MgCl(2)-modified silica is an important component of some Ziegler-Natta catalysts used in the manufacture of polyethylene. Information about the structure of the dispersed magnesium sites formed by the reaction of di-n-butylmagnesium (nBu(2)Mg) with silica was sought to provide a basis for understanding their subsequent interactions with transition-metal or co-catalyst components. From infrared spectra and elemental analysis, we deduced that nBu(2)Mg reacts with porous silica in two ways: about half (47%, 0.99 mmol g(-1)) is grafted through protonolysis by surface hydroxyl groups (≡SiOH), whereas the other half (53%, 1.11 mmol g(-1)) reacts directly with siloxane bonds (≡SiOSi≡). In the (29)Si and (13)C CP/MAS NMR spectra of Sylopol-2100 silica pretreated at 500 °C then modified with nBu(2)Mg at room temperature, both alkylsilicon and alkylmagnesium sites are evident. The alkylmagnesium-modified silica surface is proposed to contain dimers and/or tetramers with the empirical formula [≡SiOMg(nBu)](n). Upon exposure of nBu(2)Mg-modified silica to anhydrous HCl, alkanes are liberated, hydroxyl groups are regenerated, and water is formed. The appearance of water suggests condensation of hydroxyl group pairs, induced by the coordinatively unsaturated nanoclusters (MgCl(2))(n) that arise by ligand exchange on the silica-supported n-butylmagnesium oligomers.  相似文献

Catalytic materials bearing multiple sulfonic acid functional groups and positioned at varying distances from one another on the surface of mesoporous solids are prepared to explore the effects that the spatial arrangement of active sites have on catalytic activity and selectivity. A series of organosiloxane precursors containing either disulfide or sulfonate ester functionalities (synthons of the eventual sulfonic acid groups) are synthesized. From these molecular precursors, a variety of organic-inorganic hybrid, mesostructured SBA-15 silica materials are prepared using a postsynthetic grafting procedure that leads to disulfide and sulfonate ester modified silicas: [Si]CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)SS-pyridyl, 2.SBA, [Si]CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)SSCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)[Si], 3.SBA, [Si]CH(2)CH(2)(C(6)H(4))(SO(2))OCH(2)CH(3), 4.SBA, and [Si]CH(2)CH(2)(C(6)H(4))(SO(2))OC(6)H(4)O(SO(2))(C(6)H(4))CH(2)CH(2)[Si], 6.SBA ([Si] = (tbd1;SiO)(x)()(RO)(3)(-)(x)()Si, where x = 1, 2). By subsequent chemical derivatization of the grafted species, thiol and sulfonic acid modified silicas are obtained. The materials are characterized by a variety of spectroscopic ((13)C and (29)Si CP MAS NMR, X-ray diffraction) and quantitative (TGA/DTA, elemental analysis, acid capacity titration) techniques. In all cases, the organic fragment of the precursor molecule is grafted onto the solid without measurable decomposition, and the precursors are, in general, attached to the surface of the mesoporous oxide by multiple siloxane bridges. The disulfide species 2.SBA and 3.SBA are reduced to the corresponding thiols 7.SBA and 8.SBA, respectively, and 4.SBA and 6.SBA are transformed to the aryl sulfonic acids 11.SBA and 12.SBA, respectively. 7.SBA and 8.SBA differ only in terms of the level of control of the spatial arrangement of the thiol groups. Both 7.SBA and 8.SBA are further modified by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide to produce the alkyl sulfonic acid modified materials 9.SBA and 10.SBA, respectively. The performances of the sulfonic acid containing SBA-15 silica materials (with the exception of 12.SBA) are tested as catalysts for the condensation reaction of phenol and acetone to bisphenol A. The alkyl sulfonic acid modified material 10.SBA derived from the cleavage and oxidation of the dipropyl disulfide modified material 3.SBA is more active than not only its monosite analogue 9.SBA, but also the presumably stronger acid aryl sulfonic acid material 11.SBA. It appears that a cooperative effect between two proximal functional groups may be operating in this reaction.  相似文献

