Experimental measurements and second‐order polarization propagator approach (SOPPA) calculations of 77Se? 1H spin–spin coupling constants together with theoretical energy‐based conformational analysis in the series of 2‐substituted selenophenes have been carried out. A new basis set optimized for the calculation of 77Se? 1H spin–spin coupling constants has been introduced by extending the aug‐cc‐pVTZ‐J basis for selenium. Most of the spin–spin coupling constants under study, especially vicinal 77Se? 1H couplings, demonstrated a remarkable stereochemical behavior with respect to the internal rotation of the substituent in the 2‐position of the selenophene ring, which is of major importance in the stereochemical studies of the related organoselenium compounds. On the basis of the presence or absence of long-range spin–spin coupling constants between side–chain and ring nuclei in 2-methoxyacetophenone, some literature ambiguities about the conformational preferences of the side-chains in this compound can be resolved. The long-range coupling between the methoxy protons and the ring proton ortho to the methoxy group, 5J(H, CH3)o, is (?)0.28 ± 0.02 Hz, as expected for a conformation in which the methoxy group lies in the benzene plane and cis to H-3. The methyl protons of the acetyl group do not couple to H-6, implying that this methyl group does not approach H-6 closely. However, the 13C nucleus of this methyl group couples by +0.4 Hz to H-5 and not to H-3. This stereospecific five-bond coupling implies that the acetyl group predominantly prefers an arrangement in which the carbonyl group lies trans to the other substituent, as would be expected electrostatically. Large twists out of the ring plane are not consistent with the observed couplings.  相似文献

Four‐component relativistic calculations of 77Se–13C spin–spin coupling constants have been performed in the series of selenium heterocycles and their parent open‐chain selenides. It has been found that relativistic effects play an essential role in the selenium–carbon coupling mechanism and could result in a contribution of as much as 15–25% of the total values of the one‐bond selenium–carbon spin‐spin coupling constants. In the overall contribution of the relativistic effects to the total values of 1J(Se,C), the scalar relativistic corrections (negative in sign) by far dominate over the spin‐orbit ones (positive in sign), the latter being of less than 5%, as compared to the former (ca 20%). A combination of nonrelativistic second‐order polarization propagator approach (CC2) with the four‐component relativistic density functional theory scheme is recommended as a versatile tool for the calculation of 1J(Se,C). Solvent effects in the values of 1J(Se,C) calculated within the polarizable continuum model for the solvents with different dielectric constants (ε 2.2–78.4) are next to negligible decreasing negative 1J(Se,C) in absolute value by only about 1 Hz. The use of the locally dense basis set approach applied herewith for the calculation of 77Se–13C spin‐spin coupling constants is fully justified resulting in a dramatic decrease in computational cost with only 0.1–0.2‐Hz loss of accuracy. A fast residual dipolar coupling constant‐assisted strategy involving the simultaneous determination of scalar and total coupling constants from a single 1JCH/2JHH‐resolved NMR spectrum is reported. It is shown that the concerted use of the directly measured 1DCH (for all CHn multiplicities) and 2DHH residual dipolar couplings allows an on‐the‐fly assignment of diastereotopic CH2 protons, as well as of an efficient discrimination between diastereoisomeric structures of strychnine which contains six stereocenters. Efficient pulse sequences for measuring 1H–1H coupling constants (JHH) in strongly coupled spin systems, named selective J‐resolved‐HMQC‐1 and ‐2, have been developed. In the strongly coupled spin systems such as ‐CH2‐CHA(OH)‐CHB(OH)‐CH2‐, measurements of 3JHAHB are generally difficult owing to the complicated splitting caused by the adjacent CH2 protons. For easier and accurate measurements of 3JHAHB in such a spin system, a selective excitation pulse is incorporated into the J‐resolved HMQC pulse sequence. In the proposed methods, only two strongly coupled protons, HA and HB which are excited by a selective pulse, are observed as J‐resolved HMQC signals. The cross peaks of HA and HB appear as doublets owing to 3JHAHB along the F1 dimension in the selective J‐resolved HMQC‐1 and ‐2 experiments. The efficiency of the proposed pulse sequences has been demonstrated in application to the stereochemical studies of the complicated natural product, monazomycin. The complete and unambiguous 1H NMR assignments of ten marker constituents of Ginkgo biloba are described. The comprehensive 1H NMR profiles (fingerprints) of ginkgolide A, ginkgolide B, ginkgolide C, ginkgolide J, bilobalide, quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin, isoquercetin, and rutin in DMSO‐d6 were obtained through the examination of 1D 1H NMR and 2D 1H,1H‐COSY data, in combination with 1H iterative full spin analysis (HiFSA). The computational analysis of discrete spin systems allowed a detailed characterization of all the 1H NMR signals in terms of chemical shifts (δH) and spin‐spin coupling constants (JHH), regardless of signal overlap and higher order coupling effects. The capability of the HiFSA‐generated 1H fingerprints to reproduce experimental 1H NMR spectra at different field strengths was also evaluated. As a result of this analysis, a revised set of 1H NMR parameters for all ten phytoconstituents was assembled. Furthermore, precise 1H NMR assignments of the sugar moieties of isoquercetin and rutin are reported for the first time. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The erythro- and threo-amphetamine-β-d diastereomers were synthesized and used for the unambiguous assignment of the diastereotopic benzylic protons and the measurement of vicinal 1H-1H coupling constants which were used to determine the distribution of rotamers around the central cα-cβ bond in the side chain.  相似文献

