We use methods of harmonic analysis and group representation theory to study the spectral properties of the abstract parabolic operator \(\mathscr {L}= -\mathrm{d}/\mathrm{d}t+A\) in homogeneous function spaces. We focus on the dependency between various invertibility states of such an operator. In particular, we prove that often, a generally weaker state of invertibility implies a stronger state for \(\mathscr {L}\) under mild additional conditions. For example, we show that if the operator \(\mathscr {L}\) is surjective and the imaginary axis is not contained in the interior of the spectrum of A, then \(\mathscr {L}\) is invertible.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that for a positive operator A on a Hilbert \(C^*\)-module \( \mathscr {E} \), the range \( \mathscr {R}(A) \) of A is closed if and only if \( \mathscr {R}(A^\alpha ) \) is closed for all \(\alpha \in (0,1)\cup (1,+\,\infty )\), and this occurs if and only if \( \mathscr {R}(A)=\mathscr {R}(A^\alpha ) \) for all \(\alpha \in (0,1)\cup (1,+\,\infty )\). As an application, we prove that for an adjontable operator A if \(\mathscr {R}(A)\) is nonclosed, then \(\dim \left( \overline{\mathscr {R}(A)}/\mathscr {R}(A)\right) =+\,\infty \). Finally, we show that for an adjointable operator A if \( \overline{\mathscr {R}(A^*) } \) is orthogonally complemented in \( \mathscr {E} \), then under certain coditions there exists an idempotent C and a unique operator X such that \( XAX=X, AXA=CA, AX=C \) and \( XA=P_{A^*} \), where \( P_{A^*} \) is the orthogonal projection of \( \mathscr {E} \) onto \( \overline{\mathscr {R}(A^*)}\).  相似文献

Let k be an odd positive integer, L a lattice on a regular positive definite k-dimensional quadratic space over \(\mathbb {Q}\), \(N_L\) the level of L, and \(\mathscr {M}(L)\)  be the linear space of \(\theta \)-series attached to the distinct classes in the genus of L. We prove that, for an odd prime \(p|N_L\), if \(L_p=L_{p,1}\,\bot \, L_{p,2}\), where \(L_{p,1}\) is unimodular, \(L_{p,2}\) is (p)-modular, and \(\mathbb {Q}_pL_{p,2}\) is anisotropic, then \(\mathscr {M}(L;p):=\) \(\mathscr {M}(L)\) \(+T_{p^2}.\) \(\mathscr {M}(L)\)  is stable under the Hecke operator \(T_{p^2}\). If \(L_2\) is isometric to \(\left( \begin{array}{ll}0&{}\frac{1}{2}\\ \frac{1}{2}&{}0\end{array}\right) ^{\kappa }\,\bot \, \langle \varepsilon \rangle \) or \(\left( \begin{array}{ll}0&{}\frac{1}{2}\\ \frac{1}{2}&{}0\end{array}\right) ^{\kappa }\,\bot \, \langle 2\varepsilon \rangle \) or \(\left( \begin{array}{ll}0&{}1\\ 1&{}0\end{array}\right) ^{\kappa }\,\bot \, \langle \varepsilon \rangle \) with \(\varepsilon \in \mathbb {Z}_2^{\times }\) and \(\kappa :=\frac{k-1}{2}\), then \(\mathscr {M}(L;2):=T_{2^2}.\mathscr {M}(L)+T_{2^2}^2.\,\mathscr {M}(L)\) is stable under the Hecke operator \(T_{2^2}\). Furthermore, we determine some invariant subspaces of the cusp forms for the Hecke operators.  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact abelian group, \(\omega \) be a weighted function on \({\mathbb {R}}^+\), and let \(\mathfrak {D}\) be the Banach algebra \(L_0^\infty (G)^*\) or \(L_0^\infty (\omega )^*\). In this paper, we investigate generalized derivations on the noncommutative Banach algebra \(\mathfrak {D}\). We characterize \(\textsf {k}\)-(skew) centralizing generalized derivations of \(\mathfrak {D}\) and show that the zero map is the only \(\textsf {k}\)-skew commuting generalized derivation of \(\mathfrak {D}\). We also investigate the Singer–Wermer conjecture for generalized derivations of \(\mathfrak {D}\) and prove that the Singer–Wermer conjecture holds for a generalized derivation of \(\mathfrak {D}\) if and only if it is a derivation; or equivalently, it is nilpotent. Finally, we investigate the orthogonality of generalized derivations of \(L_0^\infty (\omega )^*\) and give several necessary and sufficient conditions for orthogonal generalized derivations of \(L_0^\infty (\omega )^*\).  相似文献

