We study the regularity of harmonic maps from Riemannian manifold into a static Lorentzian manifold. We show that when the domain manifold is two-dimensional, any weakly harmonic map is smooth. We also show that when dimension n of the domain manifold is greater than two, there exists a weakly harmonic map for the Dirichlet problem which is smooth except for a closed set whose (n − 2)-dimensional Hausdorff measure is zero.  相似文献

The article gives a necessary and sufficient condition for a Frobenius manifold to be a CDV-structure. We show that there exists a positive definite CDV-structure on any semi-simple Frobenius manifold. We also compare three natural connections on a CDV-structure and conclude that the underlying Hermitian manifold of a non-trivial CDV-structure is not a K?hler manifold. Finally, we compute the harmonic potential of a harmonic Frobenius manifold.  相似文献

This paper studies the geometric and topological properties of complete open Riemannian manifolds which support a weighted Sobolev or log-Sobolev inequality. We show that the constant in the weighted Sobolev inequality on a complete open Riemannian manifold should be bigger than or equal to the optimal one on the Euclidean space of the same dimension and that a complete open manifold of asymptotically non-negative Ricci curvature supporting a weighted Sobolev inequality must have large volume growth. We also show that a complete manifold of non-negative Ricci curvature on which the log-Sobolev inequality holds is not very far from the Euclidean space.  相似文献

We show that in the case of a Bohr-Sommerfeld Lagrangian embedding into a pseudo-Einstein symplectic manifold, a certain universal 1-cohomology class, analogous to the Maslov class, can be defined. In contrast to the Maslov index, the presented class is directly related to the minimality problem for Lagrangian submanifolds if the ambient pseudo-Einstein manifold admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. We interpret the presented class geometrically as a certain obstruction to the continuation of one-dimensional supercycles from the Lagrangian submanifold to the ambient symplectic manifold.  相似文献

The Ricci flow is an evolution equation in the space of Riemannian metrics.A solution for this equation is a curve on the manifold of Riemannian metrics. On the slit tangent bundle of Finsler manifolds, we introduce a class of metrics and study the relation between Levi-Civita connection, Vaisman connection, vertical foliation, and Reinhart spaces. We show that the Levi-Civita and the Vaisman connections induce the same connections in the structural bundle if and only if the base manifold is Landsbergian. Moreover every foliated Reinhart manifold reduces to a Riemannian manifold.  相似文献

We prove a CR version of the Obata’s result for the first eigenvalue of the sub-Laplacian in the setting of a compact strictly pseudoconvex pseudohermitian manifold which satisfies a Lichnerowicz type condition and has a divergence free pseudohermitian torsion. We show that if the first positive eigenvalue of the sub-Laplacian takes the smallest possible value then, up to a homothety of the pseudohermitian structure, the manifold is the standard Sasakian unit sphere. We also give a version of this theorem using the existence of a function with traceless horizontal Hessian on a complete, with respect to Webster’s metric, pseudohermitian manifold.  相似文献

In the present paper, we consider a five-dimensional Riemannian manifold with an irreducible SO(3)-structure as an example of an abstract statistical manifold. We prove that if a five-dimensional Riemannian manifold with an irreducible SO(3)-structure is a statistical manifold of constant curvature, then the metric of the Riemannian manifold is an Einstein metric. In addition, we show that a five-dimensional Euclidean sphere with an irreducible SO(3)-structure cannot be a conjugate symmetric statistical manifold. Finally, we show some results for a five-dimensional Riemannian manifold with a nearly integrable SO(3)-structure. For example, we prove that the structure tensor of a nearly integrable SO(3)-structure on a five-dimensional Riemannian manifold is a harmonic symmetric tensor and it defines the first integral of third order of the equations of geodesics. Moreover, we consider some topological properties of five-dimensional compact and conformally flat Riemannian manifolds with irreducible SO(3)-structure.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a model described the survival of red blood cells in animal. Its dynamics are studied in terms of local and global Hopf bifurcations. We show that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the positive equilibrium as the delay crosses some critical values. Using the reduced system on the center manifold, we also obtain that the periodic orbits bifurcating from the positive equilibrium are stable in the center manifold, and all Hopf bifurcations are supercritical. Further, particular attention is focused on the continuation of local Hopf bifurcation. We show that global Hopf bifurcations exist after the second critical value of time delay.  相似文献

We study compact complex manifolds bimeromorphic to locally conformally Kähler (LCK) manifolds. This is an analogy of studying a compact complex manifold bimeromorphic to a Kähler manifold. We give a negative answer for a question of Ornea, Verbitsky, Vuletescu by showing that there exists no LCK current on blow ups along a submanifold (dim \(\ge 1\)) of Vaisman manifolds. We show that a compact complex manifold with LCK currents satisfying a certain condition can be modified to an LCK manifold. Based on this fact, we define a compact complex manifold with a modification from an LCK manifold as a locally conformally class C (LC class C) manifold. We give examples of LC class C manifolds that are not LCK manifolds. Finally, we show that all LC class C manifolds are locally conformally balanced manifolds.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the impact of geodesic vector fields (vector fields whose trajectories are geodesics) on the geometry of a Riemannian manifold. Since, Killing vector fields of constant lengths on a Riemannian manifold are geodesic vector fields, leads to the question of finding sufficient conditions for a geodesic vector field to be Killing. In this paper, we show that a lower bound on the Ricci curvature of the Riemannian manifold in the direction of geodesic vector field gives a sufficient condition for the geodesic vector field to be Killing. Also, we use a geodesic vector field on a 3-dimensional complete simply connected Riemannian manifold to find sufficient conditions to be isometric to a 3-sphere. We find a characterization of an Einstein manifold using a Killing vector field. Finally, it has been observed that a major source of geodesic vector fields is provided by solutions of Eikonal equations on a Riemannian manifold and we obtain a characterization of the Euclidean space using an Eikonal equation.  相似文献

We show a geometric rigidity of isometric actions of non-compact (semisimple) Lie groups on Lorentz manifolds. Namely, we show that the manifold has a warped product structure of a Lorentz manifold with constant curvature by a Riemannian manifold.

We give a characterization for a (2, 0)-geodesic affine immersion to an affine space by using its index of relative nullity. Especially, we prove a cylinder theorem for such a hypersurface. We show that all finite-dimensional resolvable generalized manifolds with the piecewise disjoint arc-disk property are codimension one manifold factors. We then show how the piecewise disjoint arc-disk property and other general position properties that detect codimension one manifold factors are related. We introduce lightlike hypersurfaces of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold. We investigate several properties of lightlike hypersurfaces of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold. We prove that there is no radical anti-invariant lightlike hypersurface of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold. In particular, we obtain some results for screen semi-invariant lightlike hypersurfaces of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold. We study compact toric strict locally conformally Kähler manifolds. We show that the Kodaira dimension of the underlying complex manifold is \(-\infty \), and that the only compact complex surfaces admitting toric strict locally conformally Kähler metrics are the diagonal Hopf surfaces. We also show that every toric Vaisman manifold has lcK rank 1 and is isomorphic to the mapping torus of an automorphism of a toric compact Sasakian manifold.  相似文献
