Formation of Supramolecular Polymers Constructed by Cyclodextrins with Cinnamamide

-Cyclodextrin having cinnamamide at 6- or 3-positions (6-CiNH--CD, 3-CiNH--CD) and -cyclodextrin with cinnamamide on 6-position (6-CiNH--CD) have been prepared. Supramolecular structures were formed in the solid state or aqueous solutions and characterized by measurements of NMR and vapor pressure osmometry (VPO). The results indicate that 6-CiNH--CD formed insoluble supramolecular polymers in the solid state, while 6-CiNH--CD and 3-CiNH--CD formed supramolecular complexes in aqueous solutions. 6-CiNH--CD was found to form a dimer in an aqueous solution. 3-CiNH--CD formed intermolecular complexes to give supramolecular polymers. The differences of the position of guest part on cyclodextrins caused to give a variety of supramolecular structures in aqueous solutions.     

Mono- and sesquiterpenoids of the oleoresin ofAbies nephrolepis. Crystal structure of (+)-β-cedrol

The composition of the mono- and sesquiterpenoids from the oleoresin of the Khingan fir has been studied. Thirteen monoterpenoids have been identified — bornyl acetate, -terpenyl acetate, geranyl acetate, citronellyl acetate, -fenchyl acetate, linalool, geraniol, terpineol-4, -terpineol, -fenchol, borneol, sabinene hydrate and thymol methyl ether; and 19 sesquiterpenoids — -longipinene, longicyclene, longifolene, -copaene, -ylangene, sibirene, -and -selinenes, - and -cadinenes, -muurolene, caryophyllene, -humulene, - and -bisabolenes, ar-curcumene, nerolidol, bisabolol, and -cedrol. Steroid compounds of marine sponges. VII. Preparation of derivatives of sokotrasterol and halistanol sulfates and structure-activity interrelationships among these compounds

Five new sulfated derivatives of sokotrasterol and halistanol have been obtained: 24-nor-5-cholane-2,3,6,23-tetraol 2,3,6-tri(sodium sulfate); 24-nor-5-cholane-2,3,6,23-tetraol 2,3,6-tri(sodium sulfate) 23-palmitate; 24,25-dimethyl-5-cholestane-2,3,6-triol 3-(sodium sulfate); 24,25-dimethyl-5-cholestane-2,3,6-triol 6-(sodium sulfate); and 24,25-dimethyl-5-cholestane-2,3,6-triol 2,6-di(sodium sulfate). The inhibiting and membranolytic properties of the polysulfated steroids from sponges and their derivatives have been studied. Synthesis of α, α, ω-trihydropolyfluoroalkyl chlorophosphates by the reaction between α,α,ω-trihydropolyfluoroalkyl phosphites and sulfuryl chloride

Conclusions An efficient method for the synthesis of ,,-trihydropolyfluoroalkyl chlorophosphates is by reacting ,,-trihydropolyfluoroalkyl dichlorophosphites and bis-(,,-trihydropolyfluoroalkyl) phosphites with sulfuryl chloride. It has been found that in three-coordinated polyfluoroalkyl phosphites, the high electronegativity of the polyfluoroalkyl groups hinders cleavage of the latter on reaction with sulfuryl chloride, thereby facilitating the formation of oxidation products.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 1, pp. 146–149, January, 1988.     

Excess enthalpies of aqueous solutions of small peptides at 25°C

Heats of dilution of aqueous solutions of the following di-and tripeptides were determined at 25°C over a wide concentration range: -alanyl-glycine, -alanyl--alanine, DL--alanyl-glycine, glycyl-DL--alanine, L--alanyl-L-alanine, DL--alanyl-DL--alanine, DL--alanyl-DL-valine, DL--alanyl--alanine, glycyl--aminobutyric acid, glycyl-L-leucine and DL--alanyl-glycylglycine. The excess enthalpies H^ex and partial molar relative enthalpies L₂ were calculated and enthalpy coefficients of intermolecular interaction were analysed using the additivity principle of Savage and Wood. The concentration dependence of the enthalpic characteristics of peptide-peptide interactions is discussed based on of their hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity. The three-stage model of peptide association is described using enthalpic coefficients of intermolecular interactions.     

