The method of the reduction of the size of the state space based on its symmetry is presented. An important property of the method is that in its static version, it preserves probabilities of states of the system. In the reduced state space, the probability of a new state (termed below as class) is equal to the probability of each of the states belonging to a given class multiplied by the number of states which form this class. We also present an appropriate method which allows to calculate time dependent probabilities of states of a given system, if multiple absorbing states are present. This is done with a continuous version of the exact enumeration method for weighted networks. The approach provides a new method of the analysis of non-equilibrium processes. As an application, the state space of a polymer molecule is analysed. We model circular polymer on a regular 2D square lattice. The reduction of the size of the system is presented, as dependent on external conditions. Finally, we evaluate the time of relaxation to and from the absorbing states.  相似文献

In previously exhibited hidden variable models of quantum state preparation and measurement, the number of continuous hidden variables describing the actual state of single realizations is never smaller than the quantum state manifold dimension. We introduce a simple model for a qubit whose hidden variable space is one-dimensional, i.e., smaller than the two-dimensional Bloch sphere. The hidden variable probability distributions associated with quantum states satisfy reasonable criteria of regularity. Possible generalizations of this shrinking to an N-dimensional Hilbert space are discussed.  相似文献

We present a model to realise a probabilistic quantum teleportation of two-particle mode entangled state through the four-photon quantum channel. Four modes of the two-photon mode entangled state are directly transferred to other spatial four modes of the quantum channel with success probability of 50%. The quantum protocol operates in space of photon number states. A Bell state measurement with four beam splitters and four pairs of detectors in the teleportation protocol is accomplished in the fourfold coincidence basis.  相似文献

In this study we investigate the collective behavior of the generalized Kuramoto model with an external pinning force in which oscillators with positive and negative coupling strengths are conformists and contrarians, respectively. We focus on a situation in which the natural frequencies of the oscillators follow a uniform probability density. By numerically simulating the model, it is shown that the model supports multistable synchronized states such as a traveling wave state, π state and periodic synchronous state: an oscillating π state. The oscillating π state may be characterized by the phase distribution oscillating in a confined region and the phase difference between conformists and contrarians oscillating around π periodically. In addition, we present the parameter space of the oscillating π state and traveling wave state of the model.  相似文献

A simple quantum model describing the onset of time is presented. This is combined with a simple quantum model of the onset of space. A major purpose is to explore the interpretational issues which arise. The state vector is a superposition of states representing different “instants.” The sample space and probability measure are discussed. Critical to the dynamics is state vector collapse: it is argued that a tenable interpretation is not possible without it. Collapse provides a mechanism whereby the universe size, like a clock, is narrowly correlated with the quantized time eigenvalues.  相似文献

A compressed representation is described of the state space of discrete systems with some kind of symmetry of its states. An initial state space is represented as a network of states. Two states are linked if some single process leads from one state to another. The network can be compressed by a grouping of states into classes. States in the same class are represented by nodes of equal degree. Further, subclasses are defined: states belong to the same subclass if their neighbouring states belong to the same subclasses. The goal is that the equilibrium probability distribution of states in the initial network can be found from the probability of subclasses in the compressed network. The approach is applied to three exemplary systems: two pieces of a triangular lattice (25 and 36 nodes) with Ising spins at the lattice nodes, and a roundabout with three access roads and three exit roads. The compression is from 3630 ground states to 12 subclasses, from 263 640 ground states to 409 subclasses, and from 729 states to 55 subclasses, respectively.  相似文献

Markovian dynamics, modeled by the kinetic master equation, has wide ranging applications in chemistry, physics, and biology. We derive an exact expression for the probability of a Markovian path in discrete state space for an arbitrary number of states and path length. The total probability of paths repeatedly visiting a set of states can be explicitly summed. The transition probability between states can be expressed as a sum over all possible paths connecting the states. The derived path probabilities satisfy the fluctuation theorem. The paths can be the starting point for a path space Monte Carlo procedure which can serve as an alternative algorithm to analyze pathways in a complex reaction network.  相似文献

