We used a micro-Raman spectrometer with two different laser excitation sources (514 and 785 nm) and variable laser powers to identify some uranium chemical species contained in airborne particulate matter. In the first part of this paper, we demonstrate that characteristic Raman bands mentioned in the literature for several uranium compounds relevant in the nuclear industry (UO2, UO4·(4H2O), U3O8, UO2F2 and UF4) can be identified in particles in the few μm to 30 μm size range. In the second part of the paper, we describe a method to carry out Raman analysis on airborne uranium particles sampled along with a majority of other kinds of particles simply by dabbing adhesive carbon disks on dusty surfaces. This methodology involves an SEM equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray analyser and software for automated detection of particles specifically to locate uranium particles on the substrate before the Raman analysis. Then the sample holder is transferred to the micro-Raman spectrometer and particles are relocated using landmarks and simple geometric calculations. Raman analyses are carried out with the laser that gives the best signal to noise ratio. With such a method particles as small as 5 μm can be efficiently analysed, although most of the smaller particles cannot be analysed due to limited precision of the relocation process. This methodology was successfully applied to 20 particles collected in a nuclear facility.  相似文献

The stability of synthetic Jarosite (KFe3(SO4)2(OH)6) at low temperature and reduced atmospheric pressure has been studied by Raman spectroscopy. Jarosite remains stable between 8 and 295 K, provided that the sample is not exposed to reduced atmospheric pressure. When exposed to reduced atmospheric pressure (2.0 × 10?2 Torr), however, the conversion of Jarosite into a different mineral is readily detected at room temperature by the appearance of a new Raman peak. The Raman shift of this peak (1032 cm?1) matches with that of Yavapaiite (KFe(SO4)2), which can be obtained by thermal decomposition of Jarosite above 473 K. These studies provide a better understanding of the stability of Jarosite subjected to conditions similar to that on the surface of Mars.  相似文献

The electrochemical corrosion of carbon catalyst supports in polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells is investigated by monitoring the generation of CO2 using an on-line mass spectrometer at a constant potential of 1.4 V. Our results suggest that carbon supports with a high degree of graphitization are more corrosion-resistant, which results in a dramatic improvement of the catalyst durability. We also show that CO2 measurements performed using on-line mass spectrometry represent a time-effective and reliable method for studying the electrochemical corrosion of carbon supports in PEM fuel cells.  相似文献

The paper presents the study of selected montmorillonite standards by Raman spectroscopy and microscopy supported by elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction analysis and thermal analysis. Dispersive Raman spectroscopy with excitation lasers of 532 nm and 780 nm, dispersive Raman microscopy with excitation laser of 532 nm and 100× magnifying lens, and Fourier Transform-Raman spectroscopy with excitation laser of 1064 nm were used for the analysis of four montmorillonites (Kunipia-F, SWy-2, STx-1b and SAz-2). These mineral standards differed mainly in the type of interlayer cation and substitution of octahedral aluminium by magnesium or iron. A comparison of measured Raman spectra of montmorillonite with regard to their level of fluorescence and the presence of characteristic spectral bands was carried out. Almost all measured spectra of montmorillonites were significantly affected by fluorescence and only one sample was influenced by fluorescence slightly or not at all. In the spectra of tested montmorillonites, several characteristic Raman bands were found. The most intensive band at 96 cm−1 belongs to deformation vibrations of interlayer cations. The band at 200 cm−1 corresponds to deformation vibrations of the AlO6 octahedron and at 710 cm−1 can be assigned to deformation vibrations of the SiO4 tetrahedron. The band at 3620 cm−1 corresponds to the stretching vibration of structural OH groups in montmorillonites.  相似文献

Raman and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy is integrated into a single system for molecular and elemental microanalyses. Both analyses are performed on the same ~ 0.002 mm2 sample spot allowing the assessment of sample heterogeneity on a micrometric scale through mapping and scanning. The core of the spectrometer system is a novel high resolution dual arm Echelle spectrograph utilized for both techniques. In contrast to scanning Raman spectroscopy systems, the Echelle–Raman spectrograph provides a high resolution spectrum in a broad spectral range of 200–6000 cm? 1 without moving the dispersive element. The system displays comparable or better sensitivity and spectral resolution in comparison to a state-of-the-art scanning Raman microscope and allows short analysis times for both Raman and laser induced breakdown spectroscopy. The laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy performance of the system is characterized by ppm detection limits, high spectral resolving power (15,000), and broad spectral range (290–945 nm). The capability of the system is demonstrated with the mapping of heterogeneous mineral samples and layer by layer analysis of pigments revealing the advantages of combining the techniques in a single unified set-up.  相似文献