Polyhydroxysteroids from the Far-Eastern starfishCtenodiscus crispatus

Four new polyhydroxysteroids, 5-cholesta-3,5,6,15,16,25,26-heptaol, 24-ethyl-5-cholesta-3,5,6,15,28,29-heptaol-29-sulfate, (22E)-24-methyl-5-cholest-22-ene-3,5,6,15,25,26-hexaol-26-sulfate, 24-propyl-5-cholesta-3,5,6,8,15,28,29-heptaol, and the known 5-cholesta-3,5,6,15,16,26-hexaol, have been isolated from the starfishCtenodiscus crispatus.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Über die Darstellung von 3β, 16α-und 3β, 16β-Diacetoxy-5α-pregnan-20-on

Zusammenfassung Die Synthese von 3, 16-Diacetoxy-5 -pregnan-20-on (VI) aus 3-Acetoxy-5 -pregn-16-en-20-on und eine verbesserte Darstellung von 3, 16-Diacetoxy-5 -pregnan-20-on (III) aus 3-Acetoxy-pregna-5, 16-dien-20-on werden beschrieben.     

Equilibrium between α- and β-isomers of dihydroartemisinine and its multiple-peaks in high-performance liquid chromatography

Summary The interconversion between the - and -isomers and the multiple-peaks of dihydroartemisinine (dihydroqinghaosu) were investigated in reversed-phase, highperformance liquid chromatography. A convenient method using the Gaussian distribution function instead of the Schmidt graphical method for the theoretical calculation of the diffuse probability curves versus the fraction of the dead time on column as form was introduced. Based on the theoretical probability curves and the experimental multiple-peak chomatograms, the effects of temperature and flow velocity on the accuracy and precision of analysis of dihydroartemisinine are indicated and the activation energy of the interconversion between - and -isomers of dihydroartemisinine is estimated.     

Differential interactions of cyclodextrins with hydrophobic derivatives of sepharose CL-4B

The partition coefficients K_av between the solution phase and octyl- and phenyl-sepharose CL-4B were determined for three cyclodextrins (CDs), -CD, -CD and -CD in various aqueous solutions, as a measure of their interactions with the two hydrophobic ligands. K_av of the CDs increased in the order of -CD<-CD<-CD for octyl-sepharose CL-4B and -CD<-CD<-CD for phenyl-sepharose CL-4B. In all cases, K_av increased by increasing NaCl concentration in the aqueous solution phase and also by lowering temperature, but in the presence of NaBr and NaSCN, both chaotropic salts, K_av decreased markedly. The spontaneity of the transfer of the CDs from the aqueous solution phases to the gel phases was due to the enthalpy decrease. It was shown that discrete separation of the three CDs can be achieved by the hydrophobic chromatography on a short column (1×25cm) of octyl-sepharose CL-4B by adjusting the NaCl concentration and temperature.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde ein allgemein anwendbarer Weg zur Herstellung von in -Stellung basisch substituierten 4,10-Trimethylenphenthiazinen durch Umsetzung der aus den -Hydroxyverbindungen erhaltenen -Bromverbindungen mit sekundären Aminen angegeben. Für das in der Literatur bekannte -Amino-4,10-Trimethylen-phenthiazin wurden neue Darstellungen beschrieben.     

Polyhydroxylated steroids from the starfishPatiria pectinifera

By chromatography on Polikhrom-1, silica gel, and Florisil, an ethanolic extract of the digestive organs of the starfishPatiria pectinifera has yielded the steroid polyols 5-cholestan-3,6,8,15,16,26-hexaol and 5-cholestan-3,4,6,7,8,15,16,26-octaol 6-(sodium sulfate). Transformed steroids. 190. Influence of Co-complexation on the epoxide ring opening of 17β-ethynyl-16α,17α-epoxyandrost-4-en-3-one on reacting with pyridine hydrofluoride,pyridine hydrochloride,and pyridine thiocyanate

The epoxide ring opening of 16,17-epoxy-17-ethynylandrost-4-en-3-one and its dicobalt hexacarbonyl complex on reacting with Py·HF, Py·HCl, and Py·HSCN was studied. The results of these reactions and the structure of the end products depend not only on the complexation of the acetylene bond, but also on the nucleophilic reagent used. On the basis of the reaction of a Co-coordinated 16,17-epoxy-17-ethynylandrost-4-en-3-one there has been developed a preparative method for the synthesis of pregn-4-ene-3,20-dione-[17,16-d]-1,3-oxazolidin-2-one.N. Triterpene Glycosides of Astragalus and Their Genins. LXI. Occurrence of Cycloartane 6-O-Monodesmosides

