A new spectroscopic method to study surface magnetism is proposed. The method measures the time-evolution of spin polarization due to the magnetic coupling with polarized electron spins of unpolarized and slow radioactive probes. Because of the expectedly high sensitivity and efficiency, a large field of applications will be opened by using slow positive muons,12B nuclei, etc.  相似文献

Given a Riemannian structure (M, g), a hypothesis is investigated that if= p=0 n p (M) is submitted to the differential condition (g++)=0, =mc/—which implies that each component of fulfills the Klein-Gordon equation (- 2) p =0, ought to be interpreted as a natural complex of the bosonic fields. Then it is found that the complex admits the interpretation in the sense of first quantization with (M) being a convex set of states, with the structure of a Hilbert space over . The definite spin states of bosons are then pure states which are not conserved by the temporal evolution.  相似文献

The structural and dynamic parameters of urea at 112°K and 295°K were determined by the least squares method. The characteristic temperature of the torsional optical vibrations of a molecule about a C-O bond was determined and is in good agreement with the value determined by Raman scattering. The fractional X-coordinate of the nitrogen atom corrected for torsional vibrations was determined and it was found that the magnitude of the projection of the C-N bond in the given temperature range changes only within the limits of observational errors. A new method, called temperature difference synthesis, is described and it is shown that it is suitable for rapid qualitative determination of the thermal anisotropy of the vibrations of atoms in a crystal lattice.

Explicit solutions are found for a number of special cases of the potential problem of periodic charge distribution. The effect of uneven distribution of the charges of a Bloch wall on the magnetostatic energy is studied, the effective width of the Bloch wall is determined, an analytical expression is found for this distribution of poles and finally the effective height of the surface layer is also determined. An expression is derived for the orientation of the vectors of magnetization in the surface layer with respect to the easy directions of magnetization. The stability of the basic domain structure up to an inclination ofof the plane under observation to the direction of easy magnetization and the dimensions of the domains in periodic closure structures follow from the calculations.

A model for the distribution of cations in the spinel lattice of manganese ferrites MnFe2O4+ was elaborated on the basis of the experimental studies of the basic magnetic quantities, electrical conductivity and magnetic relaxation of the given ferrites, taking into consideration their crystallographic properties. The conclusions following from this model are in good agreement with the experimental results obtained by us and by other authors both for stoichiometric manganese ferrite and for a ferrite where 0.

We have found that gamma-irradiated polyformaldehyde does not exhibit the effect of the disappearance of the hyperfine structure of EPR spectrum as a function of the dose or the time passed since the end of irradiation, as was found earlier for a group of polymers having only C-C-C-C-atoms in the polymer chain. This difference in the change in the EPR of the polyformaldehyde (PFA) spectrum compared with the polymers with a -C-C-C-C- chain is explained by the impossibility of forming a conjugate double bond in the -C-O-C-O- chain in PFA.

The acoustomagnetoelectric (AME) current effects on mesoultrasound in monopolar single-valley semiconductors with anisotropic scattering in arbitrary classical magnetic fields are computed analytically. The specimen is considered short-circuited along the q-wave vector of the ultrasound (US) wave. Two configurations are examined: 1) q is directed at an arbitrary angle 9 to the axis of highest order crystal symmetry C6 (z axis), the y axis to the (q, C6) plane, the magnetic field B lies in the (q, y) plane at an arbitrary angle to the vector q. Two transverse AME field components are calculated: along y and in the (q, C6) plane. They express the Hall effects at mesoultrasound, the planar and normal, 2) q is directed along the y axis while B is in the (x, z) plane at an angle to the C6(z) axis. The AME field component along B, the Grobner effect at mesoultrasound, is calculated. The first part of the paper gives a general equation for triple-crystal arrangement with perfect crystals on the assumption that the third crystal is rotated. It is shown that in the case of perfect crystals the shape of the reflection curve is practically independent of the vertical divergence. The case of mosaic crystals is also solved and the possibility of rotation by other than the third crystal is considered. A method is proposed for investigating the imperfection of a crystal which is different from methods used up to now. The paper is supplemented by some experimental results.