We prove the convergence of greedy and randomized versions of Schwarz iterative methods for solving linear elliptic variational problems based on infinite space splittings of a Hilbert space. For the greedy case, we show a squared error decay rate of \(O((m+1)^{-1})\) for elements of an approximation space \(\mathscr {A}_1\) related to the underlying splitting. For the randomized case, we show an expected squared error decay rate of \(O((m+1)^{-1})\) on a class \(\mathscr {A}_{\infty }^{\pi }\subset \mathscr {A}_1\) depending on the probability distribution.  相似文献

Let \(X=\mathscr {J}(\widetilde{\mathscr {C}})\), the Jacobian of a genus 2 curve \(\widetilde{\mathscr {C}}\) over \({\mathbb {C}}\), and let Y be the associated Kummer surface. Consider an ample line bundle \(L=\mathscr {O}(m\widetilde{\mathscr {C}})\) on X for an even number m, and its descent to Y, say \(L'\). We show that any dominating component of \({\mathscr {W}}^1_{d}(|L'|)\) corresponds to \(\mu _{L'}\)-stable Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles on Y. Further, for a smooth curve \(C\in |L|\) and a base-point free \(g^1_d\) on C, say (AV), we study the \(\mu _L\)-semistability of the rank-2 Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundle associated to (C, (AV)) on X. Under certain assumptions on C and the \(g^1_d\), we show that the above Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles are \(\mu _L\)-semistable.  相似文献

The set \(\mathcal {D}_n\) of all difunctional relations on an n element set is an inverse semigroup under a variation of the usual composition operation. We solve an open problem of Kudryavtseva and Maltcev (Publ Math Debrecen 78(2):253–282, 2011), which asks: What is the rank (smallest size of a generating set) of \(\mathcal {D}_n\)? Specifically, we show that the rank of \(\mathcal {D}_n\) is \(B(n)+n\), where B(n) is the nth Bell number. We also give the rank of an arbitrary ideal of \(\mathcal {D}_n\). Although \(\mathcal {D}_n\) bears many similarities with families such as the full transformation semigroups and symmetric inverse semigroups (all contain the symmetric group and have a chain of \(\mathscr {J}\)-classes), we note that the fast growth of \({\text {rank}}(\mathcal {D}_n)\) as a function of n is a property not shared with these other families.  相似文献

Using limiting interpolation techniques we study the relationship between Besov spaces \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/q}_{p,q}\) with zero classical smoothness and logarithmic smoothness \(-1/q\) defined by means of differences with similar spaces \(B^{0,b,d}_{p,q}\) defined by means of the Fourier transform. Among other things, we prove that \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/2}_{2,2}=B^{0,0,1/2}_{2,2}\). We also derive several results on periodic spaces \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/q}_{p,q}(\mathbb {T})\), including embeddings in generalized Lorentz–Zygmund spaces and the distribution of Fourier coefficients of functions of \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/q}_{p,q}(\mathbb {T})\).  相似文献

To every nonlinear differential expression there corresponds the so-called natural domain of definition. Usually, such a domain consists of Sobolev functions, sometimes with additional geometric constraints. There are, however, special nonlinear differential expressions (Jacobian determinants, div-curl products, etc.) whose special properties (higher integrability, weak-continuity, etc.) cannot be detected within their natural domain. We must consider them in a slightly larger class of functions. The grand Lebesgue space, denoted by \(\mathscr {L}^{p})(\mathbb X)\), and the corresponding grand Sobolev space \(\mathscr {W}^{1,p})(\mathbb X)\), turn out to be most effective. They were studied by many authors, largely in analogy with the questions concerning \(\mathscr {L}^p (\mathbb X)\) and \(\mathscr {W}^{1,p}(\mathbb X)\) spaces. The present paper is a continuation of these studies. We take on stage the grand p-harmonic energy integrals. These variational functionals involve both one-parameter family of integral averages and supremum with respect to the parameter. It is for this reason that the existence and uniqueness of the grand p-harmonic minimal mappings becomes a new (rather challenging) problem.  相似文献

In this note we first show, roughly speaking, that if \(\mathcal {B}\) is a Boolean algebra included in the natural way in the collection \(\mathcal {D}/_\sim \) of all equivalence classes of natural density sets of the natural numbers, modulo null density, then \(\mathcal {B}\) extends to a \(\sigma \)-algebra \(\Sigma \subset \mathcal {D}/_\sim \) and the natural density is \(\sigma \)-additive on \(\Sigma \). We prove the main tool employed in the argument in a more general setting, involving a kind of quantum state function, more precisely, a group-valued submeasure on an orthomodular lattice. At the end we discuss the construction of ‘non-distributive \(L^p\) spaces’ by means of submeasures on lattices.  相似文献

