Let $\mathbb{K }$ be a field of characteristic zero. We describe an algorithm which requires a homogeneous polynomial $F$ of degree three in $\mathbb{K }[x_{0},x_1,x_{2},x_{3}]$ and a zero ${\mathbf{a }}$ of $F$ in $\mathbb{P }^{3}_{\mathbb{K }}$ and ensures a linear Pfaffian representation of $\text{ V}(F)$ with entries in $\mathbb{K }[x_{0},x_{1},x_{2},x_{3}]$ , under mild assumptions on $F$ and ${\mathbf{a }}$ . We use this result to give an explicit construction of (and to prove the existence of) a linear Pfaffian representation of $\text{ V}(F)$ , with entries in $\mathbb{K }^{\prime }[x_{0},x_{1},x_{2},x_{3}]$ , being $\mathbb{K }^{\prime }$ an algebraic extension of $\mathbb{K }$ of degree at most six. An explicit example of such a construction is given.  相似文献

Let p be a prime and let $\varphi\in\mathbb{Z}_{p}[x_{1},x_{2},\ldots, x_{p}]$ be a symmetric polynomial, where  $\mathbb {Z}_{p}$ is the field of p elements. A sequence T in  $\mathbb {Z}_{p}$ of length p is called a φ-zero sequence if φ(T)=0; a sequence in $\mathbb {Z}_{p}$ is called a φ-zero free sequence if it does not contain any φ-zero subsequence. Motivated by the EGZ theorem for the prime p, we consider symmetric polynomials $\varphi\in \mathbb {Z}_{p}[x_{1},x_{2},\ldots, x_{p}]$ , which satisfy the following two conditions: (i) every sequence in  $\mathbb {Z}_{p}$ of length 2p?1 contains a φ-zero subsequence, and (ii) the φ-zero free sequences in  $\mathbb {Z}_{p}$ of maximal length are all those containing exactly two distinct elements, where each element appears p?1 times. In this paper, we determine all symmetric polynomials in $\mathbb {Z}_{p}[x_{1},x_{2},\ldots, x_{p}]$ of degree not exceeding 3 satisfying the conditions above.  相似文献

A problem of Carlitz and its generalizations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let ${\mathbb{F}_q}$ be the finite field of characteristic p > 2 with q elements. Carlitz proposed the problem of finding an explicit formula for the number of solutions to the equation $$(x_1+ x_2+\cdots+x_n)^2=a\, x_1x_2\cdots x_n,$$ where ${a\in \mathbb{F}_q^*}$ and n ≥ 3. By using the augmented degree matrix and Gauss sums, we consider the generalizations of the above equation and partially solve Carlitz’s problem. Moreover, the technique developed in this paper may be applied to other equations of the form ${h_1^\lambda=h_2}$ with ${h_1, h_2 \in \mathbb{F}_q[x_1,\ldots,x_n]}$ and ${\lambda \in \mathbb{N}}$ .  相似文献

Let $\alpha $ and $\beta $ be real numbers such that $1$ , $\alpha $ and $\beta $ are linearly independent over $\mathbb {Q}$ . A classical result of Dirichlet asserts that there are infinitely many triples of integers $(x_0,x_1,x_2)$ such that $|x_0+\alpha x_1+\beta x_2| < \max \{|x_1|,|x_2|\}^{-2}$ . In 1976, Schmidt asked what can be said under the restriction that $x_1$ and $x_2$ be positive. Upon denoting by $\gamma \cong 1.618$ the golden ratio, he proved that there are triples $(x_0,x_1,x_2) \in \mathbb {Z}^3$ with $x_1,x_2>0$ for which the product $|x_0 + \alpha x_1 + \beta x_2| \max \{|x_1|,|x_2|\}^\gamma $ is arbitrarily small. Although Schmidt later conjectured that $\gamma $ can be replaced by any number smaller than $2$ , Moshchevitin proved very recently that it cannot be replaced by a number larger than $1.947$ . In this paper, we present a construction of points $(1,\alpha ,\beta )$ showing that the result of Schmidt is in fact optimal. These points also possess strong additional Diophantine properties that are described in the paper.  相似文献