MCM-41 and SBA-15 silicas were studied by (29)Si solid-state NMR and (15)N NMR in the presence of (15)N-pyridine with the aim to formulate generic structural parameters that may be used as a checklist for atomic-scale structural models of this class of ordered mesoporous materials. High-quality MCM-41 silica constitutes quasi-ideal arrays of uniform-size pores with thin pore walls, while SBA-15 silica has thicker pore walls with framework and surface defects. The numbers of silanol (Q(3)) and silicate (Q(4)) groups were found to be in the ratio of about 1:3 for MCM-41 and about 1:4 for our SBA-15 materials. Combined with the earlier finding that the density of surface silanol groups is about three per nm(2) in MCM-41 (Shenderovich, et al. J. Phys. Chem. B 2003, 107, 11924) this allows us to discriminate between different atomic-scale models of these materials. Neither tridymite nor edingtonite meet both of these requirements. On the basis of the hexagonal pore shape model, the experimental Q(3):Q(4) ratio yields a wall thickness of about 0.95 nm for MCM-41 silica, corresponding to the width of ca. four silica tetrahedra. The arrangement of Q(3) groups at the silica surfaces was analyzed using postsynthesis surface functionalization. It was found that the number of covalent bonds to the surface formed by the functional reagents is affected by the surface morphology. It is concluded that for high-quality MCM-41 silicas the distance between neighboring surface silanol groups is greater than 0.5 nm. As a result, di- and tripodical reagents like (CH(3))(2)Si(OH)(2) and CH(3)Si(OH)(3) can form only one covalent bond to the surface. The residual hydroxyl groups of surface-bonded functional reagents either remain free or interact with other reagent molecules. Accordingly, the number of surface silanol groups at a given MCM-41 or SBA-15 silica may not decrease but increase after treatment with CH(3)Si(OH)(3) reagent. On the other hand, nearly all surface silanol groups could be functionalized when HN(Si(CH(3))(3))(2) was used.  相似文献

Non-porous, colloidal silica particles were annealed at three different temperatures, 800, 900 and 1050 °C. The adsorption of lysozyme, a probe of surface roughness, was consistent with progressively reduced surface roughness as temperature increased. The heat treated silica particles were rehydroxylated and then used to pack UHPLC columns. The cationic protein lysozyme was used to probe silanol activity, which exhibited progressively less tailing as the annealing temperature increased. FTIR spectroscopy confirmed that the abundance of isolated silanols on the surface was reduced by annealing at 900 °C or 1050 °C. FTIR also revealed that there was markedly increased hydrogen bonding of the isolated silanols to neighbors after rehydroxylation. These results combine to support the hypothesis that (a) isolated silanols on silica cause tailing in RP-LC and (b) nonplanar topography gives rise to isolated silanols.  相似文献

The synthesis of a range of alkyl/chloro-gallium alkoxide and amido/alkoxide compounds was achieved via a series of protonolysis and alcoholysis steps. The initial reaction involved the synthesis of [Me(Cl)Ga{N(SiMe(3))(2)}](2) (1) via methyl group transfer from the reaction of GaCl(3) with two equivalents of LiN(SiMe(3))(2). Reaction of 1 with varying amounts of ROH resulted in the formation of [Me(Cl)Ga(OR)](2) (2, R = CH(2)CH(2)OMe; 3, CH(CH(3))CH(2)NMe(2)), [Me(Cl)Ga{N(SiMe(3))(2)}(μ(2)-OR)Ga(Cl)Me] (4, R = CH(2)CH(2)NMe(2)), or [MeGa(OR)(2)] (5, R = CH(CH(3))CH(2)NMe(2)). Compound 4 represents an intermediate in the formation of dimeric complexes, of the type [Me(Cl)Ga(OR)](2), when formed from compound [Me(Cl)Ga{N(SiMe(3))(2)}](2). A methylgallium amido/alkoxide complex [MeGa{N(SiMe(3))(2)}(OCH(2)CH(2)OMe)](2) (6) was isolated when 2 was further reacted with LiN(SiMe(3))(2). In addition, reaction of 2 with HO(t)Bu resulted in a simple alcohol/alkoxide exchange and formation of [Me(Cl)Ga(O(t)Bu)](2) (7). In contrast to the formation of 1, the in situ reaction of GaCl(3) with one equivalent of LiN(SiMe(3))(2) yielded [Cl(2)Ga{N(SiMe(3))(2)}](2) in low yield, where no methyl group transfer has occurred. Reaction of alcohol with [Cl(2)Ga{N(SiMe(3))(2)}](2) was then found to yield [Cl(2)Ga(OR)](2) (8, R = CH(2)CH(2)NMe(2)), and further reaction of 8 with LiN(SiMe(3))(2) yielded the gallium amido alkoxide complex, [ClGa{N(SiMe(3))(2)}(OR)](2) (9, R = CH(2)CH(2)NMe(2)), similar to 6. The structures of compounds 4, 5, 7, and 8 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The concentration and Br?nsted acidity of surface silanol groups on mesoporous silica (SBA-15) has been studied by following the adsorption of benzylamine, BA, from water as a function of pH. The adsorbed amount of BA from water was compared to the maximum amount of BA that could be adsorbed from cyclohexane. Furthermore, the surface concentration and acidity of carboxylic acid functions on surface-functionalized SBA-15 was also studied, which allowed the relative surface concentration of remaining silanols to be obtained. Two types of silanols can be identified, where about 1/5 of the silanols have a pKa 相似文献

