The two closely spaced NH signals in the (1)H NMR spectrum of trans-[Co(en)(2)(OSMe(2))(N(3))](2+) have been reassigned using 2D NMR and other techniques. Thus, the unusual syn to anti (to Co-N(3)) NH rearrangement on base catalyzed substitution of the selectively deuterated complex in ND(3)(l) has been reinterpreted as "normal", with inversion of the effective deprotonation site accompanying the act of substitution. The re-examination of this system required a repeat study of the secondary isotope effect for the acid hydrolysis reaction, previously used to assign syn and anti amine sites, and this has been extended to other solvents (Me(2)SO, MeCN). The relative NH proton exchange rates are also reconsidered. A systematic rate reduction for Me(2)SO substitution is observed for deuterium incorporation into the cis-NH centers, irrespective of whether these are syn or anti, and the effect is much greater in Me(2)SO than in water. The results are interpreted in terms of zero point energy effects and coupled vibrations.  相似文献

Classical electroanalytical techniques and in situ FTIR are used to study the oxidative chemisorption of catechol (o-H(2)Q) and the hydrogen-assisted reductive desorption of catechol-derived adlayers (o-Q((ads))) at nearly defect-free Pt(111) single-crystal electrodes in 0.5 M H(2)SO(4). At near equilibrium conditions (lim(upsilon-->0)) the cyclic voltammetric response does not conform to the behavior expected from classical models of molecular adsorption at electrochemical interfaces. Instead, attractive interactions play a controlling role, i.e., hydrogen-assisted displacement of o-Q((ads)) takes place as an electrochemically reversible two-dimensional (2D) phase transition controlled by collision-nucleation-growth phenomena in the presence of 2 mM o-H(2)Q((aq)). In contrast, different desorption dynamics are observed when the reductive desorption of the adlayers is carried out in clean (0 mM o-H(2)Q((aq)) supporting electrolyte. Donor-acceptor (DA) interactions between the Pt(111)/o-Q((ads)) surface adduct and o-H(2)Q((aq)) are postulated as a possible intervening mechanism leading to the observed differences in the macroscopic electrochemical responses. The results also demonstrate that in aqueous solutions it is thermodynamically feasible to shift the formal oxidation potential of catechol-metal adducts to potentials near those of molecular hydrogen via chemically reversible, nondissociative interactions, taking place as a 2D phase transition.  相似文献

By employing hydrothermal method, six transition metal sulfates containing hydrazine (N(2)H(4)) have been obtained: [M(SO(4))(2)(N(2)H(5))(2)](n) (M = Mn(1), Co(2), Ni(3)) and [M(N(2)H(4))SO(4)](n) (M = Mn(4), Co(5), Ni(6)). Their crystal structures and magnetic properties have been investigated experimentally and theoretically. Compounds 1-3 consist of one-dimensional sulfate bridged homometallic chains with protonated hydrazine molecule as terminal ligand, and compounds 4-6 are hydrazing-sulfate mixed bridged homometallic three-dimensional frameworks. Compounds 1-6 exhibit antiferromagnetic coupling between M(2+) ions, but their magnetic properties differ at low temperatures because of the different single-ion anisotropy and crystal structures. The magnetostructural correlations and the magnetic coupling mechanism are analyzed by density functional theory calculations (DFT).  相似文献

Cis and trans, and syn and anti. isomers are studied by IR and NMR in acetonitrile-d3 solutions. Cis and syn isomers form completely intramolecular N+H…N⇌N…H+N bonds. They show, however, nearly no proton polarizability since the donor and acceptor are electronically conjugated. The trans and anti isomers form intermolecular N+H…N⇌N…H+N bonds showing large proton polarizability.  相似文献

