Homo‐ and heteronuclear meso,meso‐(E)‐ethene‐1,2‐diyl‐linked diporphyrins have been prepared by the Suzuki coupling of porphyrinylboronates and iodovinylporphyrins. Combinations comprising 5,10,15‐triphenylporphyrin (TriPP) on both ends of the ethene‐1,2‐diyl bridge M210 (M2=H2/Ni, Ni2, Ni/Zn, H4, H2Zn, Zn2) and 5,15‐bis(3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl)porphyrinato‐nickel(II) on one end and H2, Ni, and ZnTriPP on the other ( M211 ), enable the first studies of this class of compounds possessing intrinsic polarity. The compounds were characterized by electronic absorption and steady state emission spectra, 1H NMR spectra, and for the Ni2 bis(TriPP) complex Ni210 , single crystal X‐ray structure determination. The crystal structure shows ruffled distortions of the porphyrin rings, typical of NiII porphyrins, and the (E)‐C2H2 bridge makes a dihedral angle of 50° with the mean planes of the macrocycles. The result is a stepped parallel arrangement of the porphyrin rings. The dihedral angles in the solid state reflect the interplay of steric and electronic effects of the bridge on interporphyrin communication. The emission spectra in particular, suggest energy transfer across the bridge is fast in conformations in which the bridge is nearly coplanar with the rings. Comparisons of the fluorescence behaviour of H410 and H2Ni10 show strong quenching of the free base fluorescence when the complex is excited at the lower energy component of the Soret band, a feature associated in the literature with more planar conformations. TDDFT calculations on the gas‐phase optimized geometry of Ni210 reproduce the features of the experimental electronic absorption spectrum within 0.1 eV.  相似文献

The title compound, C64H66B4N4O8·2C6H5NO2, is a nitrobenzene solvate of a meso‐tetraphenylporphyrin species with unconventional peripheral boronic ester substituents. The porphyrin units reside in the crystal on centers of inversion and exhibit a channel clathrate‐type structure, wherein molecules of nitrobenzene are accommodated in tunnels of width 7–8 Å that propagate through the crystal parallel to the b axis between layers of tightly offset‐stacked porphyrins. The scientific significance of the reported results is twofold. They describe the synthetic route to newly functionalized building blocks for the formulation of porphyrin‐based supramolecular assemblies, namely the corresponding tetraboronic acid derivative; the title compound represents an essential intermediate in this process. They reveal also that channel‐type clathrates can be formed not only with the parent tetraphenylporphyrins but also with their laterally extended derivatives.  相似文献

A series of covalently linked axially symmetric porphyrin–fullerene dyads with a rigid pyrrolo[3,4‐c]pyrrolic linker enabling a fixed and orthogonal arrangement of the chromophores has been synthesized and studied by means of transient absorption spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The lifetime of the charge‐separated state has been found to depend on the substituents on the porphyrin core, reaching up to 4 μs for a species with meso‐(p‐MeOC6H4) substituents. The ground and excited electronic states of model compounds have been calculated at the DFT and TD‐DFT B3LYP(6‐31G(d)) levels of theory and analyzed with regard to the effect of the substituent on the stabilization of the charge‐separated state in the porphyrin–fullerene ensemble with a view to explaining the observed dependence.  相似文献

Unsolvated 5,10,15,20‐tetra‐4‐pyridylporphyrin, C40H26N8, (I), its sesquihydrate, C40H26N8·1.514H2O, (II), and its 2‐chlorophenol disolvate, C40H26N8·2C6H5ClO, (III), reveal different conformational features of the porphyrin core. In (I), the latter is severely deformed from planarity, apparently in order to optimize the intermolecular interactions and efficient crystal packing of the molecular entities. The molecular framework has a C1 symmetry. In (II), the porphyrin molecules are located on symmetry axes, preserving the marked deformation from planarity of the porphyrin core. The molecular units are interlinked into a single‐framework supramolecular architecture by hydrogen bonding to one another via molecules of water, which lie on twofold rotation axes. In (III), the porphyrin molecules are located across centres of inversion and are characterized by a planar conformation of the 24‐membered macrocyclic porphyrin ring. Two trans‐related pyridyl substituents are hydrogen bonded to the 2‐chlorophenol solvent molecules. The interporphyrin organization in (III) is similar to that observed for many other tetraarylporphyrin compounds. However, the organization observed in (I) and (II) is different and of a type rarely observed before. This study reports for the first time the crystal structure of the unsolvated tetrapyridylporphyrin.  相似文献