We introduce vanishing generalized Morrey spaces ${V\mathcal{L}^{p,\varphi}_\Pi (\Omega), \Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^n}$ with a general function ${\varphi(x, r)}$ defining the Morrey-type norm. Here ${\Pi \subseteq \Omega}$ is an arbitrary subset in Ω including the extremal cases ${\Pi = \{x_0\}, x_0 \in \Omega}$ and Π = Ω, which allows to unify vanishing local and global Morrey spaces. In the spaces ${V\mathcal{L}^{p,\varphi}_\Pi (\mathbb{R}^n)}$ we prove the boundedness of a class of sublinear singular operators, which includes Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and Calderon-Zygmund singular operators with standard kernel. We also prove a Sobolev-Spanne type ${V\mathcal{L}^{p,\varphi}_\Pi (\mathbb{R}^n) \rightarrow V\mathcal{L}^{q,\varphi^\frac{q}{p}}_\Pi (\mathbb{R}^n)}$ -theorem for the potential operator I α . The conditions for the boundedness are given in terms of Zygmund-type integral inequalities on ${\varphi(x, r)}$ . No monotonicity type condition is imposed on ${\varphi(x, r)}$ . In case ${\varphi}$ has quasi- monotone properties, as a consequence of the main results, the conditions of the boundedness are also given in terms of the Matuszeska-Orlicz indices of the function ${\varphi}$ . The proofs are based on pointwise estimates of the modulars defining the vanishing spaces  相似文献

We investigate spectral properties of operators of the form $$\begin{aligned} P_\mu f(z):=-\frac{1}{(1-z)^{\mu +1}}\int _1^z f(\zeta )(1-\zeta )^{\mu }\,d\zeta \end{aligned}$$ and $$\begin{aligned} Q_\mu f(z):=(1-z)^{\mu -1}\int _0^z f(\zeta )(1-\zeta )^{-\mu }\,d\zeta \quad (z\in \mathbb{D }) \end{aligned}$$ acting on the analytic Besov spaces $B_p$ and the little Bloch space $\mathcal B _0$ . For $X=B_p$ , $1\le p\le \infty $ , or $X=\mathcal B _0$ , we identify the spectra of $P_\mu $ and $Q_\mu $ in $\mathcal{L }(X)$ , as well as, in the case $X\ne B_\infty $ , the essential spectrum and index together with one sided analytic resolvents in the Fredholm regions of $P_\mu $ and $Q_\mu $ .  相似文献

In order to interpolate 2n?+?1 points on the unit hypersphere $ \mathcal{S}^{d-1}$ with a vector-valued rational function, we use the Generalised Inverse Rational Interpolants (GIRI) of Graves?CMorris. The construction process of these Thiele type rational interpolants is based on the Samelson??s inverse for vectors. We show that in general any GIRI of 2n?+?1 points of $ \mathcal{S}^{d-1}$ lies on $ \mathcal{S}^{d-1}$ . We also show that the stereographic projection induces a one-to-one correspondence between the set of vector-valued rational functions lying on $ \mathcal{S}^{d-1}$ and the set of Generalised Inverse Rational Fractions in the equator plane.  相似文献

In this paper we consider solutions of the Weinstein equation $$\begin{aligned} \Delta u-\frac{k}{x_{n}}\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_{n}}+\frac{\ell }{ x_{n}^{2}}u=0, \end{aligned}$$ on some open subset $\Omega \subset \mathbb R ^{n}\cap \{x_{n}>0\}$ subject to the conditions $4\ell \le (k+1)^{2}$ . If $l=0$ , the operator $x_{n}^{2k/n-2}\left( \Delta u-\frac{k}{x_{n}}\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_{n}}\right) $ is the Laplace–Beltrami operator with respect to the Riemannian metric $ds^{2}=x_{n}^{-2k/n-2}\left( \sum _{i=1}^{n}dx_{i} ^{2}\right) $ . In case $k=n-2$ the Riemannian metric is the hyperbolic distance of Poincaré upper half space. The Weinstein equation is connected to the axially symmetric potentials. The solutions of of the Weinstein equation form a so-called Brelot harmonic space and therefore it is known they satisfy the mean value properties with respect to the harmonic measure. We present the explicit mean value properties which give a formula for a harmonic measure evaluated in the center point of the hyperbolic ball. The key idea is to transform the solutions to the eigenfunctions of the Laplace–Beltrami operator in the Poincaré upper half-space model.  相似文献

Let ${\phi}$ be a rational function of degree at least two defined over a number field k. Let ${a \in \mathbb{P}^1(k)}$ and let K be a number field containing k. We study the cardinality of the set of rational iterated preimages Preim ${(\phi, a, K) = \{x_{0} \in \mathbb{P}^1(K) | \phi^{N} (x_0) = a {\rm for some} N \geq 1\}}$ . We prove two new results (Theorems 2 and 4) bounding ${|{\rm Preim}(\phi, a, K)|}$ as ${\phi}$ varies in certain families of rational functions. Our proofs are based on unit equations and a method of Runge for effectively determining integral points on certain affine curves. We also formulate and state a uniform boundedness conjecture for Preim ${(\phi, a, K)}$ and prove that a version of this conjecture is implied by other well-known conjectures in arithmetic dynamics.  相似文献

