RF trapping and acceleration in CSNS/RCS   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
In this paper, two injection scenarios with different chopping rate are discussed. The waveforms of the RF voltage are studied and optimized, respectively. Some suggestions are made, concerning chopping and momentum painting of the injected beam. Furthermore, the momentum spread and transverse tune shift are calculated so that the beam aperture and the beam loss can be estimated. Finally, the beam loss with magnet field error is analyzed.  相似文献

China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is a high power proton accelerator-based facility. Uncontrolled beam loss is a major concern in designing the CSNS to control the radioactivation level. For the Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) of the CSNS, the repetition frequency is too high for the longitudinal motion to be fully adiabatic. Significant beam loss happens during the RF capture and initial acceleration of the injection period. To reduce the longitudinal beam loss, beam chopping and momentum offset painting methods are used in the RCS injection. This paper presents detailed studies on the longitudinal motion in the RCS by using the ORBIT simulations, which include different beam chopping factors, momentum offsets and RF voltage optimization. With a trade-off between the longitudinal beam loss and transverse incoherent tune shift that will also result in beam losses, optimized longitudinal painting schemes are obtained.  相似文献

介绍了中国散裂中子源/快循环质子同步加速器一期工程(CSNS-Ⅰ/RCS)拟采用的双谐波加速方案。针对该方案需要在加速周期内对8个射频腔之一进行工作模式切换的特殊要求,对设计实现的基于现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)技术的数字化低电平控制系统采取了一系列优化措施,包括模式切换时段控制回路的开环、功率源两级调谐回路的错时闭环等。在射频系统样机平台开展的模拟实验表明该低电平控制系统动态性能良好,双谐波方案可行性得到了一定程度的验证。  相似文献

A prototype RF power source has been built to supply high RF power to a ferrite-loaded cavity, which is a part of R&D of the Rapid Cycling Synchrotron of China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS/RCS). A direct fast RF feedback amplifier, a 4:1 impedance transformer and auto tuning grid were locally located to compensate the heavy beam loading of CSNS/RCS. 中国散裂中子源(CSNS)的快循环同步加速器(RCS)是一台强流质子加速器,其束流平均功率达到100 kW。在此强流加速器中,真空部件的阻抗是引起束流不稳定的主要原因,它严重限制了束流强度及品质。对CSNS/RCS设计中的各种真空部件阻抗进行了详细计算,并以计算结果为出发点,理论分析了各种不稳定性强弱,确定了各种不稳定性发生的阻抗阈值,为真空部件结构设计提供了参考。对比较严重的电阻壁阻抗,采用阻抗壁尾场模型进行跟踪模拟,得到不稳定性增长率与理论计算值符合较好。自然色品有助于束流稳定,加入自然色品后模拟,电阻壁不稳定性消失。  相似文献

为满足强流加速器对准直器高散热性能、高抗辐射性能、超高真空、高定位精度、高稳定性和在线实时调整等特殊要求,在CSNS/RCS主准直器设计时针对结构方案和控制方案进行了详细设计和研究,针对关键部件:刮束器、真空盒、驱动装置和远程快速拆卸装置等设计难点进行了阐述,在设计中使用ANSYS完成了刮束器的热分析及支架强度和变形校核,用FLUKA程序对辐射屏蔽进行了分析和设计,确保主准直器设计的可靠性。  相似文献

The Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) is a key component of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). The space charge effect is one of the most important issues in the CSNS/RCS, which limits the maximum beam intensity, as well as the maximum beam power. Space charge effects are the main source of emittance growth and beam loss in the RCS. Space charge effects have been studied by simulation for the CSNS/RCS. By optimizing the painting orbit, the optimized painting distribution was obtained. The space charge effects during the acceleration are studied and dangerous resonances, which may induce emittance growth and beam loss, are investigated. The results are an important reference for the design and commissioning of the CSNS/RCS.  相似文献

设计了中国散裂中子源(CSNS)快循环同步加速器(RCS)注入区的主剥离膜装置。为降低研制难度和成本,提高运行可靠性,选择了回转体式的结构。根据在线可调性、高稳定性、高定位精度和超高真空等技术难点,给出了CSNS/RCS主剥离膜的具体结构方案和控制方案。利用ANSYS有限元分析软件和材料力学原理,对设备的核心部件不锈钢同步带进行了模拟计算和理论分析。  相似文献

作为CSNS/RCS横向束流准直系统的关键部件,次级准直器用于吸收经主准直器散射后不在预定轨道的束晕粒子,其工作原理决定了该设备要求满足强辐射环境下的稳定性、超高真空及高定位精度等要求。基于主准直器的设计及研制经验,对次级准直器结构方案及控制系统进行详细设计。针对关键部件吸收体,结合辐射防护分析结果,考虑水冷降温的方式,设计了控制程序,通过有限元分析软件ANSYS对其进行瞬态热分析,保证吸收体设计的可行性。  相似文献

The China Spallation Neutron Source/Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (CSNS/RCS) accelerates a high-intensity proton beam from 80 MeV to 1.6 GeV. Since the beam current and beam power is high, the beam loading is a severe problem for the stability of the circulating beam in the RCS. To study the beam loading effect in the CSNS/RCS theoretically, the RLC circuit model of the rf cavity, the method of Fast Fourier Transform and the method of Laplace transform have been employed to obtain the impedance of the rf system, the beam spectrum and the beam-induced voltage, respectively. Based on these physical models, the beam dynamics equations have been revised and a beam loading model has been constructed in the simulation code ORIENT. By using the code, the beam loading effect on the rf system of the CSNS/RCS has been investigated. Some simulation results have been obtained and conclusions have been drawn.  相似文献

The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is the first accelerator-based pulsed neutron source in China. Its accelerators are made up of an 80 MeV H linac, a Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) and two beam transport lines. RCS accumulates and accelerates protons to the design energy of 1.6 GeV, and extracts high energy beam to strike the target. The overview of RCS is presented, and the key problems of the physics design are discussed. The two beam transport lines, from linac to RCS and from RCS to the target, are also introduced.

The rapid cycling synchrotron(RCS) is part of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS). The RCS provides 1.6 Ge V protons with a repetition rate of 25 Hz. The RF system in RCS is mainly composed of a ferrite loaded RF cavity, a high power tetrode amplifier, a bias supply of 3300 A and a digital low level RF(LLRF) system based on FPGA. The major challenge of the LLRF system is to solve problems caused by rapid frequency sweeping and the heavy beam loading effect. A total of eight control loops are applied to ensure the normal operation. An effective feedforward scheme is widely used to improve the dynamic performance of the system. The design of the LLRF system and high power integration test results with the prototype RF system are presented.  相似文献
