Materials in the transition metal dichalcogenide family, including WS_2, MoS_2, WSe_2, and MoSe_2, etc., have captured a substantial amount of attention due to their remarkable nonlinearities and optoelectronic properties.Compared with WS_2 and MoS_2, the monolayered MoTe_2 owns a smaller direct bandgap of 1.1 eV. It is beneficial for the applications in broadband absorption. In this letter, using the magnetron sputtering technique, MoTe_2 is deposited on the surface of the tapered fiber to be assembled into the saturable absorber. We first implement the MoTe_2-based Q-switched fiber laser operating at the wavelength of 1559 nm. The minimum pulse duration and signal-to-noise ratio are 677 ns and 63 dB, respectively. Moreover, the output power of 25 mW is impressive compared with previous work. We believe that MoTe_2 is a promising 2D material for ultrafast photonic devices in the high-power Q-switched fiber lasers.  相似文献

基于光学沉积方法,制备了石墨烯可饱和吸收体,并利用此可饱和吸收体搭建了环形腔结构的被动调Q掺铒光纤激光器,实现了稳定的调Q激光脉冲输出,其重复频率为5.1~14.2 kHz,最窄激光脉冲宽度为8 s,最大平均功率为162.3 W,且通过调节偏振控制器,中心波长在1556~1558 nm可调。  相似文献

In this paper, a desirably simple, convenient and inexpensive saturable absorber mirror has been fabricated based on graphene, which has no wavelength selectivity. Moreover, there are no changes in the structure and characteristics of graphene. By inserting the graphene-PMMA SA mirror to the Nd: YAG laser, the shortest pulse width of 260 ns can be obtained with the single-pulse energy of about 8.32 μJ. The experimental results prove that our graphene-PMMA SA mirror is feasible and suitable for Q-switched lasers.  相似文献

A simple switchable and tunable dual-wavelength passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber ring laser based on nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) effect is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The NPR effect effectively induces wavelength- and intensity-dependent loss to readily implement stable dual-wavelength passively mode-locked operation. The wavelength switching and tuning of the dual-wavelength ultrashort pulse laser are achieved only by appropriately rotating the polarization controllers. The side-mode suppression ratio of the output pulse is larger than 41 dB over a wavelength-tuning range of 43.4 nm. Moreover, triple-wavelength ultrashort pulse can also be observed.  相似文献

All passively mode locked erbium-doped fiber laser with a zirconium host is demonstrated. The fiber laser utilizes the Non-Linear Polarization Rotation (NPR) technique with an inexpensive fiber-based Polarization Beam Splitter (PBS) as the mode-locking element. A 2 m crystalline Zirconia–Yttria–Alumino-silicate fiber doped with erbium ions (Zr–Y–Al-EDF) acts as the gain medium and generates an Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) spectrum from 1500 nm to 1650 nm. The generated mode-locked pulses have a spectrum ranging from 1548 nm to more than 1605 nm, as well as a 3-dB bandwidth of 12 nm. The mode-locked pulse train has an average output power level of 17 mW with a calculated peak power of 1.24 kW and energy per pulse of approximately 730 pJ. The spectrum also exhibits a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 50 dB as well as a repetition rate of 23.2 MHz. The system is very stable and shows little power fluctuation, in addition to being repeatable.  相似文献

We report, for the first time to our knowledge, a radially polarized and passively Q-switched Yb-doped fiber laser. By using a Cr(4+):YAG crystal as a saturable absorber and a photonic crystal grating as a polarization mirror, a radially polarized pulse is produced, which has 202 W of peak power, 75 ns duration, and ~92% polarization purity at a 56.6 kHz repetition rate. The Q-switched pulse with radial polarization from the fiber laser would facilitate numerous applications.  相似文献

An environmentally stable, repetition rate tunable, all-polarization-maintaining, Er-doped pulse fiber laser with a single-wall carbon nanotubes saturated absorber is demonstrated. The ring laser cavity includes a delay line enabling a tunable repetition rate to vary from 35.52 MHz to 35.64 MHz with continuous mode-locked operation. The laser output parameters confirm that the tunable mode-locked operations are stable. High environmental stability is also confirmed by the -130 dBc/Hz low phase noise, a 70-dB signal-to-noise ratio of radio frequency signals, a low amplitude fluctuation of 5.76 × 10-4, and a low fluctuation of reoetition rate of 12 Hz. The laser shows a high de~ree of oolarization of 93%.  相似文献

A pulsed laser system is realized with graphene employed as a Q-switch.The graphene is exfoliated from its solution using an optical deposition and the optical tweezer effect.A fiber ferrule that already has the graphene deposited on it is inserted into an erbium-ytterbium laser(EYL)system with linear cavity configuration.We successfully demonstrate a pulsed EYL with a pulse duration of approximately 5.9μs and a repetition rate of 20.0 kHz.  相似文献

We report on experimental observations of dual-wavelength solitons in a passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser. Two kinds of dual-wavelength solitons with different spectrum shapes are achieved. One is exhibited to have spectrum sidebands and the other one is shown to have the smooth profile without any sideband. The mode-locking mechanism at different central wavelengths is analyzed. Experimental results suggest that the pump level together with the cavity filtering effect play key roles in the generation of the dual-wavelength solitons.  相似文献

In this linear-cavity passively mode-locked laser based on semiconductor saturable absorber mirror,an Ybdoped fiber is shared by two branch cavities as gain medium.These two cavities can respectively output single-wavelength pulse with the wavelength tuning range of 1 009.7-1 057.6 nm and 1 011.6-1 052.6 nm by adjusting volume Bragg grating.When two cavities output pulses together,the dual-wavelength pulses with the maximum and minimum wavelength separation of 34.8 and 2.4 nm,respectively,are achieved by net gain equalization method to suppress mode competition at room temperature.The maximum pulse energies of dual-wavelength pulses are 0.47 and 0.33 nJ separately;their repetition rates are 11.39 and 11.41 MHz.  相似文献

