An approximation procedure for the solution of stochastic nonlinear equations, which was derived from a variational principle in a previous paper, is applied to the problem of a particle that diffuses in a symmetric bistable potential starting from the point of unstable equilibrium. The second moment and variance for the particle's position are calculated as functions of the timet. Good agreement is found with results recently obtained by Baibuzet al. from an approximate evaluation of a path integral expression for the probability density.  相似文献

A Yangian , a deformation of the universal enveloping algebra of the two-dimensional loop algebra sl(2) C [t –1,t;u], is constructed. This deformation is an analogue of a Yangian which was constructed by V. Drinfeld for any simple Lie algebra. The PBW theorem for is proved and some representations are constructed. Like usual Yangians, possesses a one-dimensional group of auto- morphisms and at zero level - a two-dimensional group of automorphisms. This observation allows one to conjecture that the representation theory of should give rise to new solutions of QYBE.Yangians of other affine algebras can be constructed similarly and they enjoy similar properties.  相似文献

Moment maps are defined from the space of rank-r deformations of a fixedn xn matrixA to the duals of the positive half of the loop algebras . These maps are shown to give rise to the same invariant manifolds under Hamiltonian flow obtained through the Adler-Kostant-Symes theorem from the rings of invariant functions. The approach to isospectral Hamiltonian flow introduced in part I is further developed to include integration of flows with singular spectral curves. The flow on finite dimensional Ad*-invariant Poisson submanifolds of the dual of the positive part of the loop algebra is obtained through a generalization of the standard method of linearization on the Jacobi variety of the invariant spectral curveS. These curves are embedded in the total space of a line bundleTP 1(C), allowing an explicit analysis of singularities arising from the structure of the image of a moment map from the space of rank-r deformations of a fixedN×N matrixA. It is shown how the linear flow of line bundles over a suitably desingularized curve may be used to determine both the flow of matricial polynomialsL() and the Hamiltonian flow in the spaceM N,r×MN,r in terms of -functions. The resulting flows are proved to be completely integrable. The reductions to subalgebras developed in part I are shown to correspond to invariance of the spectral curves and line bundles under certain linear or anti-linear involutions. In Rodríguez and van Kampen's 1976 paper a method of extracting information from the Fokker-Planck equation without having to solve the equation is outlined. The Fokker-Planck equation for a Duffing oscillator excited by white noise is expanded about the intensity of the forcing function. In Weinstein and Benaroya, the effect of the order of expansion is investigated by carrying the expansion to a higher order. The effect of varying the system parameters is also investigated. All results are verified by comparison to Monte Carlo experiments. In this paper, the van Kampen expansion is modified and applied to the case of a Duffing oscillator excited by colored noise. The effect of the correlation time is investigated. Again the results are compared to those of Monte Carlo experiments. It is found that the expansion compares closely with those of the Monte Carlo experiments as the correlation time c is varied from 0.001 to 10 sec. Examination of the results reveals that the colored noise can be categorized in one of four ways: (1) for the noise can be considered as white for all intents and purposes, (2) for the noise can be considered white for some purposes, (3) for the correlated nature of the noise must be considered in an analysis, and (4) for the noise can be considered as deterministic.  相似文献

The Pauli exclusion principle was tested by searching with accelerator mass spectrometry for non-Paulian atoms with three electrons in theK-shell and for non-Paulian nuclei with three protons or three neutrons in the nuclear 1 s1/2 shell. For non-Paulian atoms of and the following limits have been obtained: and . For non-Paulian nuclei of and with three protons or three neutrons, respectively, in the nuclear 1 s1/2 shell the following limits have been measured: for a range of proton separation energies of between 0 and 50 MeV and for neutron separation energies between 0 and 32 MeV. The result for5Li is used to deduce a limit for the probability 2/2 of finding two colliding protons in the symmetric state with respect to exchange to be 2/2<>–32.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. P. We wish to study the construction of charge-carrying fields given the representation of the observable algebra in the sector of states of zero charge. It is shown that the set of those covariant sectors which can be obtained from the vacuum sector by acting with localized automorphisms has the structure of a discrete Abelian group. An algebra of fields can be defined on the Hilbert space of a representation of the observable algebra which contains each of the above sectors exactly once. The dual group of acts as a gauge group on in such a way that is the gauge invariant part of is made up of Bose and Fermi fields and is determined uniquely by the commutation relations between spacelike separated fields.  相似文献

We study analogues of the Yangian of the Lie algebra for the other classical Lie algebras and . We call them twisted Yangians. They are coideal subalgebras in the Yangian of and admit homomorphisms onto the universal enveloping algebras U( ) and U( ) respectively. In every twisted Yangian we construct a family of maximal commutative subalgebras parametrized by the regular semisimple elements of the corresponding classical Lie algebra. The images in U( ) and U( ) of these subalgebras are also maximal commutative.  相似文献

We consider eigenvalue problems in quantum mechanics in one dimension. Hamiltonians contain a class of double well potential terms, x +x , for example. The space coordinate is continued to a complex plane and the connection problem of fundamental system of solutions is considered. A hidden U ( (2 1)) structure arises in fusion relations of Stokes multipliers. With this observation, we derive coupled nonlinear integral equations which characterize the spectral properties of both ± potentials simultaneously.  相似文献

A moment map is constructed from the Poisson manifold A of rank-r perturbations of a fixedN×N matrixA to the dual of the positive part of the formal loop algebra =gl(r)[[, –1]]. The Adler-Kostant-Symes theorem is used to give hamiltonians which generate commutative isospectral flows on . The pull-back of these hamiltonians by the moment map gives rise to commutative isospectral hamiltonian flows in A. The latter may be identified with flows on finite dimensional coadjoint orbits in and linearized on the Jacobi variety of an invariant spectral curveX r which, generically, is anr-sheeted Riemann surface. Reductions of A are derived, corresponding to subalgebras ofgl(r, ) andsl(r, ), determined as the fixed point set of automorphism groupes generated by involutions (i.e., all the classical algebras), as well as reductions to twisted subalgebras of . The average density of zeros for monic generalized polynomials, , with real holomorphic ,f k and real Gaussian coefficients is expressed in terms of correlation functions of the values of the polynomial and its derivative. We obtain compact expressions for both the regular component (generated by the complex roots) and the singular one (real roots) of the average density of roots. The density of the regular component goes to zero in the vicinity of the real axis like |lmz|. We present the low- and high-disorder asymptotic behaviors. Then we particularize to the large-n limit of the average density of complex roots of monic algebraic polynomials of the form with real independent, identically distributed Gaussian coefficients having zero mean and dispersion . The average density tends to a simple,universal function of =2nlog|z| and in the domain coth(/2)n|sin arg(z)|, where nearly all the roots are located for largen.  相似文献