We study the structure of a metric n-Lie algebra G over the complex field C. Let G = SR be the Levi decomposition, where R is the radical of G and S is a strong semisimple subalgebra of G. Denote by m(G) the number of all minimal ideals of an indecomposable metric n-Lie algebra and R ⊥ the orthogonal complement of R. We obtain the following results. As S-modules, R ⊥ is isomorphic to the dual module of G/R. The dimension of the vector space spanned by all nondegenerate invariant symmetric bilinear forms on G is equal to that of the vector space of certain linear transformations on G; this dimension is greater than or equal to m(G) + 1. The centralizer of R in G is equal to the sum of all minimal ideals; it is the direct sum of R ⊥ and the center of G. Finally, G has no strong semisimple ideals if and only if R⊥■R.  相似文献

Let ${\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{N}}$ be a Lipschitz domain and Γ be a relatively open and non-empty subset of its boundary ${\partial\Omega}$ . We show that the solution to the linear first-order system $$\nabla \zeta = G\zeta, \, \, \zeta|_\Gamma = 0 \quad \quad \quad (1)$$ is unique if ${G \in \textsf{L}^{1}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{(N \times N) \times N})}$ and ${\zeta \in \textsf{W}^{1,1}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{N})}$ . As a consequence, we prove $$||| \cdot ||| : \textsf{C}_{o}^{\infty}(\Omega, \Gamma; \mathbb{R}^{3}) \rightarrow [0, \infty), \, \, u \mapsto \parallel {\rm sym}(\nabla uP^{-1})\parallel_{\textsf{L}^{2}(\Omega)}$$ to be a norm for ${P \in \textsf{L}^{\infty}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3 \times 3})}$ with Curl ${P \in \textsf{L}^{p}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3 \times 3})}$ , Curl ${P^{-1} \in \textsf{L}^{q}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3 \times 3})}$ for some p, q > 1 with 1/p + 1/q = 1 as well as det ${P \geq c^+ > 0}$ . We also give a new and different proof for the so-called ‘infinitesimal rigid displacement lemma’ in curvilinear coordinates: Let ${\Phi \in \textsf{H}^{1}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3})}$ satisfy sym ${(\nabla\Phi^\top\nabla\Psi) = 0}$ for some ${\Psi \in \textsf{W}^{1,\infty}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3}) \cap \textsf{H}^{2}(\Omega; \mathbb{R}^{3})}$ with det ${\nabla\Psi \geq c^+ > 0}$ . Then, there exist a constant translation vector ${a \in \mathbb{R}^{3}}$ and a constant skew-symmetric matrix ${A \in \mathfrak{so}(3)}$ , such that ${\Phi = A\Psi + a}$ .  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal {P}_{n}^{d}}$ denote the space of polynomials on ? d of total degree n. In this work, we introduce the space of polynomials ${\mathcal {Q}_{2 n}^{d}}$ such that ${\mathcal {P}_{n}^{d}}\subset {\mathcal {Q}_{2 n}^{d}}\subset\mathcal{P}_{2n}^{d}$ and which satisfy the following statement: Let h be any fixed univariate even polynomial of degree n and $\mathcal{A}$ be a finite set in ? d . Then every polynomial P from the space  ${\mathcal {Q}_{2 n}^{d}}$ may be represented by a linear combination of radial basis functions of the form h(∥x+a∥), $a\in \mathcal{A}$ , if and only if the set $\mathcal{A}$ is a uniqueness set for the space  ${\mathcal {Q}_{2 n}^{d}}$ .  相似文献