A passively Q-switched dual-wavelength solid-state laser is presented. The two wavelengths are emitted by two different crystals in order to avoid gain competition, and the synchronization between the pulses is obtained by external triggering of the saturable absorber. Sum frequency mixing is demonstrated, proving the interest of this source for terahertz generation in the 0.3-0.4 THz range through difference frequency generation.  相似文献

提出和验证了一种L波段双波长掺铒光纤激光器(EDFL)双稳态控制变换和双波长开关切换的方法.将偏振控制器(PC)插入基于3 dB光纤耦合器的光纤环镜(FLM)中,并将该FLM用作L波段双波长级联线形耦合腔EDFL的公共腔镜,结果表明,调节PC可以改变FLM的反射率,实现对EDFL双稳态特性的有效控制,且双稳态特性随FLM反射率呈单调变化.利用这一性质,提出并证实,对于处在FLM最大反射率对应的双稳态第一跃变点和最小反射率对应的双稳态第二跃变点之间的任意固定抽运光功率,调节PC可实现两个稳态之间的相互变换和双波长之间的相互切换.  相似文献

Efficient repetitive passive Q switching of a cladding-pumped Er-Yb fiber laser has been demonstrated by use of an external-cavity configuration containing a Co(2+): ZnS crystal as a saturable absorber. Energies of as much as 60muJ in pulses of durations as short as 3.5 ns (FWHM), corresponding to a peak power of >10kW, have been generated, and the maximum slope efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power was 13%. Using a bulk diffraction grating in the Littrow configuration to provide wavelength-selective feedback, we tuned the passively Q -switched fiber laser over 31 nm from 1532 to 1563 nm. The prospects for further improvement in performance are discussed.  相似文献

We have demonstrated that the gold nanorods (GNRs) can be used as effective saturable absorbers for passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL). Two types of GNRs were synthesized by a seed-mediated growth method. The longitudinal surface plasmon resonance wavelengths of the GNRs with different aspect ratios were around 1068 and 1442 nm, respectively. The GNRs were mixed with sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC) to form GNRs-NaCMC films with different absorption wavelengths. Using these GNRs-NaCMC films, 9.6-μs pulses with a repetition rate of ∼22.9 kHz and 10.4-μs pulses with a repetition rate of ∼22.4 kHz were obtained from the passively Q-switched EDFLs at a pump power of ∼120 mW, respectively.  相似文献

We report on the dual-wavelength operation in an erbium-doped fiber ring laser mode-locked through nonlinear polarization rotation technique. In addition to dual-wavelength continuous wave operation, alternative mode-locking at the dual wavelengths was realized experimentally. By analyzing the transmissivity of the laser cavity, we find the dual-wavelength operation is an intrinsic feature of the laser associating with the dispersive cavity loss. Numerical simulations confirm the experimental and theoretical results and further demonstrate that the location of the dual wavelengths and the separation between them closely depend on the cavity birefringence and the profile of the gain medium.  相似文献

报道了基于氧化石墨烯的被动调Q掺铒光纤激光器。激光器采用环形腔结构,调Q器件为自制的氧化石墨烯可饱和吸收镜。泵浦功率在81~505 mW范围内时,得到了重复频率68~124 kHz的稳定的调Q脉冲输出,脉宽为0.47~1.60 s。由于泵浦功率限制,激光器最大输出功率为10 mW, 相应单脉冲能量为80.6 nJ。此种基于氧化石墨烯可饱和吸收体的被动调Q光纤激光器体积小、成本低廉、结构简单、稳定性高、光束质量高,具有广阔的应用前景。  相似文献

We demonstrate that appropriately designed doped multimode fibers provide robust single-mode output when used within a fiber laser cavity. Using a novel large-mode-area fiber, we demonstrate what we believe to be record single-mode (M(2) <1.2) pulse energies of >0.5 mJ from a Q -switched fiber laser and even higher pulse energies (as high as 0.85 mJ) with slightly compromised spatial-mode quality (M(2)<2.0) . This approach offers significant scope for extending the range of single-mode output powers and energies that are achievable from fiber-laser-amplifier systems.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL) based on zincoxide/polydimethylsiloxane(Zn O/PDMS) saturable absorber(SA) that evanescently interacts with the light on a tapered fiber. The Zn O/PDMS composite is coated on the whole surface of the tapered fiber to guarantee the maximum efficiency of the SA device, with a measured insertion loss of 0.87 d B and a modulation depth of 6.4%. The proposed laser can generate soliton mode-locking operation at a threshold power of 33.07 m W. The generated output pulse yields a repetition rate and pulse width of 9.77 MHz and 1.03 ps, respectively. These results indicate that the proposed Zn O/PDMS-clad tapered fiber could be useful as an efficient, compatible, and low-cost SA device for ultrafast laser applications.  相似文献

A broadly tunable dual-wavelength erbium-doped ring fiber laser based on a high-birefringence fiber loop mirror (HiBi-FLM) and a polarization controller is demonstrated experimentally. The measured transmission spectrum of HiBi-FLM covers a wide range from 1525 to 1575 nm. The wavelength of proposed laser can be flexibly tunable during this range of ∼50 nm by adjusting the polarization controller. In addition, the spacing of two wavelengths is adjustable by changing the length of HiBi fiber. The dual-wavelength lasers with the HiBi fiber length of 1 and 2 m are experimentally demonstrated and compared. The experimental results show that the proposed laser can stably operate on two wavelengths simultaneously at room temperature, and the output peak power variation is about 0.5 dB during 40 min.  相似文献
