We consider a one-parameter family of delay differential equations which has been proposed as a model for a prize and prove that at a critical parameter where the linearization at equilibrium has a double zero eigenvalue periodic solutions bifurcate off with periods descending from infinity. In this paper we develop Kaplan-Yorke's method and consider the existence of periodic solutions for some delay differential equations. We especially study Hopf and saddle-node bifurcations of periodic solutions with certain periods for these equations with parameters, and give conditions under which the bifurcations occur. We also give application examples and find that Hopf and saddle-node bifurcations often occur infinitely many times.  相似文献

In this paper, a three-species predator-prey system with two delays is investigated. By choosing the sum τ of two delays as a bifurcation parameter, we first show that Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium of the system can occur as τ crosses some critical values. Second, we obtain the formulae determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions by using the normal form theory and center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulations supporting our theoretical results are also included.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the Nicholson blowflies equation with nonlinear diffusion and time delay subject to the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition in a bounded domain. We establish the existence of nontrivial periodic solutions of the time-periodic problem under general conditions by constructing a coupled upper–lower solution pair and by applying the Schauder fixed point theorem. The attractivity of the periodic solutions is also discussed by using the monotone iteration method.  相似文献

In this paper, a modified Holling-Tanner predator-prey model with time delay is considered. By regarding the delay as the bifurcation parameter, the local asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated. Meanwhile, we find that the system can also undergo a Hopf bifurcation of nonconstant periodic solution at the positive equilibrium when the delay crosses through a sequence of critical values. In particular, we study the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcated periodic solutions, an explicit algorithm is given by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for functional differential equations. In this paper, we propose an impulsive semi-ratio-dependent predator-prey model with dispersion and time delays. By applying the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, we establish a set of sufficient conditions on the existence of at least one positive periodic solution. By using the method of planar dynamical systems to an integrable nonlinear wave equation, the existence of periodic travelling wave, solitary wave and kink wave solutions is proved in the different parametric conditions. The phase portraits of the travelling wave system are given. It can be shown that the existence of singular curves in the travelling wave system is the reason why the travelling wave solutions lose their smoothness. We consider the synchronized periodic oscillation in a ring neural network model with two different delays in self-connection and nearest neighbor coupling. Employing the center manifold theorem and normal form method introduced by Hassard et al., we give an algorithm for determining the Hopf bifurcation properties. Using the global Hopf bifurcation theorem for FDE due to Wu and Bendixson's criterion for high-dimensional ODE due to Li and Muldowney, we obtain several groups of conditions that guarantee the model have multiple synchronized periodic solutions when the transfer coefficient or time delay is sufficiently large.  相似文献
