In this paper our objective is to provide physically reasonable solutions for the stationary Navier–Stokes equations in a two-dimensional domain with two outlets to infinity, a semi-strip Π and a half-plane K. The same problem in an aperture domain, i.e. in a domain with two half-plane outlets to infinity, has been studied but only under symmetry restrictions on the data. Here, we assume that the main asymptotic term of the solution takes an antisymmetric form in K and apply the technique of weighted spaces with detached asymptotics, i.e. we use spaces where the functions have prescribed asymptotic forms in the outlets.After first showing that the corresponding Stokes problem admits a unique solution if and only if certain compatibility conditions are satisfied, we write the Navier–Stokes equations as a perturbation of the Stokes problem and the crucial compatibility condition as an algebraic equation by which the flux becomes determined. Assuming that the coefficient of the main (antisymmetric) asymptotic term of the solution in K does not vanish and that the data are sufficiently small, we use a contraction principle to solve the Navier–Stokes system coupled with the algebraic equation.Finally, we discuss the ill-posedness of the Navier–Stokes problem with prescribed flux.  相似文献

Characterizations via convolutions with smooth compactly supported kernels and other distinguished properties of the weighted Besov–Lipschitz and Triebel–Lizorkin spaces on ℝn with weights that are locally in Ap but may grow or decrease exponentially at infinity are investigated. Square–function characterizations of the weighted Lp and Hardy spaces with the above class of weights are also obtained. A certain local variant of the Calderón reproducing formula is constructed and widely used in the proofs.  相似文献

Numerical conformal mapping packages based on the Schwarz–Christoffel formula have been in existence for a number of years. Various authors, for good reasons of practical efficiency, have chosen to use composite n-point Gauss–Jacobi rules for the estimation of the Schwarz–Christoffel path integrals. These implementations rely on an ad hoc, but experimentally well-founded, heuristic for selecting the spacing of the integration end-points relative to the position of the nearby integrand singularities. In the present paper we derive an explicitly computable estimate, asymptotic as n→∞, for the relevant Gauss–Jacobi quadrature error. A numerical example illustrates the potential accuracy of the estimate even at low values of n. It is apparent that the error estimate will allow the adaptive construction of composite rules in a manner that is more efficient than has been possible hitherto.  相似文献

We study a generalization of the classical Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities. We relate this problem to the sampling sequences in the Paley–Wiener space and by using this analogy we give sharp necessary and sufficient computable conditions for a family of points to satisfy the Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities.  相似文献

We consider a triple of N-functions (M,H,J) that satisfy the Δ-condition, and suppose that an additive variant of interpolation inequality holds

Given a Lipschitz domain , a Calderón–Zygmund operator T and a modulus of continuity , we solve the problem when the truncated operator sends the Campanato space into itself. The solution is a T1 type sufficient and necessary condition for the characteristic function of D: To check the hypotheses of T1 theorem we need extra restrictions on both the boundary of D and the operator T. It is proved that the truncated Calderón–Zygmund operator with an even kernel is bounded on , provided D is a ‐smooth domain.  相似文献

The main result of this paper is an enumeration of all Motzkin‐Rabin geometries on up to 18 points. A Motzkin‐Rabin geometry is a two‐colored linear space with no monochromatic line. We also study the embeddings of Motzkin‐Robin geometries into projective spaces over fields and division rings. We find no Motzkin‐Rabin geometries on up to 18 points embeddable in ?2 or ??2(t)2. We find many examples of Motzkin‐Rabin geometries with no proper linear subspaces. We give an example of a proper linear space embeddable in ?(?( )2). © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the present paper we characterize the spectrum of small transverse vibrations of an inhomogeneous string with the left end fixed and the right one moving with damping in the direction orthogonal to the equilibrium position of the string. The density of the string is supposed to be smooth and strictly positive everywhere except of an interval of zero density at the right end.