The purpose of this article is to extend to \(\mathbb {R}^{n}\) known results in dimension 2 concerning the structure of a Hilbert space with reproducing kernel of the space of Herglotz wave functions. These functions are the solutions of Helmholtz equation in \(\mathbb {R} ^{n}\) that are the Fourier transform of measures supported in the unit sphere with density in \(L^{2}(\mathbb {S}^{n-1})\). As a natural extension of this, we define Banach spaces of solutions of the Helmholtz equation in \(\mathbb {R}^{n}\) belonging to weighted Sobolev type spaces \(\mathcal {H}^{p}\) having in a non local norm that involves radial derivatives and spherical gradients. We calculate the reproducing kernel of the Herglotz wave functions and study in \(\mathcal {H}^{p}\) and in mixed norm spaces, the continuity of the orthogonal projection \(\mathcal {P}\) of \(\mathcal {H}^{2}\) onto the Herglotz wave functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we begin to develop a theory of character sheaves on an affine algebraic group G defined over an algebraically closed field \(\mathtt {k}\) of characteristic \(p>0\) using the approach developed by Boyarchenko and Drinfeld for unipotent groups. Let l be a prime different from p. Following Boyarchenko and Drinfeld (Sel Math, 2008. doi: 10.1007/s00029-013-0133-7, arXiv:0810.0794v1), we define the notion of an admissible pair on G and the corresponding idempotent in the \(\overline{\mathbb {Q}}_l\)-linear triangulated braided monoidal category \(\mathscr {D}_G(G)\) of conjugation equivariant \(\overline{\mathbb {Q}}_l\)-complexes (under convolution with compact support) and study their properties. In the spirit of Boyarchenko and Drinfeld (2008), we aim to break up the braided monoidal category \(\mathscr {D}_G(G)\) into smaller and more manageable pieces corresponding to these idempotents in \(\mathscr {D}_G(G)\). Drinfeld has conjectured that the idempotent in \(\mathscr {D}_G(G)\) obtained from an admissible pair is in fact a minimal idempotent and that any minimal idempotent in \(\mathscr {D}_G(G)\) can be obtained from some admissible pair on G. In this paper, we prove this conjecture in the case when the neutral connected component \(G^\circ \subset G\) is a solvable group. For general groups, we prove that this conjecture is in fact equivalent to an a priori weaker conjecture. Using these results, we reduce the problem of defining character sheaves on general algebraic groups to a special case which we call the “Heisenberg case.” Moreover, as we will see in this paper, the study of character sheaves in the Heisenberg case may be considered, in a certain sense, as a twisted version of the theory of character sheaves on reductive groups as developed by Lusztig (Adv Math 56, 57, 59, 61, 1985, 1986).  相似文献

We present a way to study a wide class of optimal design problems with a perimeter penalization. More precisely, we address existence and regularity properties of saddle points of energies of the form
$$\begin{aligned} (u,A) \quad \mapsto \quad \int _\Omega 2fu \,\mathrm {d}x \; - \int _{\Omega \cap A} \sigma _1\mathscr {A}u\cdot \mathscr {A}u \, \,\mathrm {d}x \; - \int _{\Omega {\setminus } A} \sigma _2\mathscr {A}u\cdot \mathscr {A}u \, \,\mathrm {d}x \; + \; \text {Per }(A;\overline{\Omega }), \end{aligned}$$
where \(\Omega \) is a bounded Lipschitz domain, \(A\subset \mathbb {R}^N\) is a Borel set, \(u:\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^N \rightarrow \mathbb {R}^d\), \(\mathscr {A}\) is an operator of gradient form, and \(\sigma _1, \sigma _2\) are two not necessarily well-ordered symmetric tensors. The class of operators of gradient form includes scalar- and vector-valued gradients, symmetrized gradients, and higher order gradients. Therefore, our results may be applied to a wide range of problems in elasticity, conductivity or plasticity models. In this context and under mild assumptions on f, we show for a solution (wA), that the topological boundary of \(A \cap \Omega \) is locally a \(\mathrm {C}^1\)-hypersurface up to a closed set of zero \(\mathscr {H}^{N-1}\)-measure.

