This paper gives a report on measurements of the coefficient of absorption and intensities of a gas-ionizing radiation, which is emitted by a gas discharge. Earlier measurements in oxygen with a discharge in a cylindrical electrical field had yielded components of radiation with values ofμ≈550,μ≈250, andμ= 38 cm?1 according to 760 mm Hg. By new measurements using a spark discharge an additional component with a value ofμ=2,5 has been found, which already has been measured by other authors. Measurements with mixtures of oxygen and nitrogen are compared with results of measurements in air. From this it may be deduced that the gas-ionizing radiation effective in air is essentially emitted by nitrogen and ionizes oxygen, the coefficient of absorption being aboutμ≈5 cm?1. The number of ionizing quantums emitted per ionizing collision of electrons in the discharge tube is about 10?3 for oxygen, nitrogen, and air. In oxygen this figure proves to be essentially independent ofE/p. In air, however, this figure is reduced with increasing values ofE/p. The absorption of the ionizing radiation in air is increased by the addition of methane (μ=960 cm?1 for 760 mm Hg of methane). In carbon dioxyde several components of ionizing radiation are found, with coefficients of absorption in the range 200<μ<800.  相似文献

The radiation excited in nitrogen and hydrogen by an electron swarm moving in a uniform electric field is investigated. In nitrogen the bands of the 2 nd positive group in the region from 3400 to 3800 Å are the dominating part of the radiation. In hydrogen the main part of the radiation is lying in the far ultraviolet (1000 to 1200 Å) due to the excitation of the state 21 II u . The coefficientδ describing the intensity of the radiation is measured with a photomultiplier device as a function of the electric fieldE and the pressurep in the range from about 10 to 100 Torr. Besides the dependence ofδ onE/p a pressure dependence is found which is explained as a quenching process of the excited molecules by collisions. The pressurep 0 for equal probability of radiating and non-radiating decay of the states involved is 60 Torr in N2 and 20 Torr in H2. The theoretical interpretation of the dependence onE/p supports the excitation energy of the state C3 II u of N2 for electron impact to be equal to the spectroscopical value of 11·04 eV and yields 0·9·10?16 cm2 for the maximum of the excitation cross section. The results of the measurements in H2 can be described assuming a cross section of 0·55·10?16 cm2 for the excitation of the state 21 II u by electron impact.  相似文献

Electron drift velocities and attachment coefficients were measured in dry air (E/p=0.1–30 V/cm Torr) and in a 9∶1 nitrogen/oxygen mixture (E/p=0.2–3 V/cm Torr) in the pressure range from 50 to 200 Torr, using a modified spark chamber technique. The primary electrons were released by anα-particle. The temporal development of the electron density in the gap was determined from the amplitude of the current due to the avalanches, which were produced by applying high voltage pulses at different delay times. — It was found that in air the dissociative attachment sets in at higherE/p (~10–15 V/cm Torr) than in oxygen. At lowerE/p three body attachment is predominant. — When the high voltage pulses were applied after the transit time of the primary electrons, electron avalanches still appeared. It was concluded that they were started by electrons which were detached from negative ions. The estimated detachment rates indicate the formation of O 2 ? ions at lowE/p and of O? ions at higherE/p.  相似文献

A low-voltage xenon-hydrogen discharge is considered theoretically at an interelectrode distance of L = 1 cm and cathode emission current densities of j s = 2–20 A/cm2. Basic parameters of the discharge plasma, in particular, the total hydrogen and xenon densities, are optimized to attain the maximum possible density of negative hydrogen ions \(N_{H^ - } (L)\) at the plasma-anode boundary. The distributions of the plasma parameters over the discharge gap are calculated for optimized regimes. According to calculations, at intermediate cathode emission current densities (j s ≈ 5–10 A/cm2) in optimized discharge regimes, the density of negative hydrogen ions in the anode region of the plasma is \(N_{H^ - } (L)\) ≈ (1.5–2.5) × 1012 cm?3 and the total plasma pressure is p 0 = 0.5–0.6 Torr.  相似文献

