Complexation of Mg2+, Ca2+, Zn2+ and Cu2+ with alizarin, characterized by NMR and theoretical studies (DFT, B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) PCM and NMR GIAO B3LYP/IGLOIII), indicated that the metal ion is attached to two hydroxyl groups in a bidentate mode. The alternative complexation in the bidentate mode, with only one hydroxyl group and a carbonyl oxygen, is less possible as it has a higher energy.  相似文献

Non-empirical calculations of CASSCF energies, electric dipole moments, Einstein coefficients, matrix elements of the operator of spin-orbital interaction between states of different multiplicity in a model complex 6,8[Mn-O2] of C 2v symmetry have been made in 3-21G, 6-31G, 6-31G** basis sets. The crosssections of the potential energy surface (PES) of the ground and excited states were built. It is found that oxygen bonding to manganese is possible when excited atoms of manganese collide with molecular oxygen, singlet oxygen with Mn[6 S 5/2] atoms, or in a close contact O2[X3Σ g ? ] + Mn[6 S 5/2] and is determined by charge transfer states 6,8CTS(Mn+O 2 ? ). Mechanisms of singlet oxygen activation/deactivation are determined by a considerably increased probability of electric dipole transitions b 1Σ g + ?a 1Δg, a 1Δg?X3Σ g ? , b 1Σ g + ?X3Σ g ? induced in oxygen in the collision process.  相似文献

The effect of singlet oxygen on light-harvesting (LH) complexes has been studied for a number of sulfur (S+) and nonsulfur (S) photosynthetic bacteria. The visible/near-IR absorption spectra of the standard LH2 complexes (B800-850) of Allochromatium (Alc.) vinosum (S+), Rhodobacter (Rba.) sphaeroides (S), Rhodoblastus (Rbl.) acidophilus (S), and Rhodopseudomonas (Rps.) palustris (S), two types LH2/LH3 (B800-850 and B800-830) of Thiorhodospira (T.) sibirica (S+), and an unusual LH2 complex (B800-827) of Marichromatium (Mch.) purpuratum (S+) or the LH1 complex from Rhodospirillum (Rsp.) rubrum (S) were measured in aqueous buffer suspensions in the presence of singlet oxygen generated by the illumination of the dye Rose Bengal (RB). The content of carotenoids in the samples was determined using HPLC analysis. The LH2 complex of Alc. vinosum and T. sibirica with a reduced content of carotenoids was obtained from cells grown in the presence of diphenylamine (DPA), and LH complexes were obtained from the carotenoidless mutant of Rba. sphaeroides R26.1 and Rps. rubrum G9. We found that LH2 complexes containing a complete set of carotenoids were quite resistant to the destructive action of singlet oxygen in the case of Rba. sphaeroides and Mch. purpuratum. Complexes of other bacteria were much less stable, which can be judged by a strong irreversible decrease in the bacteriochlorophyll (BChl) absorption bands (at 850 or 830 nm, respectively) for sulfur bacteria and absorption bands (at 850 and 800 nm) for nonsulfur bacteria. Simultaneously, we observe the appearance of the oxidized product 3-acetyl-chlorophyll (AcChl) absorbing near 700 nm. Moreover, a decrease in the amount of carotenoids enhanced the spectral stability to the action of singlet oxygen of the LH2 and LH3 complexes from sulfur bacteria and kept it at the same level as in the control samples for carotenoidless mutants of nonsulfur bacteria. These results are discussed in terms of the current hypothesis on the protective functions of carotenoids in bacterial photosynthesis. We suggest that the ability of carotenoids to quench singlet oxygen (well-established in vitro) is not well realized in photosynthetic bacteria. We compared the oxidation of BChl850 in LH2 complexes of sulfur bacteria under the action of singlet oxygen (in the presence of 50 μM RB) or blue light absorbed by carotenoids. These processes are very similar: {[BChl + (RB or carotenoid) + light] + O2} → AcChl. We speculate that carotenoids are capable of generating singlet oxygen when illuminated. The mechanism of this process is not yet clear.  相似文献

Rate constants for the quenching of singlet oxygen (1O2, 1δg) for a series of piperidines, piperidine-N-oxyl free radicals and some commercially used hindered amine light stabilisers (HALS) have been measured by a laser flash photolysis method. Quenching rate constants are in the order: piperidine-N-oxyl free radicals ≤ secondary piperidines < tertiary piperidines. For some commercial HALS, 1O2 quenching rate constants and the light protective effect towards polypropylene photo-oxidation have been compared. No correlation has been found between the stabilizing action and the quenching efficiency towards 1O2. The data obtained point to little contribution of singlet oxygen to the key steps of polyolefin photo-oxidation.  相似文献