Cyclosiversigenin 6-O--L-rhamnopyranoside and 6-O--D-glucopyranoside were isolated fromAstragalus coluteocarpusBoiss. (Leguminosae) andAstragalus dissectusB. Fedtsch. et N. Ivanova, respectively. Cyclosiversigenin 5-O--L-rhamnopyranoside was shown to be an artifact forAstragalus coluteocarpus.Thus, the cyclosiversigenin 6-O--D-glucopyranoside that was isolated from certainAstragalusspecies is hypothesized also to be an artifact. Glycosylation of the 6 -hydroxyl group of cycloartanes by D-glucose and D-xylose, in contrast with other substituents, does not change the low-field position of the PMR signal of the 4-CH ₃ group (1.65 2.01 ppm) that is caused by the influence of deuteropyridine directly on the 6 -hydroxyl. Obviously one of the hydroxyls of the -D-glucopyranoside or -D-xylopyranoside residues has the same effect in this instance.     

Prostanoids: LXXVII. Synthetic Approaches to Sterically Overcrowded Cyclopentenones

Condensation of (±)-5-allyl-2,3,5-trichloro-4,4-dimethoxy-2-cyclopentenone with phenylethynylmagnesium bromide in THF gave (±)-5-allyl-2,3,5-trichloro-4,4-dimethoxy-1-phenylethynyl-2-cyclopenten-1-ol which chemoselectively reacted with ozone at the terminal double bond, affording (±)-2,3,5-trichloro-5-formylmethyl-4,4-dimethoxy-1-phenylethynyl-2-cyclopenten-1-ol. Oxidation of the latter with H₂CrO₄ yielded a mixture of the expected product, (±)-5-carboxymethyl-2,3,5-trichloro-4,4-dimethoxy-1-phenylethynyl-2-cyclopenten-1-ol, and anomalous profound oxidation product, (±)-2,3,5-trichloro-5-carboxymethyl-4,4-dimethoxy-1-(2-oxo-2-phenylacetyl)-2-cyclopenten-1-ol. Attempts to remove protective methoxy groups in these compounds under standard conditions were unsuccessful.     

Triterpene glycosides from Pulsatilla chinensis

Four triterpene glycosides were isolated from the roots of Pulsatilla chinensis (Bunge) Regel (Ranunculaceae). Two new glycosides, chinensiosides A (1a) and B (2), were identified as 3-O-[-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)--L-arabinopyranosyl]-28-O-[-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(14)--D-glucopyranosyl-(16)--D-glucopyranosyl]-3,23-dihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid and 3-O-{-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)-[-D-glucopyranosyl-(14)]--L-arabinopyranosyl}-28-O-[-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(14)--D-glucopyranosyl-(16)--D-glucopyranosyl]-3,23-dihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid. The other two glycosides were identified as previously known hederasaponin C (3) from Hedera helix and glycoside III (4) from Pulsatilla cernua.

Synthesen von 2-Anilinocyclopentanonen

The syntheses of the 2-anilinocyclopentanones2 a–2 e in yields about 50% by reaction of 2-chlorocyclopentanone with 4-chloroaniline, N-methyl-4-chloroaniline, ,,-trifluoro-3-toluidine, N-methyl-,,-trifluoro-3-toluidine and 3,4,5-trimethoxyaniline, are described.     

Synthesis and properties of α, α′ -bis -(p-benzylphenyl)xylene

Summary ,-bis-(p-Benzylphenyl)xylene was synthesized for the first time and its UV and infrared spectra determined.     

Substitution of halogen atom in α-halonitro compounds of the aliphatic series

Ethyl -halo--nitropropionate and -butyrate were prepared by alkylating ammonium salts of ethyl bromo- and chloronitroacetates. The addition of alkyl acrylates to alkyl chloronitroacetates or their salts gives dialkyl -chloro--nitroglutarates. Sodium salts of ethyl -nitro--sulfo--hydroxypropionate and -butyrate were obtained by the sulfodehalogenation of ethyl -chloro--nitro--hydroxypropionate and -butyrate with sodium dithionite. Esters of -amino acid hydrochlorides were prepared by the reduction of alkyl -chloro--nitrocarboxylates. The hydrogenation of alkyl nitrosulfoacetates leads to the corresponding disodium salts of alkyl aminodisulfoacetates and piperazine-2,5-dione.For communication 5 seeIvz. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser.
