In this review article we study type IIB superstring compactifications in the presence of space‐time filling D‐branes while preserving 𝒩=1 supersymmetry in the effective four‐dimensional theory. This amount of unbroken supersymmetry and the requirement to fulfill the consistency conditions imposed by the space‐time filling D‐branes lead to Calabi‐Yau orientifold compactifications. For a generic Calabi‐Yau orientifold theory with space‐time filling D3‐ or D7‐branes we derive the low‐energy spectrum. In a second step we compute the effective 𝒩=1 supergravity action which describes in the low‐energy regime the massless open and closed string modes of the underlying type IIB Calabi‐Yau orientifold string theory. These 𝒩=1 supergravity theories are analyzed and in particular spontaneous supersymmetry breaking induced by non‐trivial background fluxes is studied. For D3‐brane scenarios we compute soft‐supersymmetry breaking terms resulting from bulk background fluxes whereas for D7‐brane systems we investigate the structure of D‐ and F‐terms originating from worldvolume D7‐brane background fluxes. Finally we relate the geometric structure of D7‐brane Calabi‐Yau orientifold compactifications to 𝒩=1 special geometry.  相似文献

This review article is concerned with three topics important for the construction of four‐dimensional models of particle physics in the context of type II String Theories. Special emphasis is put on a consistent presentation of these topics as well as on highlighting their interconnections. The first of the three topics deals with the tadpole cancellation conditions and the cancellation of chiral anomalies for type IIB orientifolds with orientifold three‐ and seven‐planes. The second topic is related to non‐perturbative effects originating from D‐brane instantons. In particular, in the presence of a realistic particle physics sector, a chiral zero‐mode constraint for contribution of instantons to the superpotential arises. The third topic is about moduli stabilisation in type IIB string compactifications. Two scenarios, the KKLT and Large Volume Scenario, are reviewed and a model for the latter scenario with the chiral zero‐mode constraint taken into account is presented.  相似文献

Hydrolytic reactions of cyclic bis(3′‐5′)diadenylic acid (c‐di‐AMP) have been followed by Reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP‐HPLC) over a wide pH range at 90 °C. Under neutral and basic conditions (pH ≥ 7), disappearance of the starting material (first‐order in [OH?]) was accompanied by formation of a mixture of adenosine 2′‐monophosphate and 3′‐monophosphate (2′‐AMP and 3′‐AMP). Under very acidic conditions (from H0 = ?0.7 to 0.2), c‐di‐AMP undergoes two parallel reactions (first‐order in [H+]): the starting material is cleaved to 2′‐AMP and 3′‐AMP and depurinated to adenine (i.e., cleavage of the N‐glycosidic bond), the former reaction being slightly faster than the latter one. At pH 1–3, isomerization to cyclic bis(2′‐5′)diadenylic acid competes with the depurination. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Fourier‐transform infrared spectrum of 3‐hydroxy‐2‐naphthoic acid hydrazide (3H2NAH) was recorded in the region 4000–400 cm−1. The Fourier‐transform Raman spectrum of 3H2NAH was also recorded in the region 3500–10 cm−1. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of 3H2NAH were carried out by density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6‐31G(d,p) as basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the electric dipole moment (µ) and the first‐order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated molecule were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The UV spectrum was measured in ethanol solution. The calculation results also show that the 3H2NAH molecule might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non‐zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 3H2NAH is also reported based on total energy distribution (TED). The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra for the title molecule have also been constructed. As part of the efforts for the design of new organic nonlinear optical(NLO) materials with high efficiency for present day technological requirements, a comprehensive investigation on the intramolecular charge transfer(CT) of an efficient π‐conjugated potential push–pull NLO chromophore, ethyl‐3‐(3,4‐dihydroxyphenyl)‐2‐propenoate(EDP) to a strong electron‐acceptor group through the π‐conjugated bridge has been carried out from their vibrational spectra. The first hyperpolarizabilities of caffeic derivatives are investigated by ab initio method. The NLO efficiency is experimentally measured by powder efficiency experiment. The strongest vibrational modes contributing to the electro‐optic effect from the simultaneous infrared(IR) and Raman activities of the ring CC stretching modes, in‐plane deformation modes, and the umbrella mode of the methyl groups have been identified and analyzed