Changing the morphology of noble metal nanoparticles and polarization dependence of nanoparticles with different morphologies is an important part of further research on surface plasma enhancement. Therefore, we used the method based on Matlab simulation to provide a simple and effective method for preparing the morphologies of Au nanoparticles with different morphologies, and prepared the structure of Au nanoparticles with good uniformity and different morphologies by oblique angle deposition (OAD) technology. The change of the surface morphology of nanoparticles from spherical to square to diamond can be effectively controlled by changing the deposition angle. The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method was used to simulate the electromagnetic fields of Au nanoparticles with different morphologies to explore the polarization dependence of nanoparticles with different shapes, which was in good agreement with Raman spectrum.  相似文献

Four different sized gold nanoparticles (14 nm, 16 nm, 35 nm and 38 nm) were prepared to conjugate an antibody for a gold nanoparticle-based immunochromatographic assay which has many applications in both basic research and clinical diagnosis. This study focuses on the conjugation efficiency of the antibody with different sized gold nanoparticles. The effect of factors such as pH value and concentration of antibody has been quantificationally discussed using spectra methods after adding 1 wt% NaCl which induced gold nanoparticle aggregation. It was found that different sized gold nanoparticles had different conjugation efficiencies under different pH values and concentrations of antibody. Among the four sized gold nanoparticles, the 16 nm gold nanoparticles have the minimum requirement for antibody concentrations to avoid aggregation comparing to other sized gold nanoparticles but are less sensitive for detecting the real sample compared to the 38 nm gold nanoparticles. Consequently, different sized gold nanoparticles should be labeled with antibody under optimal pH value and optimal concentrations of antibody. It will be helpful for the application of antibody-labeled gold nanoparticles in the fields of clinic diagnosis, environmental analysis and so on in future.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology is an emerging field of science. The base of nanotechnology is nanoparticles. The size of nanoparticles ranges from 1 to 100?nm. The nanoparticles are classified into different classes such as inorganic nanoparticles, organic nanoparticles, ceramic nanoparticles and carbon base nanoparticles. The inorganic nanoparticles are further classified into metal nanoparticles and metal oxide nanoparticles.similarly carbon base nanoparticles classified into Fullerene, Carbon nanotubes, Graphene, Carbon nanofiber and carbon black Nanoparticles are also classified on the basis of dimension such as one dimension nanoparticles, two-dimension nanoparticles and three-dimension nanoparticles. The nanoparticles are synthesized by using two approaches like top-down approach and bottom-up approach. In this review chemical, physical and green synthesis of nanoparticles is reported. The synthesized nanoparticles are synthesized using different qualitative and quantitative techniques. The Qualitative techniques include Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-Vis spectrophotometry, Scanning electron microscope (SEM), X.ray diffraction (XRD) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The Quantitative techniques include Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Annular Dark-Field Imaging (HAADF) and Intracranial pressure (ICP). The nanoparticles have different application which is reported in this review.  相似文献

Copper nanoparticles with different structural properties and effective biological effects may be fabricated using new green protocols. The control over particle size and in turn size-dependent properties of copper nanoparticles is expected to provide additional applications. Various methods for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles have been reported including chemical methods, physical methods, biological methods, and green synthesis. Biological methods involve the use of plant extracts, bacteria, and fungi. Commendable work has been done regarding the synthesis and stability of copper nanoparticles. There is a need to summarize the behavior of copper nanoparticles in different media under various conditions. Here, a complete list of the literature on the synthesis of copper nanoparticles, their properties, stabilizing agents, factors affecting the morphology, and their applications is presented. The importance of copper nanoparticles compared to other metal nanoparticles are due to high conductivity. Methods for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles, including green protocols using plants and micro-organisms compared chemical methods, have also been reviewed.  相似文献