Experimentally observed ground state band based on the 1/2-[521] Nilsson state and the first exited band based on the 7/2-[514]Nilsson state of the odd-Z nucleus ~(255)Lr are studied by the cranked shell model(CSM) with the paring correlations treated by the particle-number-conserving(PNC) method. This is the first time the detailed theoretical investigations are performed on these rotational bands. Both experimental kinematic and dynamic moments of inertia(J~(1)and J~(2)) versus rotational frequency are reproduced quite well by the PNC-CSM calculations. By comparing the theoretical kinematic moment of inertia J~(1) with the experimental ones extracted from different spin assignments, the spin 17/2~-→13/2~- is assigned to the lowest-lying 196.6(5) ke V transition of the 1/2~-[521] band, and 15/2~-→11/2~- to the 189(1) ke V transition of the 7/2~-[514] band, respectively. The proton N = 7 major shell is included in the calculations. The intruder of the high- j low-? 1 j_((15)/2)(1/2~-[770]) orbital at the high spin leads to band-crossings at ω≈0.20( ω≈0.25) Me V for the 7/2~-[514] α =-1/2(α = +1/2) band, and at ω≈0.175 Me V for the1/2~-[521] α =-1/2 band, respectively. Further investigations show that the band-crossing frequencies are quadrupole deformation dependent.  相似文献

The parameters of radiofrequency helium discharge under atmospheric pressure were studied by electrical and optical measurements using high voltage probe, current probe and optical emission spectroscopy. Two discharge modes α and γ were observed within certain limits. During α to γ mode transition, a decrease in voltage (280–168 V), current (2.05–1.61 A) and phase angle (76°–56°) occurred. The discharge parameters such as resistance, reactance, sheath thickness, electron density, excitation temperature and gas temperature were assessed by electrical measurements using equivalent circuit model and optical emission spectroscopy. In α mode, the discharge current increased from 1.17 to 2.05 A, electron density increased from 0.19 × 1012 to 0.47 × 1012 cm?3 while sheath thickness decreased from 0.40 to 0.25 mm. The excitation temperatures in the α and γ modes were 3266 and 4500 K respectively, evaluated by Boltzmann’s plot method. The estimated gas temperature increased from 335 K in the α mode to 485 K in the γ mode, suggesting that the radiofrequency atmospheric pressure helium discharge can be used for surface treatment applications.  相似文献

We spectroscopically studied the population of the excited hydrogen atomic states with the principal quantum numbers n=3 and 4 in a decaying plasma produced by a pulsed discharge in a mixture of helium (p=40.4 Torr) with a small amount of hydrogen ([H2]≈1012 cm?3). Experiments on recording the response of the spectral line intensities to a short-duration electron temperature perturbation revealed the contribution of electron-ion recombination to the population of the H*(n=3) states in the early afterglow. The ions produced by collisions of hydrogen molecules with metastable He(23 S 1) atoms, whose density decreases relatively rapidly with time in the decaying plasma, were assumed to be involved in this process. No population of the H*(n=4) atomic levels due to electron-ion recombination was found. Our experimental results are consistent with the conclusions of previous studies that excitation transfer during collisions of metastable helium molecules with hydrogen molecules plays a major role in the population of the excited hydrogen atomic states both with n=3 and with n=4 during most of the afterglow.  相似文献

The characteristics of a discharge and radiation in nitrogen and argon under pressures of 10–760 Torr and the discharge formation without pre-ionization of the gap from an auxiliary source are considered. A peak is detected on the pressure dependence of the radiation power of the second positive system of nitrogen for E 0/p ~ 270 V/cm Torr and nitrogen pressure p ~ 70 Torr. In the pressure range 10–760 Torr and for a voltage pulse leading front duration of ~ 10 ns, an electron beam is formed behind the grid anode with various half-amplitude pulse durations. It is shown that, under the given conditions, the electron beam is formed at the voltage pulse front both in the case of a discharge gap breakdown and in the absence of a clearly manifested breakdown, as well as for a 10-ns delay of breakdown at the leading front of a discharge current pulse.  相似文献

The oscilloscopic study of avalanches of high carrier numbersn allows to investigate the influence of the space charge on the carrier amplification aboven≈106. The investigation was made with ether in the range ofE/p from 60 to 200 V/Torr·cm, withpd-values from 6 to 500 Torr·cm and with gap widths of 0,3; 0,9 and 2,7 cm. Betweenn=106 and 108 the number of carriers increases less than exp (α0 x). The space charge field of the positive ions reduces the ionisation effect of the electrons. By comparing the lowering of α(n)/α0 with the theory one can calculate the diffusion radius of avalanches and thus the mean energy of agitation in ether, which had a nearly constant value of 3 to 4 eV. Aboven≈5·106 to 107 the avalanche diameter increases considerably especially at high pressures. This effect is produced by the electrostatic repulsion of the electrons in the head of the avalanche. If the carrier number reachesn≈108 α(n)/α0 increases. This is apparently due to processes (“Nachstrom”) following the development of an avalanche just after its transit time.  相似文献