The quenching of singlet molecular oxygen (1O2, 1Δ g ) by Er3+ tetra(4-tert-butyl)phthalocyanine in benzene was studied by the luminescence method. The quenching was demonstrated to be controlled by a physical-chemical mixed mechanism, with donor-acceptor interactions being the main contributor to the physical quenching of 1O2.  相似文献

A series of substituted olefins were tested for their reactivity with singlet oxygen as a singlet oxygen-mediated cleavable linker. Low intensity light of 200 mW/cm2 was irradiated to the solution of an olefin and 5,10,15-triphenyl-20-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-21H,23H-porphyrin under atmospheric condition. Among the tested olefins, 1,2-cis-diphenoxyethylene reacted fast with singlet oxygen, >80% within 15 min yielding a stoichiometric conversion to aldehyde product without any side reactions.  相似文献

We investigated the use of photochemistry to make novel derivatives of pentoxifylline. Under conditions that favour singlet excited states, we obtained 1-allyl-3,7-dimethyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione, (R,R)-(±)-1-{[2-hydroxy-2-methylcyclobutyl]methyl}-3,7-dimethyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione and 1-(5-hydroxyhexyl)-3,7-dimethyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione. Naphthalene or molecular oxygen increases the yields and triplet sensitisers (acetophenone, benzophenone and acetone) decrease the yields. Efficient intramolecular triplet energy transfer from the carbonyl to the xanthine moiety allows the carbonyl moiety to react from a singlet excited state only. In solvents with an α-hydroxyalkyl hydrogen under conditions that favour triplet excited states, we obtained 8-substituted pentoxifylline derivatives: 8-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-3,7-dimethyl-1-(5-oxohexyl)-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione in isopropanol, 8-(1-hydroxymethyl)-3,7-dimethyl-1-(5-oxo-hexyl)-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione in methanol and 8-(1-hydroxyethyl)-3,7-dimethyl-1-(5-oxohexyl)-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione in ethanol. The xanthine moiety reacts from a triplet state via a radical mechanism and yields are considerably improved by the addition of catalytic amounts of di-tert-butyl peroxide.  相似文献

The Schiff-base 2-pyrrole-[N-(o-hydroxyphenyl)aldimine] has been synthesized by the condensation of 2-pyrrolecarboxaldehyde and o-aminophenol. Its reactions with several metal ions have been investigated. The Schiff-base behaved either as a bidentate monoaionic ligand with the pyrrole nitrogen intact and uninvolved in bonding to the metal, or as a tridentate dianion using the pyrrolate deprotonated nitrogen, the azomethine nitrogen and the phenolate oxygen in bonding. Thus complexes of Zn2+, Pb2+, Pd2+ and Pt2+ were synthesized with the ligand as a tridentate dianion; and complexes of Cu2+, Fe3+ and Co3+ were obtained with the Schiff-base behaving as a bidentate monoanion.  相似文献

Tetraphenylporphin-photosensitized oxygenations of furan (19), 2-methylfuran (26), 2-ethylfuran (39), furfurylalcohol (24), 2-acetylfuran (40), 2-methoxyfuran (42), 2,5-dimethylfuran (30), furfural (25) and 5-methylfurfural (41) in non-polar aprotic solvents yield the corresponding monomeric unsaturated secondary ozonides due to a (4+2)-cycloaddition of singlet oxygen to these furans. With the exception of the ozonide derived from 25, the ozonides were isolated and characterized (1H- and 13C-NMR spectra, etc.). In non-polar aprotic solvents, the ozonides derived from 19, 26 and 39 undergo thermal rearrangements to the corresponding cis-diepoxides and epoxylactones. Ozonide 31, derived from 30, however, dimerizes, only above about 60° is a cis-diepoxide formed from either 31 or its dimer. Rose bengal-photosensitized oxygenations of the furans in alcohols (MeOH, EtOH, i-PrOH) also produce the corresponding ozonides as the primary products of (4+2)-cycloadditions of singlet oxygen to these furans. However, reactions of the alcohols with the ozonides are too fast to allow the ozonides to be isolated. Instead, the same products are obtained as are isolated from reactions carried out by dissolving the ozonides in the alcohols. Depending on the structure of the ozonide, three pathways are available to ozonide/alcohol (ROH) interactions:(1) addition of ROH to yield alkoxy hydroperoxides; one out of several possible isomers is formed in a completely stereoselective and regiospecific reaction; (2) elimination of a bridgehead proton by ROH as a base, as observed with the ozonide derived from 19 to give hydroxy butenolide (78) in yields between 20 and 60%, and (3) ROH-attack on a carbonyl side-chain under elimination of the corresponding alkyl ester, as observed with furfural photooxygenation which yielded hydroxy butenolide (78) in high yields (95%). Interaction of ozonide 31 with tert.-butyl alcohol (t-BuOH) yields quantitatively cis-3-oxo-1-butenylacetate (81) by a Baeyer-Villiger-type rearrangement with vinyl group migration Hydrogenbonding between the alcohol and the peroxy group of the ozonides assist the heterolysis of the C—O bonds in the ozonides; the most stabilized cation develops. Front-attack of ROH on this cation explains the stereoselectivity as well as the regiospecificity of the alkoxy hydroperoxide formation; with a bulky alcohol like t-BuOH, ROH-attack on the cation is sterically hindered thus allowing a rearrangement to occur. 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition of p-nitrophenyl azide to ozonide 31 proceeds stereoselectively to one of the isomers 87a/87b. Finally, kinetic results of furan photooxygenation in methanol show the following order of furan-reactivity towards singlet oxygen: 30 > 42 > 26 > 19 > 41 > 25, with absolute rate constants ranging from 1.8 × 108 (with 30) to 8.4 × 1O4 M-1P-1 (with 25).  相似文献