The study of the grafting of trialkoxysilane R′Si(OR)3 molecules on amorphous silica has been undertaken at the Hartree–Fock level using a biperiodic model for the surface. Different types of slab cut out from the model system Edingtonite (a tetragonal silica structure with five SiO2 groups per unit cell) have been used to simulate isolated and interacting silanol sites at the amorphous silica surface, while only the simple case of HSi(OH)3 has been considered for the interacting molecule. In a first step, for each type of surface the geometrical parameters have been optimised and the surface formation energy determined. The geometrical structure of the grafted molecule is compared with that of the isolated one. The geometrical strains of the surfaces with either isolated or interacting silanols are also compared before and after the grafting reactions. The calculated values of the chemisorption energies show that the grafting process is favored on isolated silanols only if correlation effects are included.  相似文献

Silica surface sites, which can be formed in cleavage processes, and their hydrolyzed counterparts are investigated with ab initio cluster calculations. Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) theory is used to characterize bonding around silica surface sites. Higher energy lone pairs of electrons on oxygen atoms either hyperconjugate to vicinal silanol/siloxane antibonding orbitals or backdonate electron density via donor–acceptor π-type bonding with participation of pd or p hybrids on silicon atoms. Upon substitution of hydroxyl groups of orthosilicic acid with silica monomers the strength of siloxane and silanol Si–O bonding increases as energies of bonding orbitals and contributions from p-orbitals decrease. Silanone sites and a complementary pair of silyl/siloxy radical sites are found to be the most stable geminal and single non-hydrolyzed sites, respectively. Atomic charges based on natural wavefunctions and on fitting to electrostatic potential, and characteristic bands of IR spectra associated with siloxane and silanol stretching vibrations of silica surface sites are reported.  相似文献

The reactions of CpZr(CH(3))(3), 1, and Cp(2)Zr(CH(3))(2), 2, with partially dehydroxylated silica, silica-alumina, and alumina surfaces have been carried out with careful identification of the resulting surface organometallic complexes in order to probe the relationship between catalyst structure and polymerization activity. The characterization of the supported complexes has been achieved in most cases by in situ infrared spectroscopy, surface microanalysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis of evolved gases during surface reactions with labeled surface, solid state (1)H and (13)C NMR using (13)C-enriched compounds, and EXAFS. 1 and 2 react with silica(500) and silica-alumina(500) by simple protonolysis of one Zr-Me bond by surface silanols with formation of a single well-defined neutral compound. In the case of silica-alumina, a fraction of the supported complexes exhibits some interactions with electronically unsaturated surface aluminum sites. 1 and 2 also react with the hydroxyl groups of gamma-alumina(500), leading to several surface structures. Correlation between EXAFS and (13)C NMR data suggests, in short, two main surface structures having different environments for the methyl group: [Al](3)-OZrCp(CH(3))(2) and [Al](2)-OZrCp(CH(3))(mu-CH(3))-[Al] for the monoCp series and [Al](2)-OZrCp(2)(CH(3)) and [Al]-OZrCp(2)(mu-CH(3))-[Al] for the bisCp series. Ethylene polymerization has been carried out with all the supported complexes under various reaction conditions. Silica-supported catalysts in the absence of any cocatalyst exhibited no activity whatsoever for ethylene polymerization. When the oxide contained Lewis acidic sites, the resulting surface species were active. The activity, although improved by the presence of additional cocatalysts, remained very low by comparison with that of the homogeneous metallocene systems. This trend has been interpreted on the basis of various possible parameters, including the (p-pi)-(d-pi) back-donation of surface oxygen atoms to the zirconium center.  相似文献

