验分别考察了仪器工作参数,萃取酸度,络合剂用量对于杂质元素测定结果的影响,选择了最佳实验条件.各元素的回收率在77.6%~112.2%之间,检出限0.02~0.6 ng/mL,RSD为1.6%~7.2%.  相似文献

A method for the determination of arsenic (As) in seafood by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry with continuous hydride generation is described. Several analytical parameters have been investigated and optimised. The analytical features of the method (recovery, precision, accuracy and limit of detection) were calculated. Practical detection limit of 3.6 μg/kg fresh weight for As has been reached. The precision of the method expressed as relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) was in the range of 2.7-3.7% and the recovery percentage ranged from 98.4 to 101.8%. The reliability of the developed method was checked by analysing several certified reference materials. A complete mineralization was obtained for arsenobetaine (AsB) containing reference material with a mixture of nitric and sulphuric acids followed by adding hydrogen peroxide in an open digestion system. This method can be applied to routine analysis without any risks of interferences.  相似文献

A hydride generation (HG) procedure has been described for determination of Pb by ICP-MS using potassium hexacyanomanganate(III), K3Mn(CN)6, as an additive to facilitate the generation of plumbane (PbH4). Potassium hexacyanomanganate(III) was prepared in acidic medium as it was unstable in water. The stability of hexacyanomanganate(III) was examined in dilute solutions of HCl, HNO3 and H2SO4. The solutions prepared in 1% v/v H2SO4 were found to be stable for over a period of 24 h. The least suitable medium was 1% v/v HNO3. For generation of plumbane, acidic hexacyanomanganate(III) and sample solutions were mixed on-line along a 5-cm long tygon tubing (1.14 mm i.d.) and then reacted with 2% m/v sodium borohydride (NaBH4). A concentration of 0.5% m/v K3Mn(CN)6 facilitated the generation of PbH4 remarkably. In comparison to H2SO4, HCl provided broader working range for which optimum concentration was 1% v/v. No significant interferences were noted from transition metals and hydride forming elements, up to 0.5 μg mL−1 levels, except Cu which depressed the signals severely. The depressive effects in the presence of 0.1 μg mL−1 Cu were alleviated by increasing the concentration of K3Mn(CN)6 to 2% m/v. Under these conditions, the sensitivity was enhanced by a factor of at least 42 to 48. The detection limit (3 s) was 0.008 μg L−1 for 208Pb isotope. Average signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) ranged between 18 and 20 for 1.0 μg mL−1 Pb solution. The accuracy of the method was verified by analysis of several certified reference materials, including Nearshore seawater (CASS-4), Bone ash (SRM 1400), and Mussel tissue (SRM 2976). The procedure was also successfully applied to the determination of Pb in coastal seawater samples by ICP-MS.  相似文献

A method was investigated for the determination of Sn in soil samples by KOH fusion followed by continuous hydride generation coupled with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HG-ICP-MS). Sample solutions in 3.0 M HCl were mixed in line with a solution of 2.4% NaBH4 and 0.25 M KOH to generate stannane gas. The mixture was delivered continuously to a gas/liquid separator and the stannane gas was introduced into a Perkin-Elmer Sciex Elan 6000 ICP-MS for concentration measurements. A method detection limit of 0.45 mg/kg was sufficient for Sn levels commonly found in soil samples. Sn concentrations as low as 2.5 mg/kg were reproducibly measured in soil samples. Sample results by HG-ICP-MS agreed within ±17% relative difference to results by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and within ±6% relative difference to results by KOH fusion followed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES).  相似文献

An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of some trace elements (Au, Fe, Mg, Li, Sr, Zn) in human serum by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) with flow injection is described. Physical interference caused by the change of sample viscosity is discussed. When 100 μl of serum was injected, the relevant recoveries of > 99% for Li, > 98% for Cu and Mg, > 95% for Fe were obtained for an NIST SRM with R.S.D. > 1.3% using optimized flow injection parameters. The prepared lyophilized control serum for routine analysis in clinical laboratories was analyzed and verified for the validity of the technique employed in this experiment using NIST SRM 909 as a primary reference material.  相似文献

The possible benefits of the addition of an anionic surfactant, didodecyldimethylammonium bromide, in the determination of arsenic, by flow injection hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry using a flame-heated quartz tube atomizer, were studied in the light of previous reports concerning the effects of surfactants on chemical vapor generation procedures. Concentrations of arsenic between 5 and 30 μg l−1 were used. Calibrations in the presence and absence of the surfactant in the sample solution were not significantly different, either for the case where vesicles were formed in the presence of the analyte or where they were preformed in the surfactant solution and then added to the analyte. The surfactant had no effect on recoveries in the presence of copper, nickel or bismuth. The addition of the surfactant to the acid carrier and/or borohydride streams had no effect. It is proposed that there may be a greater role for surfactants in the improvement of the processes by which the hydride is transferred to the bulk gas phase than has been attributed in previous reports on this subject.  相似文献

