By using the Bogoliubov–de Gennes equation and the Nambu spinor Greens function approach, we have theoretically studied the dc Josephson current and the coupling phase state of superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor (SC/FM/SC) junctions, where the FM is of weak ferromagnetism. From the behavior of the temperature-dependent dc Josephson current (Ic), we confirm that such SC/FM/SC junction may change from 0-phase to π-phase state with increasing the temperature (T), for particular parameters of the thickness and the strength of ferromagnetism of the FM interlayer. We attribute such changement to an extra phase difference between the two SCs. The results are qualitatively consistent with an experiment [Phys. Rev. Lett. 86 (2001) 2427], which shows a sharp cusp structure on the IcT curves of Nb/Cu0.48Ni0.52/Nb junction for specific thickness of the Cu0.48Ni0.52, indicating the junction changes from 0-phase state at high temperatures to π-phase state at low temperatures.  相似文献

The Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation and Nambu spinor Green's function approach are applied to studying the Josephson current in superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor (S/F/S) Josephson junctions in the clean limit. It is found that the critical current exhibits a damped oscillation with the F thickness d, the oscillation period equal to 2πξF with ξF the coherence length of the F. The change of the critical current from positive to negative is determined by factor cosφ with φ=d/ξF as the F-induced phase difference. The exponent decay of the critical current is close related to that of the superconductor order parameter in the F, both of them having the same decay length.  相似文献

The Josephson effect in the superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor (SFS) graphene Josephson junction is studied using the Dirac Bogoliubov-de Gennes (DBdG) formalism. It is shown that the SFS graphene junction drives 0–π transition with the increasing of p=h0L/vF?, which captures the effects of both the exchange field and the length of the junction; the spin-down current is dominant. The 0 state is stable for p 〈 pc (critical value pc ≈ 0.80) and the π state is stable for p 〉 pc, where the free energy minima are at φg=0 and φg=π, respectively. The coexistence of the 0 and π states appears in the vicinity of pc.  相似文献

We develop a theory of the conductance of superconductor/normal metal/superconductor junctions in the case where the superconducting order parameter has d-wave symmetry. At low temperature the conductance is proportional to the square root of the inelastic electron relaxation time in the bulk of the superconductor. As a result it turns out to be much larger than the conductance of the normal part of the junction.  相似文献

When two superconductors are connected by a weak link a supercurrent flows determined by the difference in the macroscopic quantum phases of the superconductors. Originally, this phenomenon was discovered by Josephson for the case of a weak link formed by a thin tunnel barrier. The supercurrent I is related to the phase difference ϕ through the Josephson current–phase relation, I = Icsin ϕ, with Ic, the critical current, depending on the properties of the weak link. A similar relation holds for weak links consisting of a normal metal, a semiconductor or a constriction . In all cases, the phase differenceϕ =  0 when no supercurrent flows through the junction, and ϕ increases monotonically with increasing supercurrent until the critical current is reached. Using nanolithography techniques we have succeeded in making and studying a Josephson junction with a normal metal weak link, in which we have direct access to the microscopic current-carrying states inside the link. We find that the fundamental Josephson relation can be changed fromI = Icsin ϕ toI = Icsin(ϕ + π), i.e. to a π -junction, by suitably controlling the energy distribution of the current-carrying states in the normal metal. This fundamental change in the way these Josephson junctions behave has potential implications for their use in superconducting electronics as well as (quantum) logic circuits based on superconductors.  相似文献

This paper solves a self-consistent equation for the d-wave superconducting gap and the effective exchange field in the mean-field approximation, and studies the Zeeman effects on the d-wave superconducting gap and thermodynamic potential. The Josephson currents in the d-wave superconductor(S)/insulating layer(I)/d-wave S junctions are calculated as a function of the temperature, exchange field, and insulating barrier strength under a Zeeman magnetic field on the two d-wave Ss. It is found that the Josephson critical currents in d-wave S/d-wave S junction to a great extent depend on the relative orientation of the effective exchange field of the two S electrodes, and the crystal orientation of the d-wave S. The exchange field under certain conditions can enhance the Josephson critical current in a d-wave S/I/d-wave S junction.  相似文献

The functional dependence of the critical current density on magnetic field, Jc(H), observed at fixed temperatures in the unconventional type-II superconductor, LaAg1−cMnc (c=0.1,0.2,0.3) alloys, but not the relative magnitude of Jc in different alloy compositions at any given temperature and field, is adequately described by the exponential-decay critical state model. In accordance with the predictions of the Kramer's flux-pinning model, the peak value of the pinning force density with the exponent 1.7?m?2.8 and scales with h=H/Hc2, where Hc2 is the upper critical field. Irrespective of sample composition and temperature in the superconducting state, the pinning of the flux line lattice (FLL) dominates over the plastic FLL shear.  相似文献

