Four new supramolecular compounds of Cu(II)-Ni(II) have been synthesized and characterized: [Cu(Me(2)oxpn)Ni(mu-NCS)(H(2)O)(tmen)](2)(ClO(4))(2) (1), [Cu(Me(2)oxpn)Ni(mu-NCS)(H(2)O)(tmen)](2)(PF(6))(2) (2), [Cu(oxpn)Ni(mu-NCS)(NCS) (tmen)](n) (3), and [Cu(Me(2)oxpn)Ni(mu-NCS)(NCS)(tmen)](n) (4), where oxpn = N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)oxamidate, Me(2)oxpn = N,N'-bis(3-amino-2,2'-dimethylpropyl)oxamidate, and tmen = N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine. Their crystal structures were solved. Complexes 1 and 2 have the same tetranuclear cationic part but a different counteranion. The cationic part consists of two [Cu(Me(2)oxpn)Ni] moieties linked by SCN(-) bridged ligands and intra-tetranuclear hydrogen bonds. In the case of complex 3, a two-dimensional system was built, the thiocyanate ligand linking the dinuclear units gives a chain, and the chains are linked together by hydrogen bonds; intrachain hydrogen bonds are also present. For complex 4, the thiocyanate ligands produce intermolecular linkages between the dinuclear entities, giving a one-dimensional system; intrachain hydrogen bonds are also present. The magnetic properties of the four complexes were studied by susceptibility measurements vs temperature. DFT calculations were made to study the contribution of the SCN(-) and hydrogen bond bridges in the magnetic coupling.  相似文献

Four oxamato-bridged heterotrinuclear Ni(II)Cu(II)Ni(II) complexes of formula ([Ni(bispictn)](2)Cu(pba))(ClO(4))(2).2.5H(2)O (1), ([Ni(bispictn)](2)Cu(pbaOH))(ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (2), ([Ni(cth)](2)Cu(pba))(ClO(4))(2) (3), and ([Ni(cth)](2)Cu(opba))(ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (4) and a binuclear Ni(II)Cu(II) complex of formula [Cu(opba)Ni(cth)].CH(3)OH (5) have been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR, ESR, and electronic spectra, where pba = 1,3-propylenebis(oxamato), pbaOH = 2-hydroxyl-1,3-propylenebis(oxamato), opba = o-phenylenebis(oxamato), bispictn = N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,3-propanediamine, and cth = rac-5,7,7,12,14,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane. The crystal structures of 1, 3, and 5 have been determined. The structures of complexes 1 and 3 consist of trinuclear cations and perchlorate anions, and that of 5 consists of neutral binuclear molecules which are connected by hydrogen bonds and pi-pi interactions to produce a unique supramolecular "double" sheet. In the three complexes, the copper atom in a square-planar or axially elongated octahedral environment and the nickel atom in a distorted octahedral environment are bridged by the oxamato groups, with Cu.Ni separations between 5.29 and 5.33 A. The magnetic properties of all five complexes have been investigated. The chi(M)T versus T plots for 1-4 exhibit the minimum characteristic of antiferromagnetically coupled NiCuNi species with an irregular spin state structure and a spin-quartet ground state. The chi(M)T versus T plot for 5 is typical of an antiferromagnetically coupled NiCu pair with a spin-doublet ground state. The Ni(II)-Cu(II) isotropic interaction parameters for the five complexes were evaluated and are between 102 and 108 cm(-)(1) (H = -JS(Cu).S(Ni)).  相似文献

Deprotonation of the tridentate isoindoline ligand 1,3-bis[2-(4-methylpyridyl)imino]-isoindoline, 4'-MeLH, and reaction with hydrated zinc(II) perchlorate produces an unexpected trinuclear Zn(II) complex, [Zn(3)(4'-MeL)(4)](ClO(4))(2).5H(2)O (1), whereas reaction with hydrated copper(II) perchlorate in methanol produces the expected mononuclear product, [Cu(4'-MeL)(H(2)O)(2)]ClO(4) (2). X-ray diffraction shows that the trinuclear Zn(II) complex (1) contains a linear zinc backbone, and the arrangement of ligands about the outer chiral zinc(II) atoms is helical. The two terminal zinc ions exhibit approximate C(2) site symmetry, with tetrahedral coordination by two pyrrole and two pyridyl nitrogen atoms of the potentially tridentate isoindoline ligands. The central zinc ion exhibits approximate tetrahedral symmetry, with coordination by four pyridyl nitrogen atoms of four different isoindoline ligands. Pyridyl-pyrrole intramolecular pi-stacking interactions contribute to the stability of the trinuclear cation. The structure of the mononuclear copper(II) complex cation in 2 is best described as a distorted trigonal bipyramid. The isoindoline anion binds Cu(II) in both axial positions and one of the equatorial positions; water molecules occupy the other two equatorial positions.  相似文献

