Relying on the notion of set-valued Lie bracket introduced in an earlier paper, we extend some classical results valid for smooth vector fields to the case when the vector fields are just Lipschitz. In particular, we prove that the flows of two Lipschitz vector fields commute for small times if and only if their Lie bracket vanishes everywhere (i.e., equivalently, if their classical Lie bracket vanishes almost everywhere). We also extend the asymptotic formula that gives an estimate of the lack of commutativity of two vector fields in terms of their Lie bracket, and prove a simultaneous flow box theorem for commuting families of Lipschitz vector fields.  相似文献

Dupire’s functional Itô calculus provides an alternative approach to the classical Malliavin calculus for the computation of sensitivities, also called Greeks, of path-dependent derivatives prices. In this paper, we introduce a measure of path-dependence of functionals within the functional Itô calculus framework. Namely, we consider the Lie bracket of the space and time functional derivatives, which we use to classify functionals accordingly to their degree of path-dependence. We then revisit the problem of efficient numerical computation of Greeks for path-dependent derivatives using integration by parts techniques. Special attention is paid to path-dependent functionals with zero Lie bracket, called locally weakly path-dependent functionals in our classification. Hence, we derive the weighted-expectation formulas for their Greeks. In the more general case of fully path-dependent functionals, we show that, equipped with the functional Itô calculus, we are able to analyze the effect of the Lie bracket on the computation of Greeks. Moreover, we are also able to consider the more general dynamics of path-dependent volatility. These were not achieved using Malliavin calculus.  相似文献

Euler’s equations for a two-dimensional fluid can be written in the Hamiltonian form, where the Poisson bracket is the Lie–Poisson bracket associated with the Lie algebra of divergence-free vector fields. For the two-dimensional hydrodynamics of ideal fluids, we propose a derivation of the Poisson brackets using a reduction from the bracket associated with the full algebra of vector fields. Taking the results of some recent studies of the deformations of Lie–Poisson brackets of vector fields into account, we investigate the dispersive deformations of the Poisson brackets of Euler’s equation: we show that they are trivial up to the second order.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Ricci flow of solvmanifolds whose Lie algebra has an abelian ideal of codimension one, by using the bracket flow. We prove that solutions to the Ricci flow are immortal, the ω-limit of bracket flow solutions is a single point, and that for any sequence of times there exists a subsequence in which the Ricci flow converges, in the pointed topology, to a manifold which is locally isometric to a flat manifold. We give a functional which is non-increasing along a normalized bracket flow that will allow us to prove that given a sequence of times, one can extract a subsequence converging to an algebraic soliton, and to determine which of these limits are flat. Finally, we use these results to prove that if a Lie group in this class admits a Riemannian metric of negative sectional curvature, then the curvature of any Ricci flow solution will become negative in finite time.  相似文献

We examine Lie (super)algebroids equipped with a homological section, i.e., an odd section that ‘self-commutes’, we refer to such Lie algebroids as inner Q-algebroids: these provide natural examples of suitably “superised” Q-algebroids in the sense of Mehta. Such Lie algebroids are a natural generalisation of Q-manifolds and Lie superalgebras equipped with a homological element. Amongst other results, we show that, via the derived bracket formalism, the space of sections of an inner Q-algebroid comes equipped with an odd Loday–Leibniz bracket.  相似文献

2-Dimensional almost-Riemannian structures are generalized Riemannian structures on surfaces for which a local orthonormal frame is given by a Lie bracket generating pair of vector fields that can become collinear. Generically, there are three types of points: Riemannian points where the two vector fields are linearly independent, Grushin points where the two vector fields are collinear but their Lie bracket is not, and tangency points where the two vector fields and their Lie bracket are collinear and the missing direction is obtained with one more bracket.In this paper we consider the problem of finding normal forms and functional invariants at each type of point. We also require that functional invariants are “complete” in the sense that they permit to recognize locally isometric structures.The problem happens to be equivalent to the one of finding a smooth canonical parameterized curve passing through the point and being transversal to the distribution.For Riemannian points such that the gradient of the Gaussian curvature K is different from zero, we use the level set of K as support of the parameterized curve. For Riemannian points such that the gradient of the curvature vanishes (and under additional generic conditions), we use a curve which is found by looking for crests and valleys of the curvature. For Grushin points we use the set where the vector fields are parallel.Tangency points are the most complicated to deal with. The cut locus from the tangency point is not a good candidate as canonical parameterized curve since it is known to be non-smooth. Thus, we analyse the cut locus from the singular set and we prove that it is not smooth either. A good candidate appears to be a curve which is found by looking for crests and valleys of the Gaussian curvature. We prove that the support of such a curve is uniquely determined and has a canonical parametrization.  相似文献

