A Hamiltonian system possesses dynamics (e.g. preservation of volume in phase space and symplectic structure) that call for special numerical integrators, namely canonical methods. Recent research on this aspect have shown that canonical numerical integrators may be needed for Hamiltonian systems. In this paper, we focus on numerical experiments that compare canonical and non-canonical numerical integrators. Test problems are taken from different areas in physical sciences. These experiments help to buttress the claims that canonical numerical integrators give results that mimic the qualitative behavior of the original system and that canonical numerical integrators are suitable for long time integrations. Our experiments indicate that higher-order canonical methods allow for larger timestep than lower-order canonical methods.  相似文献

The canonical formulation of the Hartle-Hawking proposal is discussed in a class of spatially homogeneous minisuperspace model. Relying on arguments of consistency with the classical variational principle, we find a set of canonical variables in which the Hartle-Hawking boundary condition is obtained by fixing in the path integral the final values of the canonical coordinates but the initial values of the canonical momenta. A canonical measure of this kind offers a natural starting point for skeletonising the minisuperspace Hartle-Hawking path integral.  相似文献

Mayer derived the Mayer series from both the canonical ensemble and the grand canonical ensemble by use of the cluster expansion method. In 2002, we conjectured a recursion formula of the canonical partition function of a fluid(X.Z. Wang, Phys. Rev. E66(2002) 056102). In this paper we give a proof for this formula by developing an appropriate expansion of the integrand of the canonical partition function. We further derive the Mayer series solely from the canonical ensemble by use of this recursion formula.  相似文献

The transformation of the Euler-Lagrange derivative under the point transformation is explicitly stated, and from this view point, the canonical transformation is reinvestigated. In our arguments, the canonical transformations are discussed strictly separately from the canonical equations. A proof is given that the Lagrangian can be restored after any infinitesimal canonical transformation. Some identities are obtained giving relations between canonically transformed and untransformed Lagrangians. Using the identities, the relation between the Noether charge and the generator of the canonical transformation is investigated. The chiral gauge, Galilei and scale transformations are considered as applications to field theory.  相似文献

Many observables seen in intermediate energy heavy-ion collisions can be explained on the basis of statistical equilibrium. Calculations based on statistical equilibrium can be implemented in microcanonical ensemble, canonical ensemble or grand canonical ensemble. This paper deals with calculations with canonical and grand canonical ensembles. A recursive relation developed recently allows calculations with arbitrary precision for many nuclear problems. Calculations are done to study the nature of phase transition in nuclear matter.  相似文献

Based on a general linear response approach we provide a systematic and unified survey of existing theories on persistent currents. The central notions in this context are equilibrium and dynamic persistent currents which are analyzed with respect to their similarities and differences in the canonical and grand canonical ensemble. We present criteria which relate the existence of persistent currents to the equipartition law and ergodicity for current correlators. We find that in additive Fermion systems at low temperatures both kinds of persistent currents coincide in the canonical ensemble whereas they differ in the grand canonical ensemble. Comparing different works on averaged persistent currents in diffusive mesoscopic rings within our framework and discussing several methods of calculating canonical currents with the help of grand canonical ensembles, we clarify some misunderstandings which have arisen in methodologically different approaches to the phenomenon of persistent currents. Finally, we relate the presence of dynamic persistent currents to the Hall conductivity on a finite cylinder and the center coordinate Kubo formula for the Hall conductivity.  相似文献

In this work we consider black hole solutions to Einstein's theory coupled to a nonlinear power-law electromagnetic field with a fixed exponent value. We study the extended phase space thermodynamics in canonical and grand canonical ensembles, where the varying cosmological constant plays the role of an effective thermodynamic pressure. We examine thermodynamical phase transitions in such black holes and find that both first- and second-order phase transitions can occur in the canonical ensemble while, for the grand canonical ensemble, Hawking–Page and second-order phase transitions are allowed.  相似文献

给出了高阶徽商场论中奇异拉氏量系统规范生成元的构成.从相空间中Green函数的生成泛函出发,导出了约束Hamilton系统正则形式的Ward恒等式.指出该系统的量子正则方程与由Dirac猜想得到的经典正则方程不同.给出了与Chern-Simons理论等价的一个广义动力学系统的量子化.将正则Ward恒等式初步应用于该系统,不作出对正则动量的路径积分,也可导出场的传播子与正规顶角之间的某些关系.  相似文献

Starting from a classical 2D superconformal theory described by the Wess–Zumino–Witten action, the canonical exterior formalism on group manifold for the heterotic supersymmetric sigma model is constructed. The motion equations of the dynamical field and the constraints are found and analyzed from the geometric point of view. It can be seen how the use of the canonical exterior formalism is more adequate and simple because of its manifest covariance in all the steps. The relationship between the form brackets defined in the canonical exterior formalism and the Poisson-brackets is written. Later on, the Dirac-brackets are written by using the second class constraints provided by the canonical exterior formalism. As it can be seen the canonical exterior formalism allows to show how the canonical quantization of the heterotic supersymmetric sigma model is facilitated. The Hamilton-Jacobi method of quantizing singular systems is discussed. The equations of motion are obtained as total differential equations in many variables. It is shown that if the system is integrable, then one can obtain the canonical phase space coordinates and the set of the canonical Hamilton-Jacobi partial differential equations without any need to introduce unphysical auxiliary fields. As an example we quantize the CP1 model using the canonical path integral quantization formalism to obtain the path integral as an integration over the canonical phase-space coordinates.  相似文献

In any classical theory in canonical form, the Poisson bracket relations between the constraints are preserved under canonical transformations. We show that in the Dirac formalism for general relativity this condition places certain limits on the degree to which one can simplify the form of the constraints. It implies, for instance, that the constraints cannot all be written as canonical momenta. In this paper the entanglement of pure 3-qubit states is discussed. The local unitary (LU) polynomial invariants that are closely related to the canonical forms are constructed and the relations of the coefficients of the canonical forms are given. Then the stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC) classification of the states are discussed on the basis of the canonical forms, and the symmetric canonical form of the states without 3-tangle is discussed. Finally, we give the relation between the LU polynomial invariants and SLOCC classification.  相似文献

Analytic signal is tightly associated with Hilbert transform and Fourier transform. The linear canonical transform is the generalization of many famous linear integral transforms, such as Fourier transform, fractional Fourier transform and Fresnel transform. Based on the parameter (ab)-Hilbert transform and the linear canonical transform, in this paper, we develop some issues on generalized analytic signal. The generalized analytic signal can suppress the negative frequency components in the linear canonical transform domain. Furthermore, we prove that the kernel function of the inverse linear canonical transform satisfies the generalized analytic condition and get the generalized analytic pairs. We show the generalized Bedrosian theorem is valid in the linear canonical transform domain.  相似文献

In this paper,the improved canonical quantization method of the self dual field is given in order to overcome linear combination problem about the second class constraint and the first class constraint number maximization problem in the Dirac method.In the improved canonical quantization method,there are no artificial linear combination and the first class constraint number maximization problems,at the same time,the stability of the system is considered.Therefore,the improved canonical quantization method is more natural and easier accepted by people than the usual Dirac method.We use the improved canonical quantization method to realize the canonical quantization of the self dual field,which has relation with string theory successfully and the results are equal to the results by using the Dirac method.  相似文献