Magnetic, spectroscopic and superoxide dismutase activity of imidazolate bridged [(Salala)Cu-Im-Cu(Salala)]Na, [(Salala)Cu-Im-Zn(Salala)]Na and [(Salala)Cu-Im-Ni(Salala)]Na (Salala=Salicyledenealiniate, Im=Imdiazolate) are described. The epr and electronic spectra of related mononuclear complexes, viz., [(Salala)Cu-OH(2)] and [(Salala)Cu-ImH] also described. Appearance of a half-field signal in polycrystalline and decrease in mu(eff) per copper(II) ion indicate super exchange coupling between copper(II) ion in [(Salala)Cu-Im-Cu(Salala)]Na binuclear complex. A pH-dependent epr and UV-vis study of 50% aqueous DMSO solution of binuclear complexes suggest that the complexes are stable in narrow pH range.  相似文献

Four new heterotrinuclear complexes have been synthesized and characterized, namely {[Ni(L)2]2[Cu(opba)]}(ClO4)2, where opba denotes o-phenylenebis(oxamato) and L stands for 1,10-phenanthroline(phen) (1), 5-nitro-l,10-phenanthroline(NO2-phen) (2), 2,2′-bipyridyl(bpy) (S) and 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridyl(Me2bpy) (4). The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of {[Ni(phen)2]2[Cu(opba)]}(ClO4)23H2O has been studied in the 4–300 K range, giving the exchange integral J—109 cm?1. The HMT vs. T plot exhibits a minimum at about 100 K, characteristic of this kind of coupled polymetallic complex with an irregular spin-state structure.  相似文献

The imidazolate-bridged homodinuclear Cu(II)-Cu(II) complex, [(CuimCu)L]ClO(4).0.5H(2)O (1), and heterodinuclear Cu(II)-Zn(II) complex, [(CuimZnL(-)(2H))(CuimZnL(-)(H))](ClO(4))(3) (2), of a single macrocyclic ligand with two hydroxyethyl pendants, L (L = 3,6,9,16,19,22-hexaaza-6,19-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)tricyclo[22,2,2,2(11,14)]triaconta-1,11,13,24,27,29-hexaene), have been synthesized as possible models for copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (Cu(2),Zn(2)-SOD). Their crystal structures analyzed by X-ray diffraction methods have shown that the structures of the two complexes are markedly different. Complex 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, containing an imidazolate-bridged dicopper(II) [Cu-im-Cu](3+) core, in which the two copper(II) ions are pentacoordinated by virtue of an N4O environment with a Cu.Cu distance of 5.999(2) A, adopting the geometry of distorted trigonal bipyramid and tetragonal pyramid, respectively. Complex 2 crystallizes in the triclinic system, containing two similar Cu-im-Zn cores in the asymmetric unit, in which both the Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions are pentacoordinated in a distorted trigonal bipyramid geometry, with the Cu.Zn distance of 5.950(1)/5.939(1) A, respectively. Interestingly, the macrocyclic ligand with two arms possesses a chairlike (anti) conformation in complex 1, but a boatlike (syn) conformation in complex 2. Magnetic measurements and ESR spectroscopy of complex 1 have revealed the presence of an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between the two Cu(II) ions. The ESR spectrum of the Cu(II)-Zn(II) heterodinuclear complex 2 displayed a typical signal for mononuclear trigonal bipyramidal Cu(II) complexes. From pH-dependent ESR and electronic spectroscopic studies, the imidazolate bridges in the two complexes have been found to be stable over broad pH ranges. The cyclic voltammograms of the two complexes have been investigated. Both of the two complexes can catalyze the dismutation of superoxide and show rather high activity.  相似文献

