For a nontrivial connected graph F, the F-degree of a vertex in a graph G is the number of copies of F in G containing . A graph G is F-continuous (or F-degree continuous) if the F-degrees of every two adjacent vertices of G differ by at most 1. All P3-continuous graphs are determined. It is observed that if G is a nontrivial connected graph that is F-continuous for all nontrivial connected graphs F, then either G is regular or G is a path. In the case of a 2-connected graph F, however, there always exists a regular graph that is not F-continuous. It is also shown that for every graph H and every 2-connected graph F, there exists an F-continuous graph G containing H as an induced subgraph. 相似文献

The primary aim of the present article is to provide a general framework for investigating the joint distribution of run length
accumulating/enumerating variables by the aid of a Markov chain embedding technique. To achieve that we introduce first a
class of bivariate discrete random variables whose joint distribution can be described by the aid of a Markov chain and develop
formulae for their joint probability mass function, generating functions and moments. The results are then exploited for the
derivation of the distribution of a bivariate run-related statistic. Finally, some interesting uses of our results in reliability
theory and educational psychology are highlighted.

In the present paper, we introduce the concept of G-pre-invex functions with respect to η defined on an invex set with respect to η. These function unify the concepts of nondifferentiable convexity, pre-invexity and r-pre-invexity. Furthermore, relationships of G-pre-invex functions to various introduced earlier pre-invexity concepts are also discussed. Some (geometric) properties of this class of functions are also derived. We study the maximal and fractional maximal functions and Riesz potentials that are generated by the generalized shift operator associated with the Laplace-Bessel operator. We obtain some pointwise and integral estimates that give a relation between the B-maximal and B-fractional maximal functions and B-Riesz potentials and extend the available results to the objects of a more general nature. This paper proposes statistical procedures to check if a real-valued covariate X has an effect on a functional response Y(t). A non-parametric kernel regression is considered to estimate the influence of X on Y(t) and two test statistics based on residual sums of squares and smoothing residuals are proposed. Their acceptance levels
are determined by means of permutations. The lack-of-fit test for a class of parametric models is then discussed as a consequence
of the no effect procedure. Monte Carlo simulations provide an insight into the level and the power of the no effect tests.