A series of planar and nonplanar free‐base β‐pyrrole substituted meso‐tetraarylporphyrins were characterized by electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and protonation or deprotonation reactions in neutral, acidic, and basic solutions of CH2Cl2. The neutral compounds are represented as H2(P), in which P represents a porphyrin dianion with one of several different sets of electron‐withdrawing or ‐donating substituents at the messo and/or β‐pyrrole positions of the macrocycle. The conversion of H2(P) to [H4(P)]2+ in CH2Cl2 was accomplished by titration of the neutral porphyrin with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) while the progress of the protonation was monitored by UV/Vis spectroscopy, which was also used to calculate logβ2 for proton addition to the core nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle. Cyclic voltammetry was performed after each addition of TFA or TBAOH to CH2Cl2 solutions of the porphyrin and half‐wave potentials for reduction were evaluated as a function of the added acid or base concentration. Thin‐layer spectroelectrochemistry was used to obtain UV/Vis spectra of the neutral and protonated or deprotonated porphyrins under the application of an applied reducing potential. The magnitude of the protonation constants, the positions of λmax in the UV/Vis spectra and the half‐wave or peak potentials for reduction are then related to the electronic properties of the porphyrin and the data evaluated as a function of the planarity or nonplanarity of the porphyrin macrocycle. Surprisingly, the electroreduction of the diprotonated nonplanar porphyrins in acid media leads to H2(P), whereas the nonplanar H2(P) derivatives are reduced to [(P)]2? in CH2Cl2 containing 0.1 M tetra‐n‐butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP). Thus, in both cases an electrochemically initiated deprotonation is observed.  相似文献

This study targets the construction of porphyrin assemblies directed by halogen bonds, by utilizing a series of purposely synthesized Sn(axial ligand)2–(5,10,15,20‐tetraarylporphyrin) [Sn(L)2‐TArP] complexes as building units. The porphyrin moiety and the axial ligands in these compounds contain different combinations of complimentary molecular recognition functions. The former bears p‐iodophenyl, p‐bromophenyl, 4′‐pyridyl, or 3′‐pyridyl substituents at the meso positions of the porphyrin ring. The latter comprises either a carboxylate or hydroxy anchor for attachment to the porphyrin‐inserted tin ion and a pyridyl‐, benzotriazole‐, or halophenyl‐type aromatic residue as the potential binding site. The various complexes were structurally analyzed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, accompanied by computational modeling evaluations. Halogen‐bonding interactions between the lateral aryl substituents of one unit of the porphyrin complex and the axial ligands of neighboring moieties was successfully expressed in several of the resulting samples. Their occurrence is affected by structural (for example, specific geometry of the six‐coordinate complexes) and electronic effects (for example, charge densities and electrostatic potentials). The shortest intermolecular I???N halogen‐bonding distance of 2.991 Å was observed between iodophenyl (porphyrin) and benzotriazole (axial ligand) moieties. Manifestation of halogen bonds in these relatively bulky compounds without further activation of the halophenyl donor groups by electron‐withdrawing substituents is particularly remarkable.  相似文献

As representative porphyrin model compounds, the structures of `picket‐fence' porphyrins have been studied intensively. The title solvated complex salt {systematic name: (4,7,13,16,21,24‐hexaoxa‐1,10‐diazabicyclo[8.8.8]hexacosane)potassium(I) [5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(2‐tert‐butanamidophenyl)porphyrinato]iron(II) n‐hexane monosolvate}, [K(C18H36N2O6)][Fe(C64H64N8O4)Cl]·C6H14 or [K(222)][Fe(TpivPP)Cl]·C6H14 [222 is cryptand‐222 or 4,7,13,16,21,24‐hexaoxa‐1,10‐diazabicyclo[8.8.8]hexacosane, and TpivPP is meso‐α,α,α,α‐tetrakis(o‐pivalamidophenyl)porphyrinate(2−)], [K(222)][Fe(TpivPP)Cl]·C6H14, is a five‐coordinate high‐spin iron(II) picket‐fence porphyrin complex. It crystallizes with a potassium cation chelated inside a cryptand‐222 molecule; the average K—O and K—N distances are 2.81 (2) and 3.05 (2) Å, respectively. One of the protecting tert‐butyl pickets is disordered. The porphyrin plane presents a moderately ruffled distortion, as suggested by the atomic displacements. The axial chloride ligand is located inside the molecular cavity on the hindered porphyrin side and the Fe—Cl bond is tilted slightly off the normal to the porphyrin plane by 4.1°. The out‐of‐plane displacement of the metal centre relative to the 24‐atom mean plane (Δ24) is 0.62 Å, indicating a noticeable doming of the porphyrin core.  相似文献