Summary: The sol‐gel transition of one thermoreversible gelling mixture made of xanthan gum and locust bean gum has been studied by using in situ time‐resolved dynamic light scattering (DLS) and measuring the spin‐lattice relaxation time T1 of several protons. A critical dynamical behavior was observed near the sol‐gel transition, which is characterized by the presence of power‐law spectra over four decades of the delay time in the time‐intensity correlation function g2(t)−1 ∼ t−μ at 48 °C. The increase in T1 with increasing temperature becomes steeper at 50 °C indicating a significant change in the local mobility of one anomeric proton of the xanthan side chain and the anomeric protons of the locust bean gum mannose backbone.

Temperature dependence of the spin‐lattice relaxation time T1 for the equatorial anomeric proton of the mannopyranosic unit located next to the main chain of the xanthan.  相似文献

The 1H NMR spectra of methyl 3‐bromo‐2‐methylpropionate (1a) and the corresponding chloro compound (2a) show no long‐range coupling between the methyl and methylene protons. In contrast, in the analogous dihalocompounds, methyl 2,3‐dibromo‐2‐methylpropionate (1b) and methyl 2,3‐dichloro‐2‐methylpropionate (2b), one of the methylene protons exhibits a large 4JHH coupling (0.8 Hz) to the methyl group, but the other proton shows no observable splitting. This can be explained quantitatively by calculations of the conformational preferences in these compounds combined with the known orientation dependence of the 4JHHcouplings. One conformer predominates in the dihalo compounds 1b and 2b, and this is responsible for the 4JHH coupling. In 1a and 2a all three conformers are populated and the 4JHH couplings average to zero. The technique is a potentially general method of unambiguously assigning diastereotopic methylene protons. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The local spin formalism ( 3 ) for computing expectation values 〈SA · SB〉 that appear in the Heisenberg spin model has been extended to semiempirical single determinant wave functions. An alternative derivation of expectation values in restricted and unrestricted cases is given that takes advantage of the zero differential overlap (ZDO) approximation. A formal connection between single determinant wave functions (which are not in general spin eigenfunctions) and the Heisenberg spin model was established by demonstrating that energies of single determinants that are eigenfunctions of the local spin operators with eigenvalues corresponding to high‐spin radical centers are given by the same Heisenberg coupling constants {JAB} that describe the true spin states of the system. Unrestricted single determinant wave functions for transition metal complexes are good approximations of local spin eigenfunctions when the metal d orbitals are local in character and all unpaired electrons on each metal have the same spin (although spins on different metals might be reversed). Good approximations of the coupling constants can then be extracted from local spin expectation values 〈SA · SB〉 energies of the single determinant wave functions. Once the coupling constants are obtained, diagonalization of the Heisenberg spin Hamiltonian provides predictions of the energies and compositions of the spin states. A computational method is presented for obtaining coupling constants and spin‐state energies in this way for polynuclear transition metal complexes using the intermediate neglect of differential overlap Hamiltonian parameterized for optical spectroscopy (INDO/S) in the ZINDO program. This method is referred to as ZILSH, derived from ZINDO, Davidson's local spin formalism, and the Heisenberg spin model. Coupling constants and spin ground states obtained for 10 iron complexes containing from 2 to 6 metals are found to agree well with experimental results in most cases. In the case of the complex [Fe6O3(OAc)9(OEt)2(bpy)2]+, a priori predictions of the coupling constants yield a ground‐state spin of zero, in agreement with variable‐temperature magnetization data, and corroborate spin alignments proposed earlier on the basis of structural considerations. This demonstrates the potential of the ZILSH method to aid in understanding magnetic interactions in polynuclear transition metal complexes. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Theoretical energy‐based conformational analysis of bis(2‐phenethyl)vinylphosphine and related phosphine oxide, sulfide and selenide synthesized from available secondary phosphine chalcogenides and vinyl sulfoxides is performed at the MP2/6‐311G** level to study stereochemical behavior of their 31P–1H spin–spin coupling constants measured experimentally and calculated at different levels of theory. All four title compounds are shown to exist in the equilibrium mixture of two conformers: major planar s‐cis and minor orthogonal ones, while 31P–1 H spin–spin coupling constants under study are found to demonstrate marked stereochemical dependences with respect to the geometry of the coupling pathways, and to the internal rotation of the vinyl group around the P(X)‐C bonds (X = LP, O, S and Se), opening a new guide in the conformational studies of unsaturated phosphines and phosphine chalcogenides. A spherical Gaussian nuclear charge distribution model has been implemented for spin‐free (scalar) and two‐component (spin–orbit) relativistic density functional calculations of indirect NMR nuclear spin–spin coupling (J‐coupling) constants. The finite nuclear volume effects on the hyperfine integrals are quite pronounced and as a consequence they noticeably alter coupling constants involving heavy NMR nuclei such as W, Pt, Hg, Tl, and Pb. Typically, the isotropic J‐couplings are reduced in magnitude by about 10 to 15 % for couplings between one of the heaviest NMR nuclei and a light atomic ligand, and even more so for couplings between two heavy atoms. For a subset of the systems studied, viz. the Hg atom, Hg22+, and Tl? X where X=Br, I, the basis set convergence of the hyperfine integrals and the coupling constants was monitored. For the Hg atom, numerical and basis set calculations of the electron density and the 1s and 6s orbital hyperfine integrals are directly compared. The coupling anisotropies of TlBr and TlI increase by about 2 % due to finite‐nucleus effects.  相似文献