The toxicity of certain elements is known to be related to their organic substituents and/or oxidation states. As such, total elemental determinations do not always yield sufficient information for accurate risk assessments and therefore speciation or fractionation data are required. In order to obtain fractionation data for trace levels of arsenic and selenium, a novel sequential pneumatic nebulisation (PN)/hydride generation (HG) inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) method was developed. The method offers the advantage of sample introduction via either PN or HG by simply rotating a 4-way switching valve while the system is in operation. In PN mode, the liquid sample is aspirated into ICP, allowing for the determination of the total amount of each element, whilst in HG mode only the arsenic and selenium species that form volatile hydrides are determined. Conveniently, in the case of arsenic, this allows for differentiation between the four most toxic arsenic species (arsenate, arsenite, monomethylarsonic acid and dimethylarsinic acid), which form volatile hydrides, and the virtually non-toxic forms (arsenobetaine, arsenosugars, etc.), which do not. This allows for the rapid estimation of the amounts of toxic and non-toxic arsenic species present in a sample. For arsenic, the technique gave detection limits of 36 ng l−1 in PN mode and 1 ng l−1 in HG mode. For selenium, detection limits of 150 ng l−1 were achieved in PN mode and 220 ng l−1 in HG mode. The technique also gave good long- and short-term stabilities of under 6% RSD for both elements. A variety of samples, including water and urine standard reference materials, were analysed in both modes, and the precision and accuracy of the results for total arsenic and selenium levels were assessed. Using the technique in both modes also allowed for the fractionation of As and Se species into their volatile hydride-forming and non-hydride-forming species. This was particularly informative, with respect to As species present, in the case of a kelp powder extract. Digested tobacco samples were only analysed for their total As levels, in which case results obtained via both sample introduction modes showed good agreement.  相似文献

A flow injection (FI) on-line preconcentration procedure by using a nanometer-sized alumina packed micro-column coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was described for simultaneous determination of trace metals (V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb) in the environmental samples. The effects of pH value, sample flow rate, preconcentration time, and interfering ions on the preconcentration of analytes have been investigated. Under the optimized operating conditions, the adsorption capacity of the nanometer-sized alumina for V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb were found to be 11.7, 13.6, 15.7, 9.5, 12.2, 13.3, 17.1, 17.7 and 17.5 mg g−1, respectively. With 60 s preconcentration time and 60 s elution time, an enrichment factor of 5 and the sampling frequency of 15 h−1 were obtained. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of trace metals in environmental certified reference materials and natural water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

分别将N-(β氨乙基)-?-氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷(AEAPTMS)、3-巯丙基三甲氧基硅烷(MPTMS)与四乙氧基硅烷(TEOS)水解共聚,制备氨基\巯基键合的硅胶材料。将此材料作为固相萃取(SPE)小柱的填充材料,建立了固相萃取快速分离富集海产品样品中五价砷As(Ⅴ)和三价砷As(Ⅲ)电感耦合等离子体质谱法(ICP-MS)测定海产品中无机砷的方法。研究了固相萃取小柱对无机砷的吸附原理、性能和洗脱条件,在pH3~4范围内固相萃取小柱材料有良好的选择吸附性,利用2%硝酸可将As(Ⅴ)洗脱,利用2%硝酸+0.1mol/L KIO3可将As(Ⅲ)洗脱。实际样品检测的加标回收率在72~103%之间,方法实现了海产品样品中无机砷形态快速、方便、准确的检测。  相似文献

There is considerable evidence that toxicity and physiological behavior of arsenic depends on its chemical forms. Arsenic speciation became therefore the subject of increasing interest in recent years. A sensitive method for the determination of arsenic species has been developed. The proposed procedure involves the use of high-performance liquid chromatography and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS). Six arsenic compounds were separated by anion-exchange chromatography with isocratic elution using tartaric acid as mobile phase with an elution order: arsenocholine, arsenobetaine, dimethylarsinic acid, methylarsonic acid, arsenous acid and arsenic acid. The chromatographic parameters affecting the separation of the arsenic species were optimized. Analytical characterization of the method has been realized with standard solutions. The detection limits for six arsenic compounds were from 0.04 to 0.6 g/L as As element. The repeatability (expressed by R.S.D) was better than 7% for all investigated compounds. The HPLC-ICP-MS system was successfully applied to the determination of arsenic compounds in environmental and biological samples in g/L level.  相似文献