The donor-functionalised alkoxides [Et(2)Ga(OR)](2)(R = CH(2)CH(2)NMe(2)(1), CH(CH(2)NMe(2))(2)(2), CH(2)CH(2)OMe (3), CH(CH(3))CH(2)NMe(2)(4), C(CH(3))(2)CH(2)OMe (5)) were synthesised by the 1:1 reaction of Et(3)Ga with ROH in hexane or dichloromethane at room temperature. Reaction of Et(3)Ga with excess ROH in refluxing toluene resulted in the isolation of a 1:1 mixture of [Et(2)Ga(OR)](2) and the ethylgallium bisalkoxide [EtGa(OR)(2)](R = CH(2)CH(2)NMe(2)(6) or CH(CH(3))CH(2)NMe(2)(7)). X-ray crystallography showed that compound 6 is monomeric and this complex represents the first structurally characterised monomeric gallium bisalkoxide. Homoleptic gallium trisalkoxides [Ga(OR)(3)](2) were prepared by the 1:6 reaction of [Ga(NMe(2))(3)](2) with ROH (R = CH(2)CH(2)NMe(2)(8), CH(CH(3))CH(2)NMe(2)(9), C(CH(3))(2)CH(2)OMe (10)). The decomposition of compounds 1, 4, 5 and 8 were studied by thermal gravimetric analysis. Low pressure CVD of 1 and 5 resulted in the formation of thin films of crystalline Ga(2)O(3).  相似文献

A range of tertiary bicyclic phosphine ligands derived from cis, cis-1,5-cyclooctadiene (Phoban family) was studied by batch autoclave reactions during the hydroformylation of a mixture of linear internal decenes using a cobalt catalyst system. Comparative runs were performed with PBu(3) as representative of standard trialkyl phosphine behaviour. The Phoban ligands comprise of a cyclooctyl bicycle with a mixture of the [3.3.1] and [4.2.1] isomers where the third substituent was systematically varied, Phoban-Q (Q = CH(2)CH(3), (CH(2))(4)CH(3), (CH(2))(9)CH(3), (CH(2))(19)CH(3), (CH(2))(3)N(CH(3))(2), C(6)H(11) and C(6)H(5)). An increase in ligand concentration resulted in a decrease in the reaction rate while the selectivity towards the n-alcohol product increased in accordance with a move from more unmodified catalysis to more modified catalysis. Alcohol yields of 77-85% were obtained at rates of 1.8-2.4 h(-1) for highly modified catalysis. Under highly modified conditions the linearity of the alcohol ranges in a narrow band from approximately 85-90% from Phoban-Ph to Phoban-Cy respectively. Hydrogenation of the alkene substrate varied from approximately 9-15% for Phoban-Ph and Phoban-Cy respectively the least and most electron donating derivatives. The two phosphine isomers were separated for Phoban-C(2) and the hydroformylation activity were re-evaluated for each isomer. The less electron donating [4.2.1] isomer required slightly higher ligand concentrations to achieve fully modified catalysis and gave rates and linearities comparable to the [3.3.1] isomer but giving slightly higher yields due to less hydrogenation of the olefin. In comparison, at fully modified conditions, PBu(3) gave a rate of 0.6 h(-1), alcohol yield of 77%, linearity of 81% and 17% hydrogenation. The crystal structures of the cobalt dimers [Co(CO)(3)(Phoban[3.3.1]-C(2))](2), [Co(CO)(3)(Phoban[3.3.1]-C(5))](2), [Co(CO)(3)(Phoban[3.3.1]-C(3)NMe(2))](2), and [Co(CO)(3)(Phoban[3.3.1]-Cy)](2) have been determined and indicated very similar geometries with Co-Co and Co-P bond distances ranging from 2.6526(10)-2.707(3) and 2.1963(8)-2.2074(9) A respectively. The cone angles of the Phoban ligands were calculated from the crystallographic data, according to the Tolman model, and ranges from 159-165 degrees.  相似文献