A set of diastereomeric α-sulfanyl-β-amino acid derivatives, which are important building blocks for pharmaceuticals with potent biological activity, are studied by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry. The collision induced dissociation (CID) spectra of [M+H](+), [M+NH(4)](+), [M+Na](+) and [M+Li](+) of the diastereomers were studied, among them the CID of [M+Na](+) and [M+Li](+) showed consistent differences in the relative abundance of characteristic ions that enabled distinction of the anti isomers from syn isomers. The decomposition pathways for the diagnostic ions were arrived at based on high-resolution mass spectrometry data, multiple mass spectrometry data, deuterium labeling experiments and the mass shift in accordance with the substituents located at different places. Loss of (R(1)-C(6)H(4)-CH=NH) and (Cat-NH-SO(2)R(2)) from [M+Cat](+), where Cat=Na and Li, and the product ions as a results of McLafferty rearrangement involving either >S=O or >C=O group were found to be diagnostic. The McLafferty rearrangement product ions involving >S=O group were more abundant in syn isomers while those involving >C=O group were more abundant in anti isomer. The selectivity observed in the decomposition of [M+Li](+) ions was found to be similar to that of [M+Na](+) ions, but in few cases the differences are marginal in the decomposition [M+Li](+) ions.  相似文献

Adenosine (Ado) can accept three protons, at N1, N3, and N7, to give H(3) (Ado)(3+) , and thus has three macro acidity constants. Unfortunately, these constants do not reflect the real basicity of the N sites due to internal repulsions, for example, between (N1)H(+) and (N7)H(+). However, these macroconstants are still needed for the evaluations and the first two are taken from our own earlier work, that is, pK(H)(H(3))((Ado)) = -4.02 and pK(H)(H(2))((Ado)) = -1.53; the third one was re-measured as pK(H)(H)((Ado)) = 3.64 ± 0.02 (25 °C; I=0.5 M, NaNO(3)), because it is the main basis for evaluating the intrinsic basicities of N7 and N3. Previously, contradicting results had been published for the micro acidity constant of the (N7)H(+) site; this constant has now been determined in an unequivocal manner, and that of the (N3)H(+) site was obtained for the first time. The micro acidity constants, which describe the release of a proton from an (N)H(+) site under conditions for which the other nitrogen atoms are free and do not carry a proton, decrease in the order pk(N7-N1)(N7(Ado)N1·H)) = 3.63 ± 0.02 > pk(N7-N1)(H·N7(Ado)N1) = 2.15 ± 0.15 > pk(N3-N1,N7)(H·N3(Ado)N1,N7) =1.5 ± 0.3, reflecting the decreasing basicity of the various nitrogen atoms, that is, N1>N7>N3. Application of the above-mentioned microconstants allows one to calculate the percentages (formation degrees) of the tautomers formed for monoprotonated adenosine, H(Ado)(+) , in aqueous solution; the results are 96.1, 3.2, and 0.7% for N7(Ado)N1·H(+), (+)H·N7(Ado)N1, and (+)H·N3(Ado)N1,N7, respectively. These results are in excellent agreement with theoretical DFT calculations. Evidently, H(Ado)(+) exists to the largest part as N7(Ado)N1·H(+) having the proton located at N1; the two other tautomers are minority species, but they still form. These results are not only meaningful for adenosine itself, but are also of relevance for nucleic acids and adenine nucleotides, as they help to understand their metal ion-binding properties; these aspects are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Kinetic studies aimed at determining the most probable mechanism for the proton-dependent [Fe(II)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))](+) (1) promoted reduction of superoxide via a thiolate-ligated hydroperoxo intermediate [Fe(III)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))(OOH)](+) (2) are described. Rate laws are derived for three proposed mechanisms, and it is shown that they should conceivably be distinguishable by kinetics. For weak proton donors with pK(a(HA)) > pK(a(HO(2))) rates are shown to correlate with proton donor pK(a), and display first-order dependence on iron, and half-order dependence on superoxide and proton donor HA. Proton donors acidic enough to convert O(2)(-) to HO(2) (in tetrahydrofuran, THF), that is, those with pK(a(HA)) < pK(a(HO(2))), are shown to display first-order dependence on both superoxide and iron, and rates which are independent of proton donor concentration. Relative pK(a) values were determined in THF by measuring equilibrium ion pair acidity constants using established methods. Rates of hydroperoxo 2 formation displays no apparent deuterium isotope effect, and bases, such as methoxide, are shown to inhibit the formation of 2. Rate constants for p-substituted phenols are shown to correlate linearly with the Hammett substituent constants σ(-). Activation parameters ((ΔH(++) = 2.8 kcal/mol, ΔS(++) = -31 eu) are shown to be consistent with a low-barrier associative mechanism that does not involve extensive bond cleavage. Together, these data are shown to be most consistent with a mechanism involving the addition of HO(2) to 1 with concomitant oxidation of the metal ion, and reduction of superoxide (an "oxidative addition" of sorts), in the rate-determining step. Activation parameters for MeOH- (ΔH(++) = 13.2 kcal/mol and ΔS(++) = -24.3 eu), and acetic acid- (ΔH(++) = 8.3 kcal/mol and ΔS(++) = -34 eu) promoted release of H(2)O(2) to afford solvent-bound [Fe(III)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))(OMe)](+) (3) and [Fe(III)(S(Me2)N(4)(tren))(O(H)Me)](+) (4), respectively, are shown to be more consistent with a reaction involving rate-limiting protonation of an Fe(III)-OOH, than with one involving rate-limiting O-O bond cleavage. The observed deuterium isotope effect (k(H)/k(D) = 3.1) is also consistent with this mechanism.  相似文献