Theoretical calculations using density functional methods have been performed on two dinuclear {Ni(II)-Gd(III)} and two trinuclear {Ni(II)-Gd(III)-Ni(II)} complexes having two and three μ-OR (R = alkyl or aromatic groups) bridging groups. The different magnetic behaviour, having moderately strong ferromagnetic coupling for complexes having two μ-OR groups and weak ferromagnetic coupling for complexes having three μ-OR groups, observed experimentally is very well reproduced by the calculations. Additionally, computation of overlap integrals MO and NBO analysis reveals a clear increase in antiferromagnetic contribution to the net exchange for three μ-OR bridged {Ni-Gd} dimers and also provides several important clues regarding the mechanism of magnetic coupling. Besides, MO and NBO analysis discloses the role of the empty 5d orbitals of the Gd(III) ion on the mechanism of magnetic coupling. Magneto-structural correlations for Ni-O-Gd bond angles, Ni-O and Gd-O bond distances, and the Ni-O-Gd-O dihedral angle have been developed and compared with the published experimental {Ni-Gd} structures and their J values indicate that the Ni-O-Gd bond angles play a prominent role in these types of complexes. The computation has then been extended to two trinuclear {Ni(II)-Gd(III)-Ni(II)} complexes and here both the {Ni-Gd} and the {Ni-Ni} interactions have been computed. Our calculations reveal that, for both structures studied, the two {NiGd} interactions are ferromagnetic and are similar in strength. The {Ni-Ni} interaction is antiferromagnetic in nature and our study reveals that its inclusion in fitting the magnetic data is necessary to obtain a reliable set of spin Hamiltonian parameters. Extensive magneto-structural correlations have been developed for the trinuclear complexes and the observed J trend for the trinuclear complex is similar to that of the dinuclear {Ni-Gd} complex. In addition to the structural parameters discussed above, for trinuclear complexes the twist angle between the two Ni-O-Gd planes is also an important parameter which influences the J values.  相似文献

Crystal structures of new trinuclear complexes [Ni 3(mu-OAc F) 4(mu-AA) 2(tmen) 2], [Ni 3(mu-OAc F) 4(mu-BA) 2(tmen) 2], and [Co 3(mu-OAc F) 4(mu-BA) 2(tmen) 2] have been determined (OAc F = CF 3COO (-), AA = acetohydroxamate anion, BA = benzohydroxamate anion, tmen = N, N, N', N'-tetramethylethylenediamine). In each structure, the metal ions have distorted octahedral coordination and are triply bridged by one hydroxamate and two trifluoroacetate bridges. Magnetic properties of these compounds and of relative [Co 3(mu-OAc F) 4(mu-AA) 2(tmen) 2] were studied by susceptibility and magnetization measurements. It was shown that for nickel trimers the intramolecular magnetic coupling is weak ferromagnetic in the case of the complex with the AA group, and there is nearly no coupling in the case with BA group. Rather large zero field splitting was obtained for the distorted octahedral environments of the terminal nickel ions. The cobalt trimers were additionally studied by magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) measurements. The exchange interaction of the cobalt complexes is antiferromagnetic.  相似文献

Summary Two novel MnII-MnIII-MnII oxalato complexes have been synthesized and characterized, namely [Mn2Mn(ox)3(L)4](ClO4) [L = 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (NO2-phen), respectively], where ox stands for the oxalate dianion. Based on i.r., elemental analyses and electronic spectra, these complexes are proposed to have extended oxalatobridged structures consisting of MnII and MnIII ions, in which MnIII and each MnII ion has a distorted octahedral environment. The temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility for [Mn2Mn(ox)3(phen)4] (ClO4) was measured over the 4.1–300 K range and the observed data were successfully simulated by an equation based on the spin-Hamiltonian operator ( = -2J( 1 2 + 2 3)), giving the exchange integral J = -1.57cm–1. This indicates weak antiferromagnetic spin exchange interaction between MnII and MnIII ions.  相似文献

Summary Four new trinuclear copper(II) complexes bridged by o-phenylenebis(oxamato) (opba) and end-capped with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (NO2-phen), 2,2-bipyridyl (bipy) or 4,4-dimethyl-2,2-bipyridyl (Me2bipy), {[Cu(opba)][Cu(L)]2}(ClO4)2 (L = phen, NO2-phen, bipy or Me2bipy), have been synthesized and characterized. Based on i.r., elemental analyses, conductivity measurements and electronic spectra, oxamato-bridged structures consisting of three copper(II) ions in which each copper(II) ion has a square-planar environment are proposed. The temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility of {[Cu(opba)][Cu(phen)]2} (ClO4)2 has been studied in the 4.2–300 K range, giving the exchange integral J = -134.4cm–1. The result revealed the operation of an antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction between the adjacent copper ions.  相似文献