Reduction of one imine function of (5,7,7,12,14,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradeca-4,11-diene)nickel(II) with 1 molar proportion of NaBH4 produces as the major product the tri-amine-mono-imine macrocyclic cation (5,7,7,12,14,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradec-4-ene)nickel(II), Ni(tm)]2+. Pairs of isomeric singlet ground state perchlorate and tetrachlorozincate salts of [Ni(tm)]2+ were prepared and the structures determined for the 1RS,8SR,11SR,12RS (labeled as β) and 1RS,8RS,11RS,12SR (labeled as α) tetrachlorozincate salts. Triplet ground state trans-β-[Ni(tm)(NCS)2] and catena-trans-{β-Ni(tm)-NC-Ni(CN)2-CN-}n·2nH2O have the macrocycle in planar coordination and α-[{Ni(tm)}2(C2O4)](ClO4)2 has the macrocycle folded. With pentane-2,4-dione the compounds [β-Ni(tm)]·[α-Ni(tm)(acac)](ClO4)3 and [Ni(teta)]·[α-Ni(tm)(acac)](ClO4)3 (tetC-meso-5,5,7,12,12,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) with both square-planar and octahedral Ni(II) cations were prepared and the latter was structurally characterized. Isomerisation in solution of metastable α-[Ni(tm)]2+ to stable β-[Ni(tm)]2+ is extremely slow, even in base.  相似文献

The reactivity of singlet oxygen (O2(1Δg)) with edta and its metal complexes with Al3+, Cu2+, Fe3+, and Mn2+ was investigated. The emission of singlet oxygen at 1270 nm in D2O was measured in order to determine the quenching efficiency of edta and edta-metal complexes for different metal/edta ratios. The sum of the rate constant (kr + kq) of the chemical reaction between singlet oxygen and the acceptor (kr) and of the physical quenching of singlet oxygen by the acceptor (kq) was obtained by a Stern-Volmer analysis. Measurements of the oxygen consumption in H2O were used to determine quantum yields of the sensitized photooxidation, and the combined results of these experiments allowed the determination of kr and kq separately. A strong isotope effect was observed between the deuterated and the hydrogenated solvents. This effect was shown to be independent of the analytical procedure used. The isotope effect, as well as the reactivity of edta and its metal complexes, depend markedly on the complexed metal ion.  相似文献

The interactions of 5,10,15-tris(1-methylpyridinium-4-yl)-20-(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrinatozinc(II) Zn[TMPyHP]3+ (2) along with Cu[TMPyHP]3+ (3), Co[TMPyHP]4+ (4), Mn[TMPyHP]4+ (5) and the free base porphyrin H2[TMPyHP]3+ (1) with duplex DNA have been studied by using a combination of absorption, fluorescence titration, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), induced circular dichroism (ICD) spectroscopy, thermal DNA denaturation, viscosity measurements as well as gel electrophoresis experiment. Their binding modes and intrinsic binding constants (Kb) to calf DNA (CT DNA) were comparatively studied and were found significantly influenced by different metals coordinated with the porphyrin plane. Except 3, which has four-coordination structure at the metal, all the metal derivatives showed non-intercalative DNA-binding mode and lower Kb than the free base porphyrin 1, most probably due to the steric hindrance results from the axial ligands of the inserted metals which are five or six-coordination structures. Meanwhile, the insertion of metals into cationic porphyrin greatly removed the self-aggregation of the metal-free porphyrins, and thus fully enhanced the singlet oxygen (1O2) productivities in the DNA photocleavage experiments. Therefore, these metalloporphyrins have comparable DNA cleavage ability with the free base porphyrin.  相似文献

A series of novel, water-soluble benzimidazolium salts with common ‘fluorophorespacerreceptor’ PET design has been synthesized. Despite the common PET scaffold these benzimidazolium salts displayed diverse emission intensities in pure aqueous solutions. The observed emission intensities were found to be influenced by the functionalized alkyl side arms present on the benzimidazolium ring. These benzimidazolium salts were also found to act as selective sensors for Fe3+ ions over other metal ions like Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Ba2+, Al3+, Cr3+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mn2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Ag+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ in pure aqueous media.  相似文献

