We consider the strongly elliptic operator A of order 2m in the divergence form with bounded measurable coefficients and assume that the coefficients of top order are uniformly continuous. For 1<p<∞, A is a bounded linear operator from the Lp Sobolev space Hm,p into Hm,p. We will prove that (Aλ)−1 exists in Hm,p for some λ and estimate its operator norm.  相似文献

We consider the asymptotic formula of spectral functions for elliptic operators with non-smooth coefficients of order 2m in . If the coefficients of top order are Hölder continuous of exponent τ∈(0,1], we can derive the remainder estimate of the form O(t(nθ)/2m) with any θ∈(0,τ). This result holds without the condition 2m>n, which was always assumed in many papers. We also show that the spectral function is differentiable up to order <m.  相似文献

Area integral functions are introduced for sectorial operators on Lp-spaces. We establish the equivalence between the square and area integral functions for sectorial operators on Lp spaces. This follows that the results of Cowling, Doust, McIntosh, Yagi, and Le Merdy on Hinfin functional calculus of sectorial operators on Lp-spaces hold true when the square functions are replaced by the area integral functions.  相似文献

Let d be a real number, let s be in a fixed compact set of the strip 1/2<σ<1, and let L(s,χ) be the Dirichlet L-function. The hypothesis is that for any real number d there exist ‘many’ real numbers τ such that the shifts L(s+iτ,χ) and L(s+idτ,χ) are ‘near’ each other. If d is an algebraic irrational number then this was obtained by T. Nakamura. ?. Pańkowski solved the case then d is a transcendental number. We prove the case then d≠0 is a rational number. If d=0 then by B. Bagchi we know that the above hypothesis is equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis for the given Dirichlet L-function. The aim of this paper is to prove the well-posedness (existence and uniqueness) of the Lp entropy solution to the homogeneous Dirichlet problems for the anisotropic degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equations with Lp initial value. We use the device of doubling variables and some technical analysis to prove the uniqueness result. Moreover we can prove that the Lp entropy solution can be obtained as the limit of solutions of the corresponding regularized equations of nondegenerate parabolic type.  相似文献

This paper presents the study of maximal regularity properties for anisotropic differential-operator equations with VMO (vanishing mean oscillation) coefficients. We prove that the corresponding differential operator is separable and is a generator of analytic semigroup in vector-valued Lp spaces. Moreover, discreetness of spectrum and completeness of root elements of this operator is obtained.  相似文献

We characterize the p-approximation property (p-AP) introduced by Sinha and Karn [D.P. Sinha, A.K. Karn, Compact operators whose adjoints factor through subspaces of ?p, Studia Math. 150 (2002) 17-33] in terms of density of finite rank operators in the spaces of p-compact and of adjoints of p-summable operators. As application, the p-AP of dual Banach spaces is characterized via density of finite rank operators in the space of quasi-p-nuclear operators. This relates the p-AP to Saphar's approximation property APp. As another application, the p-AP is characterized via a trace condition, allowing to define the trace functional on certain subspaces of the space of nuclear operators.  相似文献

We give some p-adic integral representations for the two-variable p-adic L-functions introduced recently by G. Fox. For powers of the Teichmüller character, we use the integral representation to extend the L-function to a larger domain, in which it is a meromorphic function in the first variable and an analytic element in the second. These integral representations imply systems of congruences for the generalized Bernoulli polynomials, improving previous results of Fox, Gunaratne, and the author; they also lead to generalizations of some formulas of Diamond and of Ferrero and Greenberg for p-adic L-functions in terms of the p-adic gamma and log gamma functions.  相似文献

For an elliptic curve E over Q, and a real quadratic extension F of Q, satisfying suitable hypotheses, we study the algebraic part of certain twisted L-values for E/F. The Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture predicts that these L-values are squares of rational numbers. We show that this question is related to the ratio of Petersson inner products of a quaternionic form on a definite quaternion algebra over Q and its base change to F.  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact group and let p∈(1,∞). Let be any of the Banach spaces Cδ,p(G), PFp(G), Mp(G), APp(G), WAPp(G), UCp(G), PMp(G), of convolution operators on Lp(G). It is shown that PFp(G)′ can be isometrically embedded into UCp(G)′. The structure of maximal regular ideals of (and of MAp(G)″, Bp(G)″, Wp(G)″) is studied. Among other things it is shown that every maximal regular left (right, two sided) ideal in is either dense or is the annihilator of a unique element in the spectrum of Ap(G). Minimal ideals of is also studied. It is shown that a left ideal M in is minimal if and only if , where Ψ is either a right annihilator of or is a topologically x-invariant element (for some xG). In this paper we complete the study of the regularity of the free boundary in two-phase problems for linear elliptic operators started in [M.C. Cerutti, F. Ferrari, S. Salsa, Two-phase problems for linear elliptic operators with variable coefficients: Lipschitz free boundaries are C1,γ, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 171 (2004) 329-348]. In particular we prove that Lipschitz and flat free boundaries (in a suitable sense) are smooth. As byproduct, we prove that Lipschitz free boundaries are smooth in the case of quasilinear operators of the form div(A(x,u)∇u) with Lipschitz coefficients.  相似文献

The convergence problem of approximate solutions for a semilinear elliptic boundary value problem in the divergence form is studied. The equation ut=Δp(u1/(p−1)) for p>1 is a nonlinear generalization of the heat equation which is also homogeneous, of degree 1. For large time asymptotics, its links with the optimal Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality have recently been investigated. Here we focus on the existence and the uniqueness of the solutions to the Cauchy problem and on the regularization properties (hypercontractivity and ultracontractivity) of the equation using the Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality. A large deviation result based on a Hamilton-Jacobi equation and also related to the Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality is then stated.  相似文献