unambiguously. The influence of electronic effects, hyperconjugation and backdonation, on the C H stretching vibrations of both methyl and methylene groups causing the decrease of stretching wavenumbers and IR intensities has been extensively investigated. In this work, a set of derivatives of 2‐(5‐amino‐3‐nitro‐1,2,4‐triazolyl)‐3,5‐dinitropyridine (PRAN) with different energetic substituents (?N3, –NO2, –NH2, –NF2) have been studied at the Becke, three‐parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr/aug‐cc‐pvdz, Becke, three‐parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr/6‐31G(d), Becke, three‐parameter, Perdew 86/6‐31G(d), and Becke three‐parameter, Perdew–Wang 91/6‐31G(d,p) levels of density functional theory. The gas‐phase heats of formation were predicted with isodesmic reactions and the condensed‐phase HOFs were estimated with the Politzer approach. The effects of different functionals and basis sets were analyzed. –N3 and –NO2 greatly increase while –NH2 and –NF2 slightly decrease heats of formation. An analysis of the bond dissociation energies and impact sensitivity shows that all compounds have good stability. The crystal densities (1.82–2.00 g/cm3) computed from molecular packing calculations are big for all compounds and that of the –NF2 derivative is the largest. All derivatives have higher detonation velocity and detonation pressure than PRAN. Compounds 3 and 4 (R = NO2 and NF2) have better performance than hexahydro‐1,3,5‐trinitro‐1,3,5‐trizine and the performance of 4 is quite close to that of 1,3,5,7‐tetranitro‐1,3,5,7‐tetraazacyclooctane, they are promising candidates of high energy compounds and worth further investigations. The study of the hydrogen/deuterium exchange reactions of the C(2)‐proton for different carbene precursors has been carried out in the absence and presence of β‐cyclodextrin in D2O at 25°C. Formation of the inclusion complexes of imidazolium salts with the native β‐cyclodextrin and the β‐dimethylcyclodextrin is demonstrated by 1D and 2D 1H NMR, ESI/HRMS and a molecular modelling study. Formation of the inclusion complexes of imidazolium salts with the native β‐cyclodextrin and the β‐dimethylcyclodextrin is a simple and efficient method to modify the acidity of the imidazolium H(2) and to modify its environment. Encapsulation of 1,3‐disubstituted imidazolium chloride by β‐cyclodextrins results in the inhibition of the H(2)/D exchange in the complex. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

syn‐2,2,4,4‐Tetramethyl‐3‐{2‐[3,4‐alkylenedioxy‐5‐(3‐pyridyl)]thienyl}pentan‐3‐ols self‐associate both in the solid state and in solution. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study of the 3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) derivative shows that it exists as a centrosymmetric head‐to‐tail, syn dimer in the solid state. The IR spectra of the solids display only a broad OH absorption around 3300 cm?1, corresponding to a hydrogen‐bonded species. 1H Nuclear Overhauser Effect Spectroscopy (NOESY) NMR experiments in benzene reveal interactions between the tert‐butyl groups and the H2 and H6 protons of the pyridyl group. Two approaches have been used to determine association constants of the EDOT derivative by NMR titration, based on the concentration dependence of (i) the syn/anti ratio and (ii) the OH proton shift of the syn rotamer. Reasonably concordant results are obtained from 298 to 323 K (3.6 and 3.9 M?1, respectively, at 298 K). Similar values are obtained from the syn OH proton shift variation for the 3,4‐methylenedioxythiophene (MDOT) derivative. Concentration‐dependent variation of the anti OH proton shift in the latter suggests that the anti isomer associates in the form of an open, singly hydrogen‐bonded dimer, with a much smaller association constant than the syn rotamer. Self‐association constants for 3‐pyridyl‐EDOT‐alkanols with smaller substituents vary by a factor of 4 from (i‐Pr)2 up to (CD3)2, while the hetero‐association constants for the same compounds with pyridine vary slightly less. We have synthesized both the 4 and 5 tautomeric forms of 4(5)‐(2′‐furyl)‐imidazole (1) and investigated their molecular vibrations by infrared and Raman spectroscopies as well as by calculation based on the density functional theory (DFT) approach. Examination of the temperature dependence of IR intensity revealed the band characteristics of the 4 and 5 tautomers of (1). Comparison of experimental and calculated chemical shifts in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy was made in order to identify the two tautomeric forms. The assignment of vibrational normal modes was performed, and the force field obtained reproduced the experimental vibrational wavenumbers with a root mean‐square deviation (RMSD) value of ca. 13 cm−1 for both tautomers. The effects of solvents on chemical phenomena (rate and equilibrium constants, spectroscopic transitions, etc.) are conveniently described by solvation