In order to identify the initiation step in the photodegradation of poly(2,6-butylenenaphthalate)-block-poly(tetramethyleneglycol) (PBN-PTMG), we undertook its photolysis with monochromatic irradiation. We discuss the initiation reaction on the basis of the analytical results for the PBN-PTMG in the presence or absence of 2,2′-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone as a UV absorber, 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone as a UV absorber, β-carotene as a quencher of singlet oxygen or methylene blue as a photosensitiser, respectively.The PBN-PTMG containing 2,2′-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone exhibits better resistance to the incident light of ca. 370 nm corresponding to the absorption of the n, π* transition of the carbonyl group in the PBN block than the PBN-PTMG containing 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone. The PBN-PTMG containing β-carotene shows similar photodegradation tendencies as that of the PBN-PTMG without β-carotene. In contrast, the PBN-PTMG with methylene blue is not degraded by monochromatic radiation in the range λ = 600-690 nm. These facts indicate that singlet oxygen does not participate in the initiation reaction of the photodegradation of the PBN-PTMG. Therefore, we concluded that the photodegradation of the PBN-PTMG is induced through the hydrogen abstraction by carbonyl groups in n, π* excited states.  相似文献

A range of products is reported from the photo-oxidation of cyclopentadiene from photochemically generated singlet oxygen (1O2) using carbon dioxide (CO2) as a solvent and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin (TPFPP) as a CO2-soluble photosensitizer. The endo-peroxide intermediate, generated from the reaction with singlet oxygen, is transformed into one of several different products in good yield depending on the conditions applied and by adding different reactors and reagents downstream of the photo-reactor, allowing the reaction products to be switched in one streamlined process. The addition of a thermal reactor facilitated the rearrangement of the endoperoxide to form Z-4,5-epoxy-2-pentanal. Quenching with thiourea yielded the syn-diol, (1R,3S)-cyclopent-4-ene-1,3-diol. Treatment with acid or base afforded furfuryl alcohol and 4-hydroxy-2-cyclopentenone respectively. High productivities for all products were obtained when compared to traditional batch reactions.  相似文献

Inducing high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) inside tumor cells is a cancer therapy method termed chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Relying on delivery of Fenton reaction promoters such as Fe2+, CDT takes advantage of overproduced ROS in the tumor microenvironment. We developed a peptide-H2S donor conjugate, complexed with Fe2+, termed AAN - PTC – Fe2+ . The AAN tripeptide was specifically cleaved by legumain, an enzyme overexpressed in glioma cells, to release carbonyl sulfide (COS). Hydrolysis of COS by carbonic anhydrase formed H2S, an inhibitor of catalase, an enzyme that detoxifies H2O2. Fe2+ and H2S together increased intracellular ROS levels and decreased viability in C6 glioma cells compared with controls lacking either Fe2+, the AAN sequence, or the ability to generate H2S. AAN - PTC – Fe2+ performed better than temezolimide while exhibiting no cytotoxicity toward H9C2 cardiomyocytes. This study provides an H2S-amplified, enzyme-responsive platform for synergistic cancer treatment.  相似文献

The multiple scattering method with local exchange and muffin-tin potentials is applied to tetrahedral clusters with Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+ and Fe2+ as central ions and oxygen and sulphur as ligands. A series of 1-(2-pyridyl)-3-phenyl-5-arylformazans, which form deeply colored complexes with Zn2+, Cu2+, Co2+, and Ni2+ salts, were obtained by coupling of arenediazonium salts, containing various substituants in the phenyl ring, with benzaldehyde 2-pyridylhydrazone. Superabsorbent materials based on natural products have been synthesized by free radical oxidation of corn starch using a redox system consisting of potassium permanganate and sodium bisulfite. The resulting oxidized starches were characterized by analyzing the variation of carbonyl and carboxyl contents. The swelling ability of these samples has been determined by gravimetric method in water and in saline solutions. The effect of oxidant concentration and bleaching procedure on the water absorption capacity has been studied. The ability to remove heavy metals in water solution has been tested against Cd2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and Zn2+ ions, showing higher percentage of remotion for the unbleached oxidized starches, in particular against nickel ions. Experiments on the interception of reactive intermediates in anodic of water were performed, using p-nitrosodimethylaniline (RNO) as a selective scavenger. At lead dioxide anodes hydroxyl radical OH. and singlet oxygen 1O2 can be found while at platinum anodes singlet oxygen and peroxo compounds, HOO. or H2O2 appear.A mechanism regarding the role of “free” hydroxyl radicals in the formation of ozone at lead dioxide anodes is proposed.  相似文献