Let \(\mathcal {X}_S\) denote the class of spaces homeomorphic to two closed orientable surfaces of genus greater than one identified to each other along an essential simple closed curve in each surface. Let \(\mathcal {C}_S\) denote the set of fundamental groups of spaces in \(\mathcal {X}_S\). In this paper, we characterize the abstract commensurability classes within \(\mathcal {C}_S\) in terms of the ratio of the Euler characteristic of the surfaces identified and the topological type of the curves identified. We prove that all groups in \(\mathcal {C}_S\) are quasi-isometric by exhibiting a bilipschitz map between the universal covers of two spaces in \(\mathcal {X}_S\). In particular, we prove that the universal covers of any two such spaces may be realized as isomorphic cell complexes with finitely many isometry types of hyperbolic polygons as cells. We analyze the abstract commensurability classes within \(\mathcal {C}_S\): we characterize which classes contain a maximal element within \(\mathcal {C}_S\); we prove each abstract commensurability class contains a right-angled Coxeter group; and, we construct a common CAT(0) cubical model geometry for each abstract commensurability class.  相似文献

Let X be a \((d\times N)\)-matrix. We consider the variable polytope \(\varPi _X(u) = \{ w \ge 0 : X w = u \}\). It is known that the function \(T_X\) that assigns to a parameter \(u \in \mathbb {R}^d\) the volume of the polytope \(\varPi _X(u)\) is piecewise polynomial. The Brion–Vergne formula implies that the number of lattice points in \(\varPi _X(u)\) can be obtained by applying a certain differential operator to the function \(T_X\). In this article, we slightly improve the Brion–Vergne formula and we study two spaces of differential operators that arise in this context: the space of relevant differential operators (i.e. operators that do not annihilate \(T_X\)) and the space of nice differential operators (i.e. operators that leave \(T_X\) continuous). These two spaces are finite-dimensional homogeneous vector spaces, and their Hilbert series are evaluations of the Tutte polynomial of the arithmetic matroid defined by the matrix X. They are closely related to the \(\mathscr {P}\)-spaces studied by Ardila–Postnikov and Holtz–Ron in the context of zonotopal algebra and power ideals.  相似文献

We find conditions for the weighted boundedness of a general class of multidimensional singular integral operators in generalized Morrey spaces \(\mathcal {L}^{p,\varphi }(\mathbb {R}^n,w),\) defined by a function \(\varphi (x,r)\) and radial type weight \(w(|x-x_0|), x_0\in {\mathbb {R}}^{n}.\) These conditions are given in terms of inclusion into \(\mathcal {L}^{p,\varphi }(\mathbb {R}^n,w),\) of a certain integral constructions defined by \(\varphi \) and w. In the case of \(\varphi =\varphi (r)\) we also provide easy to check sufficient conditions for that in terms of indices of \(\varphi \) and w.  相似文献

We are interested in the 3-Calabi-Yau categories \({\mathcal {D}}\) arising from quivers with potential associated to a triangulated marked surface \(\mathbf {S}\) (without punctures). We prove that the spherical twist group \(\mathrm{ST}\) of \({\mathcal {D}}\) is isomorphic to a subgroup (generated by braid twists) of the mapping class group of the decorated marked surface \({\mathbf {S}}_\bigtriangleup \). Here \({\mathbf {S}}_\bigtriangleup \) is the surface obtained from \(\mathbf {S}\) by decorating with a set of points, where the number of points equals the number of triangles in any triangulations of \(\mathbf {S}\). For instance, when \(\mathbf {S}\) is an annulus, the result implies that the corresponding spaces of stability conditions on \({\mathcal {D}}\) are contractible.  相似文献

Let \(\mathfrak {M}\) be a von Neumann algebra, and let \(\mathfrak {T}:\mathfrak {M} \rightarrow \mathfrak {M}\) be a bounded linear map satisfying \(\mathfrak {T}(P^{2}) = \mathfrak {T}(P)P + \Psi (P,P)\) for each projection P of \(\mathfrak {M}\), where \(\Psi :\mathfrak {M} \times \mathfrak {M} \rightarrow \mathfrak {M}\) is a bi-linear map. If \(\Psi \) is a bounded l-semi Hochschild 2-cocycle, then \(\mathfrak {T}\) is a left centralizer associated with \(\Psi \). By applying this conclusion, we offer a characterization of left \(\sigma \)-centralizers, generalized derivations and generalized \(\sigma \)-derivations on von Neumann algebras. Moreover, it is proved that if \(\mathfrak {M}\) is a commutative von Neumann algebra and \(\sigma :\mathfrak {M} \rightarrow \mathfrak {M}\) is an endomorphism, then every bi-\(\sigma \)-derivation \(D:\mathfrak {M} \times \mathfrak {M} \rightarrow \mathfrak {M}\) is identically zero.  相似文献
