In this paper we consider a convex-composite generalized constraint equation in Banach spaces. Using variational analysis technique, in terms of normal cones and coderivatives, we first establish sufficient conditions for such an equation to be metrically subregular. Under the Robinson qualification, we prove that these conditions are also necessary for the metric subregularity. In particular, some existing results on error bound and metric subregularity are extended to the composite-convexity case from the convexity case.  相似文献

We study notions of independence appropriate for a stability theory of metric abstract elementary classes (for short, MAECs). We build on previous notions used in the discrete case, and adapt definitions to the metric case. In particular, we study notions that behave well under superstability‐like assumptions. Also, under uniqueness of limit models, we study domination, orthogonality and parallelism of Galois types in MAECs.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce certain basic notions concerning infinite dimensional complex manifolds, and prove that the Dolbeault cohomology groups of infinite dimensional projective spaces, with values in finite rank vector bundles, vanish. Some applications of such vanishing theorems are discussed; e.g., we classify vector bundles of finite rank over infinite dimensional projective spaces. Finally, we prove a sharp theorem on solving the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equations on affine spaces.

Gromov introduced several notions of largeness of Riemannian manifolds and proved that they are all equivalent for manifolds of nonnegative sectional curvature. In this paper, we study the equivalence of these notions in the case of nonnegative Ricci curvature and in particular we give an affirmative answer to one of Gromov's open questions.  相似文献

This paper concerns smoothing by infimal convolution for two large classes of functions: convex, proper and lower semicontinous as well as for (the nonconvex class of) convex-composite functions. The smooth approximations are constructed so that they epi-converge (to the underlying nonsmooth function) and fulfill a desirable property with respect to graph convergence of the gradient mappings to the subdifferential of the original function under reasonable assumptions. The close connection between epi-convergence of the smoothing functions and coercivity properties of the smoothing kernel is established.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize the notions of polymorphisms and invariant relations to arbitrary categories. This leads us to a Galois connection that coincides with the classical case from universal algebra if the underlying category is the category of sets, but remains applicable no matter how the category is changed. In analogy to the situation in the classical case, we characterize the Galois closed classes by local closures of clones of operations and local closures of what we will introduce as clones of (generalized) relations. Since the approach is built on purely category-theoretic properties, we will also discuss the dualization of our notions.  相似文献

In this work, we define the notions of ‘impulsive non‐autonomous dynamical systems’ and ‘impulsive cocycle attractors’. Such notions generalize (we will see that not in the most direct way) the notions of autonomous dynamical systems and impulsive global attractors in the current published literature. We also establish conditions to ensure the existence of an impulsive cocycle attractor for a given impulsive non‐autonomous dynamical system, which are analogous to the continuous case. Moreover, we prove the existence of such attractor for a non‐autonomous 2D Navier–Stokes equation with impulses, using energy estimates. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We investigate the extension to Banach-space-valued functions of the classical inequalities due to Paley for the Fourier coefficients with respect to a general orthonormal system Φ. This leads us to introduce the notions of Paley Φ-type and Φ-cotype for a Banach space and some related concepts. We study the relations between these notions of type and cotype and those previously defined. We also analyze how the interpolation spaces inherit these characteristics from the original spaces, and use them to obtain sharp coefficient estimates for functions taking values in Lorentz spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain new theoretical results relating the notions of potential optimality and non-dominance without an assumption that a value function exists. In particular, we investigate a decision problem involving the choice of single or multiple best objects. Our results show that the notions of potential optimality and non-dominance are equivalent in a special case of preferences of the decision maker expressed by partial quasi-orders.  相似文献

We set up a formula for the Fréchet and ε-Fréchet subdifferentials of the difference of two convex functions. We even extend it to the difference of two approximately starshaped functions. As a consequence of this formula, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for local optimality in nonconvex optimization. Our analysis relies on the notion of gap continuity of multivalued maps and involves concepts of independent interest such as the notions of blunt and sharp minimizers and the notion of equi-subdifferentiability.   相似文献

We establish Talagrand's T2-transportation inequalities for infinite dimensional dissipative diffusions with sharp constants, through Galerkin type's approximations and the known results in the finite dimensional case. In this paper, we try to generalize to the case of compact Riemannian orbifolds Q some classical results about the existence of closed geodesics of positive length on compact Riemannian manifolds M. We shall also consider the problem of the existence of infinitely many geometrically distinct closed geodesics.In the classical case the solution of those problems involve the consideration of the homotopy groups of M and the homology properties of the free loop space on M (Morse theory). Those notions have their analogue in the case of orbifolds. The main part of this paper will be to recall those notions and to show how the classical techniques can be adapted to the case of orbifolds.  相似文献

We study the notions of measurable metric and Lipschitz function which were introduced by N. Weaver ([12]), in the framework of Dirichlet spaces. To this respect, we bring some precisions and complements to [15], notably concerning links with the notion of intrinsic metric ([2]). The notions of reachability and controllability generalize to infinite-dimensional systems in two different ways. We show that the strong notions are equivalent to finite-time reachability and controllability. For discrete systems in Hilbert space, we get simple relations generalizing the Kalman conditions. We describe the notions of synchronization and simplification with respect to a given subsemigroup P of a semigroup S in terms of the syntactic semigroup of P. These notions derive from coding theory, which corresponds to the case where P is a free subsemigroup of a free semigroup; we apply the results to give a unified account of several theorems previously published.  相似文献

We employ the method of slices to develop a rudimentary calculus describing the nature of operators T*T (respectively, TT*), where T are Fourier integral operators with one-sided right (respectively, left) singularities; this idea has its roots in the work of Greenleaf and Seeger. Such a result allows us to reduce the L2 regularity problem for operators in n dimensions with one-sided singularities to the L2 regularity problem for operators with two-sided singularities in n − 1 dimensions. As a consequence we deduce almost sharp L2-Sobolev estimates for operators in three-dimensions; an interesting special case is provided by certain restricted X-ray transforms associated to line complexes which are not well curved. We also provide a proof of almost-sharpness by looking at a restricted X-ray transform associated to the line complex generated by the curve t → (t, tk). Appropriate notions of singularity, strong singularity, and type are also developed.  相似文献