The dinuclear Cu2+ and Zn2+ as well as the mixed Cu2+-Zn2+ complexes of a 5,5'-pentaazaterpyridinophane ligand (L) are able to incorporate imidazolate (Im-) as a bridging ligand. The crystal structure of [Cu(2)L(Im)(Br)(H2O)](CF(3)SO(3))(2).3H2O (1) shows one copper coordinated by the three pyridine nitrogens of the terpyridine unit, one nitrogen of the imidazolate bridge (Im-) and one bromide anion occupying the axial position of a distorted square pyramid. The second copper atom is coordinated by the remaining imidazolate nitrogen, the three secondary nitrogens at the centre of the polyamine bridge and one water molecule that occupies the axial position. Magnetic measurements have been performed in the 2.0-300.0 K temperature range. Experimental data could be satisfactorily reproduced by using an isotropic exchange model H = -JS(1)S(2) with J = -52.3 cm(-1) and g = 2.09. Potentiometric studies have provided details of the speciation and stability constants for the mixed Cu2+-L-HIm, Zn2+-L-HIm (HIm = imidazole) and Cu2+-Zn2+-L-HIm systems. The apparent stability constant obtained at pH = 9 for the addition of imidazole to the dinuclear Cu2+ complexes is one of the highest so far reported (log K = 7.5). UV-Vis spectroscopy and paramagnetic NMR data show that imidazole coordinates to the Cu2+ ions as a bridging imidazolate ligand from pH 5 to 10. Electrochemical reduction of the Cu2+-Zn2+-L complex occurs in two successive one-electron per copper ion quasi-reversible steps. The formal potential of the Cu2+-Zn2+-L/Cu+-Zn2+-L couple is close to that of SOD. The IC50 values measured at pH 7.8 by means of the nitro blue tetrazolium method show significant SOD activity for the dinuclear Cu2+ complexes (IC50 = 2.5 microM) and moderate activity for the Cu2+-Zn2+ mixed systems (IC50 = 30 microM).  相似文献

A series of trinuclear Cu(II)Ln(III)Cu(II) complexes with the bridging ligand 2,6-di(acetoacetyl)pyridine have been prepared by one-pot reaction with Cu(NO(3))(2).3H(2)O and Ln(NO(3))(3).nH(2)O in methanol. X-ray crystallographic studies for all the complexes indicate that two L(2)(-) ligands selectively sandwich two Cu(II) ions with the 1,3-diketonate entities and one Ln(III) ion with the 2,6-acetylpyridine entity to form a trinuclear CuLnCu core bridged by the enolate oxygen atoms. Cryomagnetic properties of the complexes are studied with respect to the electronic structure of the Ln ion.  相似文献

Two new heterotrinuclear FeIII-MII-FeIII oxalate-bridged complexes have been prepared, and characterized, namely MII[(ox)FeIII(Salen)]2, [Salen = N,N′-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminate), ox = oxalate, M = Cu (1) and VO (2)]. Based on elemental analysis, conductivity measurements and i.r. spectra, the complexes are proposed to have an oxalate-bridged structure. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured over the 4.2–300 K range, giving the exchange integrals J AB = −4.23 cm−1, J AA = −2.47 cm−1 for (1) and J AB = −5.42 cm−1, J AA = −1.55 cm−1 for (2). These results revealed the operation of an antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction between the metal ions. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

We have reported herein the synthesis of three new Cu(II) complexes of tri- and tetradentate Schiff base ligands containing N3 or N4 donor set along with terminal NNN or SCN ligands: [L1Cu(NCS)]ClO4 (1), [L2Cu(NCS)2] (2) and [L3Cu(NNN)]ClO4 (3) [L1 = NC5H4C(CH3)=N(CH2)3N=C(CH3)C5H4N, L2= Me2N–(CH2)3–N=C(CH3)C5H4N and L3 = NC5H4CH=N–(CH2)4–N=CHC5H4N]. The complexes have been systematically characterised by elemental, spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques. Antimicrobial activities of the Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes have been studied using the disc diffusion method on the strains of Candida tropicalis and Bacillus megaterium. Structures of all the complexes have been unequivocally established from single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses that show the monomeric units containing a five-coordinated copper center in highly distorted square pyramidal geometry with thiocyanate or azide anion coordinated as terminal ligand. The complexes 1 and 3 crystallise in monoclinic (P21/c) and 2 in triclinic (P-1) space group, respectively.  相似文献

