We consider the N-site integrable spin chain with periodic and open diagonal soliton-preserving boundary conditions. By employing analytical Bethe ansatz techniques we are able to determine the spectrum and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations for the general case, where each site of the spin chain is associated to any representation of In the case of open spin chain, we study finite dimensional representations of the quantum reflection algebra, and prove in full generality that the pseudo-vacuum is a highest weight of the monodromy matrix. For these two types of spin chain, we study the (generalized) “algebraic” fusion procedures, which amount to construct the quantum contraction and the Sklyanin determinant for the and quantum reflection algebras. We also determine the symmetry algebra of these two types of spin chains, including general K and K+ diagonal matrices for the open case. The case of open spin chains with soliton non-preserving boundary conditions is also presented in the framework of quantum twisted Yangians. The symmetry algebra of this spin chains is studied. We also give an exhaustive classification of the invertible matricial solutions to the corresponding reflection equation. For an l-graph , the Turán number is the maximum number of edges in an n-vertex l-graph containing no copy of . The limit is known to exist [8]. The Ramsey–Turán density is defined similarly to except that we restrict to only those with independence number o(n). A result of Erdős and Sós [3] states that as long as for every edge E of there is another edge E′of for which |EE′|≥2. Therefore a natural question is whether there exists for which . Another variant proposed in [3] requires the stronger condition that every set of vertices of of size at least εn (0<ε<1) has density bounded below by some threshold. By definition, for every . However, even is not known for very many l-graphs when l>2. We prove the existence of a phenomenon similar to supersaturation for Turán problems for hypergraphs. As a consequence, we construct, for each l≥3, infinitely many l-graphs for which . We also prove that the 3-graph with triples 12a, 12b, 12c, 13a, 13b, 13c, 23a, 23b, 23c, abc, satisfies . The existence of a hypergraph satisfying was conjectured by Erdős and Sós [3], proved by Frankl and R?dl [6], and later by Sidorenko [14]. We consider a boundary value problem for an elliptic differential operator of order 2m in a domain . The boundary of is smooth outside a smooth manifold Y of dimension 0 ≤ q < n − 1, and bears edge type singularities along Y . The Lopatinskii condition is assumed to be fulfilled on the smooth part of . The corresponding spaces are weighted Sobolev spaces , and this allows one to define ellipticity of weight γ for the problem. The resolvent of the problem is assumed to possess rays of minimal growth. The main result says that if there are rays of minimal growth with angles between neighbouring rays not exceeding π(γ + 2m)/n, then the root functions of the problem are complete in . In the case of second order elliptic equations the results remain true for all domains with Lipschitz boundary. Communicated by Michael Shapiro. When A ∈ B(H) and B ∈ B(K) are given, we denote by Mc an operator acting on the Hilbert space HΘ K of the form Me = ( A0 CB). In this paper, first we give the necessary and sufficient condition for Mc to be an upper semi-Fredholm (lower semi-Fredholm, or Fredholm) operator for some C ∈B(K,H). In addition, let σSF+(A) = {λ ∈ C : A-λI is not an upper semi-Fredholm operator} bc the upper semi-Fredholm spectrum of A ∈ B(H) and let σrsF- (A) = {λ∈ C : A-λI is not a lower semi-Fredholm operator} be the lower semi Fredholm spectrum of A. We show that the passage from σSF±(A) U σSF±(B) to σSF±(Mc) is accomplished by removing certain open subsets of σSF-(A) ∩σSF+ (B) from the former, that is, there is an equality σSF±(A) ∪σSF± (B) = σSF± (Mc) ∪& where L is the union of certain of the holes in σSF±(Mc) which ilappen to be subsets of σSF- (A) A σSF+ (B). Weyl's theorem and Browder's theorem are liable to fail for 2 × 2 operator matrices. The purpose of this paper is to give characterizations for uniform exponential dichotomy of evolution families on the real line. We consider a general class of Banach function spaces denoted and we prove that if with and the pair is admissible for an evolution family then is uniformly exponentially dichotomic. By an example we show that the admissibility of the pair for an evolution family is not a sufficient condition for uniform exponential dichotomy.