N2-hydroxyisocytosine and 1-methyl-N2-hydroxyisocytosine were studied using a matrix isolation technique combined with infrared absorption spectroscopy. For N2-hydroxyisocytosine isolated in an Ar matrix (at 10 K), two imino-oxo isomers, one with the hydroxyimino =N-OH group directed toward the N1-H group (the form called further anti) and the second with the =N-OH group directed toward N3-H (syn), were observed in the ratio 1.4:1. The syn isomer is converted totally to the anti form after UV (lambda > 295 nm) irradiation of the matrix. A small amount of the N(3)H-hydroxy-amino tautomer of N2-hydroxyisocytosine was also detected in the matrix. This form did not react photochemically. For 1-methyl-N2-hydroxyisocytosine, only the syn form of the imino-oxo tautomer was observed after deposition of the matrix. UV (lambda > 295 nm) irradiation induced a photoreaction converting this isomer into the anti form. After 15% of the starting material had been converted into the product, a photostationary state was achieved, and no further progress of the reaction was observed. Subsequent UV irradiation (lambda > 335 nm) caused a back reaction, leading to a disappearance of the anti form and to the recovery of the initial syn isomer. All isomers were identified by comparing their experimental IR spectra with the spectra theoretically calculated at the DFT(B3LYP)/6-31G(d,p) level, where DFT is the density functional theory. Good agreement between the observed and predicted patterns of the spectral lines allowed for reliable identification. The experimental IR spectra were interpreted and discussed. The relative energies of the 12 isomers of N2-hydroxyisocytosine were calculated at the MP2/6-31G(d,p) and MP4//MP2/6-31G(d,p) levels. For six isomers of 1-methyl-N2-hydroxyisocytosine, the calculations were carried out at the MP2/6-31G(d,p) level. The anti form of the imino-oxo tautomer of N-hydroxyisocytosine and the syn form of the imino-oxo tautomer of 1-methyl-N2-hydroxyisocytosine were predicted to be the most stable.  相似文献

