The 13C n.m.r. spectra of a series of 52 substituted norbornanes, norbornenes, bicyclo[2.2.2]octanes and -octenes have been recorded to examine the stereochemical effects of closely neighboring substituents on the carbon shieldings of these well-defined molecular frameworks. These moderately rigid skeletons permit detailed examination of a variety of orientations of substituents and, in this study, attention has been focused on a series of vicinally substituted systems. The substituents include methyl, hydroxymethyl and carboxylic acid groups for comparison with earlier data for several bicyclic alcohols and hydrocarbons, from which conclusions regarding the conformational preferences of the hydroxyl group may be drawn. The deviations of the observed shieldings from those predicted by simple additivity follow definite patterns which should be useful for stereochemical assignments in related systems.  相似文献

13C n.m.r. chemical shifts and one bond 13C, 1H coupling constants for cyclopropene and its 1- and 3-methyl derivatives as well as for methyl cyclopropane have been measured. The data for cyclopropene are 108·9 ppm and 228·2 Hz, 2·3 ppm and 167·0 Hz in the olefinic and allylic position, respectively. Substituent effects for the methyl group are discussed.  相似文献

13C n.m.r. spectra have been measured for thirty-two polychloroalkenes including (i) monosubstituted compounds CH2?CHCClnH2?nX, where ? X stands for ? H, ? Cl, alkyl, and trisubstituted alkenes CCl2?CHAlk, none of which form geometric isomers; (ii) disubstituted compounds RCH?CHR′; (iii) and (iv) trisubstituted compounds of the types RCCl?CHR′ and CHCl?CClR, respectively. Compounds (ii) to (iv) represent either individual isomers or mixtures of the Z and E forms. In the case of compounds (ii) and (iii), the ordering of chemical shifts is δE > δZ for the sp2-carbon atoms and δE < δz for the adjacent tetrahedral ones. On the contrary, the signals of the sp2-carbon atoms of compounds (iv) obey the rule δE < δz. The effect of vinyl and allyl groups as substituents on the 13C chemical shifts of chlorine-containing groups is discussed. The dependence of the sp2-carbon spin–spin coupling constants J(13C? 1H) on the number of chlorinated substituents in the molecule is also considered.  相似文献

13C n.m.r. chemical shifts and carbon-proton coupling constants of 2-substituted pyrimidines are reported. The carbon chemical shifts are correlated with π-electron densities. Substituents which cause deshielding at the directly bound carbon (e.g. NH2, OCH3 and F) exert a more powerful effect in the benzene series than in the pyridine or pyrimidine series. The carbon-proton coupling constants do not correlate with the electronegativity of the substituents. Carbon-proton coupling constants and proton-proton coupling constants over the same number of bonds do not obey the Karabatsos relationship. The changes in the carbon-proton coupling constants in 2(1H)-pyrimidinone and 2(1H)-pyrimidinethione which accompany anion and cation formation are reported.  相似文献

The 13C n.m.r. spectra of 18 derivatives of the tricyclo[3.2.1.02,4]octanes have been determined. This series includes methyl, hydroxyl and oxo substituted examples to compare the effects of these substituents on the skeletal carbon shieldings with those observed for the corresponding norbornanes and bicyclo[3.2.1]octanes. In general, the trends are similar and the perturbations associated with closely neighboring groups follow a consistent pattern. The shielding data for the exoexo and exoendo isomers of tetracyclo[3.3.1.02,406,8]nonane are also reported.  相似文献

13C n.m.r. spectra of a series of N,N-disubstituted thioamides have been recorded and signal assignments were performed. Separate signals are observed for methylene groups fixed on the nitrogen atom. Since the carbon atom syn to the thiocarbonyl sulfur resonates at higher field than the anti carbon, the syn-anti assignment in 1H n.m.r. is easily obtained by selective double irradiation. This method, which is rapid and reliable, affords a rather general solution to the interesting problem of resonance assignments in tertiary amides and thioamides (and in analogous molecules such as oximes and nitrosamines).  相似文献

Correction of measured chemical shifts by subtracting the diamagnetic contributions caused by certain substituents on various carbons of a molecule leads to data that allow a reasonable interpretation of substituent effects on chemical shifts in 13C n.m.r. spectroscopy. It is shown that both paramagnetic and diamagnetic terms increase on all carbons of a molecule when the atomic number of a substituent increases down the same group of the periodic table. An explanation of α-, β-, and γ- effects for methyl substitution using the same procedure is attempted.  相似文献