Injection of nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) is potentially a promising technology for remediation of contaminated groundwaters. However, the efficiency of this process is significantly hindered by the rapid aggregation of the iron nanoparticles. The aim of this study was to enhance the colloidal stability of the nanoparticles through the addition of the "green" polymer guar gum. We evaluated the properties of guar gum and its influence on the surface properties, particle size, aggregation, and sedimentation of iron nanoparticles. Commercial iron nanoparticles were dispersed in guar gum solutions, and their aggregation and sedimentation behaviors were compared to those of bare iron nanoparticles and commercial nanoparticles modified with a biodegradable polymer (polyaspartate). High performance size exclusion chromatography, charge titration, and viscosity assessment showed that guar gum is a high molecular weight polymer which is nearly neutrally charged, rendering it suitable for steric stabilization of the iron nanoparticles. Electrophoretic mobility measurements demonstrated the ability of guar gum to adsorb on the nanoparticles, forming a slightly negatively charged layer. Dynamic light scattering experiments were conducted to estimate the particle size of the different nanoparticle suspensions and to determine the aggregation behavior at different ionic strengths. Guar gum effectively reduced the hydrodynamic radius of the bare nanoparticles from 500 nm to less than 200 nm and prevented aggregation of the nanoparticles even at very high salt concentrations (0.5 M NaCl and 3 mM CaCl(2)). Sedimentation profiles of the different nanoparticle suspensions confirmed the improved stability of the iron nanoparticles in the presence of guar gum. The results strongly suggest that guar gum can be used to effectively deliver stabilized zero-valent iron nanoparticles for remediation of contaminated groundwater aquifers.  相似文献

The adsorption properties of sensitive films formed by gold nanoparticles, dropped from solutions with different nanoparticles content are investigated using mass-sensitive (QCM) sensors. The dependence of surface adsorption capacity on nanoparticles concentration is shown. The decrease of surface concentration of nanoparticles leads to the increase of sensors sensitivity to different alcohols and water. The adsorption character of water (response amplitude and kinetics) substantially differs form that of alcohols. The sensitivity of gold nanoparticles layers to water is more then one order higher then to alcohols. The kinetics of water adsorption runs in two stages.  相似文献

We report the use of two different sizes of dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles as colloidal substrates for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based detection of ultra-low levels of thiram, a dithiocarbamate fungicide. We demonstrate the ability to use a solution based, direct readout SERS method as a quantitative tool for the detection of ultra-low levels of thiram. The two different sizes of dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles are synthesized by using the seed-mediated growth method and characterized by using UV-visible spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The smaller dogbone shaped nanoparticles have an average size of 43 ± 13 nm. The larger dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles have an average size of 65 ± 15 nm. The nanoparticle concentration is 1.25 × 10(11) nanoparticles per mL for the smaller dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles and is 1.13 × 10(11) nanoparticles per mL for the larger dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles. Different concentrations of thiram are allowed to bind to the two different sizes of dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles and the SERS spectra are obtained. From the calibration curve, the limit of detection for thiram is 43.9 ± 6.2 nM when the smaller dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles are used as colloidal SERS substrates In the case of the larger dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles, the limit of detection for thiram is 11.8 ± 3.2 nM. The lower limit of detection obtained by using the larger dogbone shaped gold nanoparticles as colloidal substrates is due to the lightning rod effect, higher contributions from the electromagnetic enhancement effect, and larger number of surface sites for thiram to bind.  相似文献

In this report we demonstrate a green chemical approach for the synthesis of stable silver nanoparticles in aqueous medium using tyrosine as an efficient photoreducing agent. A narrow size distribution of silver nanoparticles can be achieved by this simple photoirradiation method without using any additional stabilizing agents or surfactants. Two different irradiation sources have been explored resulting in a different particle size distribution pattern in each case. Further, we show that starting from a polydisperse tyrosine synthesized silver nanoparticles sample, it is also possible to fractionate them into different size ranges. The size fractionation was achieved by a 2 stage phase transfer method employing different organic solvents. The nanoparticles synthesized were characterized using UV-vis spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques.  相似文献