Teleportation is a quantum information process without classical counterparts, in which the sender can disembodiedly transfer unknown quantum states to the receiver. In probabilistic teleportation through a partial entangled quantum channel, the transmission is exact (with fidelity 1), but may fail in a probability and the initial state is destroyed simultaneously. We propose a scheme for nondestructive probabilistic teleportation of high-dimensional quantum states. With the aid of an ancilla in the hands of the sender, the initial quantum information can be recovered when teleportation fails. The ancilla acts as a quantum apparatus to measure the sender's subsystem. Erasing the information recorded in it can resume the initial state.  相似文献

A general “logical” scheme, containing both classical and quantum mechanics, is developed on the basis of plausible axioms. We introduce the division of states and yes-no measurements into sharp and diffuse ones, and prove that sharp states possess their carriers. Owing to this result, the existence of lattice joins and meets is proved for a wide class of elements of the logic. This “semi-lattice” structure gives the familiar lattice picture for special cases of classical and quantum mechanics. The notion of quantum superposition is introduced in this general scheme. It is proved that if in a theory appear nontrivial quantum superpositions, then this theory is “undeterministic” and vise versa. Further analysis of the pure state space leads to the construction of the canonical embedding of the general logic into an orthomodular complete ortho-lattice. After defining the probability of transition between pure states, the pure state space appears to be a generalization of Mielnik's “probability space” of quantum mechanics.  相似文献

State change, quantum probability, and information gain in the operational phasespace measurement are formulated by means of positive operator-valued measure (POVM) and operation. The properties of the operational POVM and its marginal POVM which yield the quantum probability distributions of the measurement outcomes obtained by the operational phase-space measurement are investigated. The Naimark extension of the operational POVM can be expressed in terms of the relative-position states and the relative-momentum states in the extended Hilbert space. An observable quantity measured in the operational phase-space measurement becomes a fuzzy or unsharp observable. The state change of a physical system caused by the operational phase-space measurement is described by the operation which is obtained explicitly for the position and momentum measurements and for the simultaneous measurement of position and momentum. Using the results, the entropy change of the measured physical system and the information gain in the operational phase-space measurement are investigated. It is found that the average value of the entropy change is equal to the Shannon mutual information extracted from the outcomes exhibited by the measurement apparatus.  相似文献

We consider the problem of the driven harmonic oscillator in the probability representation of quantum mechanics, where the oscillator states are described by fair nonnegative probability distributions of position measured in rotated and squeezed reference frames in the system??s phase space. For some specific oscillator states like coherent states and nth excited states, the tomographic-probability distributions (called the state tomograms) are found in an explicit form. The evolution equation for the tomograms is discussed for the classical and quantum driven oscillators, and the tomographic propagator for this equation is studied.  相似文献

We present a model for studying communities of epistemically interacting agents who update their belief states by averaging (in a specified way) the belief states of other agents in the community. The agents in our model have a rich belief state, involving multiple independent issues which are interrelated in such a way that they form a theory of the world. Our main goal is to calculate the probability for an agent to end up in an inconsistent belief state due to updating (in the given way). To that end, an analytical expression is given and evaluated numerically, both exactly and using statistical sampling. It is shown that, under the assumptions of our model, an agent always has a probability of less than 2% of ending up in an inconsistent belief state. Moreover, this probability can be made arbitrarily small by increasing the number of independent issues the agents have to judge or by increasing the group size. A real-world situation to which this model applies is a group of experts participating in a Delphi-study.  相似文献

We use linear entropy of an exact quantum state to study the entanglement between internal electronic states and external motional states for a two-level atom held in an amplitude-modulated and tilted optical lattice.Starting from an unentangled initial state associated with the regular 'island' of classical phase space,it is demonstrated that the quantum resonance leads to entanglement generation, the chaotic parameter region results in the increase of the generation speed, and the symmetries of the initial probability distribution determine the final degree of entanglement. The entangled initial states are associated with the classical 'chaotic sea',which do not affect the final entanglement degree for the same initial symmetry. The results may be useful in engineering quantum dynamics for quantum information processing.  相似文献

