由节点开关单元按照一定的连接规则所构成的光互连网络,在全光通信和光信息处理中具有重要的应用。基于节点开关一般实现光信号的直通和交换功能的特点,利用成熟的偏振光控制技术,通过位相型空间光调制器对信号光偏振态的控制,完成信号的路由和开关动作,从而设计出具有直通、交换、上播和下播功能的节点交换开关。与传统设计思想相比,该方法不仅能够充分利用信号光的能量,有效的减少光能量的损耗,而且还具有与偏振无关等特点。该四功能交换开关,对于优化和拓展光互连网络的结构和功能具有一定的意义。 相似文献

利用传统成熟的偏振控制技术,设计了一种由偏振光分束器、相位型空间光调制器、反射镜和四分之一波片构成的3×3光开关。该光开关具有结构紧凑规整、功能的实现与信号光的偏振态无关以及可以完成双向交换等特点。根据其路由控制表对该3×3光开关交换模块功能的实现进行了分析,结果表明,通过对各相位型空间光调制器状态的调整,控制通过其信号光的偏振态,完成信号光的路由,该交换模块可以完成输入信号光的全排列无阻塞输出与交换。同时,该交换模块具有一定的扩容和重构能力,对于构建大规模的交换矩阵具有一定的作用。 相似文献

光开关是全光通信网络中的一种重要的光无源器件。提出了一种4×4自由空间光开关的结构设计方法,并进行了矩阵理论分析。该4×4光开关具有新颖的光模块化结构,该光开关结构仅由偏振分束组合棱镜,λ/4波片,λ/2波片,直角棱镜,全反镜和偏振光调制器组成,对光开关的控制与输入光束的偏振态无关。所有的输出端口可以和输入端口无阻塞地互连交换。这种新型的光开关结构具有光学元件少,结构紧凑,模块化,与偏振无关的特点。基于4×4光开关的矩阵分析得到了路由控制表,为4×4光开关从任意输人端口到任意输出端口的路由控制状态提供了理论分析手段,从而可以方便地实现无阻塞地光交换开关矩阵的路由控制功能。 相似文献

The expected traffic growth from new broadband services will require network capacities that can be beneficially provided by optical WDM transport networks. Optical packet techniques are essential for large networks to provide flexibility and granularity. A layered network architecture with a transparent optical layer and optical packet layers has been elaborated. Four switching concept options for large optical ATM switch fabrics in the public network and small access nodes are presented. Omega network plays an important role in all optical communication and optical interconnection networks. In this paper, a novel technology, which binary optics element (micro-blazed grating array) can realize perfect shuffle transform including inverse perfect shuffle and left perfect shuffle, is proposed. Moreover, by a cascade of inverse perfect shuffle and left perfect shuffle, a multistage rearrangeable nonblocking omega network can be constructed. Simultaneously, the bipartition graph algorithm (BGA) is adopted to ascertain the state of node switch in each node stage (straight or crossover connection). At last, a module of the rearrangeable nonblocking omega network which is integrated with polarizing beam-splitter, half-wave plate, micro-blazed grating array, is presented. It can accomplish the functions of 8-channel signal beams’ sorting and switching without routing conflict and blocking, and has advantages of being compact in structure, easy to integrate, efficient in performance etc. Finally, both the theoretical analysis and the experimental result show that this module proposed here may be helpful in free-space optical interconnection network and optical information processing. 相似文献

In this paper a 32×32 optical wavelength switching network using the multi-channel and multi-wavelength spectrum-sliced light source is presented where the 2×2 optical-switching elements are utilized in dilated Benes and modified dilated Benes configurations, respectively. The system performances in bit-error rate, especially for the effects of intraband crosstalk, are analyzed in details for the two type networks. Through the simulation studies, the dilated Benes shows better performances than the modified dilated Benes configuration. 相似文献

We review recent progress on all‐optical virtual‐private‐network (VPN) schemes in passive optical networks (PONs). PON is a promising candidate in future access areas to provide broadband services with low cost. With all‐optical virtual private network (VPN) function, PON can support efficient internetworking among end users with dedicated optical channels, thus enabling guaranteed bandwidth and enhanced security at the physical layer. Here, we discuss and compare existing schemes of all‐optical VPNs in time‐division‐multiplexed (TDM) PONs, and also recently proposed schemes for deployment in wavelength‐division‐multiplexed (WDM) PONs and two‐stage TDM/WDM PONs. 相似文献

A flexible integration of optical switch with optical power splitting and attenuating functions has been proposed to optimally serve optical fiber-based networking applications. In this switch, an etched binary-slope sidewall reflector is electrostatically actuated in and out of the plane to manipulate optical signals between input and output optical fibers. The fabrication process is a simple combination of a bulk-silicon micromachining process and silicon-to-glass anodic bonding where fiber alignment grooves, reflectors and actuators are fabricated on the same silicon substrate. Ball-lensed fibers are assembled with the device to achieve high coupling efficiency. Performances of the fabricated devices are measured and discussed. The switching time is less than 9 ms at 31 V. The excess loss of the device is less than 3 dB and the controllable attenuation range is up to 38 dB at 139 V, respectively. Moreover, polarization-dependent loss is less than 0.7 dB in the whole attenuation and splitting range. 相似文献