The reactions of Ga(CH(2)CH(3))(3) with variable amounts of elemental sulfur, S(8), in toluene or benzene at different temperatures result in the insertion of sulfur into the Ga-C bonds to form the compounds Ga[(S-S)CH(2)CH(3)](3) (I) and Ga[(S-S-S)CH(2)CH(3)](3) (II). Compound I was isolated from the reaction at low temperature while at room temperature; compound II was the major product. Compound II exhibited the maximum extent of sulfur insertion even when the reactions were carried out with more than 9.0 equiv of sulfur. The reactions of Ga(CH(3))(3) with various amounts of sulfur in toluene or benzene only result in the formation of compound III, Ga[(S-S)CH(3)](3). In pyridine at -30 degrees C, deinsertion of the sulfur atoms from Ga-S-S-C bonds was observed for the first time from compounds I and III resulting in formation of the six-membered Ga-S ring compounds IV, [PyEtGaS](3), and V, [PyMeGaS](3), respectively. Compounds IV and V were characterized by (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound IV crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, with a = 9.288(2) ?, b = 14.966(2) ?, c = 19.588(3) ?, beta = 90.690(10) degrees, and Z = 4. Compound V crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, with a = 10.385(1) ?, b = 15.300(2) ?, c = 15.949(2) ?, beta = 107.01(1) degrees, Z = 4, unit cell volume = 2423.5(5) ?(3), R = 0.030, and R(w) = 0.026. The sulfur insertion reaction pathway was investigated by time-dependent and variable-temperature (1)H NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Aryl bromides react with (H(2)NCH(2)CH(2))(3)N in a reaction catalyzed by Pd(2)(dba)(3) in the presence of BINAP and NaO-t-Bu to give the arylated derivatives (ArylNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N [Aryl = C(6)H(5) (1a), 4-FC(6)H(4) (1b), 4-t-BuC(6)H(4) (1c), 3,5-Me(2)C(6)H(3) (1d), 3,5-Ph(2)C(6)H(3) (1e), 3,5-(4-t-BuC(6)H(4))(2)C(6)H(3) (1f), 2-MeC(6)H(4) (1g), 2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2) (1h)]. Reactions between (ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N (Ar = C(6)H(5), 4-FC(6)H(4), 3,5-Me(2)C(6)H(3), and 3,5-Ph(2)C(6)H(3)) and Mo(NMe(2))(4) in toluene at 70 degrees C lead to [(ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]Mo(NMe(2)) complexes in yields ranging from 64 to 96%. Dimethylamido species (Ar = 4-FC(6)H(4), 3,5-Me(2)C(6)H(3)) could be converted into paramagnetic [(ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]MoCl species by treating them with 2,6-lutidinium chloride in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The "direct reaction" between 1a-f and MoCl(4)(THF)(2) in THF followed by 3 equiv of MeMgCl yielded [(ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]MoCl species (3a-f) in high yield. If 4 equiv of LiMe instead of MeMgCl are employed in the direct reaction, then [(ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]MoMe species are formed. Tungsten species, [(ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]WCl, could be prepared by analogous "direct" methods. Cyclic voltammetric studies reveal that MoCl complexes become more difficult to reduce as the electron donating ability of the [ArylNCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]3- ligand increases, and the reductions become less reversible, consistent with ready loss of chloride from ([(ArNHCH(2)CH(2))(3)N]MoCl)(-). Tungsten complexes are more difficult to reduce, and reductions are irreversible on the CV time scale.  相似文献

The gas-phase reaction of Ga atoms with NH(3) was studied behind reflected shock waves in the temperature range of 1380 to 1870 K at pressures of 1.4 to 4.0 bar. Atomic-resonance-absorption spectroscopy (ARAS) at 403.299 nm was applied for the time-resolved determination of the Ga-atom concentration. Trimethylgallium (Ga(CH(3))(3)) was used as a precursor of Ga atoms. After the initial increase in Ga concentration due to Ga(CH(3))(3) decomposition, the Ga concentration decreases rapidly in the presence of NH(3). For the simulation of the measured Ga-atom concentration profiles from the studied reaction, additional knowledge about the thermal decomposition of Ga(CH(3))(3) is required. The rate coefficient k(4) of the reaction Ga + NH(3) → products (R4) was determined from the Ga-atom concentration profiles under pseudo-first-order assumption and found to be k(4)(T) = 10(14.1±0.4) exp(-11?900 ± 700 K/T) cm(3) mol(-1) s(-1) (error limits at the one standard deviation level). No significant pressure dependence was noticeable within the scatter of the data at the investigated pressure range.  相似文献