Polarized Raman spectroscopy was used to study the lattice structure of BiFeO3 films on different substrates prepared by pulsed laser deposition. Interestingly, the Raman spectra of BiFeO3 films exhibit distinct polarization dependences. The symmetries of the fundamental Raman modes in 50–700 cm−1 were identified based on group theory. The symmetries of the high order Raman modes in 900–1500 cm−1 of BiFeO3 are determined for the first time, which can provide strong clarifications to the symmetry of the fundamental peaks in 400–700 cm−1 in return. Moreover, the lattice structures of BiFeO3 films are identified consequently on the basis of Raman spectroscopy. BiFeO3 films on SrRuO3 coated SrTiO3 (0 0 1) substrate, CaRuO3 coated SrTiO3 (0 0 1) substrate and tin-doped indium oxide substrate are found to be in the rhombohedral structure, while BiFeO3 film on SrRuO3 coated Nb: SrTiO3 (0 0 1) substrate is in the monoclinic structure. Our results suggest that polarized Raman spectroscopy would be a feasible tool to study the lattice structure of BiFeO3 films.  相似文献

Syngenite (K2Ca(SO4)2·H2O), formed during treatment of manure with sulphuric acid, was studied by infrared, near-infrared (NIR) and Raman spectroscopy. Cs site symmetry was determined for the two sulphate groups in syngenite (P21/m), so all bands are both infrared and Raman active. The split ν1 (two Raman+two infrared bands) was observed at 981 and 1000 cm−1. The split ν2 (four Raman+four infrared bands) was observed in the Raman spectrum at 424, 441, 471 and 491 cm−1. In the infrared spectrum, only one band was observed at 439 cm−1. From the split ν3 (six Raman+six infrared) bands three 298 K Raman bands were observed at 1117, 1138 and 1166 cm−1. Cooling to 77 K resulted in four bands at 1119, 1136, 1144 and 1167 cm−1. In the infrared spectrum, five bands were observed at 1110, 1125, 1136, 1148 and 1193 cm−1. From the split ν4 (six infrared+six Raman bands) four bands were observed in the infrared spectrum at 604, 617, 644 and 657 cm−1. The 298 K Raman spectrum showed one band at 641 cm−1, while at 77 K four bands were observed at 607, 621, 634 and 643 cm−1. Crystal water is observed in the infrared spectrum by the OH-liberation mode at 754 cm−1, OH-bending mode at 1631 cm−1, OH-stretching modes at 3248 (symmetric) and 3377 cm−1 (antisymmetric) and a combination band at 3510 cm−1 of the H-bonded OH-mode plus the OH-stretching mode. The near-infrared spectrum gave information about the crystal water resulting in overtone and combination bands of OH-liberation, OH-bending and OH-stretching modes.  相似文献

The Raman spectra for Sr3(PO4)2 and Ba3(PO4)2 were investigated in the temperature range from 80 to 1623 K at atmospheric pressure. An unexpected melting of each sample was observed around 1573–1583 K in this study. In the temperature range from 80 to 1323 K, the Raman wavenumbers of all observed bands for Sr3(PO4)2 and Ba3(PO4)2 continuously decrease with increasing temperature. A quantitative analysis on the wavenumbers of Raman bands for both samples reveals that the ν3 antisymmetric stretching vibrations show the strongest temperature dependence and the ν2 symmetric bending vibration displays the weakest temperature dependence. The effects of cations on Raman bands are discussed. The reason for the unexpected melting of both samples is mainly attributed to the significant contribution from excess surface energy and the grain-boundary energy that has apparently lowered the melting points of the small samples, i.e., Gibbs–Thomson effect.  相似文献

High pressure Raman spectroscopic measurements on nearly zero thermal expansion material TaO2F are carried out up to 19 GPa. Earlier report of high pressure X-ray diffraction studies shows two phase transitions, one at 0.7 and the other at 4 GPa with rhombohedral (R-3c) structure above 4 GPa, but the structure between 0.7 GPa and 4 GPa remained unclear. In high pressure Raman measurements, a reversible, cubic to rhombohedral phase transformation onsets around 0.8 GPa and gets completed at 4.4 GPa with all four predicted normal modes corresponding to R-3c phase and retaining the structure up to 19 GPa. A mixture of cubic and rhombohedral phases is observed between 0.8 and 4.4 GPa. Optically silent modes in the ambient cubic structure exhibit strong, broad Raman bands due to anionic (O/F) disorder in TaO2F altering the local symmetry and allowing for first order Raman scattering. On compression, these disorder induced first order Raman bands gradually decrease in intensity and disappear around 4.4 GPa due to inhibition of local distortion caused by anions, and the modes corresponding to the rhombohedral phase appear. This is a clear evidence of disorder-free rhombohedral single phase exists above 4.4 GPa in agreement with the reported HPXRD results. Temperature dependent Raman measurements reveal that the intensities of Raman bands remain almost unchanged with rise in temperature indicating static disorder in TaO2F. Disorder-induced first order Raman modes at 176, 212, 381 and 485 cm−1 soften with increase in pressure whereas the other modes show low positive Gruneisen parameter. The thermal expansion coefficient calculated using these Gruneisen parameters (−2.91 ppm K−1) is in fair agreement with the reported values (−1 to +1 ppm K−1). On the other hand, all four modes of disorder-free rhombohedral phase show the usual hardening behavior with increase in pressure contributing to positive thermal expansion.  相似文献