This paper theoretically studies Josephson spin current through triplet superconductor/ferromagnet/triplet superconductor junctions. At the ferromagnet/superconductor interfaces, the ferromagnetic scattering potential gives rise to coupling between the Andreev bound states and lifts their spin degeneracy. These spin-split Andreev states carry the Josephson spin current through the junctions. The generated spin supercurrent can be controlled by the magnetization of a ferromagnetic thin layer and bias voltage across the junctions.  相似文献

We present a general theory of the proximity effect in junctions between diffusive normal metals (DN) and superconductors. Various possible symmetry classes in a superconductor are considered: even-frequency spin-singlet even-parity (ESE) state, even-frequency spin-triplet odd-parity state, odd-frequency spin-triplet even-parity (OTE) state and odd-frequency spin-singlet odd-parity state. It is shown that the pair amplitude in a DN belongs, respectively, to an ESE, OTE, OTE, and ESE pairing state since only the even-parity s-wave pairing is possible due to the impurity scattering.  相似文献

Within a scattering framework, a theoretical study is presented for the spin-polarized quasiparticle transport in ferromagnet/d-wave superconductor junctions. We find that the subgap conductance behavior is qualitatively different from a nonmagnetic junction, and can also be significantly different from those of a ferromagnet/s-wave junction. For a ballistic ferromagnet/d-wave superconductor junction, under appropriate conditions, a zero-bias conductance minimum could be achieved. In addition, a conductance maximum at finite bias could be evolved by interfacial scattering. For a normal-metal/ferromagnet/d-wave superconductor junction, conductance resonances are predicted.  相似文献

In this paper, we review a large set of experimental data acquired over the past decade by several groups, and demonstrate how it can be used to construct a detailed picture of the low-temperature metallic state of the unconventional superconductor Sr2RuO4. We show how the normal state properties can be consistently and quantitatively explained in terms of Landau quasi-particles moving on a quasi-two-dimensional Fermi surface. Besides presenting our full and extensive data sets, we explain the details of some novel data analysis tools that can be used within the general context of quasi-two-dimensional metals. We then use the experimental Fermi surface and band dispersion to reassess several issues relevant to the unconventional superconductivity in Sr2RuO4, such as the spin-fluctuation spectrum, quasi-particle renormalization, interlayer dispersion and pressure dependence.  相似文献

The spin-precession-induced current through ferromagnet/nanomagnet/superconductorjunctions is investigated by using the nonequilibrium Green’s function method. It is foundthat the charge current I c for the spinprecession frequency ω less than the energy gap Δ onlyarises from the equal-spin Andreev reflection, which is independent of the spinpolarization p of the ferromagnetic lead, while that forω > Δ mainly originates from the quasiparticle’scontribution. Both equal-spin AR and quasiparticle scattering processes contribute to thespin current I s and the quasiparticlescattering process plays a dominant role. WhileI c forω < Δ can be enhanced by the spin polarizationp, I s decreases withp. These features may be of interest for ongoing experiments in thefield of molecular spintronics.  相似文献

Using a general expression for dc Josephson current, we study the Josephson effect in ballistic superconductor (SC)/ferromagnetic semiconductor (FS)/SC junctions, in which the mismatches of the effective mass and Fermi velocity between the FS and SC, spin polarization P in the FS, as well as strengths of potential scattering Z at the interfaces are included. It is shown that in the coherent regime, the oscillatory dependences of the maximum Josephson current on the FS layer thickness L and Josephson current on the macroscopic phase difference φ for the heavy and light holes, resulting from the spin splitting energy gained or lost by a quasiparticle Andreev-reflected at the FS/SC interface, are much different due to the different mismatches in the effective mass and Fermi velocity between the FS and the SC, which is related to the crossovers between positive (0) and negative (π) couplings or equivalently 0 and π junctions. Also, we find that, for the same reason, Z and P are required not to surpass different critical values for the Josephson currents of the heavy and light holes. Furthermore, it is found that, for the dependence of the Josephson current on φ, regardless of how L,Z, and P change, the Josephson junctions do not transit between 0 and π junctions for the light hole.  相似文献

An extended Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk approach is applied to study how the tunneling conductance in ferromagnetic semiconductor/s-wave superconductor (FS/SC) junction, where the FS region is a quantum wire, is manipulated by the mismatches of the effective mass between the FS and SC, spin polarization in the FS, as well as the strength of potential scattering at the interface. It is demonstrated that in the single-mode case they have different influences on the tunneling spectra.  相似文献