Density functional theory is used to study the hydrogen bonding pattern in cytosine, which does not contain alternating proton donor and acceptor sites and therefore is unique compared with the other pyrimidines. Complexes between various small molecules (HF, H(2)O, and NH(3)) and four main binding sites in (neutral and (N1) anionic) cytosine are considered. Two complexes (O2(N1) and N3(N4)) involve neighboring cytosine proton acceptor and donor sites, which leads to cooperative interactions and bidendate hydrogen bonds. The third (less stable) complex (N4) involves a single cytosine donor. The final (O2-N3) complex involves two cytosine proton acceptors, which leads to an anticooperative hydrogen bonding pattern for H(2)O and NH(3). On the neutral surface, the anticooperative O2-N3 complex is less stable than those involving bidentate hydrogen bonds, and the H(2)O complex cannot be characterized when diffuse functions are included in the (6-31G(d,p)) basis set. On the contrary, the anionic O2-N3 structure is the most stable complex, while the HF and H(2)O N3(N4) complexes cannot be characterized with diffuse functions. B3LYP and MP2 potential energy surface scans are used to consider the relationship between the water N3(N4) and O2-N3 complexes. These calculations reveal that diffuse functions reduce the conversion barrier between the two complexes on both the neutral and anionic surfaces, where the reduction leads to a (O2-N3) energy plateau on the neutral surface and complete (N3(N4)) complex destabilization on the anionic surface. From these complexes, the effects of hydrogen bonds on the (N1) acidity of cytosine are determined, and it is found that the trends in the effects of hydrogen bonds on the (N1) acidity are similar for all pyrimidines.  相似文献

The reaction of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate with the maleonitrile containing Schiff base 2,3-bis[(4-diethylamino-2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino]but-2-enedinitrile (salmnt((Et(2)N)(2))H(2)) in methanol produces [UO(2)(salmnt((Et2N)2))(H(2)O)] (1) where the uranyl equatorial coordination plane is completed by the N(2)O(2) tetradentate cavity of the (salmnt((Et(2)N)(2)))(2-) ligand and a water molecule. The coordinated water molecule readily undergoes exchange with pyridine (py), dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) to give a series of [UO(2)(salmnt((Et(2)N)(2)))(L)] complexes (L = py, DMSO, DMF, TPPO; 2-5, respectively). X-Ray crystallography of 1-5 show that the (salmnt((Et(2)N)(2)))(2-) ligand is distorted when coordinated to the uranyl moiety, in contrast to the planar structure observed for the free protonated ligand (salmnt((Et(2)N)(2))H(2)). The Raman spectra of 1-5 only display extremely weak bands (819-828 cm(-1)) that can be assigned to the typically symmetric O=U=O stretch. This stretching mode is also observed in the infrared spectra for all complexes 1-5 (818-826 cm(-1)) predominantly caused by the distortion of the tetradentate (salmnt((Et(2)N)(2)))(2-) ligand about the uranyl equatorial plane resulting in a change in dipole for this bond stretch. The solution behaviour of 2-5 was studied using NMR, electronic absorption and emission spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. Complexes 2-5 exhibit intense absorptions in the visible region of the spectrum due to intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) transitions and the luminescence lifetimes (< 5 ns) indicate the emission arises from ligand-centred excited states. Reversible redox processes assigned to the {UO(2)}(2+)/{UO(2)}(+) couple are observed for complexes 2-5 (2: E(1/2) = -1.80 V; 3,5: E(1/2) = -1.78 V; 4: E(1/2) = -1.81 V : vs. ferrocenium/ferrocene {Fc(+)/Fc}, 0.1 M Bu(4)NPF(6)) in dichloromethane (DCM). These are some of the most negative half potentials for the {UO(2)}(2+)/{UO(2)}(+) couple observed to date and indicate the strong electron donating nature of the (salmnt((Et(2)N)(2)))(2-) ligand. Multiple uranyl redox processes are clearly seen for [UO(2)(salmnt((Et(2)N)(2)))(L)] in L (L = py, DMSO, DMF; 2-4: 0.1 M Bu(4)NPF(6)) indicating the relative instability of these complexes when competing ligands are present, but the reversible {UO(2)}(2+)/{UO(2)}(+) couple for the intact complexes can still be assigned and shows the position of this couple can be modulated by the solvation environment. Several redox processes were also observed between +0.2 and +1.2 V (vs. Fc(+)/Fc) that prove the redox active nature of the maleonitrile-containing ligand.  相似文献

