Approximate （m,n）-Cauchy-Jensen Additive Mappings in C^＊-algebras

Concerning the stability problem of functional equations, we introduce a general (m, n)-Cauchy-Jensen functional equation and establish new theorems about the Hyers-Ulam stability of general (m, n)-Cauchy-Jensen additive mappings in C*-algebras, which generalize the results obtained for Cauchy-Jensen type additive mappings.

Short Cycle Structure of Graphs on Surfaces （1） -the Uniqueness Theorems

In this paper we investigate cycle base structures of a （weighted） graph and show that much information of short cycles is contained in a MCB （minimum cycle base）. After setting up a Hall type theorem for base-transformation, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for a cycle base to be a MCB. Further more, we show that the structure of MCB in a （weighted） graph is unique. In the case of nonnegative weight, every pair of MCB have the same number of k-cycles for each integer k ≥ 3. The property is also true for those having longest length （although much work has been down in evaluating MCB, little is known for those having longest length）.     

Characterizability of the Group ^2Dp（3） by its Order Components,Where p ≥ 5 is a Prime Number Not of the Form 2^m ＋ 1

The author will prove that the group ^2Dp（3） can be uniquely determined by its order components, where p ≠ 2^m ＋ 1 is a prime number, p ≥ 5. More precisely, if OC（G） denotes the set of order components of G, we will prove OC（G） = OC（^2Dp（3）） if and only if G is isomorphic to ^2Dp（3）. A main consequence of our result is the validity of Thompson＇s conjecture for the groups under consideration.     

Partial isometries and an invariant of <Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis>*-algebras

In this paper, we will discuss some properties of biprojection-commutative elements which are relevant to the classification of certain infinite C*-algebras, and define an important invariant s(A) of C*-algebra A as well as give some basic properties with regard to s(A). Moreover we prove that the invariant s(A) has continuity.     

Operator space tensor products of <Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis>*-algebras

For C*-algebras A and B, the identity map from into A _λ B is shown to be injective. Next, we deduce that the center of the completion of the tensor product A⊗B of two C*-algebras A and B with centers Z(A) and Z(B) under operator space projective norm is equal to . In this paper, we give a class of C*-algebras with non-stable K ₁-group property which include the example non-simple tracial topological rank zero and stable rank two C*-algebra given by Lin and Osaka.

Bounded trace <Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis>*-algebras and integrable actions

Let G be a second countable group, A be a separable C*-algebra with bounded trace and a strongly continuous action of G on A. Suppose that the action of G on induced by is free and the G-orbits are locally closed. We show that the crossed product A×G has bounded trace if and only if G acts integrably (in the sense of Rieffel and an Huef) on . In the course of this, we show that the extent of non-properness of an integrable action gives rise to a lower bound for the size of the (finite) upper multiplicities of the irreducible representations of the crossed product.Mathemactics Subject Classification (1991): 46L55

In this paper we study C*-algebras generated by a commuting family of isometric operators. Such algebras naturally generalize the Toeplitz algebra. We investigate *-automorphisms and ideals of C*-algebras generated by semigroups.     

The Proof of Inseparable Prime AW^＊—Algebras Being Primitive C^＊—Algebras

The relation between the inseparable prime C^*-algebras and primitive C^*-algebras is studied,and we prove that prime AW^*-algebras are all primitive C^*-algebras.     

Tracial Limit of C^＊-algebras

A new limit of C^*-algebras, the tracial limit, is introduced in this paper. We show that a separable simple C^*-algebra A is a tracial limit of C^*-algebras in Z-(k) if and only if A has tracial topological rank no more than k. We present several known results using the notion of tracial limits.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis>*-algebras generated by cancellative semigroups

A C*-algebra generated by a commuting family of isometries is a natural generalization of the Toeplitz algebra. We study the *-automorphisms and invariant ideals of the C*-algebra geerated by a semigroup.
