The influence of phase separation and crystallization on the internal friction of some oxide glasses is reviewed and discussed. In alkali-containing glasses, the internal friction peak caused by stress-induced diffusion of alkali ions decreases in magnitude and shifts to higher temperature slightly due to phase separation. And in alkali-free glasses phase separation only exerts a minor decrease upon the background of internal friction curves, whereas crystallization influences the internal friction of these glasses more strongly. Because of crystallization, in alkali-containing glasses alkali ions might diffuse in a residual glass phase and a crystal phase, respectively. This might cause corresponding internal friction peaks. And in alkali-free glasses, no evident internal friction peak is observed. However, the author found a high and wide internal friction peak at about 100°C in the crystallized MgO·Al2O3·SiO2·TiO2 and ZnO·Al2O3·SiO2·ZrO2 glasses. The peak occurring in the two glasses studied is probably connected with glass crystallization and crystallized crystals.  相似文献

We report the infrared and Raman studies of titanium doped vitreous silica glasses for a number of titanium concentrations. The vibrational modes associated with the randomly oriented chains of SiO4 tetrahedra show broadenings and shifts. The LO-TO splitting of some Raman active modes decreases with increasing titanium concentration. This is attributed to the decrease in long-range coulomb fields associated with the chains of SiO4 tetrahedra which are broken by the titanium atoms. The results are discussed in the context of random network models. An increase in the average intertetrahedral angle of the SiO4 network is calculated from the data. This explains the anomalous decrease in the density of TiO2---SiO2 glasses with increasing titanium content. We identify two new modes associated with the distorted titanium tetrahedra. A polarized Raman mode at 1115 cm−1 which is infrared inactive and an unpolarized Raman mode at 945 cm−1 which is infrared active are observed.  相似文献

以石墨烯和自制TiO2粉末为原料,通过两步水热法联合真空抽滤法制备还原氧化石墨烯/TiO2纳米线(rGO/TiO2 NWs)复合膜。通过扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、透射电子显微镜(TEM)、X射线衍射仪(XRD)、拉曼光谱对rGO/TiO2 NWs复合膜的形貌、结构进行表征。研究结果表明,还原氧化石墨烯和TiO2 NWs成功地复合在一起,复合材料中TiO2 NWs分散性较好。Cu2+吸附实验结果表明,复合材料中TiO2 NWs所占比例、pH值是影响Cu2+吸附效果的重要因素,研究复合材料对Cu2+的吸附效果应该在pH值为6.0的近中性环境。其中TiO2 NWs含量为50%时,复合膜对Cu2+的吸附量最高,达到rGO薄膜的4倍。复合薄膜有较好的吸附稳定性,重复使用5次后,吸附率是原吸附量的91%。  相似文献

Surface crystallization in a rare-earth aluminosilicate glass (Nd2O3–Al2O3–SiO2–TiO2) was studied using an isothermal method and the crystal growth rate of the glasses was evaluated as a function of the composition. For measuring the surface crystal growth rate, two different methods: measurement of the crystal layer in the longitudinal and lateral growth direction. It was found that crystallization proceeded by surface crystallization only and TiO2 did not act as a nucleating agent. The growth rate was strongly dependent on the viscosity of glass and agreed with prediction from the Preston model using the known viscosity and melting temperature. As the Si/Nd and Si/Al ratios decreased, the crystal growth rate increased. TiO2 and Nd2O3 played the role of network modifier, which decreased the viscosity of the glass, facilitating crystallization of the rare-earth aluminosilicate glass.  相似文献

V2O5 gels containing up to 18 mol% of TiO2 were obtained through the simultaneous hydrolysis of alkoxides in ethanol solution. V2O5 gels containing Na2O or Li2O were obtained through the ion exchange method. The crystallization temperature, Tcr, of the gels increased and the H2O content of the gels decreased by the addition of TiO2 or Na2O. These additives seem to stabilize the amorphous state of the gels. On the other hand, Tcr and the H2O-content slightly varied with the addition of Li2O. No ionic polarization was observed in coating films of the gels dried at temperatures below Tcr. The dc conductivity of the films was anisotropic, and increased with the addition of Li2O or Na2O. However, it decreased with increasing TiO2 content. The fiber-like structure of gels was observed by TEM. The gels obtained from alkoxides were thin and short in comparison with the gels obtained through the ion exchange method.  相似文献

Tellurium oxide glasses were prepared by the hammer and anvil technique. The glass systems are (0.85TeO2 + 0.15Z), where Z = K2O, TiO2, V2O5, MnO, Fe2O3, CoO, NiO or CuO. A second group is a ternary system 0.85TeO2+(0.15 − x)TiO2 + xFe2O3) with x=0.0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 mol. X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and differential thermal analysis measurements were carried out. The present study showed the different glass-forming groups, the glass transition and crystallization temperatures as well as the crystallization processes.  相似文献