The conformation of [bis‐(N,N′‐difluoroboryl)]‐3,3′‐diethyl‐4,4′,8,8′,9,9′,10,10′‐octamethyl‐2,2′‐bidipyrrin (1) in solution was studied by analyzing the 13C? 19F and 19F? 19F through‐space spin–spin couplings. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra were assigned on the basis of nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (NOESY), heteronuclear single‐quantum correlation (HSQC), and heteronuclear multiple‐bond correlation (HMBC) experiments. The 19F spectrum of 1 was compared with that of 2‐ethyl‐1,3,5,6,7‐pentamethyl‐4,4‐difluoro‐4‐bor‐3a,4a‐diaza‐s‐indacen (2). The 19F? 19F through‐space spin? spin coupling in 1 was thus assigned and the coupling constant was obtained by simulating the coupling patterns. The obtained conformation of 1 was compared with those of the known complexes [bis‐(N,N′‐difluoroboryl)]‐3,3′,8,8′,9,9′‐hexaethyl‐4,4′,10,10′‐tetramethyl‐6,6′‐(4‐methylphenyl)‐2,2′‐bidipyrrin (3)and [bis‐(N,N′‐difluoroboryl)]‐9,9′‐diethyl‐4,4′,8,8′,10,10′‐hexamethyl‐3,3′‐bis(methoxycarbonylethyl)‐2,2′‐bidipyrrin (4). The conformational dynamics of 1, 3, and 4 was surveyed by observing the temperature dependence of the through‐space coupling constants between 253 and 333 K. The 13C? 19F and 19F? 19F through‐space spin–spin couplings thus confirm similar conformations of different BisBODIPYs in solution in contrast to earlier findings in the solid state. Stereochemical structure of nine Z‐2‐(vinylsulfanyl)ethenylselanyl organyl sulfides has been investigated by means of experimental measurements and second‐order polarization propagator approach calculations of their 1H–1H, 13C–1H, and 77Se–1H spin–spin coupling constants together with a theoretical conformational analysis performed at the MP2/6‐311G** level. All nine compounds were shown to adopt the preferable skewed s‐cis conformation of their terminal vinylsulfanyl group, whereas the favorable rotational conformations with respect to the internal rotations around the C–S and C–Se bonds of the internal ethenyl group are both skewed s‐trans. Stereochemical trends of 77Se–1H spin–spin coupling constants originating in the geometry of their coupling pathways and the selenium lone pair effect were rationalized in terms of the natural J‐coupling analysis within the framework of the natural bond orbital approach. Improved pulse sequences for measuring long‐range C‐H coupling constants (nJC‐H), named selective COSY‐J‐resolved HMBC‐1 and ?2, have been developed. In the spin systems, such as ‐CHC‐CHA(CH3)‐CHB‐, a methine proton HA splits into a multiplet owing to several vicinal couplings with protons, resulting in attenuation of its cross‐peak intensity. Therefore, the measurements of nJC‐H with HA are generally difficult in the J‐resolved HMBC or selective J‐resolved HMBC spectrum. With the aim of accurate measurements of nJC‐H in such a spin system, we have developed new pulse sequences, which transfer the magnetization of a methyl group to its adjacent methine proton. The proposed pulse sequences successfully enable to enhance the sensitivity of HA cross peak in comparison with the selective J‐resolved HMBC pulse sequence. Conformational study of five derivatives of 2‐(pyrazol‐4‐yl)‐1,3‐diselenane together with related 1,2‐diselenolane in respect to the stereochemical trends of geminal and vicinal 77Se‐1H spin‐spin coupling