The growth behavior of all-silica nanoparticle multilayer thin films assembled via layer-by-layer deposition of oppositely charged SiO2 nanoparticles was studied as a function of assembly conditions. Amine-functionalized SiO2 nanoparticles were assembled into multilayers through the use of three different sizes of negatively charged SiO2 nanoparticles. The assembly pH of the nanoparticle suspensions needed to achieve maximum growth for each system was found to be different. However, the surface charge /z/ of the negatively charged silica nanoparticles at the optimal assembly pH was approximately the same, indicating the importance of this parameter in determining the growth behavior of all-nanoparticle multilayers. When /z/ of the negatively charged nanoparticles lies between 0.6z(0) and 1.2z(0) (where z(0) is the pH-independent value of the zeta-potential of the positively charged nanoparticles used in this study), the multilayers show maximum growth for each system. The effect of particle size on the film structure was also investigated. Although nanoparticle size significantly influenced the average bilayer thickness of the multilayers, the porosity and refractive index of multilayers made from nanoparticles of different sizes varied by a small amount. For example, the porosity of the different multilayer systems ranged from 42 to 49%. This study further demonstrates that one-component all-nanoparticle multilayers can be assembled successfully by depositing nanoparticles of the same material but with opposite surface charge.  相似文献

Extinction coefficients of gold nanoparticles with core size ranging from approximately 4 to 40 nm were determined by high resolution transmission electron microscopy analysis and UV-vis absorption spectroscopic measurement. Three different types of gold nanoparticles were prepared and studied: citrate-stabilized nanoparticles in five different sizes; oleylamide-protected gold nanoparticles with a core diameter of 8 nm, and a decanethiol-protected nanoparticle with a diameter of around 4 nm. A linear relationship between the logarithms of extinction coefficients and core diameters of gold particles was found independent of the capping ligands on the particle surface and the solvents used to dissolve the nanoparticles. This linear relation may be used as a calibration curve to determine the concentration or average size of an unknown nanoparticle or nanoparticle-biomolecule conjugate sample.  相似文献

Nitrogen-doped CeO2 nanoparticles were synthesized through a wet-chemical route. Nitrogen has been successfully incorporated into CeO2 nanoparticles and the nitrogen-doping level was also successfully controlled. The optical properties due to the different N-doping levels in CeO2 nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), which showed a visible-light absorbance shift. The resulting nanoparticles show enhanced visible-light sensitivity and photocatalytic activity compared to undoped CeO2 nanoparticles. DFT calculations were performed to explore the effect of nitrogen doping versus oxygen vacancies. The calculations show that the change of the electronic structure upon N-doping CeO2 is quite different from that of N-doped TiO2, which has been studied extensively.

Effect of ZnO nanoparticles particles on the mechanical properties and the curing behavior of an epoxy nanocomposite were studied. Nanocomposites were prepared using different loadings of pre-dispersed ZnO nanoparticles having an average size of 40 nm. The surface topography and morphology of the nanocomposites were studied using atomic force microscope (AFM). The mechanical properties of nanocomposites were studied using analytical techniques including dynamic mechanical thermal analysis and micro-Vickers hardness. Effects of ZnO nanoparticles on the curing behavior of these nanocomposites were investigated utilizing isothermal and non-isothermal differential scanning calorimeter techniques. In addition, chemical compositions of coatings containing different ZnO nanoparticles contents were studied using a Fourier transform inferred. It was found that, ZnO nanoparticles can effectively influence the mechanical properties of epoxy coating. In addition, lower curing degrees, and therefore crosslinking density of epoxy coating including higher ZnO nanoparticles were obtained. This effect was completely different at low and high loadings of the particles.  相似文献

The stability of silver nanoparticles is controlled mainly by two major factors, namely, aggregation and oxidation. In the present study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized by using different series of reducing agents like a strong reducing agent (sodium borohydride), a mild reducing agent (tri-sodium citrate), and a weak reducing agent (glucose) with different capping agents, namely, polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP K 30), starch, and sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose (NaCMC). The synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and anti-microbial activity. The particle size of silver nanoparticles varies in the following order: sodium borohydride < tri-sodium citrate < glucose. Combination of sodium borohydride–polyvinyl pyrrolidone and tri-sodium citrate-polyvinyl pyrrolidone yields stable silver nanoparticles compared to other combinations of reducing agents and capping agents. The stability results confirmed that a refrigerated condition (8°C) was more suitable for storage of silver nanoparticles. Anti-microbial activity of silver nanoparticles synthesized in a sodium borohydride–polyvinyl pyrrolidone mixture shows a larger zone of inhibition compared to other silver nanoparticles. Anti-microbial results confirmed that the anti-microbial activity is better with smaller particle size. The size and stability of silver nanoparticles in the presence of different combinations of stabilizing and capping agents are reported.  相似文献