A Gizatullin surface is a normal affine surface V over $ \mathbb{C} $ , which can be completed by a zigzag; that is, by a linear chain of smooth rational curves. In this paper we deal with the question of uniqueness of $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ -actions and $ \mathbb{A}^{{\text{1}}} $ -fibrations on such a surface V up to automorphisms. The latter fibrations are in one to one correspondence with $ \mathbb{C}_{{\text{ + }}} $ -actions on V considered up to a “speed change”. Non-Gizatullin surfaces are known to admit at most one $ \mathbb{A}^{1} $ -fibration VS up to an isomorphism of the base S. Moreover, an effective $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ -action on them, if it does exist, is unique up to conjugation and inversion t $ \mapsto $ t ?1 of $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ . Obviously, uniqueness of $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ -actions fails for affine toric surfaces. There is a further interesting family of nontoric Gizatullin surfaces, called the Danilov-Gizatullin surfaces, where there are in general several conjugacy classes of $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ -actions and $ \mathbb{A}^{{\text{1}}} $ -fibrations, see, e.g., [FKZ1]. In the present paper we obtain a criterion as to when $ \mathbb{A}^{{\text{1}}} $ -fibrations of Gizatullin surfaces are conjugate up to an automorphism of V and the base $ S \cong \mathbb{A}^{{\text{1}}} $ . We exhibit as well large subclasses of Gizatullin $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ -surfaces for which a $ \mathbb{C}^{ * } $ -action is essentially unique and for which there are at most two conjugacy classes of $ \mathbb{A}^{{\text{1}}} $ -fibrations over $ \mathbb{A}^{{\text{1}}} $ .  相似文献

An analog of the Falconer distance problem in vector spaces over finite fields asks for the threshold α?>?0 such that ${|\Delta(E)| \gtrsim q}$ whenever ${|E| \gtrsim q^{\alpha}}$ , where ${E \subset {\mathbb {F}}_q^d}$ , the d-dimensional vector space over a finite field with q elements (not necessarily prime). Here ${\Delta(E)=\{{(x_1-y_1)}^2+\dots+{(x_d-y_d)}^2: x,y \in E\}}$ . Iosevich and Rudnev (Trans Am Math Soc 359(12):6127–6142, 2007) established the threshold ${\frac{d+1}{2}}$ , and in Hart et?al. (Trans Am Math Soc 363:3255–3275, 2011) proved that this exponent is sharp in odd dimensions. In two dimensions we improve the exponent to ${\tfrac{4}{3}}$ , consistent with the corresponding exponent in Euclidean space obtained by Wolff (Int Math Res Not 10:547–567, 1999). The pinned distance set ${\Delta_y(E)=\{{(x_1-y_1)}^2+\dots+{(x_d-y_d)}^2: x\in E\}}$ for a pin ${y\in E}$ has been studied in the Euclidean setting. Peres and Schlag (Duke Math J 102:193–251, 2000) showed that if the Hausdorff dimension of a set E is greater than ${\tfrac{d+1}{2}}$ , then the Lebesgue measure of Δ y (E) is positive for almost every pin y. In this paper, we obtain the analogous result in the finite field setting. In addition, the same result is shown to be true for the pinned dot product set ${\Pi_y(E)=\{x\cdot y: x\in E\}}$ . Under the additional assumption that the set E has Cartesian product structure we improve the pinned threshold for both distances and dot products to ${\frac{d^2}{2d-1}}$ . The pinned dot product result for Cartesian products implies the following sum-product result. Let ${A\subset \mathbb F_q}$ and ${z\in \mathbb F^*_q}$ . If ${|A|\geq q^{\frac{d}{2d-1}}}$ then there exists a subset ${E'\subset A\times \dots \times A=A^{d-1}}$ with ${|E'|\gtrsim |A|^{d-1}}$ such that for any ${(a_1,\dots, a_{d-1}) \in E'}$ , $$ |a_1A+a_2A+\dots +a_{d-1}A+zA| > \frac{q}{2}$$ where ${a_j A=\{a_ja:a \in A\},j=1,\dots,d-1}$ . A generalization of the Falconer distance problem is to determine the minimal α?>?0 such that E contains a congruent copy of a positive proportion of k-simplices whenever ${|E| \gtrsim q^{\alpha}}$ . Here the authors improve on known results (for k?>?3) using Fourier analytic methods, showing that α may be taken to be ${\frac{d+k}{2}}$ .  相似文献

Let ${\nu_{d} : \mathbb{P}^{r} \rightarrow \mathbb{P}^{N}, N := \left( \begin{array}{ll} r + d \\ \,\,\,\,\,\, r \end{array} \right)- 1,}$ denote the degree d Veronese embedding of ${\mathbb{P}^{r}}$ . For any ${P\, \in \, \mathbb{P}^{N}}$ , the symmetric tensor rank sr(P) is the minimal cardinality of a set ${\mathcal{S} \subset \nu_{d}(\mathbb{P}^{r})}$ spanning P. Let ${\mathcal{S}(P)}$ be the set of all ${A \subset \mathbb{P}^{r}}$ such that ${\nu_{d}(A)}$ computes sr(P). Here we classify all ${P \,\in\, \mathbb{P}^{n}}$ such that sr(P) <  3d/2 and sr(P) is computed by at least two subsets of ${\nu_{d}(\mathbb{P}^{r})}$ . For such tensors ${P\, \in\, \mathbb{P}^{N}}$ , we prove that ${\mathcal{S}(P)}$ has no isolated points.  相似文献