Raman spectra of coquandite Sb6O8(SO4)·(H2O) were studied, and related to the structure of the mineral. Raman bands observed at 970, 990 and 1007 cm?1 and a series of overlapping bands are observed at 1072, 1100, 1151 and 1217 cm?1 are assigned to the SO42? ν1 symmetric and ν3 antisymmetric stretching modes respectively. Raman bands at 629, 638, 690, 751 and 787 cm?1 are attributed to the SbO stretching vibrations. Raman bands at 600 and 610 cm?1 and at 429 and 459 cm?1 are assigned to the SO42? ν4 and ν2 bending modes. Raman bands at 359 and 375 cm?1 are assigned to O–Sb–O bending modes. Multiple Raman bands for both SO42? and SbO stretching vibrations support the concept of the non-equivalence of these units in the coquandite structure.  相似文献

Raman spectra of mineral peretaite Ca(SbO)4(OH)2(SO4)2·2H2O were studied, and related to the structure of the mineral. Raman bands observed at 978 and 980 cm?1 and a series of overlapping bands observed at 1060, 1092, 1115, 1142 and 1152 cm?1 are assigned to the SO42? ν1 symmetric and ν3 antisymmetric stretching modes. Raman bands at 589 and 595 cm?1 are attributed to the SbO symmetric stretching vibrations. The low intensity Raman bands at 650 and 710 cm?1 may be attributed to SbO antisymmetric stretching modes. Raman bands at 610 cm?1 and at 417, 434 and 482 cm?1 are assigned to the SO42? ν4 and ν2 bending modes, respectively. Raman bands at 337 and 373 cm?1 are assigned to O–Sb–O bending modes. Multiple Raman bands for both SO42? and SbO stretching vibrations support the concept of the non-equivalence of these units in the peretaite structure.  相似文献

The BaCo0.7Fe0.3?yNbyO3?δ oxides (BCFNy, y = 0.00–0.12) were synthesized by the conventional solid state reaction process and investigated as a novel cathode for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFCs). Cubic perovskite, with enhanced phase stability at higher Nb concentration, was obtained at y ? 0.04. The unit cell volumes increased with y, reached a maximum at y = 0.10, and then decreased. The niobium doping concentration also had a significant effect on the electrochemical performance of BCFNy materials. Among the various BCFNy oxides tested, BCFN0.10 possessed the smallest interfacial polarization resistance (Rp). The Rp was as low as 0.9406, 0.1300, 0.0211, and 0.0082 Ω cm2 at 500, 600, 700, and 800 °C, respectively. With a 220 μm-thick Sm0.2Ce0.1O1.9 (SDC) as electrolyte and BCFN0.10 as the cathode, a fuel cell provides maximum power densities of 202, 350, 569, 820, and 1006 mW cm?2 at 600, 650, 700, 750, and 800 °C, respectively. The encouraging results suggested that BCFN0.10 was a very promising cathode material for IT-SOFCs.  相似文献

A method for the determination of Cu, As, Se, Cd, In, Hg, Tl, Pb and Bi in waters and in biological materials by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, after an on-line separation, is described. The matrix separation and analyte preconcentration is accomplished by retention of the analytes complexed with the ammonium salt of O,O-diethyl dithiophosphoric acid in a HNO3 solution on C18 immobilized on silica in a minicolumn. Methanol, as eluent, is introduced in the conventional pneumatic nebulizer of the instrument. In order to use the best compromise conditions, concerning the ligand and acid concentrations, the analytes were determined in two separate groups. The enrichment factors were in the range from 5 to 61, depending on the analyte. The limits of detection varied from 0.43 ng L−1 for Bi to 33 ng L−1 for Cu. The sample consumption is only 2.3 mL for each group and the sampling frequency is 21 h−1. The accuracy was tested by analysing five certified reference materials: water, riverine water, urine, bovine muscle and bovine liver. The agreement between obtained and certified concentrations was very good, except for As. The relatively small volume of methanol, used as eluent, minimizes the problems produced by the introduction of organic solvent into the plasma.  相似文献

