From a finite size analysis we extract the structure factorS(p, N=) of the one dimensional AFH-model in the groundstate: The gross structure is well described byL (p) = –ln(1– p ). The fine structure which only contributes a few percent reveals a pronounced non-linear behavior inL(p) with a maximum atp=0.20 and a minimum atp=0.82.  相似文献

We establish the existence of the Wilson Renormalised trajectory of theO(N) sigma model in perturbation theory in the effective charge. A cluster of two atoms described by thes-f model with Coulomb repulsion has been considered. The interaction between localized 4f electrons (S=1/2) is taken in the molecular field approximation. The thermodynamic quantities like magnetization, specific heat and correlation functions n , n , S z n , S z n , S z (n n ), n n and S + a + a as functions of temperature are presented for different band fillingN=0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2. The dependence of Curie temperature onN is calculated. The phase diagram forN=1 (T=0K) shows the possibility of existence of two phases: paramagnetic and ferromagnetic.The Curie temperature and the specific heat as functions ofN exhibit similar trends as found in experiments on doped magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献

We motivate the definition of the Einstein 3-form G by means of the contracted 2nd Bianchi identity. This definition contains the whole curvature 2-form. The L 1-form, defined via G = L *( ) ( is the Hodge-star, the coframe), is equivalent to the Einstein 3-form and contains all the information of the curvature 2-form relevant for the definition of the Einstein 3-form. A variational formula of Salgado on quadratic invariants of the L 1-form is discussed, generalized, and put into proper perspective.  相似文献

It is well known that in the non-depleted pump approximation, the efficiency of a second harmonic generation (SHG) of a guided mode in a non-linear optical waveguide increases quadratically with the interaction length (P 2 L 2), and linearly (P 2 L) in the erenkov regime. The efficiency of the erenkov SHG in the waveguide with a non-linear substrate and linear guiding layer is known to be strongly peaked at a particular pump wavelength and a particular waveguide thickness, with the erenkov angle approaching zero. The known theory predicts an infinite efficiency value at the peak, however. In this contribution, a simple integral expression for the SHG efficiency in the erenkov regime is derived. For large erenkov angles and interaction lengths it yields the expected P 2 L dependence, while in the limit of small erenkov angles the dependence is found to have the form of P L 3/2, possessing also a finite value at the efficiency peak. The condition determining the accurate position of the efficiency peak in the waveguide thickness–pump wavelength plane is given, too.  相似文献

The critical behaviour of a semi-infinite system withO(n) spin symmetry is studied in 4- dimensions near the ordinary transition using renormalization-group methods of field theory and -expansion techniques. It is found that, to all orders in , all surface exponents can be expressed in terms of two bulk exponents and a single surface exponent which follows from the anomalous dimension of the derivative (x ,0) of The order parameter (x,x ) at the surface (x =0). As a byproduct, Barber's scaling law 2111 = + is obtained. The surface exponents are calculated to second order in . Our results show that the scaling relation = –1 proposed by Bray and Moore is incorrect. The behaviour of various scaling functions close to the surface (i.e. forx correlation length) is determined with the help of short-distance expansions. We also treat corrections to scaling and logarithmic corrections in four dimensions. Our results for the logarithmic corrections of the layer and local susceptibilities disagree with those obtained by Guttmann and Reeve.A brief account of some of the results presented here was given in [1]. The spin-two particle is described by a symmetric tensorh subject to the subsidiary conditionsh = h =0. Their covariant generalization and the wave equation have been obtained directly from the Eulerian variational equations by algebraic methods only. The behaviour of the numbers n s of clusters withs sites each in the case of a chain ofN sites is studied for free and cyclic boundary conditions. Explicit expressions for the n s, which differ from (1–p)2 p s=q 2 p s for the infinite lattice, are given. Also the total numberG(p) of clusters and the mean cluster sizeS(p) are calculated. In the thermodynamic limit the correction terms are found to be of order 1/N. An investigation of the scaling behaviour shows that the scaling of n s is described by two independent variables in contrast toG(p) andS(p) which require only one variable.  相似文献

The bulk conductivity *(p) of the bond lattice in d is considered, where the bonds have conductivity 1 with probabilityp or 0 with probability 1-p Various representations of the derivatives of *(p) are developed. These representations are used to analyze the behavior of *(p) for =0 near the percolation thresholdp c , when the conducting backbone is assumed to have a hierarchical node-link-blob (NLB) structure. This model has loops on arbitrarily many length scales and contains both singly and multiply connected bonds. Exact asymptotics of for the NLB model are proven under some technical assumptions. The proof employs a novel technique whereby for the NLB model with =0 andp nearp c is computed using perturbation theory for *(p) (for two- and three-component resistor lattices) aroundp=1 with a sequence of s converging to 1 as one goes deeper in the hierarchy. These asymptotics establish convexity of *(p) (for the NLB model) nearp c , and that its critical exponentt obeys the inequalities 1t2 ford=2,3, while 2t3 ford4. TheSU(N) Yang-Mills equations are considered in a four-dimensional Euclidean box with periodic boundary conditions (hypertorus). Gauge-invariant twists can be introduced in these boundary conditions, to be labeled with integersn (= –n ), defined moduloN. The Pontryagin number in this space is often fractional. A variety of rigorous inequalities for critical exponents is proved. Most notable is the low-temperature Josephson inequalitydv +2 2–. We review some exact results for the motion of a tagged particle in simple models. Then, we study the density dependence of the self-diffusion coefficientD N() in lattice systems with simple symmetric exclusion in which the particles can jump, with equal rates, to a set ofN neighboring sites. We obtain positive upper and lower bounds onF N()=N{(1–)–[DN()/DN(0)]}/[(1–)]x for [0, 1]. Computer simulations for the square, triangular, and one-dimensional lattices suggest thatF N becomes effectively independent ofN forN20.  相似文献

We investigate the band-gap structure of some second-order differential operators associated with the propagation of waves in periodic two-component media. Particularly, the operator associated with the Maxwell equations with position-dependent dielectric constant (x),xR 3, is considered. The medium is assumed to consist of two components: the background, where (x) = b , and the embedded component composed of periodically positioned disjoint cubes, where (x) = a . We show that the spectrum of the relevant operator has gaps provided some reasonable conditions are imposed on the parameters of the medium. Particularly, we show that one can open up at least one gap in the spectrum at any preassigned point provided that the size of cubesL, the distancel=L betwen them, and the contrast = b / a are chosen in such a way thatL –2, and quantities -1-3/2 and 2 are small enough. If these conditions are satisfied, the spectrum is located in a vicinity of widthw(3/2)-1 of the set {2 L -2 k 2:kZ3}. This means, in particular, that any finite number of gaps between the elements of this discrete set can be opened simultaneously, and the corresponding bands of the spectrum can be made arbitrarily narrow. The method developed shows that if the embedded component consists of periodically positioned balls or other domains which cannot pack the space without overlapping, one should expect pseudogaps rather than real gaps in the spectrum.  相似文献
