Supercyclic sequences of differential operators

Summary Several necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequence of infinite order differential linear operators on spaces of holomorphic functions on a domain of the complex plane to be supercyclic or c-hypercyclic are given in this paper, so completing earlier work of the authors on hypercyclicity, which in turn extended Birkhoff--MacLane--Godefroy--Shapiro's theorems. A new, general eigenvalue criterium for supercyclicity is also provided.     

Notes about the structure of common supercyclic vectors

In this paper, we give a sufficient condition for the existence of a common universal subspace for various countable families of universal sequences of linear operators. Besides, we show that if _σp(T^?)=∅${\sigma }_p(T^{?})=\varnothing$, the unitary orbit of the supercyclic operator T contains a path of operators whose closure contains the entire unitary orbit with the strong operator topology, and yet every nonzero vector in the linear span of the orbit of a given supercyclic vector is a common supercyclic vector for the entire path.     

Supercyclicity in Spaces of Operators

A sufficient criterion for the map \({C_{A, B}(S) = ASB}\) to be supercyclic on certain algebras of operators on Banach spaces is given. If T is an operator satisfying the Supercyclicity Criterion on a Hilbert space H, then the linear map \({C_{T}(V) = TVT^*}\) is shown to be norm-supercyclic on the algebra \({\mathcal{K}(H)}\) of all compact operators, COT-supercyclic on the real subspace \({\mathcal{S}(H)}\) of all self-adjoint operators and weak*-supercyclic on \({\mathcal{L}(H)}\) of all bounded operators on H. Examples including operators of the form \({C_{B_w, F_\mu}}\) are provided, where B_w and \({F_\mu}\) are respectively backward and forward shifts on Banach sequence spaces.     

Rotations of Hypercyclic and Supercyclic Operators

Let T B(X) be a hypercyclic operator and a complex number of modulus 1. Then T is hypercyclic and has the same set of hypercyclic vectors as T. A version of this results gives for a wide class of supercyclic operators that x X is supercyclic for T if and only if the set {tTⁿ x : t > 0, n = 0, 1, ...} is dense in X. This gives answers to several questions studied in the literature.     

Hypercyclic operators on non-locally convex spaces

We transfer a number of fundamental results about hypercyclic operators on locally convex spaces (due to Ansari, Bès, Bourdon, Costakis, Feldman, and Peris) to the non-locally convex situation. This answers a problem posed by A. Peris [Multi-hypercyclic operators are hypercyclic, Math. Z. 236 (2001), 779-786].