The kinetics of pulsed cathodoluminescence, which appears upon irradiation of condensed media with high-power electron beams of nanosecond duration, is analyzed. Four types of emission are considered: recombination emission, exciton emission, intracenter emission, and emission of electron and hole centers. It is found that the maximum difference in the kinetics of the intensities of emission of these types occurs in the time interval tt 1A ?1, and, in the far afterglow, an exponential decay occurs with the characteristic time (2A)?1 for the first and second types of luminescence and A ?1 for the fourth type. For the intracenter luminescence, the decay time is equal to (2A)?1 and A i ?1 for short-lived and long-lived radiative levels, respectively (A and A i are the probabilities of linear recombination of electron-hole pairs and decay of a radiative level, respectively). In the case of long-lived radiative levels, a strong peak is observed in the spectrum of intracenter luminescence in the far afterglow.  相似文献

Anomalous diffusion is researched within the framework of the coupled continuous time random walk model, in which the space-time coupling is considered through the correlated function g(t) ~ t γ , 0 ≤ γ< 2, and the probability density function ω(t) of a particle’s transition time t follows a power law for large t: ω(t) ~ t ? (1 + α),1 <α< 2. The bi-fractional generalized master equation is derived analytically which can be applied to describe the transient bi-fractional diffusion phenomenon which is induced by the space-time coupling and the asymptotic behavior of ω(t). Numerical results show that for the transient bi-fractional diffusion, there is a transition from one fractional diffusion to another one in the diffusive process.  相似文献

The inclusive K?-meson production in proton-nucleus collisions in the subthreshold energy regime is studied in the framework of an appropriate spectral function approach for incoherent primary proton-nucleon and secondary pion-nucleon production processes, which takes properly into account the nuclear mean-field potential effects on these processes as well as the final state interaction (FSI) among the outgoing nucleons participating in the one-step antikaon creation process. A detailed comparison of the model calculations of the K? differential cross sections is given for the reactions p + 9Be, p + 63Cu, and p + 197Au at subthreshold energies with the currently available experimental data obtained recently at the ITEP proton synchrotron and at SIS/GSI. It is found that the calculations with inclusion of the influence of both the nuclear density-dependent mean-field potentials and the elementary NN-FSI effects on the K? production from direct mechanism are able to reproduce, contrary to previous estimates based on the use only of the density-dependent mean fields in calculating the K? yield from this mechanism, the energy dependences of the invariant differential cross sections for “hard” antikaon creation in p9Be and p63Cu collisions. It is further shown that the NN-FSI effects play a minor role in describing the data on the spectrum of relatively soft K? mesons from p197Au interactions at incident energy of 2.5 GeV. It is also shown that the relative strength of the proton-and pion-induced reaction channels in the subthreshold energy regime is governed by the kinematics of the experiment under consideration. The influence of the nucleon, kaon, and antikaon mean-field potentials on the K? yield is explored. It is demonstrated that, in line with previous findings, the K? optical potential has a strong effect on this yield at low antikaon momenta, which is greater than those from nucleon and kaon effective potentials. At high antikaon momenta, the K? yield is found to be mainly determined, along with the elementary NN-FSI effects, by the nucleon mean field and the scenario with zero K+ potential is favorable.  相似文献

The capacitance-voltage and current-voltage characteristics of the n-CdS/p-CdTe heterosystem are investigated. Analysis of these characteristics demonstrates that the CdTe1?x S x solid solution formed at the n-CdS/p-CdTe heterointerface is inhomogeneous in both the conductivity and composition. The thickness of solid solutions is estimated from the capacitance-voltage characteristics. It is shown that, for the n-CdS/p-CdTe heterosystem, the current-voltage characteristic in the current density range 10?8-10?5 A cm?2 is governed by the thermal electron emission, whereas the current in the heterostructure at current densities in the range 10?4-10?2 A cm?2 is limited by recombination of charge carriers in the electroneutral region of the CdTe1?x S x solid solution. The lifetime and the diffusion length of minority charge carriers in the CdTe1?x S x solid solution and the surface recombination rate at the interface between the CdS layer and the CdTe1?x S x solid solution are determined. It is demonstrated that the n-CdS/p-CdTe heterostructure operates as a p-i-n structure in which CdTe is a p layer, CdTe1?x S x is an i layer, and CdS is an n layer.  相似文献

