High-power diode-pumped picosecond Nd(3+):YVO(4) laser   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A diode-pumped Nd(3+):YVO(4) laser passively mode locked by a nonlinear mirror based on second-harmonic generation has been developed. Pumping with a fiber-coupled 10-W diode array, we generated nearly diffraction limited, linearly polarized 11-ps pulses at 1064nm, with average power of 2.7 W at a 150-MHz repetition rate. Pulses as short as 7.9 ps were measured with reduced output power (1.35 W) by optimal focusing in the nonlinear crystal.  相似文献

Using a 2.3 mm thick KBe(2)BO(3)F(2) crystal optically contacted with CaF(2) in a prism-coupled device, we have obtained an average output power of as much as 360 mW at 200 nm. Long-term stability was verified above a 150 mW level at 200 nm. An output power of 50 mW was also obtained with a narrow spectral width of 0.007 pm at 193.5 nm.  相似文献

We report, for the first time to our knowledge, a diode-pumped cw and passively Q-switched microchip Er, Yb:YAl(3)(BO(3))(4) laser. A maximal output power of 800 mW at 1602 nm in the cw regime was obtained at an absorbed pump power of 7.7 W. By using Co(2+):MgAl(2)O(4) as a saturable absorber, a TEM(00)-mode Q-switched average output power of 315 mW was demonstrated at 1522 nm, with pulse duration of 5 ns and pulse energy of 5.25 μJ at a repetition rate of 60 kHz.  相似文献

Diode-pumped femtosecond Yb:KGd(WO(4))(2) laser with 1.1-W average power   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We demonstrate what is to our knowledge the first mode-locked Yb:KGd(WO(4))(2) laser. Using a semiconductor saturable-absorber mirror for passive mode locking, we obtain pulses of 176-fs duration with an average power of 1.1 W and a peak power of 64 kW at a center wavelength of 1037 nm. We achieve pulses as short as 112 fs at a lower output power. The laser is based on a standard delta cavity and pumped by two high-brightness laser diodes, making the whole system very simple and compact. Tuning the laser by means of a knife-edge results in mode-locked pulses within a wavelength range from 1032 to 1054 nm. In cw operation, we achieve output powers as high as 1.3 W.  相似文献

We report passive mode-locking experiments with a novel self-doubling laser crystal Yb:YAl(3)(BO(3))(4) (Yb:YAB). The diode-pumped laser was mode locked by an ion-implanted semiconductor saturable absorber mirror. Far off phase matching, soliton mode locking produced pulse widths of 198 fs to 1.4 ps, with up to 660-mW output and optical efficiency of 24% at 1040 nm. The shortest pulses had a peak power of 28 kW with 440-mW average power and 16% efficiency. A few degrees off phase matching, a total of 60 mW of green femtosecond pulses was generated simultaneously. Close to phase matching, the laser produced picosecond pulses and, without infrared output, a total of 270 mW of green output, corresponding to 10% conversion efficiency (absorbed pump to green output).  相似文献

A diode-pumped Tm-doped double-clad fiber-optic amplifier is reported that provides up to 5 kW of peak power at pulse durations of 30 ns and a repetition rate of 33.5 kHz. When the repetition rate is increased to 123.6 kHz, the peak power drops to 1.5 kW, while the average output power of the amplifier stays at 6.5 W with a slope efficiency of 34.9%. As an amplifier the fiber can be saturated by a very low average launched input power of only 36 mW at 1.87 microm and yields the same average output power as in a fiber laser or amplified spontaneous emission source setup for all the repetition rates investigated. The peak powers reported are to the author's knowledge the highest generated by Tm-doped fiber lasers or amplifiers at repetition rates above 1 kHz with simultaneously short pulse durations of 30 ns.  相似文献

A comparative study on the temporal behaviour of the average output power of UV Cu+ laser with quartz and ceramic inserts is reported. Spectral investigations of the discharge are also made. The use of quartz inserts leads to some impurities introduction into the gas mixture and to an average output power reduction from 500 to 30 mW at multiline output (248.6, 252.9, 260.0 and 270.3 nm) for UV lasing of 25 h. The utilization of ceramic inserts allows to maintain relatively constant gas mixture composition and average output power of about 300 mW for 100-h.  相似文献

We obtained 74-kW peak power and 3.5-W average output power in 1-ps pulses from a diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser at 1030 nm that was passively mode locked with a semiconductor saturable-absorber mirror. Another laser produced 57-kW peak power and as much as 8.1-W average output power in 2.2-ps pulses, split into two nearly diffraction-limited beams (M(2)<1.2) . To our knowledge, these are by far the highest reported peak and average output powers from a diode-pumped mode-locked laser in this pulse-duration regime.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power UV 278 nm laser by fourth-harmonic generation (FHG) of a 1112 nm Nd:YAG laser in a nonlinear optical (NLO) crystal CsB3O5 (CBO) for the first time, to our best knowledge. A 30 W level diode-pumped Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 1112 nm with beam quality factor M2=1.2 was used as the fundamental light source at a pulse width of 500 ns. With an LiB3O5 crystal, the 1112 nm laser was first frequency-doubled to 556 nm with an average output power of 13.5 W. It was then frequency doubled again in a CBO crystal to obtain the FHG output at 278 nm. The maximum average output power of the 278 nm laser is up to 1.5 W. The results demonstrated that CBO crystal is a promising NLO material for UV high-power lasers below 300 nm.  相似文献