A double line ${C \subset \mathbb{P}^3}$ is a connected divisor of type (2, 0) on a smooth quadric surface. Fix ${(a, c) \in \mathbb{N}^2\ \backslash\ \{(0, 0)\}}$ . Let ${X \subset \mathbb{P}^3}$ be a general disjoint union of a lines and c double lines. Then X has maximal rank, i.e. for each ${t \in \mathbb{Z}}$ either ${h^1(\mathcal{I}_X(t)) = 0}$ or ${h^0(\mathcal{I}_X(t)) = 0}$ .  相似文献

For q?≥ 3, we let ${\mathcal{S}_q}$ denote the projectivization of the set of symmetric q × q matrices with coefficients in ${\mathbb{C}}$ . We let ${I(x)=(x_{i,j})^{-1}}$ denote the matrix inverse, and we let ${J(x)=(x_{i,j}^{-1})}$ be the matrix whose entries are the reciprocals of the entries of x. We let ${K|\mathcal{S}_q=I\circ J:~\mathcal{S}_q\rightarrow \mathcal{S}_q}$ denote the restriction of the composition I ? J to ${\mathcal{S}_q}$ . This is a birational map whose properties have attracted some attention in statistical mechanics. In this paper we compute the degree complexity of ${K|\mathcal{S}_q}$ , thus confirming a conjecture of Angles d’Auriac et?al. (J Phys A Math Gen 39:3641–3654, 2006).  相似文献

Let $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ be the commuting variety of the Lie algebra $ \mathfrak{g} $ of a connected noncommutative reductive algebraic group G over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. Let $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} $ be the singular locus of $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ and let $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} $ be the locus of points whose G-stabilizers have dimension > rk G. We prove that: (a) $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} $ is a nonempty subset of $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} $ ; (b) $ {\text{codim}}_{{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}} \,{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} = 5 - {\text{max}}\,l{\left( \mathfrak{a} \right)} $ where the maximum is taken over all simple ideals $ \mathfrak{a} $ of $ \mathfrak{g} $ and $ l{\left( \mathfrak{a} \right)} $ is the “lacety” of $ \mathfrak{a} $ ; and (c) if $ \mathfrak{t} $ is a Cartan subalgebra of $ \mathfrak{g} $ and $ \alpha \in \mathfrak{t}^{*} $ root of $ \mathfrak{g} $ with respect to $ \mathfrak{t} $ , then $ \overline{{G{\left( {{\text{Ker}}\,\alpha \times {\text{Ker }}\alpha } \right)}}} $ is an irreducible component of $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} $ of codimension 4 in $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ . This yields the bound $ {\text{codim}}_{{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}} \,{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} \geqslant 5 - {\text{max}}\,l{\left( \mathfrak{a} \right)} $ and, in particular, $ {\text{codim}}_{{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}} \,{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} \geqslant 2 $ . The latter may be regarded as an evidence in favor of the known longstanding conjecture that $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ is always normal. We also prove that the algebraic variety $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ is rational.  相似文献

We consider a real reductive dual pair (G′, G) of type I, with rank ${({\rm G}^{\prime}) \leq {\rm rank(G)}}$ . Given a nilpotent coadjoint orbit ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime} \subseteq \mathfrak{g}^{{\prime}{*}}}$ , let ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime}_\mathbb{C} \subseteq \mathfrak{g}^{{\prime}{*}}_\mathbb{C}}$ denote the complex orbit containing ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}$ . Under some condition on the partition λ′ parametrizing ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}$ , we prove that, if λ is the partition obtained from λ by adding a column on the very left, and ${\mathcal{O}}$ is the nilpotent coadjoint orbit parametrized by λ, then ${\mathcal{O}_\mathbb{C}= \tau (\tau^{\prime -1}(\mathcal{O}_\mathbb{C}^{\prime}))}$ , where ${\tau, \tau^{\prime}}$ are the moment maps. Moreover, if ${chc(\hat\mu_{\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}) \neq 0}$ , where chc is the infinitesimal version of the Cauchy-Harish-Chandra integral, then the Weyl group representation attached by Wallach to ${\mu_{\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}}$ with corresponds to ${\mathcal{O}_\mathbb{C}}$ via the Springer correspondence.  相似文献