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the colloidal stability of hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanoparticles prepared by different methods. Nano-sized hydroxyapatite particles are synthesized by two different methods including hydrothermal and solvo-treatment processes. In hydrothermal process nanoparticles are synthesized at high temperature, while in solvo-treatment method nanoparticles are synthesized at room temperature by the use of surfactants and organic solvent. The samples are characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray analysis detector (SEM + EDXA), and phase separation analyzer. The produced nanoparticles are different in size, stoichiometric ratio, morphology, crystallinity and colloidal stability in a dilute dental adhesive. The results show that the nanoparticles synthesized by these two methods are quite dissimilar and particles prepared by hydrothermal method have a smaller size and higher colloidal stability.  相似文献

We have developed an efficient method for producing difunctional, bilateral nanospheres. A monolayer of nanoparticles was prepared followed by deposition of a thin layer of metal. By varying the base particle and metal deposited, bilateral nanoparticles were formed. The different regions of the nanoparticles were selectively functionalized with polymer linkers containing specific terminal groups, thereby creating bilateral, difunctional nanoparticles. Subsequent covalent cross-linking of different nanoparticles enabled the formation of stable architectures with programmed hierarchy and controlled chemical composition.  相似文献

We describe a simple and versatile protocol to prepare water-soluble multifunctional nanostructures by encapsulation of different nanoparticles in shell cross-linked, block copolymer micelles. This method permits simultaneous incorporation of different nanoparticle properties within a nanoscale micellar container. We have demonstrated the co-encapsulation of magnetic (gamma-Fe2O3 and Fe3O4), semiconductor (CdSe/ZnS), and metal (Au) nanoparticles in different combinations to form multicomponent micelles that retain the precursor particles' distinct properties. Because these multifunctional hybrid nanostructures spontaneously assemble from solution by simultaneous desolvation of nanoparticles and amphiphilic block copolymer components, we anticipate that this can be used as a general protocol for preparing multifunctional nanostructures without explicit multimaterial synthesis or surface functionalization of nanoparticles.  相似文献

Metal nanoparticles with different shapes have different crystallographic faces. It is therefore of interest to study the effect of the shape of metal nanoparticles on their catalytic activity in various organic and inorganic reactions. Truncated triangular silver nanoplates with well‐defined planes were synthesized by a simple solvothermal approach. The activity of these truncated triangular silver nanoparticles was compared with that of cubic and near‐spherical silver nanoparticles in the oxidation of styrene in colloidal solution. It was found that the crystal faces of silver nanoparticles play an essential role in determining the catalytic oxidation properties. The silver nanocubes had the {100} crystal faces as the basal plane, whereas truncated triangular nanoplates and near‐spherical nanoparticles predominantly exposed the most‐stable {111} crystal faces. As a result, the rate of the reaction over the nanocubes was more than 14 times higher than that on nanoplates and four times higher than that on near‐spherical nanoparticles.  相似文献

We demonstrated a self-assembly of two different kinds of nanoparticles simultaneously directed on a monolayer film of diblock copolymer micelles via physical and chemical arrangements. We first incorporated gold nanoparticles physically around the micelles of a monolayer film of PS-PVP micelles having a short-range hexagonal order. Iron oxide nanoparticles were then synthesized chemically in the PVP core area of the ordered micelles, resulting in a mosaic nanopattern of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles surrounded by metallic gold nanoparticles. Thus, we were able to direct two kinds of nanoparticles to self-assemble in the specific positions as an example of controlled fabrication of nanometer-sized building blocks.  相似文献

Perylene nanoparticles with different sizes were prepared by reprecipitation method. It is found that the nanoparticles show size-dependent optical property.Electron diffraction patterns indicate that all the nanoparticles of different sizes are in crystalline state. The rapid growth of the nanoparticles during the aging process could be slowed down effectively by the addition of cationic or anionic surfactants.  相似文献