free‐energy relationships that take into account solvent acidity, basicity and dipolarity/polarizability. The latter can be separated into its components by manipulating the UV–vis spectra of two solvatochromic probes, 2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)‐7‐nitrofluorene (DMANF) and a di‐(tert‐butyl)‐tetramethyl docosanonaen probe (ttbP9) whose synthesis is laborious and expensive. Recently, we have shown that the natural dye β‐carotene can be conveniently employed instead of ttbP9 for the determination of solvent polarizability (SP) of 76 molecular solvents and four ionic liquids. In the present work, we report the polarizabilities of further 24 solvents. Based on the solvatochromism of β‐carotene and DMANF, we have calculated solvent dipolarity (SD) for 103 protic and aprotic molecular solvents, and ionic liquids. The dependence of SD and SP on the number of carbon atoms in the acyl‐ or alkyl group of several homologous series (alcohols; 2‐alkoxyethanols; carboxylic acid‐ anhydrides, and esters, ionic liquids) is calculated and briefly discussed. The nature and strength of metal–ligand bonds in organotransition–metal complexes is crucial to the understanding of organometallic reactions and catalysis. The Fe‐N homolytic bond dissociation energies [ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s] of two series of para‐substituted Fp anilines p‐G‐C6H4NHFp [1] and p‐G‐C6H4N(COMe)Fp [2] were studied using the Hartree–Fock (HF) and the density functional theory methods with large basis sets. In this study, Fp is (η5‐C5H5)Fe(CO)2 and G are NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO and NMe2. The results show that BP86 and TPSSTPSS can provide the best price/performance ratio and accurate predictions of ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s. B3LYP can also satisfactorily predict the α and remote substituent effects on ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s [ΔΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s]. The good correlations [r = 0.96 (g, 1), 0.99(g, 2)] of ΔΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s in series 1 and 2 with the substituent σp+ constants imply that the para‐substituent effects on ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s originate mainly from polar effects, but those on radical stability originate from both spin delocalization and polar effects. ΔΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s(1,2) conform to the captodative principle. Insight from this work may help the design of more effective catalytic processes. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Knowledge of the strength of the metal–ligand bond breaking and formation is fundamental for an understanding of the thermodynamics underlying many important stoichiometric and catalytic organometallic reactions. Quantum chemical calculations at different levels of theory have been used to investigate heterolytic Fe―C bond energies of para‐substituted benzyldicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl)iron, p‐G‐C6H4CH2Fp [1, G = NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO, NMe2; Fp = (η5‐C5H5)(CO)2Fe], and para‐substituted α‐cyanobenzyldicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl)iron, p‐G‐PANFp [2, PAN = C6H4CH(CN)]. The results show that BP86 and TPSSTPSS can provide the best price/performance ratio and more accurate predictions in the study of ΔHhet(Fe―C)'s. The good linear correlations [r = 0.98 (g, 1a), 0.99 (g, 2b)] between the substituent effects of heterolytic Fe―C bond energies [ΔΔHhet(Fe―C)'s] of series 1 and 2 and the differences of acidic dissociation constants (ΔpKa) of C―H bonds of p‐G‐C6H4CH3 and p‐G‐C6H4CH2CN imply that the governing structural factors for these bond scissions are similar. And the excellent linear correlations [r = ?1.00 (g, 1c), ?0.99 (g, 2d)] between ΔΔHhet(Fe―C)'s and the substituent σp? constants show that these correlations are in accordance with Hammett linear free energy relationships. The polar effects of these substituents and the basis set effects influence the accuracy of ΔHhet(Fe―C)'s. ΔΔHhet(Fe―C)'s(1, 2) follow the Capto‐dative Principle. The detailed knowledge of the factors that determine the Fp―C bond strengths would greatly aid in understanding reactivity patterns in many processes. The spectra of the ν1, 2ν1ν1, ν2, 2ν2, and 3ν2ν2 bands of CF4 were obtained with a quasi‐continuous wave stimulated Raman spectrometer. These five bands were studied at a temperature of 135 and 300 K (for the hot bands). The spectrum of ν1 was obtained at a sample pressure of 2 mbar. For the spectra of the other regions, which are much weaker, higher pressures were used. The analysis has been performed thanks to the xtds and spview softwares developed in Dijon for such highly symmetric molecules. Combining the present results with a previous infrared study, we could determine a very accurate value for the C–F equilibrium bond length, i.e. re = 1.31588(6) Å. One of the most fundamental properties in chemistry is the bond dissociation energy, the energy required to break a specific bond of a molecule. In this paper, the Fe–N homolytic bond dissociation energies [ΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s] of 2 series of (meta‐substituted anilinyl)dicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl) iron [m‐G‐C6H4NHFp ( 1 )] and (meta‐substituted α‐acetylanilinyl)dicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl) iron [m‐G‐C6H4N(COMe)Fp ( 2 )] were studied using density functional theory methods with large basis sets. In this study, Fp is (η5‐C5H5)Fe(CO)2, and G is NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO, and NMe2. The results show that Tao‐Perdew‐Staroverov‐Scuseria, Minnesota 2006, and Becke's power‐series ansatz from 1997 with dispersion corrections functionals can provide the best price/performance ratio and accurate predictions of ΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s. The ΔΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s ( 1 and 2 ) conform to the captodative principle. The polar effects of the meta‐substituents show the dominant role to the magnitudes of ΔΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s. σα· and σc· values for meta‐substituents are all related to polar effects. Spin‐delocalization effects of the meta‐substituents in ΔΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s are small but not necessarily zero. RE plays an important role in determining the net substituent effects on ΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s. Insight from this work may help the design of more effective catalytic processes.  相似文献

A kinetic investigation in methanol of the title reaction has evidenced the occurrence of two processes: the 1‐ E 1‐ Z isomerization and the rearrangement of the (Z)‐isomer into the relevant 4‐benzoylamino‐2,5‐diphenyl‐1,2,3‐triazole ( 1‐ Z → T ). The latter reaction is in line with the ability of the (Z)‐phenylhydrazones of 3‐benzoyl‐1,2,4‐oxadiazoles to undergo the so called mononuclear rearrangement of heterocycles (MRH). The occurrence of both the examined reactions is dependent on a Lewis‐acid‐catalysis. The obtained results have shown the possibility of a ‘new’ type of acid‐catalysis (bifunctional catalysis by Lewis salts) in the MRH. This catalysis operates through a completely different mechanism with respect to the one recently observed, and deeply investigated, in the presence of protic acids for the (Z)‐phenylhydrazone of 5‐amino‐3‐benzoyl‐1,2,4‐oxadiazole, in both dioxane/water and toluene, for which the catalytic process was dependent on the protonation of N(4) ring‐nitrogen of the 1,2,4‐oxadiazole. As a matter of fact, the copper salts seem able to interact with the >C?N? NH? C6H5 moiety, yielding adducts which, in some cases, are prone to both isomerize and rearrange. Therefore, a similar behaviour in some manner parallel to that already observed in benzene in the presence of aliphatic amines (base‐catalysis) has been evidenced. IR and Raman spectra (RS) of polycrystalline 3‐(or 4 or 6)‐methyl‐5‐nitro‐2‐pyridinethione have been measured and analyzed by means of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations. The B3LYP/6‐311G(2d,2p) approach has been applied for both the thiol and thione tautomers due to the possibility of the formation of these two thiole forms. Molecular structures of these compounds have been optimized starting from different molecular geometries of the thiol group and thione group. Two conformations of the 2‐mercaptopyridine, trans and cis, have been taken into account. It was shown that the studied compounds appear in the solid state in the thione form. The acid‐catalyzed hydrolysis of a series of 5‐substituted‐1H,3H‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole 2,2‐dioxides has been investigated in aqueous solutions of sulfuric, perchloric, and hydrochloric acid at 85.0 ± 0.05 °C. Analysis of the kinetic data by the excess acidity method, Arrhenius parameters, the order of the catalytic effects of strong acids, the kinetic deuterium isotope effect, and the substituent effect have indicated that the hydrolysis of 5‐substituted benzosulfamides 1a , 1b , 1c , 1d occur with a mechanistic switchover from A2 to A1 in the studied range: an A2 mechanism in low acidity regions and an A1 mechanism in high acid concentrations. We report surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra from 4‐mercaptopyridine (4‐Mpy) adsorbed on sub‐monolayers of α‐Fe2O3 nanocrystals (sphere, spindle, cube). The maximum enhancement factor has been estimated to be about 104 compared to that of 4‐Mpy in solution. A possible mechanism has been proposed that the charge transfer between the α‐Fe2O3 nanocrystals and the 4‐Mpy molecules is most likely responsible for the observed enhancement of Raman intensity of adsorbed 4‐Mpy molecules as surface plasmon resonances have not occurred.