SYNFOS     
An expression for the amplitude of a pulse of synchrotron radiation coherently scattered in the forward direction by a Mössbauer absorber consisting of randomly oriented paramagnetic ironcontaining molecules (for example, a frozen solution of a 57Fe protein) in an applied magnetic field is derived from the theory of optics. It is assumed that the hyperfine splittings present in the Mössbauer nuclei can be described in the framework of the spinHamiltonian formalism. In the general case of a thick Mössbauer sample of this kind the response on an incident monochromatic and fully polarized beam cannot be given analytically because of the integrations involved. How nuclear forwardscattering for this general case is evaluated in the program package called SYNFOS is outlined.  相似文献

A variety of rigorous inequalities for critical exponents is proved. Most notable is the low-temperature Josephson inequalitydv +2 2–. Others are 1 1 +v, 1 1 , 1,d 1 + 1/ (for d),dv, 3 + (for d), 4 , and 2m 2m+2 (form 2). The local sensitivity of photo-multiplier photo-cathodes
The influence of the non-uniform distribution of the sensitivity of a photo-multiplier photo-cathode on the spectrum shape of the output pulses from a scintillation detector is studied. Methods of scanning the local sensitivity and determining its distribution function are described. The theory was compared qualitatively with measurement on a slow-neutron detector from a mixture of zinc sulphate and boric acid.

The paper deals with the collective behaviour of electrons which rotate in a magnetic field used in a betatron. It is shown experimentally that there exists strong interaction between the electrons, which leads to the rapid formation of the equilibrium state with characteristic distribution of the charge density in the cross-section of the toroidal beam. The corresponding relaxation time is of the order of 1 sec. A statistical theory of the equilibrium beam is elaborated. Its main result is that the effective radius of the beam is a function of two parameters, one of which is proportional to the thermal energy of the electrons and the other to the perveance of the beam. The charge contained in a toroidal beam of given effective cross-section is equal to the product of the charge the beam would contain at zero temperature and a coefficient, which is a function of the temperature of the beam. Its value is unity at zero temperature and rapidly decreases with increasing temperature. The cause of cooling of the beam is shown.

The effect of electrolytically deposited nickel films on the magnetostriction, coercive force, residual induction, and the position with respect to each other of the magnetic susceptibility maxima max. max of specimens of iron-silicon alloy is investigated. It is shown that elastic extensions lead to a reduction in the spacing between the maxima max, max , and for certain loads this spacing disappears and only one maximum is observed.  相似文献

The time courses are given of three variations in the intensity of cosmic radiation, which occurred in the first half of 1958. The measuring apparatus is described and the energies of the particles recorded a reestimated. The paper is the partial result of systematic measurements of the intensity of cosmic radiation carried out in Czechoslovakia in the International Geophysical Year.

Two classes of non-Riemannian domain walls are obtained as distributional planar sources for the linearized Einstein-Cartan (EC) field equations of gravity. The first class represents spin polarized particles distributed on the non-Minkowskian side of the wall and an analogy with the ferromagnetic domains is displayed since the spin distributions are different on both sides of the walls. The other class represents a gravitational analog of Type I superconductor where Cartan torsion plays the role of the magnetic field. The interior solution is obtained by using matching conditions in EC-gravity and is matched to a torsionless vacuum in the last case.  相似文献

The thickness dependence of the magnetic band structure of ultrathin, epitaxial Ni(111)/W(110) layers has been studied by spin and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The changes of the spin-resolved photoemission intensities upon reducing the layer thickness depend strongly on the wavevector along the -L line of the Brillouin zone. The measured exchange splitting atk 1/3(-L) andk 1/2(-L) is found to be independent of the layer thickness for layers consisting of 3 or more atomic layers, while decreases rapidly with the layer thickness atk2/3(-L). This behavior is very similar to the temperature dependence of the spin-resolved photoemission spectra of bulk Ni(111) at the samek-points.  相似文献