Triarylphosphanes 1 (Ar(3)P; Ar = Ph, 4-MeC(6)H(4)), triphenylarsane (2), and triarylstibanes 3 (Ar(3)Sb; Ar = 2-MeC(6)H(4), 2-MeOC(6)H(4)) reacted with trifluoromethanesulfonamide (7a) in the presence of equimolar diethyl azodicarboxylate to afford the corresponding triaryl(sulfonylimino)pnictoranes [Ar(3)M=NSO(2)CF(3); 8 (M = P), 9 (M = As), 10 (M = Sb)]. The Kirsanov-type reaction of triarylantimony dichlorides 5 (Ar(3)SbCl(2); Ar = 2-MeC(6)H(4), 2-MeOC(6)H(4)) and triarylbismuth dichlorides 6 (Ar(3)BiCl(2); Ar = 2-MeC(6)H(4), 2-MeOC(6)H(4), 2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2)) with sulfonamides 7 (H(2)NSO(2)R; R = CF(3), 4-MeC(6)H(4), Me) in the presence of 2 equiv of potassium tert-butoxide yielded triaryl(sulfonylimino)-lambda(5)-stibanes 10 and -bismuthanes 11, respectively. The ortho-substitution in aryl ligands of 10 and 11 has been found to bring about considerable kinetic stabilization of the reactive Sb=N and Bi=N bonds. A structural comparison was made for a series of triaryl(sulfonylimino)pnictoranes 8-11 by IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. In the IR spectra of 9-11, SO(2) asymmetric stretching absorptions (nu(SO2)) were observed at lower wavenumbers as compared to those of phosphorus counterparts 8. The difference in frequency (Deltanu(SO2)) from 8 increased progressively as the pnictogen element being utilized moved down the group 15 column on the periodic table. X-ray crystallographic analyses of eight of the triaryl(sulfonylimino)pnictoranes prepared confirmed the increasing single-bond character of the M=N bond, with the contribution from the canonical structure M(+)-N=S(O)-O(-) increasing in importance in the order P < As < Sb < Bi. Among all triaryl(sulfonylimino)pnictoranes examined, only imino-lambda(5)-bismuthanes 11 oxidized alcohols to carbonyl compounds.  相似文献

Addition of 2 equiv of LiNMe(2) to the bis(imino)pyridine ferrous dichloride, ((i)(Pr)PDI)FeCl(2) ((i)(Pr)PDI = (2,6-(i)()Pr(2)-C(6)H(3)N=CMe)(2)C(5)H(3)N), resulted in deprotonation of the chelate methyl groups, yielding the bis(enamide)pyridine iron dimethylamine adduct, ((i)(Pr)PDEA)Fe(NHMe(2)) ((i)(Pr)PDEA = (2,6-(i)Pr(2)-C(6)H(3)NC=CH(2))(2)C(5)H(3)N). Performing a similar procedure with KN(SiMe(3))(2) in THF solution afforded the corresponding bis(THF) adduct, ((i)(Pr)PDEA)Fe(THF)(2). ((i)(Pr)PDEA)Fe(NHMe(2)) has also been prepared by addition of the free amine to the iron dialkyl complex, ((i)(Pr)PDI)Fe(CH(2)SiMe(3))(2), implicating formation of a transient iron amide that is sufficiently basic to deprotonate the bis(imino)pyridine methyl groups. Deprotonation of the amine ligand in ((i)(Pr)PDEA)Fe(NHMe(2)) has been accomplished by addition of amide bases to afford the ferrous amide-ate complexes, [((i)(Pr)PDEA)Fe(mu-NMe(2))M] (M = Li, K).  相似文献