Directly meso‐meso, ββ, ββ triply linked porphyrin arrays are exceptional π‐conjugated molecules exhibiting remarkably red‐shifted absorption bands extending deeply in the IR region. In order to determine the effective conjugated length (ECL), we embarked on the synthesis of the porphyrin tapes far beyond the 12‐mer, which is the longest we have prepared so far. In this study, to find the compromise between the feasibility of the meso‐meso coupling reaction up to longer arrays and the sufficient solubility and chemical stability of the resultant porphyrin tapes, we prepared hybrid meso‐meso linked porphyrin arrays BOn up to 24‐mer, which have two different aryl groups, a 2,4,6‐tris(3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenoxy) phenyl group (Ar1) and a 3,5‐dioctyloxy phenyl group (Ar2). All these arrays were effectively converted into the corresponding triply linked porphyrin tapes TBOn by oxidation with DDQ‐Sc(OTf)3. Importantly, the low energy Q‐band‐like absorption bands of TBOn are progressively red‐shifted with an increase in the number of porphyrins n until 16 but the red‐shift is saturated at n=16, indicating the ECL of the porphyrin tape to be around 14–16. The regularly introduced meso‐aryl bulky substituents impose facial encumbrance, hence leading to the effective suppression of π–π interactions as well as improvement of the chemical stabilities of TBOn .  相似文献

Tetraphenyl N‐confused porphyrins (NCTPP) bearing amino substituents were synthesized for the purpose of functionalization toward water‐soluble and biocompatible molecules. The Pd‐catalyzed coupling reaction of 4‐ethynylaniline with the 2‐bromo NCTPP Ag(III) complex yields Pd(II) and Ag(III) coupling products ( 4a and 4b ), at 39% and 55%, respectively. The identities of these products were confirmed by the differences in the isotope patterns of their molecular ion peaks as well as other spectroscopic data. The Ag(III) coupling product, 4b , was demetallated to form the final product, 5 , with a yield of 85%. The meso‐tetrakis(4‐nitrophenyl) N‐confused porphyrin, 6 , was synthesized through a methanesulfonic acid catalyzed condensation of pyrrole with the 4‐nitrobenzaldehyde with a yield of 6.8%. Reduction of the compound to meso tetrakis(4‐aminophenyl) N‐confused porphyrin, 7 , was achieved with a yield of 90%.  相似文献

A novel class of β‐functionalized push–pull zinc opp ‐dibenzoporphyrins were designed, synthesized, and utilized as sensitizers for dye‐sensitized solar cells. Spectral, electrochemical, and computational studies were systematically performed to evaluate their spectral coverage, redox behavior, and electronic structures. These porphyrins displayed much broader spectral coverage and more facile oxidation upon extension of the π conjugation. Free‐energy calculations and femtosecond transient absorption studies (charge injection rate in the range of 1011 s−1) suggested efficient charge injection from the excited singlet state of the porphyrin to the conduction band of TiO2. The power conversion efficiency (η ) of YH3 bearing acrylic acid linkers (η =5.9 %) was close to that of the best ruthenium dye N719 (η =7.4 %) under similar conditions. The superior photovoltaic performance of YH3 was attributed to its higher light‐harvesting ability and more favorable electron injection and collection, as supported by electrochemical impedance spectral studies. This work demonstrates the exceptional potential of benzoporphyrins as sensitizers for dye‐sensitized solar cells.  相似文献

A2B‐type B‐methoxy subporphyrins 3 a – g and B‐phenyl subporphyrins 7 a – c , e , g bearing meso‐(2‐substituted)aryl substituents are synthesized, and their rotational dynamics are examined through variable‐temperature (VT) 1H NMR spectroscopy. In these subporphyrins, the rotation of meso‐aryl substituents is hindered by a rationally installed 2‐substituent. The rotational barriers determined are considerably smaller than those reported previously for porphyrins. Comparison of the rotation activation parameters reveals a variable contribution of ΔH and ΔS in ΔG. 2‐Methyl and 2‐ethyl groups of the meso‐aryl substituents in subporphyrins 3 e , 3 f , and 7 e induce larger rotational barriers than 2‐alkoxyl substituents. The rotational barriers of 3 g and 7 g are reduced by the presence of the 4‐dibenzylamino group owing to its ability to stabilize the coplanar rotation transition state electronically. The smaller rotational barriers found for B‐phenyl subporphyrins than for B‐methoxy subporphyrins indicate a negligible contribution of SN1‐type heterolysis in the rotation of meso‐aryl substituents.  相似文献