The space of vector-valued forms on any manifold is a graded Lie algebra with respect to the Frölicher-Nijenhuis bracket. In this paper we consider multiplicative vector-valued forms on Lie groupoids and show that they naturally form a graded Lie subalgebra. Any commutative algebra equipped with a derivation may be turned into a Lie algebra under the Wronskian bracket. This provides an entirely new sort of a universal envelope for a Lie algebra, the Wronskian envelope. The main result of this paper is the characterization of those Lie algebras which embed into their Wronskian envelope as Lie algebras of vector fields on a line. As a consequence we show that, in contrast to the classical situation, free Lie algebras almost never embed into their Wronskian envelope.  相似文献

We define the Hermitian tangent valued forms of a complex 1-dimensional line bundle equipped with a Hermitian metric. We provide a local characterization of these forms in terms of a local basis and of a local fibred chart. We show that these forms constitute a graded Lie algebra through the Frölicher–Nijenhuis bracket.Moreover, we provide a global characterization of this graded Lie algebra, via a given Hermitian connection, in terms of the tangent valued forms and forms of the base space. Two homology theories of multiplicative Lie rings are constructed, studied and compared with the usual homology theories of groups and Lie rings. Central extensions of multiplicative Lie rings are introduced. It is shown that the Steinberg multiplicative Lie ring of a ring is the direct product of the Steinberg group (viewed as a multiplicative Lie ring under the commutator bracket) and the Steinberg Lie ring.  相似文献

Generalized Schouten, Frölicher–Nijenhuis and Frölicher–Richardson brackets are defined for an arbitrary Lie algebroid. Tangent and cotangent lifts of Lie algebroids are introduced and discussed and the behaviour of the related graded Lie brackets under these lifts is studied. In the case of the canonical Lie algebroid on the tangent bundle, a new common generalization of the Frölicher–Nijenhuis and the symmetric Schouten brackets, as well as embeddings of the Nijenhuis–Richardson and the Frölicher–Nijenhuis bracket into the Schouten bracket, are obtained.  相似文献

Two-dimensional almost-Riemannian structures are generalized Riemannian structures on surfaces for which a local orthonormal frame is given by a Lie bracket generating pair of vector fields that can become collinear. We study the relation between the topological invariants of an almost-Riemannian structure on a compact oriented surface and the rank-two vector bundle over the surface which defines the structure. We analyse the generic case including the presence of tangency points, i.e. points where two generators of the distribution and their Lie bracket are linearly dependent. The main result of the paper provides a classification of oriented almost-Riemannian structures on compact oriented surfaces in terms of the Euler number of the vector bundle corresponding to the structure. Moreover, we present a Gauss–Bonnet formula for almost-Riemannian structures with tangency points.  相似文献

Hochschild cohomology governs deformations of algebras, and its graded Lie structure plays a vital role. We study this structure for the Hochschild cohomology of the skew group algebra formed by a finite group acting on an algebra by automorphisms. We examine the Gerstenhaber bracket with a view toward deformations and developing bracket formulas. We then focus on the linear group actions and polynomial algebras that arise in orbifold theory and representation theory; deformations in this context include graded Hecke algebras and symplectic reflection algebras. We give some general results describing when brackets are zero for polynomial skew group algebras, which allow us in particular to find noncommutative Poisson structures. For abelian groups, we express the bracket using inner products of group characters. Lastly, we interpret results for graded Hecke algebras.  相似文献