The synthesis of (1H-benzimidazol-2-yl-methyl)phosphonic acid, H2(Bimp)+/-, is described: 2-chloromethylbenzimidazole was reacted with ethylchloroformate to give 1-carboethoxy-2-chloromethylbenzimidazole which was treated with trimethyl phosphite and after hydrolysis with aqueous HBr H2(Bimp)+/- was obtained. In H2(Bimp)+/- one proton is at the N-3 site and the other at the phosphonate group; both acidity constants were determined in aqueous solution by potentiometric pH titrations (25 degrees C; I = 0.1 M, NaNO3) and this furnished the pKa values of 5.37 +/- 0.02 and 7.41 +/- 0.02, respectively. The acidity constant for the release of the primary proton from the P(O)(OH)2 group of H3(Bimp)+ was estimated: pKa = 1.5 +/- 0.2. Moreover, Bimp2- can be further deprotonated at its neutral (N-1/N-3)H site to give the benzimidazolate residue, but this reaction occurs only in strongly alkaline solution (KOH); application of the H_ scale developed by G. Yagil (J. Phys. Chem., 1967, 71, 1034) together with UV spectrophotometric measurements gave pKa = 14.65 +/- 0.12. Comparisons with acidity constants taken from the literature show that this latter pKa value is far too large and this allows the conclusion that an intramolecular hydrogen bond is formed between the (N-1/N-3)H site and the phosphonate group of Bimp2-; the formation degree of this hydrogen-bonded isomer is estimated to be 98 +/- 2%. The general relevance of this and the other results are shortly discussed and the species distribution for the Bimp system in dependence on pH is provided.  相似文献

We studied the effects of polar groups on the gas-phase acidities of carboxylic acids experimentally and computationally. In this connection, the gas-phase acidities (DeltaH(acid), the enthalpy of deprotonation, and DeltaG(acid), the deprotonation free energy) of borane-complexed methylaminoacetic acid ((CH(3))2N(BH(3))CH(2)CO(2)H) and methylthioacetic acid (CH(3)S(BH(3))CH(2)CO(2)H) were measured using the kinetic method in a flowing afterglow-triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. The values of DeltaH(acid) and DeltaG(acid) of (CH(3))2N(BH(3))CH(2)CO(2)H were determined to be 328.8 +/- 1.9 and 322.1 +/- 1.9 kcal/mol, and those of CH(3)S(BH(3))CH(2)CO(2)H were determined to be 325.8 +/- 1.9 and 319.2 +/- 1.9 kcal/mol, respectively. The theoretical enthalpies of deprotonation of (CH(3))2N(BH(3))CH(2)CO(2)H (329.2 kcal/mol) and CH(3)S(BH(3))CH(2)CO(2)H (325.5 kcal/mol) were calculated at the B3LYP/6-31+G(d) level of theory. The calculated enthalpies of deprotonation of N-oxide-acetic acid (CH(3)NOCH(2)CO(2)H, 329.4 kcal/mol) and S-oxide-acetic acid (CH(3)SOCH(2)CO(2)H, 328.6 kcal/mol) are comparable to the experimental results for borane-complexed methylamino- and methylthioacetic acids. The enthalpy of deprotonation of sulfone-acetic acid (CH(3)SO2CH(2)CO(2)H, 326.1 kcal/mol) is about 2 kcal/mol lower than the S-oxide-acetic acid. The calculated enthalpy of deprotonation of sulfoniumacetic acid, (CH(3))2S+CH(2)CO(2)H, is 243.0 kcal/mol. Compared to the corresponding reference molecules, CH(3)NHCH(2)CO(2)H and CH(3)SCH(2)CO(2)H, the dipolar group and the monopolar group substituted carboxylic acids are stronger acids by 11-14 and 97 kcal/mol, respectively. We correlated the changes of the acidity upon a polar group substitution to the electrostatic free energy within the carboxylate anion. The acidity enhancements in polar group substituted carboxylic acids are the results of the favorable electrostatic interactions between the polar group and the developing charge at the carboxyl group.  相似文献