7‐(o‐Substituted phenyl)‐2,6‐dimethyl‐1,4‐benzoquinone methides which have an electron‐donating methoxy‐(o‐OMe, 2a ) and methyl‐ (o‐Me, 2b ) substituents or an electron‐withdrawing cyano‐ (o‐CN, 2c ) and trifluoromethyl‐ (o‐CF3, 2d ) substituents at the ortho‐position of the aromatic ring and 7‐(m‐substituted phenyl)‐2,6‐dimethyl‐1,4‐benzoquinone methide with an electron‐withdrawing trifluoromethyl‐ (m‐CF3, 2e ) substituent at the meta‐position of the aromatic ring were synthesized, and their asymmetric anionic polymerizations using the complex of lithium 4‐isopropylphenoxide with (?)‐sparteine were carried out in toluene at 0 °C. The polymers with negative optical activity were obtained for all of five monomers, and their specific rotation values largely changed depending upon the substituents of the monomers. On the basis of the comparison of various substituents effects, it was found that the specific rotation of obtained polymers is significantly affected by the electronic effects such as inductive and resonance effects rather than the steric and electrostatic effects of the substituent. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Iron(III)‐5,15‐diphenylporphyrin and several derivatives were accommodated by HasA, a heme acquisition protein secreted by Pseudomonas aeruginosa , despite possessing bulky substituents at the meso position of the porphyrin. Crystal structure analysis revealed that the two phenyl groups at the meso positions of porphyrin extend outside HasA. It was shown that the growth of P. aeruginosa was inhibited in the presence of HasA coordinating the synthetic porphyrins under iron‐limiting conditions, and that the structure of the synthetic porphyrins greatly affects the inhibition efficiency.  相似文献

A series of meta‐substituted fatty acid octaester derivatives and their transition‐metal complexes of meso‐ tetraphenyl porphyrins (TPP‐8OOCR, with R=Cn?1H2n?1, n=8, 12, or 16) have been prepared through very simple synthesis protocols. The thermotropic phase behavior and the liquid crystalline (LC) organization structures of the synthesized porphyrin derivatives were systematically investigated by a combination of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM), and variable‐temperature small‐angle X‐ray scattering/wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS) techniques. The shorter octanoic acid ester substituted porphyrin (C8‐TPP) did not show liquid crystallinity and its metal porphyrins exhibited an uncommon columnar mesophase. The lauric acid octaester (C12‐TPP) and the palmitic acid octaester (C16‐TPP) series porphyrins generated hexagonal columnar mesophase Colh. Moreover, the metal porphyrins C12‐TPPM and C16‐TPPM with M=Zn, Cu, or Ni, exhibited well‐organized Colh mesophases of broad LC temperature ranges increasing in the order of TPPNi<TPPCu≤TPPZn with their increased effective ionic radii in the square‐planar coordination. The simplicity in synthesis, the well intercolumnar organization of Colh mesophase, the broadness of the discotic LC range, and the specific UV/Vis absorption and fluorescence emission behaviors make the symmetrically substituted fatty acid octaester porphyrins and their metal complexes very attractive for variant applications.  相似文献

A 2,6‐distyryl‐substituted boradiazaindacene (BODIPY) dye and a new series of 2,6‐p‐dimethylaminostyrene isomers containing both α‐ and β‐position styryl substituents were synthesized by reacting styrene and p‐dimethylaminostyrene with an electron‐rich diiodo‐BODIPY. The dyes were characterized by X‐ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy and their photophysical properties were investigated and analyzed by carrying out a series of theoretical calculations. The absorption spectra contain markedly redshifted absorbance bands due to conjugation between the styryl moieties and the main BODIPY fluorophore. Very low fluorescence quantum yields and significant Stokes shifts are observed for 2,6‐distyryl‐substituted BODIPYs, relative to analogous 3,5‐distyryl‐ and 1,7‐distyryl‐substituted BODIPYs. Although the fluorescence of the compound with β‐position styryl substituents on both pyrrole moieties and one with both β‐ and α‐position substituents was completely quenched, the compound with only α‐position substituents exhibits weak emission in polar solvents, but moderately intense emission with a quantum yield of 0.49 in hexane. Protonation studies have demonstrated that these 2,6‐p‐dimethylaminostyrene isomers can be used as sensors for changes in pH. Theoretical calculations provide strong evidence that styryl rotation and the formation of non‐emissive charge‐separated S1 states play a pivotal role in shaping the fluorescence properties of these dyes. Molecular orbital theory is used as a conceptual framework to describe the electronic structures of the BODIPY core and an analysis of the angular nodal patterns provides a reasonable explanation for why the introduction of substituents at different positions on the BODIPY core has markedly differing effects.  相似文献

