The quantum theory of a forward Stokes generation by means of stimulated Raman scattering is considered in the case of a pre-gaussian pump composed by two and three telegraphs. As for the case of a colored chaotic pump the mean Stokes intensity is found to be enhanced over that resulting from a coherent pump in both transient and steady-state limits. In the limit that the pre-gaussian bandwidth becomes large, the mean Stokes intensity also becomes identical with that resulting from a coherent pump. 相似文献

We investigate the stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)properties of light beams carrying orbit angular momentum(OAM).The phase conjugation of light beams carrying OAM is experimentally achieved in an SBS mirror with a random phase plate.The spectrum and the pulse width compression of SBS light are measured.It is shown that the phenomena of pulse compression is observed and OAM conservation is confirmed in the SBS process.The OAM transfer from photons to phonons may find potential applications in photon-phonon conversion-based signal-processing schemes by using OAM multiplexing. 相似文献

This note considers stimulated scattering of laser light in the ordinary mode by magnetosonic waves in a plasma. Problems of three-wave decay interaction and modulation instability are investigated. The effect of singly side-scattered light on the attenuation of collimated light beams in turbid media is investigated. Correction formulas for the exponential attenuation law are derived for the case where the viewing angles of the receiving system and radiation source are equal. The ranges in which the corrections are important in the propagation of light beams in haze, fog, and rain are indicated. It is shown that the range of solid angles in which the angular dependence of the scattered light can be neglected is defined by the inequality 1.1, where p is the Mie parameter; the solid angle determines the divergence of the light beam, which is equal in this case to the viewing angle of the receiving system. 相似文献

A multiple scattering propagation model of narrow light beams in aerosol media is described. It is based on a paraxial approximation of the radiative transfer equation in which the flux normal to the incident beam direction is modeled by a diffusion process. The model solutions are the forward- and backscattered intensity profiles for the specified geometry and receiver aperture and field of view. The required inputs are the system parameters, and the aerosol single scattering angular phase function and extinction and scattering coefficients which are allowed to vary along the beam axis. Good agreement is shown with measurements performed in the laboratory over scales ranging from a few tens of mm to a few m, and in the atmosphere over a scale of the order of 1 km. The solutions are valid for optical depths smaller than 10, for phase functions corresponding to average size parameters of order one or greater, and for off-axis positions not exceeding 25% of the reciprocal of the scattering coefficient. 相似文献

A vorticity of the light field created by interference of two intersecting Laguerre–Gaussian singular beams is analysed. We investigate stimulated scattering of light in globular photonic crystals infiltrated by water. Excitation of stimulated
scattering of light is realized using powerful ultrashort (70 ps) laser pulses with an energy of 35 mJ and a frequency repetition
of 15 Hz. We use the second-harmonic generation (532 nm) of the master oscillator and amplifier with a wavelength of 1064 nm.
The photonic crystals under study are artificial opals filled by water or ethanol. We characterize the sample structures employing
an electronic microscope along with the fiber-optics reflectance-spectroscopy technique. Photonic crystals have a stop band
near the spectral positions of the exciting line (532 nm) and the first satellite of stimulated Raman scattering of light
in water (649 nm). We observe a substantial reduction of the threshold of stimulated Raman scattering of light in water-infiltrated
artificial-opal matrices in comparison with that of pure water. Such a reduction is explained as the result of a sharp increase
in the photonic density of states near the stop-band edges of investigated photonic crystals. The reduction in the threshold
of stimulated Raman scattering of light in water-infiltrated artificial-opal matrices opens up the opportunity to observe
stimulated Raman scattering in numerous water media, including water solutions, biological and medical samples, heavy waters,

We show that effect of light-induced focusing of the low-frequency Raman scattering components and defocusing of the high-frequency
components in the field of a gaussian exciting beam lead to a slight shift of the enhanced Raman line relative to the center
of the spontaneous Raman line on the low-frequency side. We propose and provide a rationale for an efficient algorithm for
calculating the average power for enhanced Raman scattering, based on numerical solution of the wave equation for the field
of the Stokes beam developing from spontaneous Raman scattering.

The present work provides a literature survey of elastic scattering of exotic nuclei from 6He to 17F. It presents a set of definitions that allow different analyses to be put into a common language. A calculational approach is proposed that yields consistent results across different beams and targets so that conclusions concerning the influence of virtual and real breakup as well as transfer couplings on the elastic scattering may be drawn. Calculations of elastic scattering around the Coulomb barrier are emphasised, employing a Pb target whose large Z allows the interplay between nuclear and Coulomb forces to be exploited to maximise possible effects arising from proton or neutron haloes or skins. A series of test calculations is performed and where possible compared to data, demonstrating that there are instances where coupling to transfer channels can have a large effect on the elastic scattering angular distributions. By careful choice of target/beam combination, different aspects of the coupling effects may be emphasised. 相似文献

The spectra of stimulated Raman scattering in ordinary and heavy water under excitation by second harmonic of a picosecond Nd:YAG laser were compared. It was shown that when stimulated Raman scattering is excited in water in cavities of a photonic crystal (synthetic opal matrix constructed of silica nanoglobules) or a photonic glass in the form of close-packed monodimensional millimeter-size amorphous-quartz balls, the efficiency of stimulated Raman scattering increases significantly compared to a uniform liquid medium. 相似文献

A microscopic theory is represented of the scattering of the excitonic polariton on the excitonic polariton in semiconductors with direct band gaps. All possible scattering mechanisms were taken into account. In the calculations the second quantization method was used in an effective manner. A calculation is made of the doubly back scattered radiation from the intersection volume and the close-range volume. A comparison of the results for singly and doubly scattered radiation with experimental data enables the limits of applicability of the equations to be determined.