The rate of reduction of nitrite by trimethylamine-borane was followed by observing the decrease in nitrite absorbance under pseudo-first-order conditions. The reaction is acid-catalyzed and exhibits a first-order dependence on both amine-borane and total nitrite concentration. The molar equivalence of NaNO(2) to (CH(3))(3)NBH(3) = 2:1. Equimolar amounts of hydrogen and nitrous oxide are formed, and the molar ratio of nitrite reacted to N(2)O produced is 2:1. In concentrated HCl or H(2)SO(4), a correlation of rate with the Hammett acidity function, h(o), is observed. The reaction is subject to a pronounced inversesolvent isotope effect (k(D)()2(O)/k(H)()2(O) approximately 2.7) and a modest normal substrate effect (k((CH)()3())()3(N.BH)()3/k((CH)()3())()3(N.BD)()3 approximately 1.4). The reaction is first-order in H(3)O(+) in the region pH 0.7-2.7, but a second-order dependence is observed above pH 4 with the transition occurring at pH approximately pK(a) for HNO(2). Results are consistent with a mechanistic model involving preequilibration protonation of molecular nitrous acid followed by rate-limiting hydride attack on H(2)ONO(+) or free NO(+) to produce nitrosyl hydride as a reactive intermediate.  相似文献

To investigate the link between molecular structure, reactivity, and partitioning of oxygenated organic compounds in acidic aerosols, the uptake of three compounds found in the atmosphere, methyl vinyl ketone (MVK), methacrolein (MACR), and 2-methyl-3-butene-2-ol (MBO), by sulfuric acid solutions has been measured using a rotated wetted-wall reactor (RWW) coupled to a chemical ionization mass spectrometer (CIMS). MVK was found to partition reversibly into 20-75 wt % H(2)SO(4) solutions, and we report Henry's law coefficients between 20 and 7000 M atm(-1) over this range. A chemical reaction for MVK was likely responsible for the uptake observed for 80-96 wt % H(2)SO(4) solutions. We derive an upper limit to the aldol self-reaction rate coefficient for MVK in 80 wt % solution of approximately 3 M(-1) s(-1). MACR partitioned reversibly over most of the acidity range, and in contrast to that for MVK, the Henry's law coefficient was relatively independent of H(2)SO(4) content. These differences indicate that the increase of the coefficient with acidity is likely due to the ability of the carbonyl molecule to form an enol. These results indicate that aldol condensation can be facile in concentrated sulfuric acid solutions, but it should be negligibly slow in dilute acid solutions such as tropospheric aerosols. MBO uptake could be explained by a Henry's law coefficient that decreases slightly as acid content varies from 20 to 55 wt % H(2)SO(4); we also measured the value in water, 70 M atm(-1) at 298 K. A steady-state uptake of MBO was observed onto 40-80 wt % H(2)SO(4) solutions, a reaction product was observed, and the reaction was tentatively identified as Pinacol rearrangement. Similar rearrangements could be at the origin of some substituted oxygenated species found in atmospheric aerosols.  相似文献

The addition of (P)- and (M)-allenylzinc reagents, prepared in situ through Pd-catalyzed metalation of (R)- and (S)-3-butyn-2-ol mesylates, to diastereomeric stereotriad aldehydes 8, 13, 18, and 23 of syn, syn, syn, anti, anti, anti, and anti, syn stereochemistry was examined. Additions to the former two aldehydes afforded the four anti adducts with high diastereoselectivity and negligible mismatching. Significant mismatching was observed with the latter two aldehydes and the (M)-allenylzinc reagent. An evaluation of possible transition states is presented in consideration of steric and dipolar control elements.  相似文献