C3‐(Trans‐2‐arylethenyl)carbonylated chlorophyll derivatives possessing a bacteriochlorin or chlorin π‐system were synthesized by cross‐aldol (Claisen–Schmidt) condensation of methyl pyrobacteriopheophorbide‐a or 3‐acetyl‐3‐devinyl‐pyropheophorbide‐a bearing the C3‐acetyl group with p‐(un)substituted benzaldehydes under basic conditions. The corresponding porphyrin‐type chlorophyll derivatives were prepared by the oxidation (17,18‐didehydrogenation) of the chlorin‐type. Their Qy absorption and fluorescence emission maxima in dichloromethane correlated well with Hammett substituent constants of the p‐substituents. Several electron‐withdrawing p‐substituents suppressed the emission due to photoinduced electron transfer quenching in a molecule. The substitution sensitivities for their maxima and fluorescence quantum yields decreased in the order of bacteriochlorin‐, chlorin‐ and porphyrin‐type derivatives.  相似文献

A series of zinc porphyrins substituted at adjacent β‐positions with a CN group and para‐substituted ethenyl/ethynyl‐phenyl group have been studied using electronic absorption spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy and DFT calculations. The oxidative nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen was utilized for the introduction of a cyano substituent on the porphyrin ring. This modification has a remarkable electronic effect on the ring. The resulting porphyrin cyanoaldehyde was further modified in Wittig condensations to give series of arylalkene‐ and arylalkyne‐substituted derivatives. This substitution pattern caused significant redshifting and broadening of the B band, tuning from 433–446 nm. Additionally the Q/B band intensity ratios show much higher values than observed for the parent porphyrin ZnTPP (0.20 vs. 0.03). Careful analysis of the electronic transitions using DFT and resonance Raman spectroscopy reveal that the substituent does not significantly perturb the electronic structure of the porphyrin core, which is still well described by Gouterman’s four‐orbital model. However, the substituents do play a role in elongating the conjugation length and this results in the observed spectral changes.  相似文献

Anion complexes of anion‐responsive π‐electronic molecules can behave as pseudo π‐electronic anions providing various ion pairs in combination with countercations. In this study, single crystals of ion‐pairing assemblies comprising porphyrin–AuIII complexes and Cl? complexes of dipyrrolyldiketone BF2 complexes were prepared from 1:1 mixtures of anion receptors and the Cl? salts of cationic porphyrins in solution. In the solid state, the ion pairs formed characteristic assemblies, depending on the substituents of the anion receptors and porphyrin–AuIII complexes. Theoretical calculations on the ion pairs revealed that the stacking structures are stabilized by compensating positive and negative charges as well as π–π interactions.  相似文献

Mono‐ and bis(diphenylborane)‐fused porphyrins were synthesized from the corresponding β‐(2‐trimethylsilylphenyl)‐substituted porphyrins through the sequence of Si–B exchange reaction, intramolecular bora‐Friedel–Crafts reaction, and ring‐closing Si–B exchange reaction. Effective electronic interactions of the empty p‐orbital of the boron atom with the porphyrin π‐circuit lead to red‐shifted absorption spectra and substantially decreased LUMO energy levels. Pyridine adds at the boron center to cause disruption of the electronic interaction of the boron atom with large association constants (1.9–17×104 m ?1) depending on the central metal at the porphyrin. The ZnII complex behaved as a hetero‐dinuclear Lewis acid, exhibiting regioselective binding of pyridines at the boron or the zinc center.  相似文献

In this study we synthesized two‐ and four‐armed porphyrins – bearing two carboxyl and four 2‐aminoquinolino functionalities, respectively, at their meso positions – as a complementary hydrogen bonding pair for the self‐assembly of a D2‐symmetric porphyrin trimer host. Two units of the two‐armed porphyrin and one unit of the four‐armed porphyrin self‐assembled quantitatively into the D2‐symmetric porphyrin trimer, stabilized through ammidinium‐carboxylate salt bridge formation, in CH2Cl2 and CHCl3. The porphyrin trimer host gradually bound two units of 1,3,5‐trinitrobenzene between the pair of porphyrin units, forming a five‐layer aromatic structure. At temperatures below ?40 °C, the rates of association and dissociation of the complexes were slow on the NMR spectroscopic time scale, allowing the 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 complexes of the trimer host and trinitrobenzene guest(s) to be detected independently when using less than 2 eq of trinitrobenzene. Vis titration experiments revealed the values of K1 (2.1±0.4×105 M?1) and K2 (2.2±0.06×104 M?1) in CHCl3 at room temperature.  相似文献