This study demonstrates that hydrolysis should be carried out in a step manner in gel synthesis. The key to the increase in the amount of water added is the control of the hydrolysis rate of Ti(OC4H9)4. The hydrolysis of Si(OC2H5)4 can be carried out at about 75°C. The amount of added water (γWI), which varied with TiO2 content (in mol%), was about 64–88% of the total amount of added water. The hydrolysis reaction should be performed at room temperature while Ti(OC4H9)4 is added. The total amount of added water (γW) is related to the amount of solvent (R). For example, if TiO2 is 40mol%, γW will vary from 3.2 to 8.0 when R varies from 0.8 to 2.0. The amount of added water was affected by the distribution of solvent in the metal alkoxides. The amount of added water can be increased when RSi(OC2H5)4 = 1, RTi(OC4H9)4 > 1. The rate of rise in temperature of the thermolysis of the dried gel should be less than 10°C per hour, and the heat treatment temperatyre is related to the TiO2 content (in mol%). Gel glasses without devitrification can only be obtained by thermolysis at 600°C from the gel with no less than 20 mol% TiO2.  相似文献

Glass films of pure SiO2 and TiO2 have been prepared on sodalime silica flat slide glasses by the sol-gel process using the dip-coating technique from TEOS and Ti(OC3H7)4 solutions. The various parameters such as chemicals concentrations, viscosity, type of catalyst, withdrawal speed and temperature of densification leading to the obtention of good and adherent coatings with definite film thicknesses are reported. The same technique has been used for the depositon of layers of colored films SiO2---MxOy (M = Co, Mn, Nd and Cr). Brilliant yellow coatings have been obtained with TiO2---CeO2.  相似文献

Binary glasses containing no modifying oxides, such as SiO2---GeO2, SiO2---B2O3, SiO2---P2O5, GeO2---B2O3, Al2O3---P2O5 and ternary glasses SiO2---GeO2---P2O5, Al2O3---B2O3---P2O5, B2O3---SiO2---P2O5, Al2O3---ZrO2---P2O5 have been prepared by melting and CVD methods. The Raman spectra have also been measured. Structural characteristics of SiO2, GeO2, B2O3, P2O5 in different glass systems are analysed. There exist coordination number changes in B2O3- and GeO2-containing glasses and linkage changes between tetrahedra (SiO4) and (PO4) in SiO2 and P2O5 containing glasses. The structure of Al2O3 containing glasses is homogeneous and the structure of B2O3 containing glasses is inhomogeneous. These experimental results are in coincidence with the X-ray small angle scattering analysis.  相似文献

The flow in an oxide melt such as LiNbO, and TiO2 in a high magnetic field was observed by using magnetic-field-applied Czochralski equipment for oxide crystals. It was found that the flows in oxides melts were very much different from these in a semiconductor melt. The single crystals of TiO2 were grown in a magnetic field by using this equipment.  相似文献

The influence of the mixed alkali effect on the chemical durability of Na2O---TiO2---SiO2 glasses during substitution of K2O for Na2O in 21Na2O---26TiO2---53SiO2 glasses was investigated. The best chemical durability was found at K2O/Na2O = 2.5 where the minimum was close to K+ ions of larger size. It was shown that the water corrosion process of the system was predominantly controlled by both the mobility and the exchange function of K+ ions resulting in the generation of a titanium-rich and silicon-rich layer at the surface. The mixed alkali effect can therefore be applied to lower the rate of water corrosion and increase chemical durability so that optical glasses with higher chemical durability can be obtained.  相似文献

Ceramic materials with a very low thermal expansion coefficient are synthesized by the sol-gel process. The binary gel is obtained by hydrolysis and polycondensation reactions of organometallic compounds of aluminium and titanium. The thermal evolution of the amorphous powder is followed by DTA and TGA measurements. Structural evolution is followed using X-ray diffraction. The crystallization of the TiO2 rutile and Al2O3 corindon starts at 700 and 900°C respectively. The transformation of Al2O3 and TiO2 into Al2TiO5 appears between 1200 and 1300°C. The densification of the powder is performed by the hot pressing process. The shrinkage of the powder was previously followed by dilatometric measurements. The physical properties of the final material are studied as a function of pressing parameters.  相似文献

A series of titania-silica glasses with 0–9% TiO2 were fabricated using a sol/gel process. The sol was prepared by dispersing colloidal silica fume in an aqueous solution of titania which was synthesized through the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of titanium isopropoxide. The sols gelled in 2–4 days, and then were dried for 6–8 days. The dry gels were sintered at 1450–1500°C to produce clear, dense, microstructure-free glasses. The gels underwent a total shrinkage of 50% to yield glass rods about 50 mm long and 5 mm in diameter, or glass discs about 4 cm in diameter and 5 mm thick. The drying step was most critical in the production of crack-free specimens.

In the gel, the transmission electron microscope (TEM) revealed the presence of 1–5 nm rutile microcrystallites uniformly distributed within a network of colloidal silica particles. After sintering to 1450–1500°C, though, a dense, transparent, microstructure-free glass was created. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) verified the formation of an amorphous solid-solution of titania and silica after sintering.