The (p, ρ, T) properties and apparent molar volumes V? of ZnBr2 in ethanol at temperatures (293.15 to 393.15) K and pressures up to p = 40 MPa are reported. The measurements were made with a recently developed vibration-tube densimeter. The system was calibrated using double-distilled water, methanol, ethanol, and aqueous NaCl solutions. The experiments were carried out at molalities of m = (0.05681, 0.16958, 0.30426, 0.43835, 0.93055, 1.49016, and 1.88723) mol · kg?1 using zinc bromide. An empirical correlation for the density of (ZnBr2 + C2H5OH) with pressure, temperature, and molality has been derived. This equation of state was used to calculate other volumetric properties such as isothermal compressibility, isobaric thermal expansibility, the differences in specific heat capacities at constant pressures and volumes, apparent molar volumes of ZnBr2 in ethanol, and partial molar volumes of both components.  相似文献

Cobalt-free perovskite oxide La0.5Sr0.5Fe0.8Cu0.2O3  δ (LSFC) was applied as both anode and cathode for symmetrical solid oxide fuel cells (SSOFCs). The LSFC shows a reversible transition between a cubic perovskite phase in air and a mixture of SrFeLaO4, a K2NiF4-type layered perovskite oxide, metallic Cu and LaFeO3 in reducing atmosphere at elevated temperature. The average thermal expansion coefficient of LSFC in air is 17.7 × 10 6 K 1 at 25 °C to 900 °C. By adopting LSFC as initial electrodes to fabricate electrolyte supported SSOFCs, the cells generate maximum power output of 1054, 795 and 577 mW cm 2 with humidified H2 fuel (~ 3% H2O) and 895, 721 and 482 mW cm 2 with humidified syngas fuel (H2:CO = 1:1) at 900, 850 and 800 °C, respectively. Moreover, the cell with humidified H2 fuel demonstrates a reasonable stability at 800 °C under 0.7 V for 100 h.  相似文献

Solid carbon was investigated as the fuel for an intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC). An innovative, indirect operating method involving internal catalytic gasification of carbon to gaseous carbon monoxide via the reverse Boudouard reaction (C(s) + CO2(g)  2CO(g)) was proposed. The carbon gasification reaction rate was greatly enhanced by adopting FemOn–MxO (M = Li, K, Ca) as a catalyst. A peak power density of ~297 mW cm?2 was achieved at 850 °C for an anode-supported SOFC with scandium-stabilized zirconia electrolyte and a La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 cathode by applying a catalyst-loaded, activated carbon as fuel. This peak power density was only modestly lower than that obtained using gaseous hydrogen as the fuel.  相似文献

We measured 785 nm excited Raman and infrared spectra of pentacene-d14. The observed spectra were assigned on the basis of the Raman and infrared spectra calculated by the density functional theory (DFT) method at the B3LYP/6⬜311 + G** level. We measured 785 nm excited Raman spectrum of a pentacne-d14:C60 bulk heterojunction film. The spectrum was assigned on the basis of the wavenumber shifts upon deuteration of pentacene. The assignments of the 1462 and 493 cm↙1 Ag bands of C60 were confirmed. The 511, 453, and 256 cm↙1 bands, which were observed only in pentacene:C60 bulk heterojunction films, did not show large deuteration shifts. This result indicates that the 511, 453, and 256 cm↙1 bands are attributed to activation of the silent modes of C60 due to symmetry lowering.  相似文献

Mixed alkali borotungstate glasses with xLi2O–(30  x)Na2O–10WO3–60B2O3 (0  x  30) composition were prepared by melt quench technique. FT-IR and Raman spectroscopic studies were employed to investigate the structure of all the prepared glasses. Acting as complementary techniques, both IR and Raman measurements revealed that the network structure of the present glasses mainly based on BO3 and BO4 units placed in different structural groups. Raman spectra confirm the IR results regarding the presence of tungsten ions mainly as WO6 groups. In the present work, the mixed alkali effect (MAE) has been investigated in the above glass system using FTIR and Raman studies.  相似文献

The Bi2Sn2O7 pyrochlore is known to undergo a sequence of structural phase transitions with an increase in temperature. Raman spectroscopy was employed in the investigation of the temperature dependence of the active phonons in the Raman spectrum. We observed 19 broad modes at room temperature, reflecting the low symmetry of the α-phase of Bi2Sn2O7. The modes were discussed in relation to the Raman spectra of other pyrochlore-based oxides. The temperature dependence of the phonons evidences the α  β structural phase transition observed near 127 °C.  相似文献