An alignment effect in the dissociative energy transfer reaction of Ar((3)P(2))+(X(2)O)(n)(X=N,H) was directly measured using an oriented Ar((3)P(2),M(J)=2) beam. The chemiluminescence intensity of N(2)(B,(3)Pi(g)) for (N(2)O)(n) and OH(A,(2)Sigma(+)) for (H(2)O)(n) was measured as a function of the magnetic orientation field direction in the collision frame. The relative reaction cross section for each magnetic substate in the collision frame, sigma(M(J) (') ), was determined. In both the reaction systems, it is observed that the dimer formation significantly enhances the alignment effect and decreases the reactivity, especially for sigma|1| and sigma|2|. A significant contribution of rank 4 moment is recognized in the dimer reaction.  相似文献

The reaction of bromite with aqueous S(IV) is first order in both reactants and is general-acid catalyzed. The reaction half-lives vary from 5 ms (p[H+] 5.9) to 210 s (p[H+] 13.1) for 0.7 mM excess S(IV) at 25 degrees C. The proposed mechanism includes a rapid reaction (k(1) = 3.0 x 10(7) M(-1) s(-1)) between BrO(2)(-) and SO(3)(2-) to form a steady-state intermediate, (O(2)BrSO(3))(3-). General acids assist the removal of an oxide ion from (O(2)BrSO(3))(3-) to form OBrSO(3)(-), which hydrolyzes rapidly to give OBr(-) and SO(4)(2-). Subsequent fast reactions between HOBr/OBr(-) and SO(3)(2-) give Br(-) and SO(4)(2-) as final products. In contrast, the chlorite reactions with S(IV) are 5-6 orders of magnitude slower. These reactions are specific-acid, not general-acid, catalyzed. In the proposed mechanism, ClO(2)(-) and SO(3)H(-)/SO(2) react to form (OClOSO(3)H)(2)(-) and (OClOSO(2))(-) intermediates which decompose to form OCl(-) and SO(4)(2-). Subsequent fast reactions between HOCl/OCl(-) and S(IV) give Cl- and SO(4)(2-) as final products. SO(2) is 6 orders of magnitude more reactive than SO(3)H-, where k(5)(SO(2)/ClO(2)(-)) = 6.26 x 10(6) M(-1) s(-1) and k(6)(SO(3)H(-)/ClO(2)(-)) = 5.5 M(-1) s(-1). Direct reaction between ClO(2)(-) and SO(3)(2-) is not observed. The presence or absence of general-acid catalysis leads to the proposal of different connectivities for the initial reactive intermediates, where a Br-S bond forms with BrO(2)(-) and SO(3)(2-), while an O-S bond forms with ClO(2)(-) and SO(3)H-.  相似文献

The proton transfer in NH(3)-HCl by only one molecule of catalyst was studied by using the MP2 method with the large 6-311++G(2d,2p) basis set. The 18 structures are obtained for the smallest units, NH(3)-HCl-A trimers, for which the proton transfer maybe occurred. The final results show that the proton transfers have occurred in the 15 cyclic shape structures for A = H(2)SO(4), H(2)SO(3), HCOOH (a), HF, H(2)O(2), HNO(3), HNO(2) (a), CH(3)OH, HCl, HNC, H(2)O, HNO(2) (b), NH(3), HCOOH (b), and HCHO, and not occurred in another 3 trimer structures for A = HCN, H(2)S, and PH(3). These results show that the proton transfer occurs from HCl to NH(3) when catalyst molecule A (acidic, neutral, or basic) not only as a proton donor strongly donates the proton to the Cl atom but as an acceptor strongly accepts the proton from the NH(3) molecule in the cyclic H-bond structure. In this work, a proton circumfluence model is proposed to explain the mechanism of the proton transfer. We find that, for the trimer, when the sum of two hydrogen bond lengths (R = R(1) + R(2)) is shorter than 5.0 A, molecule A has the ability to catalyze the proton transfer. In addition, we also find that the interaction energy E(int) between NH(3)-HCl and A is nearly related to the extent (R(H1)(-)(Cl)) of proton transfer, that is, the interaction energy E(int) increases with the proton transfer.  相似文献