constants has been carried out by means of high‐level theoretical calculations in combination with experiment. The marked dihedral angle dependences for both types of couplings accounted for the lone pair effect in the case of geminal coupling constants and the Karplus‐type relationship for vicinal couplings have been established, which is of major importance for the stereochemical analysis of saturated selenium containing heterocycles. We have investigated, by means of density functional theory protocols, the one-bond 1J(15N─19F) spin–spin coupling constants in a series of fluorinating reagents, containing the N─F bond, recently studied experimentally. The results of the calculations show a very good linear relationship with the experimental values, even though only the M06-2X(PCM)/pcJ-2//B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level affords a very low mean absolute error. The calculations allow to analyze the various molecular orbitals contributions to the J coupling and to rationalize the observed positive sign, corresponding to a negative sign of the reduced spin–pin coupling constant K(N─F). Moreover, of the four Ramsey contributions, only the diamagnetic spin orbit is negligible, whereas the paramagnetic spin orbit and spin dipole terms decrease the magnitude of the Fermi contact (FC) term by an amount that goes from a minimum of 35% up to more than 60% of the FC term itself. Several effects have been investigated, namely, the contribution of the long-range solvent reaction field, relativistic corrections, and conformational and vibrational effects.  相似文献

This work reports on the comprehensive calculation of the NMR one‐bond spin–spin coupling constants (SSCCs) involving carbon and tellurium, 1J(125Te,13C), in four representative compounds: Te(CH3)2, Te(CF3)2, Te(C?CH)2, and tellurophene. A high‐level computational treatment of 1J(125Te,13C) included calculations at the SOPPA level taking into account relativistic effects evaluated at the 4‐component RPA and DFT levels of theory, vibrational corrections, and solvent effects. The consistency of different computational approaches including the level of theory of the geometry optimization of tellurium‐containing compounds, basis sets, and methods used for obtainig spin–spin coupling values have also been discussed in view of reproducing the experimental values of the tellurium–carbon SSCCs. Relativistic corrections were found to play a major role in the calculation of 1J(125Te,13C) reaching as much as almost 50% of the total value of 1J(125Te,13C) while relativistic geometrical effects are of minor importance. The vibrational and solvent corrections account for accordingly about 3–6% and 0–4% of the total value. It is shown that taking into account relativistic corrections, vibrational corrections and solvent effects at the DFT level essentially improves the agreement of the non‐relativistic theoretical SOPPA results with experiment. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

A set of racemic 7-substituted 8-oxa-1-azabicyclo[4.3.0]nonanes have been prepared and configurational and conformational assignments made on the basis of the value of the geminal coupling constants for the C9 methylene protons. The limitations of the Bohlmann infrared criterion in studying the conformations of these compounds is discussed.  相似文献