The decomposition of trimethylsilane and tetramethylsilane has been investigated for the first time, using hot wire (catalytic) at various temperatures. Trimethylsilane is catalytic-dissociated in these species SiH(2), CH(3)SiH, CH(3), CH(2)Si. Time of flight mass spectroscopy signal of these species are linearly increasing with increasing catalytic-temperature. Time of flight mass spectroscopy (TOFMS) signals of (CH(3))(3)SiH and photodissociated into (CH(3))(2)SiH are decreasing with increasing hot filament temperature. TOFMS signal of (CH(3))(4)Si is decreasing with increasing hot wire temperature, but (CH(3))(3)Si signal is almost constant with increasing the temperature. We calculated activation energies of dissociated species of the parental molecules for fundamental information of reaction kinetics for the first time. Catalytic-dissociation of trimethylsilane, and tetramethylsilane single source time of flight coupled single photon VUV (118 nm) photoionization collisionless radicals at temperature range of tungsten filament 800-2360 K. The study is focused to understand the fundamental information on reaction kinetics of these molecules at hot wire temperature, and processes of catalytic-chemical vapour deposition (Cat-CVD) technique which could be implemented in amorphous and crystalline SiC semiconductors thin films.  相似文献

In the pursuit of a "rotated" structure, and exploration of the influence of the aza nitrogen lone pair, the Fe(I)Fe(I) model complexes wherein two Fe(CO)(3-x)P(x) moieties are significantly twisted from the ideal configuration (torsion angle >30°) are reported. [Fe(2)(μ-S(CH(2))(2)N(i)Pr(X)(CH(2))(2)S)(CO)(4)(κ(2)-dppe)](2)(2+) (X = H, 4; Me, 5) prepared from protonation and methylation, respectively, of [Fe(2)(μ-S(CH(2))(2)N(i)Pr(CH(2))(2)S)(CO)(4)(κ(2)-dppe)](2), 1, possess Φ angles of 34.1 and 35.4° (av.), respectively. Such dramatic twist is attributed to asymmetric substitution within the Fe(2) unit in which a dppe ligand is coordinated to one Fe site in the κ(2)-mode. In the presence of the N···C(CO(ap)) interaction, the torsion angle is decreased to 10.8°, suggesting availability of lone pairs of the aza nitrogen sites within 1 is in control of the twist. Backbones of the bridging diphosphine ligands also affect distortion. For a shorter ligand, the more compact structure of [Fe(2)(μ-S(CH(2))(2)N(i)Pr(CH(2))(2)S)(μ-dppm)(CO)(4)](2), 7, is formed. Dppm in a bridging manner allows achievement of the nearly eclipsed configuration. In contrast, dppe in [Fe(2)(μ-S(CH(2))(2)N(i)Pr(CH(2))(2)S)(μ-dppe)(CO)(4)](2), 6, could twist the Fe(CO)(3-x)L(x) fragment to adopt the least strained structure. In addition, the NC(CO(ap)) interaction would direct the twist towards a specific direction for the closer contact. In return, the shorter N···C(CO(ap)) distance of 3.721(7) ? and larger Φ angle of 26.5° are obtained in 6. For comparison, 3.987(7) ? and 3.9° of the corresponding parameters are observed in 7. Conversion of (μ-dppe)[Fe(2)(μ-S(CH(2))(2)N(i)Pr(CH(2))(2)S)(CO)(5)](2), 2, to complex 1 via an associative mechanism is studied.  相似文献

The catalytic activity, kinetics, and quantification of H-bonding ability of incompletely condensed polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) silanols are reported. POSS-triols, a homogeneous model for vicinal silica surface sites, exhibit enhanced H-bonding compared with other silanols and alcohols as quantified using a 31P NMR probe. Evaluation of a Friedel–Crafts addition reaction shows that phenyl-POSS-triol is active as an H-bond donor catalyst whereas other POSS silanols studied are not. An in-depth kinetic study (using RPKA and VTNA) highlights the concentration-dependent H-bonding behavior of POSS-triols, which is attributed to intermolecular association forming an off-cycle dimeric species. Binding constants provide additional support for reduced H-bond ability at higher concentrations, which is attributed to competitive association. POSS-triol self-association disrupts H-bond donor abilities relevant for catalysis by reducing the concentration of active monomeric catalyst.  相似文献