The 13C n.m.r. spectra of 11 derivatives of 2,3-dimethylenenorbornane, 1–11, of 5 derivatives of 2,3-dimethylene-7-oxanorbornane, 12–16, and of 2,3,5,6-tetramethylene-7-oxanorbornane (17) have been measured and the chemical shifts have been assigned. The effects of 1-methyl, 5-hydroxy, 5-acetoxy, 5-para-bromobenzenesulphonyloxy and 5-keto substituents on the olefinic carbons of the s-cis-butadiene group are compared with the same substituent effects reported for model compounds. Apparent linear correlations between the reciprocals of the VN transition energies of the butadiene chromophores and the differences of the chemical shifts ΔδC between the quaternary and methylene olefinic carbons are found for the dienes 1–3, 12–14, butadiene and 2,3-dimethylbutadiene. The ΔδC of the olefinic carbons of the tetraene 17 also falls on the correlation line if the average of the two absorption hands at 250 and 228 nm is taken for the VN transition energy of this compound. The chemical shift of the carbon of the methano bridge H2C-7 is almost insensitive to the presence of one or two methylene groups at C-2,3, in contrast with the downfield shift of 10–14 ppm observed when an endocyclic double bond is introduced into the norbornane skeleton.  相似文献

The 13C chemical shifts of several alkyl and phenyl substituted pyrylium perchlorates, together with related pyridine and pyridinium salts, are reported. The shifts in the isoelectronic series benzene, pyridine, pyrylium cation correlate well with charge densities calculated by INDO MO theory. Charge densities also account for the shift changes found at C-3, C-4 and C-5 for protonation of pyridine and 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine. The shift changes observed on protonation for C-2 and C-6, along the series pyridine, 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine and 2,4,6-triphenylpyridine can only be rationalized by consideration of both charge density and π-bond order changes. The effects of alkyl substitution on the shifts of the pyrylium cations are not accounted for by charge density changes. Empirical correlations of these shifts with literature data for the alkylbenzenes and the shifts of the phenyl substituted 6-membered heterocycles are discussed.  相似文献

Proton and carbon magnetic resonance spectra of Lewisite or dichloro(trans-2-chlorovinyl)arsine have been measured and the results are compared with the n.m.r. spectral parameters of other trans-1,2-substituted ethylenes. The coupling constants can be rationalized by substituent electronegativity. The chemical shifts show an unusually large paramagnetic effect from the AsCl2 group.  相似文献

The 13C NMR spectra of trans- and cis-fused bicyclo[4.n.0]alkanes, where n=4, 3 and 2, were determined. The distortion of the six membered ring, which is due to the strain arising from the 1,2 fusion of cyclohexane with a smaller ring, is apparent mainly for the chemical shifts of the ring junction carbons. Both for the trans-and for the cis-fused hydrocarbons the results support a cyclohexane in a chair conformation, distorted to a different degree according to the size of the other ring. The geometries of the different compounds in the series were calculated.  相似文献

Cyclic beta-keto ester monoanions react with 1,4-dihalobutenes to give C-alkylated products which subsequently undergo a stereoselective SN2' O-alkylation reaction to yield functionalized enol ethers. When the starting material was ethyl cyclopentanone carboxylate, the C-alkylated product, treated with a base, directly afforded the functionalized bicyclo[4.2.1]nonanone. The enol ethers were submitted to a flash vacuum thermolysis (FVT) reaction to readily afford functionalized bicyclo[4.n.1]alkanones (n = 3, 4). This reaction sequence was applied to the synthesis of a functionalized tricyclo[7.4.1.0(1,5)]tetradecanone, which represents an analogue to the tricyclic core of ingenol.  相似文献

The literature on 13C n.m.r. examinations of steroids has been reviewed and the shielding data for over 400 examples are tubulated. The assignments for each compound have been considered and, where necessary, revised in the light of more recent evidence and for consistency throughout each series. The methods available for assignments are reviewed and, in many cases, illustrated with specific examples. The major practical features concerning 13C studies of steroids are discussed as a guide to the use of the technique. From the main body of shielding data, an extensive set of substituent effects has been generated to aid the examination of new systems.