 以TEA CO2激光器通常采用的平-凹光学稳定腔为基础,提出了一种新的波长选支方法——输出窗口镀膜选支方法。利用一台高平均功率TEA CO2激光器进行了选支实验研究,结合现有光学镀膜技术,得到了中心波长为9.3 μm的激光单谱线输出,其单脉冲能量及平均功率与激光器原中心波长10.6 μm单谱线输出的相应参数基本相当。研究发现,以相同单脉冲能量激光照射热敏纸时,中心波长9.3 μm激光光斑与中心波长10.6 μm的明显不同。同时,还设计出两波长窗口密闭免调切换装置,在一台激光器上实现了10.6,9.3 μm两个中心波长激光同等功率水平的免调切换输出,切换位置误差小于5″,密封性能满足使用要求。  相似文献

A high-repetition-rate eye-safe optical parametric oscillator(OPO),using a non-critically phase-matched KTP crystal intracavity pumped by a passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/Cr4 :YAG laser,is experimentally demonstrated.The conversion efficiency for the average power is 7% from pump diode input to OPO signal output and the slope efficiency is up to 10.3%.With an incident pump power of 7.3 W.the compact intracavity OPO(IOPO)cavity,operating at 15 kHz,produces an average power of 0.57 W at 1570 nm with a pulse width as short as 6 ns.The peak power at 1570 nm is higher than 6.3 kW.  相似文献

A high-power diode-pumped passively mode-locked Yb:YAG ceramic laser was demonstrated. An average output power of 3.80W with a pulse duration of 433 fs at a repetition rate of 90.9MHz was obtained at a wavelength of 1050 nm using a 2% output coupler. A peak power of 96.5kW was also obtained. To the best of our knowledge, these are the highest reported average power and peak power for a diode-pumped mode-locked Yb:YAG ceramic laser.  相似文献

用KTP晶体对激光二极管端面泵浦的Nd:YAG晶体;Cr:YAG被动调Q产生的1064nm脉冲激光器进行腔外倍频,用BBO晶体四倍频产生266 nm紫外激光.用15 W的LD阵列;当LD泵浦功率为12 W的情况下;红外(1064 μm)调Q平均输出功率为2.2 W;脉冲序列周期为40 μs;脉宽为18ns;峰值功率高达4.9kW.采用KTP腔外二倍频;532nm的绿光输出平均功率为850mW;用BBO腔外四倍频;266nm的紫外光输出平均功率高达215mW,绿光-紫外光光转换效率为25.2%, 红外到紫外总的转换效率为9.8%.  相似文献

We report a high conversion efficiency Q-switched Nd:YVO_4/KTiOAsO_4(KTA) intracavity optical parametric oscillator(IOPO) operating near 3.5 um based on direct 880 nm laser diode(LD) pumping. A maximum average idler output power of 2.6 W with a pulse width of about 7.9 ns is achieved under an absorbed LD power of 45.4 W at a pulse repetition rate(PRR) of 10 kHz. The maximum optical-optical conversion efficiency from LD power to OPO mid-infrared(MIR) output of 6.74% is achieved. To our knowledge, this is the highest conversion efficiency for a KTA-IOPO by exploiting a Q-switched laser as the parent fundamental pump source. The beam quality factors M~2 of the MIR beam at the full output power with a PRR of 10 kHz are within 2.12 in both the horizontal and vertical directions, indicating a near Gaussian mode.  相似文献

Efficient cw and passively Q-switched operation with self-stimulated Raman scattering conversion was demonstrated in a compact diode-pumped Yb:KLu(WO4)2 laser. A cw output power of 3.28 W was obtained with an optical efficiency of 48.2% and a slope efficiency of 78.2% with respect to the incident pump power. Stable Q-switched operation was achieved with a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber, generating 32.4 microJ fundamental pulses with a duration of 1.41 ns at 1030.6 nm and 14.4 microJ Raman pulses with a duration of 0.71 ns at 1137.6 nm. At an incident pump power of 7.0 W, the average output power reached 0.9 and 0.4 W for fundamental and Raman radiation, with slope efficiencies of 32.1% and 14.1%, respectively.  相似文献

Greater than 2 W of average power was generated in the infrared region by a AgGaS(2) optical parametric oscillator (OPO). A Q -switched mode-locked laser was used to pump the OPO synchronously. Tunability from 1.4 to 1.9mum and a maximum output power of 750 mW at 1.44mum were achieved with a standing-wave cavity. Redesigning the cavity into a ring configuration allowed the depleted pump, signal, and idler beams to be extracted efficiently through separate mirrors. This design generated signal and idler beams of high spatial quality at respective power levels of 1.5 and 620 mW at a pulse repetition rate of 2 kHz.  相似文献

报道了采用大功率半导体激光器端面泵浦Nd∶GdVO4晶体,利用GaAs晶片兼作饱和吸收被动调Q元件和输出耦合镜,实现了1.06 μm激光的被动调Q运转.在泵浦功率为13.9 W时,获得最高平均输出功率为3.6 W,脉冲宽度为252 ns,单脉冲能量为27 μJ以及峰值功率为107 W的激光脉冲.  相似文献