The thermal expansion of the glasses was measured using a differential dilatometer. The average linear coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE @ 25–675°C) varied between +5 × 10−7 and −0.2 × 10−7°C−1 in the range 0 to 9% TiO2. The glass with 7.2% TiO2 exhibited a zero thermal expansion coefficient at 150–210°C. The hysteresis in CTE on heating and cooling was of the order of 0.01–0.02 ppm.  相似文献

Optical third-harmonic generation from some high-index glasses was investigated. The highest χ(3) was obtained from As2S3 glass 2.2 × 10−12 esu/ This value was 100 times higher than that of pure SiO2 glass and comparable with that of the polymer with monomer-doping, which are known as organic materials with quite high χ(3). From the relationship between χ(3) and composition, sulfide glasses were found to have higher χ(3) than oxide or semiconductor-doped oxide glasses with similar refractive indices.  相似文献

The gel formation of the (100-x)TiO2·xSiO2 (x = 0–10 mol%) system has been studied. The progressive elimination of residues was followed by DTA and TGA curves. DTA curves showed that the formation of anatase during heat treatment could be sensibly slowed down with the increase of SiO2. The relationship between the gel composition and crystallization temperature of anatase has been systematically investigated. The X-ray diffraction spectra demonstrated that the crystallization temperature of anatase is 400°C for TiO2 gel and 430°C for 90TiO2 - 10SiO2 gel. The infrared absorption spectra were used to follow the structural transformation of gels heat-treated at different temperatures. With the help of EPR it is evident that titanium ions exist only in tetravalence.  相似文献

We determined the internal nucleation, crystal growth and overall crystallization kinetics of fresnoite crystal (2BaO · TiO2 · 2SiO2) in an almost stoichiometric fresnoite glass. Due to the extremely high nucleation rates (1017 m−3 s−1) that limit the maximum crystal size to 700 nm the nucleation densities and crystal sizes were estimated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The volume fraction crystallized was measured by X-ray diffraction. The nucleation rates obtained directly from SEM measurements reasonably agree with those calculated from the combination of overall crystallization with crystal growth kinetics. The activation enthalpies for viscous flow, transport of structural units across the nucleus/melt interface (nucleation) and crystal growth: ΔHη, ΔHτ and ΔHU respectively, follow a similar trend to that observed for other stoichiometric silicate glasses that nucleate internally: ΔHη=294>ΔHτ=87>ΔHU=61 kJ/mol. Fresnoite glass displays the highest internal nucleation rates so far measured in inorganic glasses. These rates are comparable to some metallic glasses and can lead to nanostructured glass-ceramics.  相似文献

Multi-domained heteroepitaxial rutile-phase TiO2 (1 0 0)-oriented films were grown on Si (1 0 0) substrates by using a 30-nm-thick BaF2 (1 1 1) buffer layer at the TiO2–Si interface. The 50 nm TiO2 films were grown by electron cyclotron resonance oxygen plasma-assisted electron beam evaporation of a titanium source, and the growth temperature was varied from 300 to 600 °C. At an optimal temperature of 500 °C, X-ray diffraction measurements show that rutile phase TiO2 films are produced. Pole figure analysis indicates that the TiO2 layer follows the symmetry of the BaF2 surface mesh, and consists of six (1 0 0)-oriented domains separated by 30° in-plane rotations about the TiO2 [1 0 0] axis. The in-plane alignment between the TiO2 and BaF2 films is oriented as [0 0 1] TiO2 || BaF2 or [0 0 1] TiO2 || BaF2 . Rocking curve and STM analyses suggest that the TiO2 films are more finely grained than the BaF2 film. STM imaging also reveals that the TiO2 surface has morphological features consistent with the BaF2 surface mesh symmetry. One of the optimally grown TiO2 (1 0 0) films was used to template a CrO2 (1 0 0) film which was grown via chemical vapor deposition. Point contact Andreev reflection measurements indicate that the CrO2 film was approximately 70% spin polarized.  相似文献

Titanium oxide (TiO2) films were deposited on silicon substrates at the temperature in the range 50–600 °C by DC reactive magnetron sputtering. It was found that the anatase and rutile phases co-existed in the TiO2 films deposited at 450–500 °C, while only the anatase phase existed in those deposited at other temperatures. The mechanism of such a crystallization behavior of TiO2 films is preliminarily explained.  相似文献

The colorless and transparent glasses in the Al2O3---B2O3---SiO3 system with high B2O3 and SiO2 content were prepared from gels at low temperature. Their IR spectra not only revealed the evolution of the gel to glass conversion, but also showed that the formation of mixed bonds in the glasses obtained did not show any effect due to the B2O3 content. The accuracy of the glass composition is dependent upon the SiO2/B2O3 molar ratio. The higher the ratio, the less the deviation of the analyzed compositions of the resulting glasses from their original calculated values. It is obvious that the higher the ratio, the lower the thermal expansion coefficient and the higher the transformation temperature of the glass, and the temperature at which the thermal contraction reaches an equilibrium is higher.  相似文献