To this day packing materials manufacturers are still trying to develop reversed-phase stationary phases that have silica more completely reacted with bonding ligands to afford more homogeneous particle surfaces. Incomplete bonding causes inhomogeneous effects that are readily observed when separating basic solutes because of the acidic silanols that are unreacted. However, it is still not understood exactly what types of silanol sites are unreacted or if metal impurities are contributing to the resulting peak asymmetry observed. A method is presented which utilizes (1) the frontal analysis method of chromatography to obtain adsorption/partition isotherms, (2) a heterogeneous Langmuir distribution model for the resulting isotherm, (3) an expectation-maximization numerical procedure to solve the mathematical problem to yield the most probable distribution of adsorption parameters, and (4) the equilibrium-dispersive model of chromatography incorporating the fitted isotherm model to check the validity of the sorption model with experimental observations. Correlation of packing materials characterization parameters with results obtained by this procedure will indicate what type of silanols or other sites are responsible for observed tailing behavior. Developers and manufacturers will then be able to more efficiently target their synthetic designs for "base-deactivated" reversed-phase silicas.  相似文献

Gallium hydrazides are potentially applicable as facile starting compounds for the generation of GaN by thermolysis. The decomposition pathways are, however, complicated and depend strongly on the substituents attached to the gallium atoms and the hydrazido groups. This paper describes some systematic investigations into the thermolysis of the gallium hydrazine adduct Bu(t)(3)Ga←NH(2)-NHMe (1a) and the dimeric gallium hydrazides [R(2)Ga(N(2)H(2)R')](2) (2b, R = Bu(t), R' = Bu(t); 2c, R = Pr(i), R' = Ph; 2d, R = Me, R' = Bu(t)) which have four- or five-membered heterocycles in their molecular cores. Heating of the adduct 1a to 170 °C gave the heterocyclic compound Bu(t)(2)Ga(μ-NH(2))[μ-N(Me)-N(=CH(2))]GaBu(t)(2) (3) by cleavage of N-N bonds and rearrangement. 3 was further converted at 400 °C into the tetrameric gallium cyanide (Bu(t)(2)GaCN)(4) (4). The thermolysis of the hydrazide (Bu(t)(2)Ga)(2)(NH-NHBu(t))(2) (2b) at temperatures between 270 and 420 °C resulted in cleavage of all N-N bonds and the formation of an octanuclear gallium imide, (Bu(t)GaNH)(8) (6). The trimeric dialkylgallium amide (Bu(t)(2)GaNH(2))(3) (5) was isolated as an intermediate. Thermolysis of the hydrazides (Pr(i)(2)Ga)(2)(NH-NHPh)(NH(2)-NPh) (2c) and (Me(2)Ga)(2)(NH-NHBu(t))(2) (2d) proceeded in contrast with retention of the N-N bonds and afforded a variety of novel gallium hydrazido cage compounds with four gallium atoms and up to four hydrazido groups in a single molecule: (Pr(i)Ga)(4)(NH-NPh)(3)NH (7), (MeGa)(4)(NH-NBu(t))(4) (8), (MeGa)(4)(NH-NBu(t))(3)NBu(t) (9), and (MeGa)(4)(NHNBu(t))(3)NH (10). Partial hydrolysis gave reproducibly the unique octanuclear mixed hydrazido oxo compound (MeGa)(8)(NHNBu(t))(4)O(4) (11).  相似文献

New insights into the distinct organometallic chemistry of the Ga(+) ion are presented. Ga(+) reacts as a strong electrophile with the electron rich ligand trismethylene-methane (C(CH(2))(3) (2-)) attached at Ru by insertion into a Ru--C bond. The resulting "gallamethylallyl" ligand behaves like strong nucleophile similar to known monovalent GaR species. This donor property leads to the dimeric structure of the product [{Ru(GaCp*)(3)[eta(3)-(CH(2))(2)C{CH(2)(mu-Ga)}]}(2)][(BAr(F))(2)] (4) (Cp*=C(5)Me(5), [BAr(F)]=[B{C(6)H(3)(CF(3))(2)}(4)]). Very unexpectedly, the two gallium ligands in this dimer are found in close vicinity to each other with a distance in the range of Ga--Ga bonds. Indeed, AIM calculations confirm a weak attractive closed shell Ga--Ga interaction. Finally, a novel example of a complex with substituent-free Ga(+) as a ligand was found in the compound [Ru(PCy(3))(2)(GaCp*)(2)(Ga)][BAr(F)] (6) (Cy=C(6)H(11), cyclohexyl), the very short Ru--Ga bond length confirming the assumption that Ga(+) represents a pure sigma/pi-accepting ligand in this case.  相似文献