In the foundations of quantum mechanics Gleason’s theorem dictates the uniqueness of the state transition probability via the inner product of the corresponding state vectors in Hilbert space, independent of which measurement context induces this transition. We argue that the state transition probability should not be regarded as a secondary concept which can be derived from the structure on the set of states and properties, but instead should be regarded as a primitive concept for which measurement context is crucial. Accordingly, we adopt an operational approach to quantum mechanics in which a physical entity is defined by the structure of its set of states, set of properties and the possible (measurement) contexts which can be applied to this entity. We put forward some elementary definitions to derive an operational theory from this State–COntext–Property (SCOP) formalism. We show that if the SCOP satisfies a Gleason-like condition, namely that the state transition probability is independent of which measurement context induces the change of state, then the lattice of properties is orthocomplemented, which is one of the ‘quantum axioms’ used in the Piron–Solèr representation theorem for quantum systems. In this sense we obtain a possible physical meaning for the orthocomplementation widely used in quantum structures.  相似文献

Representation of quantum states by statistical ensembles on the quantum phase space in the Hamiltonian form of quantum mechanics is analyzed. Various mathematical properties and some physical interpretations of the equivalence classes of ensembles representing a mixed quantum state in the Hamiltonian formulation are examined. In particular, non-uniqueness of the quantum phase space probability density associated with the quantum mixed state, Liouville dynamics of the probability densities and the possibility to represent the reduced states of bipartite systems by marginal distributions are discussed in detail. These considerations are used to study ensembles of hybrid quantum-classical systems. In particular, nonlinear evolution of a single hybrid system in a pure state and unequal evolutions of initially equivalent ensembles are discussed in the context of coupled hybrid systems.  相似文献

We show that there is a close relationship between quantum mechanics and ordinary probability theory. The main difference is that in quantum mechanics the probability is computed in terms of an amplitude function, while in probability theory a probability distribution is used. Applying this idea, we then construct an amplitude model for quantum mechanics on phase space. In this model, states are represented by amplitude functions and observables are represented by functions on phase space. If we now postulate a conjugation condition, the model provides the same predictions as conventional quantum mechanics. In particular, we obtain the usual quantum marginal probabilities, conditional probabilities and expectations. The commutation relations and uncertainty principle also follow. Moreover Schrödinger's equation is shown to be an averaged version of Hamilton's equation in classical mechanics.  相似文献

We present the multifractal analysis of coherent states in kicked top model by expanding them in the basis of Floquet operator eigenstates. We demonstrate the manifestation of phase space structures in the multifractal properties of coherent states. In the classical limit, the classical dynamical map can be constructed, allowing us to explore the corresponding phase space portraits and to calculate the Lyapunov exponent. By tuning the kicking strength, the system undergoes a transition from regularity to chaos. We show that the variation of multifractal dimensions of coherent states with kicking strength is able to capture the structural changes of the phase space. The onset of chaos is clearly identified by the phase-space-averaged multifractal dimensions, which are well described by random matrix theory in a strongly chaotic regime. We further investigate the probability distribution of expansion coefficients, and show that the deviation between the numerical results and the prediction of random matrix theory behaves as a reliable detector of quantum chaos.  相似文献

A simple one-dimensional model for the system–apparatus interaction is analysed. The system is a spin-1/2 particle, and its position and momentum degrees constitute the apparatus. An analysis involving only unitary Schrödinger dynamics illustrates the nature of the correlations established in the system–apparatus entangled state. It is shown that even in the absence of any environment-induced decoherence, or any other measurement model, certain initial states of the apparatus – like localized Gaussian wavepackets – are preferred over others, in terms of measurementlike one-to-one correlations in the pure system–apparatus entangled state.  相似文献