In this research, we prepared a new series of the Cu(II) (1) and Ni(II) (2) metal complexes of a tridentate Schiff base ligand, (E)-2-(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylideneamino) phenol (H2L). These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV–Vis, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structures of (1) and (2) were determined by X-ray diffraction studies. The single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that copper(II) cation is five-coordinated and the coordination polyhedron is a slightly distorted square pyramid. Nickel(II), on the other hand, is four-coordinated, and has a regular, square planar geometry. Further discussed were the electrochemical reduction of these complexes. We also analyzed the nature of the metal–ligand bond in the complexes through NBO and EDA analysis. Besides, vibrational sample magnetometer (VSM) revealed complex (1) was ferromagnetic.  相似文献

The synthesis, structure, and magnetic properties of two new tetranuclear Cu(II) complexes containing N,N,N',N'-tetraethylpyridine-2,6-dithiocarboxamide (S-dept) of formula [Cu(2)Cl(2)(mu-S-dept)(2)][Cu(2)Cl(4)(mu-Cl)(2)] (1) and [Cu(2)(mu-Cl)(2)(S-dept)(2)][CuCl(3)(EtOH)](2) (2) are reported. Their X-ray crystal structures reveal that the complexes are composed of anionic and cationic dimers, that in both cases contain the metal centers which interact via Coulombic and/or hydrogen bonding interactions. In both cases, the Cu centers in the anionic moieties adopt a slightly distorted tetrahedral geometry whereas for the cationic moieties they adopt a square-pyramidal type of geometry. Magnetic susceptibility data show that compounds 1 and 2 present an overall antiferromagnetic behavior arising from the contribution of both anionic and cationic moieties. For 1, the best fit obtained gave J(1) = -2.62 +/- 0.19 cm(-1), J(2) = -19.54 +/- 0.47 cm(-1), and g(2) = 2.164 +/- 0.004 cm(-1) (R = 8.28 x 10(-5)) whereas for 2 it gave J(1) = 4.48 +/- 2.73 cm(-1), g(1) = 2.20 +/- 0.03, J(2) = -11.26 +/- 2.01 cm(-1), and g(2) = 2.10 +/- 0.03 (R = 1.15 x 10(-4)). The nature of the superexchange pathways in 1 and 2 is discussed on the basis of structural, magnetic, and molecular orbital considerations. Theoretical calculations are performed at the extended Huckel level in order to obtain their molecular orbitals and energies using their crystallographic data.  相似文献

The preparation, spectroscopic characterization, and magnetic study of three new oxamidate-bridged nickel(II) dinuclear complexes of formulas ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-oa))(PF6)2 (1), ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-dmoa))(PF6)2 (2), and ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-dpoa))(PF6)2 (3) (Me3[12]aneN3 = 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,5,9-triazacyclododec-1-ene, oa = oxamidate, dmoa = N,N'-dimethyloxamidate, and dpoa = N,N'-diphenyloxamidate) are reported. The crystal structures of two of them (1 and 3) have been determined. 1 and 3 crystallize in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c, with Z = 2 and a = 7.901(4) A, b = 13.597(6) A, c = 17.565(10) A, and beta = 96.46(4) degrees for 1 and a = 13.854(3) A, b = 17.469(4) A, c = 12.543(3) A, and beta = 116.22(3) degrees for 3. The structures of 1 and 3 consist of dinuclear ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-oa))2+ and ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-dpoa))2+ cations and hexafluorophosphate anions. Each nickel in 1-3 is five-coordinate, and the substitution of the hydrogen atom of the amidate nitrogen of 1 by a methyl (2) or a phenyl (3) group causes a significant modification of the stereochemistry of the nickel(II) ions from square pyramidal toward trigonal bipyramidal (tau values of 0.12 and 0.48 for 1 and 3, respectively). The NOESY spectrum of 3 has allowed us to achieve the assignment of the phenyl protons of the N,N'-diphenyloxamidate. The value of magnetic coupling between the two nickel(II) ions across the oxamidate bridge [J = -57.0 (oa, 1), -38.0 (dmoa, 2) and -30.5 cm(-1) (dpoa, 3)] is very sensitive to this stereochemical change, and its variation is explained on the basis of orbital considerations. DFT type calculations have been performed to analyze and substantiate the trend of the magnetic coupling in 1-3.  相似文献