Bond-breaking excitations ω α are the problematic case of adiabatic time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). The calculated ω α erroneously vanishes with the bond elongation, since the Hartree-exchange-correlation kernel and the corresponding response coupling matrix K of standard approximations lack the characteristic divergence in the dissociation limit. In this paper an approximation for K is proposed constructed from the highest-level functionals, in which both occupied and virtual Kohn-Sham orbitals participate with the weights w p . The latter provide the correct divergence of K in the limit of dissociating two-electron bond. The present K brings a decisive contribution to the energy of the 1Σ u + in the prototype H2 molecule calculated for various H-H separations. At shorter separations it improves ω α compared to the zero-order TDDFT estimate, while at the largest separation it reproduces near-saturation of the reference excitation energy.  相似文献

The influence of isospin-violating (ρ0, ω) mixing is discussed for any pair of decays of ρ0, ω into the same final state. It is demonstrated, in analogy to the CP violation in neutral kaon decays, that isospin violation can manifest itself in various forms: direct violation in amplitudes and/or violation due to mixing. In addition to the known decays (ρ0, ω) → π+π? and (ρ0, ω) → π0γ, the pair of decays to e+e? and the whole set of radiative decays with participation of ρ0, ω (in initial or final states) are also shown to be useful and promising for studies. Existing data on these decays agree with the universal character of the mixing parameter and indirectly support enhancement of ρ0π0γ in respect to ρ±π±γ. Future precise measurements will allow one to separate different forms of isospin violation and elucidate their mechanisms.  相似文献

Local and temporal development of electron avalanches in a pulsed discharge gap (d=3,00 cm) are investigated in N2, Ar, Xe and mixtures of N2 and CH4 by simultaneously applying high gain image intensifier- and photomultiplier techniques. Electron drift velocities are obtained from time-of-flight and way-of-flight measurements in these gases. The mean energy of agitation of the electrons is derived both from electron mobility and avalanche image trace profile (diffusion broadening). The results obtained (for 20°C), being in fair agreement with one another, read N2: (4·6...5·0) eV forE/p=50...200 V/cm Torr; Ar: (9·0...9·5) eV forE/p=24... 45 V/cm Torr; Xe: (4·8...5·0) eV forE/p= 40... 90 V/cm Torr; CH4(10% N2): 6·3 eV forE/p= 89 V/cm Torr. The mean energy of agitation does not change very much withE/p in the ranges investigated. Some results concerning the radiation properties of these gases are included such as lifetime of the excited states, quenching pressure etc.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the motion of photons around a Kehagias–Sfetsos (KS) black hole and obtain constraints on IR modified Ho?ava gravity without cosmological constant (~Λ W ). An analytic formula for the light deflection angle is obtained. For a propagating photon, the deflection angle δφ increases with large values of the Ho?ava gravity parameter ω. Under the UV limit \({\omega \longrightarrow \infty}\), deflection angle reduces to the result of usual Schwarzschild case, 4GM/R. It is also found that with increasing scale of astronomical observation system the Ho?ava–Lifshitz gravity should satisfy |ω M 2| > 1.1725 × 10?16 with 12% precision for Earth system, |ω M 2| > 8.27649 × 10?17 with 17% precision for Jupiter system and |ω M 2| > 8.27650 × 10?15 with 0.17% precision for solar system.  相似文献

The dependence of the carrier amplification of an electron avalanche on the electric field allows to observe space charge fields in the discharge gap by measurements of carrier amplifications using the oscilloscopic method. This procedure is demonstrated by investigations of discharge processes in atmospheric air in a homogeneous field atE/p=34 V/cm Torr with an electrode distanced=15 cm. A test-avalanche was started to run through a positive space charge cloud produced by previous ionisation processes. The increase of the electron number was observed by a photomultiplier (optical method). There was found a strong modification of the time constant 1/αv ?. From this modification there was deduced a field distribution along the gap. The observed space charge was found moving towards the cathode with a velocity, which is equal to the drift velocity of the positive ions.  相似文献

The stability of X+Y+X?Y? Coulomb molecules consisting of X+Y? atoms and X?Y+ antiatoms to dissociation is studied. On the basis of multiparameter variational calculations, it is found that such molecules are stable to dissociation into X+X? atoms and Y+Y? antiatoms if the mass ratio of particles X and Y lies in the range 0.4710<m X /m Y <2.1231. The e+e+e?e?, π+μ+π?μ?, t+d+t?d?, p+K+p?K?, and d+p+d?p? molecules satisfy this condition.  相似文献
